In the book by V.E. Shambarov considers lies and distortions of facts typical of Western historiography, allegedly confirming Russian ignorance, drunkenness, backwardness, aggressiveness and cruelty. The author shows the complete failure of such a view of our history and gives a true picture of the development of a unique Russian civilization from ancient times to the transformations of the time of Peter the Great.

Is it true that Russian statehood was imported to us from the West? Where was the real renaissance of culture, in Europe or in Russia? Who created the first regular army? How did Russian sobornost surpass European parliamentarism? When did the industrial revolution start in Russia? The author gives answers to these questions, which convincingly indicate that our country did not lag behind the West in socio-political, cultural and economic life, and in many respects surpassed the countries of Europe.

This fascinating book contains many interesting and little-known historical facts and will be useful both for high school students and students, and for all lovers of Russian...

Who did the conspirators work for in the era of Ivan the Terrible? Who was behind the organization of the Troubles? Why in Ukraine, the common people at all times wanted to be together with the Russians, and the leadership betrayed over and over again? And why is betrayal in Russia still a permanent factor in domestic and foreign policy?

These and other questions will be answered by the new book of the famous writer Valery Shambarov "Ivan the Terrible against the Fifth Column". Judas of Russia...

Lev Pirogov's review from Nezavisimaya Gazeta noted: “Valery Shambarov's books make up for this failure. They are read avidly, like a thriller, like a gripping novel with a sequel… One of the main advantages of Valery Shambarov's historical dilogy is that the history of Russia appears here before us as an integral part of world and European history.” “Literaturnaya Gazeta” wrote about Shambarov’s work: “Today, few are capable of possessing such a vision of the past and the present, avoiding vulgar and artificial exaggerations. This skill does not depend on scientific titles or officially declared methodology: it either exists by nature or it does not, and in the latter case, no titles will help.

In May 2004, in an interview with Literaturnaya Gazeta titled “Liberalism cannot finally win anywhere and never,” Shambarov expressed the opinion that “the liberal idea is doomed from a historical perspective.” In his opinion, liberalism is characterized by selfishness, irresponsibility, focus on solving only momentary problems, neglect of the strategic interests of the state.

Criticism

During his creative activity, Shambarov was often criticized by historians. So, to. and. n. T. Shevyakov mentioned the work of Shambarov, expressing concern about the increase in the mythologization of the history of the civil war:

D. i. n. E. B. Zabolotny and D. and. n. V. D. Kamynin:

Historian A. R. Dyukov considers Shambarov’s works to be “biased-inadequate” journalism.

Factual errors and distortions were found in Shambarov's works.

On the official website of the writer, it is noted that Shambarov is "not a historian, the depth and seriousness of his historical knowledge and publications raises serious doubts - it is enough to read at least a few pages from his works."
