On the eve of the New Year and in the midst of corporate parties, NGS.OMSK, together with a fashion model, went in search of budget dresses for the holiday.

Only ten days left until the new year 2018. At the end of the outgoing year, a lot of urgent matters accumulate, and the money disperses imperceptibly. How to look irresistible at a corporate party or a family holiday without spending a lot of money on it?

Remembering last year's successful experience, we again decided to try to find dresses worth up to 2000 rubles in chain stores of economy class clothes. Together with the 20-year-old model of the Angel agency Arina Taranenko, NGS.OMSK correspondents went through the MEGA and Festival-city stores and found out frustratingly that inflation had done its job. Finding a decent outfit for 2000 rubles is an almost impossible task. In addition, this year, mass-market stores copied styles and patterns from each other, so sometimes it seemed to us that we were in the same boutique and trying on the same dresses.

Here and there, mannequins in sheath dresses or combination dresses looked from the windows, and the manufacturers decided to compensate for the temporary disappearance of sequins from the fashion world this year in full - dress departments could be easily found when you saw something shiny in the store. Also became noticeably more short dresses in the Greek style - with a strap on one shoulder.

The assortment of MEGA does not fully reflect the main fashion trends: almost nothing has changed here since last year - the same abundance of lurex, sequins and lace. The company added dresses with a metallic thread and pleated fabrics, more like “rain” for a Christmas tree. To the touch, such outfits creak, you experience the same sensations when you see prices for such dresses that are incomparable in terms of price / quality ratio (from three thousand rubles). In the remains you can find dresses resembling robes made of cheap velvet - microvelour. The color scheme of the outfits is restrained - dresses of black and red colors hang on the shoulders, less often - golden and silver.

After a three-hour shopping marathon, we realized that for a well-tailored and beautiful outfit, we would have to pay at least 3,000 rubles. The choice of dresses was commented on by image stylist Valeria Lukyanchikova. According to her, shiny and iridescent materials remaining on the wave of popularity - lurex, sequins, velvet - are not a return to 17 years ago, but a reference to the space theme. “Now everything is directed to space. An outfit that will save on jewelry is a fitted dress in ultramarine color with a necklace and a half-open back. The fabric - polyester with spandex - is soft and stretches well. In the shop incity this outfit is on sale (despite being from the new collection) for 1599 rubles. The dress will "live" even after the corporate party. You need to choose earrings to match the beads. Stylist comment:“I don’t really like these dresses. There is no idea in this dress. There are a lot of them in everyday life. If we choose a festive dress, we want it to be more interesting. In the end, there are still nine days of holidays ahead, and then March 8 is ahead, it will be possible to go out in this dress again.

A bold decision is to come to a corporate party in a leather short dress with flounce shoulder straps. This is an impractical purchase (how to wash such a thing is unclear) - a dress in a store New Yorker costs 1999 rubles. But definitely such a dress is a bright and stylish element of the wardrobe. Stylist comment:“If you choose a dress for a corporate party, do not forget that this is also part of the job, so here it is also important to follow the dress code and not overdo it. This dress is provocative because of the fabric, it is not suitable for a corporate party. And it will most likely be hot to dance in it. ”

A scarlet lace dress with a slit is another bold, but quite comfortable and practical option. Provocative outfit is sold in the store Modis for 1799 rubles. A medium-length dress with a cucumber lace ornament is suitable not only for parties, but also for dates under the New Year tree.
