On November 16, 1993, by the Decree of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus No. 784, the Belarusian Technological Institute named after S. M. Kirov was transformed into the Belarusian State Technological University. In 1997 and 2004 he successfully passed the state certification, and in October 2005 he was awarded the status of a leading higher educational institution in the forestry, chemical and printing industries.

By the decision of the Ministry of Education No. 488, BSTU issued a special permit (license) No. 02100/0111989 for the right to carry out educational activities.

BSTU was the first in Belarus to receive the International Quality Management System Certificate according to ISO 9001.

The main profile is the training of engineers for the chemical and forestry industries, specialists in the field of publishing and printing, scientific research in various areas of the chemical and forestry industries. Also, training is provided in economics, computer specialties, specialists in the automation of production processes, machines and apparatus of the chemical and forestry industries are being trained.

Short story

At that time academician Shkatela, professors Novikov, Karatkov, Zakharov, Zhitov, Shrakin, Ragavy worked at the Institute.

On November 16, 1993, by the Decree of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus No. 784, the Belarusian Technological Institute named after S. M. Kirov was transformed into the Belarusian State Technological University. In 1997 and 2004 he successfully passed the state certification, and in October 2005 he was awarded the status of a leading higher educational institution in the forestry, chemical and printing industries.

By the decision of the Ministry of Education No. 488, BSTU issued a special permit (license) No. 02100/0111989 for the right to carry out educational activities.

BSTU was the first in Belarus to receive the International Quality Management System Certificate according to ISO 9001.

For special achievements in social and cultural development, many years of fruitful activity in the training of highly qualified personnel and in connection with the 80th anniversary of the founding of BSTU, he was awarded the Honorary State Flag of the Republic of Belarus.

BSTU was awarded the Prize of the Government of the Republic of Belarus for achievements in the field of quality.

In March of the year, a resolution of the Council of Ministers was adopted, according to which five colleges ( Polotsk State Forest College , Vitebsk State Technological College, Belarusian State College of Building Materials Industry, etc.) are attached to BSTU as separate divisions.

In March, BSTU issued a certificate of attestation for 5 years and confirmed its state accreditation for compliance with the type of university.

The total number of annually studying and working at the university is more than 13,000 people. Of these, 10950 students, 628 teachers, including 62 doctors of science, 395 candidates of science, 48 professors and 254 associate professors.
