According to Swiss media, the accident occurred on Thursday morning in the south of the country, near the village of Castagnola near Lake Lugano on a serpentine towards Geneva. Two Russians died in the accident: a 19-year-old girl and a 23-year-old young man who was driving. On Friday night, it turned out that Diana Lebedeva was the deceased. The identity of the young man allegedly driving has not yet been established.
The press service of the Russian Embassy in Switzerland confirmed that the 19-year-old girl who died in an accident in the canton of Ticino is the granddaughter of the person involved in the Yukos case, Platon Lebedev.
According to the representative of the embassy, the Russian diplomatic mission is currently working on the removal of the bodies of the dead to their homeland. "This will be done as soon as possible," the press service said.
According to media reports, on Thursday morning, rescuers pulled the car out of the lake with a crane, and the bodies of young people were lifted by divers.
Judging by the pictures from the scene of the accident, the BMW X6 - took off from a section of the road with a sharp bend, knocking down the iron fence on the bridge.

From the impact, a modest hatchback flew tens of meters, rolled over several times and crashed into a fence. The man received severe injuries, including the head, but still survived.
The examination showed that Babaev, who is the son of businessman Mehraj Babaev and studied in Geneva at the International Center of Moscow State University, was drunk at the time of the accident. After the accident, he was expelled.
By the way, the other participants in the race were the sons of the ex-owner of the Cherkizovsky market, Telman Ismailov, Alekper and Sarkhan. Young people drove Bugatti Veyron and Mercedes McLaren.
Despite the fact that the pensioner, after paying compensation, did not sue Babaev, the case went to court. The point in the trial of Babaev was set relatively recently. Last year, he was given a two-year suspended sentence and fined 10,000 francs. In court, he stated that he repented, pleaded guilty, but spoke little about the events of that night, citing that he did not remember anything.
The accident happened the day before, on November 24, in the area of Castagnola. Possible causes of the accident are speeding and icing of the road. These factors may have caused the driver to lose control of the sharp curve of the bridge, nicknamed the Devil's Bridge by the locals.
