Biography and career

“I get the impression that most people want to have everything, but for this they do nothing! Moreover, they do not even say anything about their desires. It seems that they are all afraid to admit what they really want ... ".

Danila Polyakov was born on January 31, 1983 in Moscow in the family of an artist and teacher, for whom he became the fifth child. Since childhood, Danila loved to stand out from the crowd: to surprise with unusual outfits. Mine creative way Polyakov began with dance classes. At the age of 15 he worked with DJ Groove.

In 1999, Danila Polyakov was invited as a dancer to the Demo group. Later, he collaborated with the singer Valeria. As a result of experiments with her image, Danila had the idea to become a sexless model, demonstrating both men's and women's clothing.

“I want to reduce my life to being exactly in the middle, to watch the good and the bad. For me, this is the goal. If you're on the good side, you don't see the bad, and vice versa. It's difficult because I'm originally a male. If a third gender were possible without surgical interventions and without grinding, I wish I could be him."

At one of the performances, while working with the singer Valeria, Danila was noticed by a representative and offered to shoot for the OM magazine. After that, Danila Polyakov signed a contract with the Storm agency. His first work on the podium was the show of Denis Simachev.

In the mid 2000s. Polyakov's modeling career began to take off. The stylist, and later the British one, David Bradshaw invited Danila to star in a photo shoot, consisting entirely of female images. The London world appreciated the long fiery hair, sophisticated features and charisma of the model.

“If you think that red-haired people are unique and you want such a future for your child, then paint him red from childhood. We are shaped by society. You are constantly on the edge: one half admires the fact that you are red, the other - on the contrary. This is how your brain is formed – you have to constantly adapt.”

In 2006, Danila Polyakov starred in a photo shoot for Italian, which was conducted by a famous photographer.

“Modeling is a way of life, it is Super game, in which, as you think, you play yourself, but in fact everyone plays with you!

In 2008, Danila had a “crisis of 25 years”. Subsequently, understanding himself and studying the experience of other 25-year-olds, Polyakov launched a unique project "100% Vanilla". It was attended by 25 people who crossed the 25-year milestone and were ready to open up to the public.

"There is a very interesting topic: at the age of 25, a person changes greatly morally and physically. At first I thought I was going crazy. I began to talk about it with some people and gradually began to understand that all twenty-five-year-olds have similar problems of consciousness. Until now, a person has been collecting experience: looking, trying a lot of things. Then the brain is rebuilt to such an extent that it becomes clear to you who you really are. And you begin to look at yourself from the outside in any situations.

Together with photographer Alexei Kiselev, the fashion model released a book-photo album The Naughty Noughties, which was released in a circulation of 1,000 copies and was sold exclusively in the Colette concept boutique in Paris.

On January 31, 2008, an exhibition of home clothes and accessories 100% Vanilla - Beware Your Desire by Danila Polyakov and Alexey Kiselev opened in Moscow. The exhibition featured 35 items. All items were torn in intimate places. The exhibition also featured 20 photographs of Polyakov in these bold outfits.

In 2010, Danila Polyakov took part in the show of Vyacheslav Zaitsev in Moscow, appearing on the catwalk in a female image. In the same year, the fashion model acted as a stylist for the autumn-winter collection of Masha Tsigal.

“In the image of a woman, I am trying to convey a free position. A free man can think anything, dress as he likes, love anyone. And everyone initially has this level of freedom, but modern society prefers to voluntarily give it up."

In 2011, he became one of the jury members of the second season of the reality show "Top Model in Russian". In the same year, Polyakov participated in the Kama Sutra Spoon exhibition at the Moscow Museum of Modern Art. In 2011, Danila was appointed creative director Russian brand Pure Joy Fashion.

On March 5, 2013, within the framework of the Eighth International Photobiennale "Fashion and Style in Photography", an exhibition of Danila Polyakov and Dmitry Zhuravlev called Natura opened in the Moscow RuArts Gallery. The exhibition includes photographs depicting Polyakov. The project explored the human craving for all animals, frankly - "natural". For this exhibition, Zhuravlev refused to process photos in graphic editors.

In the fall of 2014, Danila Polyakov opened the Jean Gritsfeldt show at Fashion Week in Moscow.

Top model came to the party without an invitation

Top model came to the party without an invitation

Outrageous Russian fashion model Danila POLYAKOV again disgraced. This time - at the opening of the showroom of a famous clothing brand. The star of the world catwalks went over with alcohol.

One of the most scandalous Russian top models in the world Danila Polyakov always famous for his antics. Despite his status as a fashion star in the global fashion industry, almost all of the world's fashion weeks and many brands have closed their doors to him over the past few years. Most recently Masha Tsigal a condition was set at fashion week in Paris: if she does not remove Polyakov's appearance from her show, she will have to leave the show. Then, having learned about this, Danila himself refused to leave.

This time the fashion model came to the Guess brand party with Claudia Schiffer without an invitation. But the management did not dare to stop the star of the world podiums and let Polyakov to the presentation. Danila was so carried away by free black caviar and alcohol that literally in a matter of hours he got so drunk that he could barely stand on his feet. Trying to break through to his colleague in the modeling business through a security company, Polyakov only disgraced himself. Schiffer's management demanded to withdraw Danila from the event. Grabbing the Russian fashion model under the arms, the guards led him out of the elite boutique.

This fact did not upset Polyakov at all. Catching the first car he came across, he went to another party with his girlfriend.

Recall that Danila Polyakov is world famous as a model with non-standard appearance and outrageous behaviour. He is also a dancer and stylist. The only Russian man is a supermodel and the first fashion model from Russia who took part in the shows of Fendi, John Galiano, Moschino, Vivienne Westwood. He created a type of asexual model: on the catwalk he acts both as a man and as a woman. Signed contracts with Denis Simachev, Jean Paul Gaultier, Richmond, John Galliano, Ann Demeulemeester, Gilles Rosier, Andrew Mackenzie, Junya Watanabe and others. At the age of 15 he worked with DJ Groove. At one of the concerts during the tour, his talent was appreciated, and in April 1999 Danila was invited as a dancer to the Demo group. Later, he also worked as a backup dancer for the singer Valeria. In 2007, the Gianfranco Ferre brand invited a model to open a women's collection show. autumn-winter season. Later, Danila starred in a photo shoot for the Italian Vogue, which was conducted by the famous photographer Stephen Meisel. Together with a photographer Alexey Kiselev the fashion model released a book-photo album "The Restless Zeros", which was published in a circulation of 1000 copies and was sold exclusively in the Parisian concept boutique "Colette". In 2008, Danila Polyakov created the 100% Vanilla project, where 25 people aged 25 opened their own inner world in front of the public. The basis of the project was Danila's own personal crisis, which he survived, having passed the age limit of a quarter of a century. In 2010, Danila became the stylist for the autumn-winter collection of Masha Tsigal. In 2011, the supermodel works as the creative director of Pure Joy Fashion. In the same year, he became a judge on the TV project "Top Model in Russian." Danila Polyakov also took part in the filming of the film Valeria Guy Germanicus"House-2012".

something DANILA POLYAKOV irritates, someone may seem like an alien in general. But judging by the comments on the Internet, a lot of people like him. Danila is a MANNEQUIN, fashion model, master of performance, he tries himself in fashion design, in cinema, everywhere.

But no project can count on him if Danila LOST INTEREST. he will leave without looking back, no matter how much money he loses
FROM enfant terrible Moscow bohemia, we met in an old, colorfully neglected apartment, which he rents in the very center of Moscow.

Danila, this is what caught my eye: you live, as befits a bohemian, in an old shabby apartment, but you have perfect order - everything is laid out on shelves, plates in piles, put every thing that you used, put where you took it. Where does this desire for order come from?
This is manic-depressive pedantry. AT this moment In my life, I try to systematize and structure my psychological comfort. It gives me pleasure, makes me more calm. I love when it's clean. If I come to visit someone and see a hellish mess, of course, I do not draw a negative conclusion about the person. But in the space in which I live, in which I rest, gather my thoughts, it is important for me that everything is in its place.

Did your parents teach you order?
Not sure. Of course, parents taught us children how to collect toys. Mom yelled at us different ways tried to get them to clean up, but we did not obey. Sometimes she said: if you don’t collect the toys now, I will throw them away, but we didn’t collect them anyway ...

Didn't believe that she would throw them out?
Still, she threw them out a few times. Later, when we grew up and remembered it, my mother told me how upset she was then, because the toys were bought recently, and they were so cool! Mom was a teacher, she bought the necessary toys herself, loved all these things, but threw them away - for educational purposes.

And who was your father?
Dad was an artist. He was engaged in chasing, decorating, and painting - he was both a portrait painter and a seascape painter, he painted in almost all techniques. At one time he worked as the chief artist of Gorky Park. And then he traveled a lot around Russia, decorated all sorts of palaces of culture and so on.

You had strict upbringing? Were there any responsibilities other than studying and cleaning your things?
I don't know, I can't say whether it was strict or not. Well, of course, children are children. They have fun, they frolic. In fact, it’s difficult to talk about it, I don’t remember it very well, I need to think about it ... We weren’t forbidden anything, but we had to answer for ourselves.

Did your parents punish you?
Any children take out and check to what extent a parent can be brought. There were five of us - four brothers and a sister. It is clear that the parents had a strong immune system. I was the youngest, my parents had 100% endurance even before me. Get them out of themselves, bring them to a critical situation ... Although I remember that once I brought my mother out. I prevented my sister from playing the violin, well, I just messed up - I ran around, got it. And my mother scared me a lot on purpose - she said that she would beat me with a bow. But I don't remember if she thrashed or not. Looks like no, she didn't.

you grew up in large family, parents in the works, everything is like everyone else. And they grew up not like everyone else.
I am convinced that I am not unique, that my way of life is not unique.

But most go the other way...
Are you asking why I didn't go to college and so on? I'm not interested in studying.

Was school uninteresting?
No. I was interested in social studies, that's all. I also liked going to the pool. I don't like memorizing facts. I never liked to read at all, I'm not interested in the fantasy world when you read and you have all these associations. It doesn't give me any energy.

Did you have friends at school? Did you play hockey?
At school I was engaged in fencing and at the same time I started dancing. I didn't play hockey. I remember one funny situation before the New Year. We all gave each other gifts. Two weeks before the New Year, large bags were put out, everyone put gifts there and signed them. By the New Year the bags were full. Once, I remember, they closed my eyes or distracted me, but I saw that they were carrying a large gift that did not fit in the bag. It was my father who carried the hockey stick. I remember that later we went to play hockey with him, they gave me this stick. But I wasn't interested. I'm not interested in the male lifestyle at all. Then, I remember, my father was a little upset.

What did you do with your friends if you didn't play hockey?
Somehow we had fun in a different way: there were swings, there were some trips into the forest - we climbed, we designed something. Not war games, but rather some kind of research activities - to make a stick with claws to climb a sheer wall, some other devices. As a child, I liked to walk and collect something - these are the games.

Did you dress like everyone else at school? Or not like everyone else?
No, not like everyone else. I also had elder sister who trained as a hairdresser. And for her, of course, I was a guinea pig. It left an imprint on my appearance. I remember, for example: he and his girlfriend dye each other's hair. "Let's make a forelock for you too?" - "Well, let's". These two moments - tuning and self-expression - were really interesting.

What interests you about tuning? Boys usually don't care.
I'm interested in modifying myself. Maybe this is some kind of lie, hiding something. Maybe you want to take more care of you. Well, what does a young man look like when he doesn't have a girlfriend? To put it bluntly, he doesn't give a damn about how he looks. And when a girl appears - it is also important for her how her young man looks - she begins to look after him. And men are changing.

And you went to school with a dyed forelock? What about teachers?
Never mind. Some of us expressed themselves more vividly. They dyed their hair white and red. It's great when a teenager can express himself - pierce his eyebrows, lips, nose, dye his hair. Children, it seems to me, should not be limited in the possibility of self-expression. We must learn to be different.

Why does it have to be different?
To make life more interesting. I do not believe that in happiness everyone is the same, that everyone lives only by spiritual growth, this is some kind of slavery. Slavery and a terrible regime. I think you need to look as bright as possible.

I am amazed by your absolute politeness, I am surprised that you can look shocking outwardly and at the same time observe politeness in such a way.
This is also an imitation. I'm trying to impress, I'm not lazy about doing the right thing. I am really grateful to my parents for raising me this way.

What about after school? Did your parents want you to study further?
They offered options, but believed that the child should decide for himself where to go. It would be cool to become a landscape designer, but it was very expensive. I wanted to be a journalist training courses, but there were problems with admission, and I needed a deferment from the army, and I went to the University of Natalia Nesterova for advertising. But he soon abandoned it. I was already a professional model then and at the same time danced in ballet with DJ Groove, then as part of the Demo group, and then in dance group at Valeria.

Who brought you to the podium?
Once a designer approached me - a friend who was graduating from the textile academy, and offered to participate in the show of her final collection, and then in the Smirnoff Fashion Awards competition for young designers. We showed a collection of clothes made of red faux suede and scales. At this competition, Galya Smirnskaya, a stylist, noticed me and offered to star in a fashion story for Ptyuch magazine. Then there were some more shootings. In a period of calm - both dancing and generally emotional - I went to the President modeling agency. I wanted to work abroad, I wanted to go to Paris. What year were the twin towers blown up? In 2001? In short, my trip was broken by the moment of the twin towers.

Why?
In fact, money was never invested in male models, they took only super-unique ones who really had their own creative image. The modeling agency Next, where I was going to go, wanted to take me, but their girls died in New York and they had no time for it. And then the director of the President agency changed, the new director sent my photo to the Storm agency in London, and they hired me. Thus began my professional modeling career Abroad.

Why do you think they took you?
I think they liked my look. Somehow I created it. The knowledge of the laws of advertising, which I received during my studies, also helped me. I understood that self-promotion is important. And at the same time, I still loved my job, it was interesting for me to work with the transformation of appearance. Masha Zheleznyakova ( today director of brand development Arsenicum. - Approx. OK!), with whom we danced together in Demo, bought all the fashion magazines - Elle, Vogue, L'Officiel. She studied them, and I studied them when I came to her to do hair. You leaf through these magazines, you see different images. You start to like it, you see: this is cool, this is interesting, but this is not very. You understand that you can completely, radically change yourself with paint of different shades from small jars. With the help of hairstyles, you can create absolutely any appearance for yourself. And therefore, you will be perceived differently. You can turn into the person you admire, you can look like him.

Did your career take off?
I left from modeling business, ceased to actively engage in it at the moment when almost all the professionals in this industry fell in love with me. My life was so unfolding that I could not continue to travel abroad. Plus, I had a misunderstanding of the environment in which I was, a fatal misunderstanding of what is generally happening around me.

And what are you doing now?
Now I'm working on my own project, I want to make a collection of clothes. But it's not really clothes. This is an interior detail - and not exactly an interior detail. This is a kind of performance that you can put on yourself.

And go outside?
And go outside.

And when you leave the house in this form, are you not afraid that, for example, you will be beaten in the subway?
I'm afraid, of course, but so what? It seems to me that it will be a shame not to go out when I understand that it looks beautiful and cool. It inspires me. And I understand that I must go outside, even if it will be my last exit.

Have you ever been beaten for looking exotic?
They beat me for painted nails.

But did you fight back?
No. I think, let them beat me, let them kill me, let me become an invalid - I will find a way out, a way not to go unnoticed. I want to draw attention to the fact that a person can look the way he wants. That differences and self-expression are pleasant shades of the joys of life. That you can find people who think the same way. A person who looks exaggeratedly spectacular makes me happy. And if this person makes me happy, it means that I make someone happy. I think I normal person.

While you are young, beautiful, looking good, you can afford extravagance. And with age...

This is some kind of social brake in the minds, this is some kind of imaginary aesthetics, a cult of youth. When you yourself condemn such an effect in your youth, you say “no, the old body is unaesthetic”, then you grow old and become an unhappy person who wants to express himself, but cannot afford it.

Are you planning to do something out of the common? For example, start a family, children?
Of course. If the social situation develops in such a way that I can afford it, then yes.

Is it true that you were invited to participate in the Dancing with the Stars project on the Russia-1 TV channel?
Yes, I am now doing ballroom dancing on the Dancing with the Stars project. I'm learning samba. And of course, it is very funny to watch yourself. How do you take unnatural positions for yourself, how do you learn unnatural steps. Well, maybe in some situations they are natural, but systematically doing one-two-three-four-five-six-seven-eight-eight ... somehow repeating with your feet back and forth is, of course, for head funny. But we have learned half, and already it turns out. I was told that this is the most difficult of the ballroom dances. But sometimes I laugh at myself and think: Lord, this is very funny!

You starred in a movie, in the film "Entropy", together with Ksenia Sobchak, Valeria Gai-Germanika ... They took you because you are also a famous person?
Andrey Bartenev was the production designer and casting director there. He called me to audition, he liked me, and they took me.

Well, how do you like it?
Funny. Once again I was convinced that I can not remember other people's thoughts. I can only talk my own. I'm memorizing the text, but the camera turns on, and I can't pronounce it.

How do you see your future destiny, career?
I don't see it at all.

You are already thirty years old!
Thirty years, so what?

Don't you want stability?
Stability... You know, there is such a moment in my head... It is clear that I want to. The brain, like, says: you should have a place where you can sleep safely and not think about food. Because we still all have to eat and sleep so that the immune system does not sit down. But the other side of this reasoning: since you want to live differently, maybe you are just afraid to live on the street? If my life turns into a stamp, like everyone else, I don't mind. But I don't want to go there myself. This is not my dream, I don't want to be like everyone else.

Danila Polyakov now
The 33-year-old famous Russian fashion model told Life that he often has to beg on the streets and spend the night in the open.
The career of Russian top model Danila Polyakov, who became famous for his unusual effeminate appearance and eccentric behavior, skyrocketed in the early 2000s. The world fashion business was at his feet, and the leading fashion designers were ready to pay any money for participation in the show of the red-haired fashion model. He was the decoration of the best podiums in Europe and starred in films with the stars of Russian cinema. But, alas, fame was unkind to the young man and soon left him as suddenly as it came. And the modern public recognizes him only by shocking antics and scandalous behavior. AT candid interview Life Danila Polyakov spoke about how his fate developed in the shadow of the faded rays of glory.

Daniel, tell us what are you doing now?

I hardly participate in fashion shows, basically, if I am invited, then only young designers and as a model, and not a fashion model to go on the podium. But I agree to any job, especially if it pays. Now I am a freelance artist, creator. I create images in the art style myself - these are clothes, shoes, and even furniture. I make an exhibition, and then I try to sell the exhibits. What I didn’t buy, I throw away or give away to friends.

Does it bring in any income?

I don't have a stable income. Yes, and never was. I don't bother with money, but it's hard without it. Although I can say that my requests are very mundane: I need money for food, travel and housing. Do not need anything else. I don't even buy clothes. My friends give me old things, from which I make images for myself: I tear, cut, sew the fabric again and it turns out quite stylishly. So I go. For example, I recently sewed myself new shoes from two old torn pairs. I don't have a fixed location either. The concept of "home" is vague. I wake up in the morning and don't know where I'll spend the night the next night. I wander from sister to friends, acquaintances and vice versa. Sometimes you have to spend the night even on a bench in the park. For me, this is not a problem.

And how long has it been? What are you living on?

I can't say that I used to be fabulously rich, and now I'm homeless. But, for example, there were times when I worked as a backup dancer for "Demo" and at various shows, I saved money because I did not have time to spend. There were more than enough of them. Then I was able to afford to buy a dacha in the Moscow region (however, after the death of my mother, I could not come there because of the memories, and recently the house burned down completely). Or he left for America for several months and lived there without denying himself anything. I just don't know how to spend money properly. I do not consider it necessary. I can drink it all away overnight, and in the morning ask passers-by for money for travel. Now, of course, there is no such prosperity as before, and not even close. People on the streets often come up to me and offer help, I do not refuse, I take money from them. Even strangers sometimes buy food for me in the store. They will probably find out and then regret it.

Do you have moments of despair?

I have moments of despair. As a child, I prayed when it was bad, although I never believed in God. But recently I had such a moment of absolute despair, when I caught myself thinking that I again want to ask the Lord for help. But in time he pulled himself up: "Danil, there is no God. We must rely only on ourselves." I don’t want to build my own family, children are not mine either. Therefore, I live the way I live, I go with the flow, today. Maybe it's still forming.

The glory of the famous fashion model Danila Polyakov has passed, and now he has to beg and spend the night on the street. Danila Polyakov spoke about how his fate developed in the shadow of the faded rays of glory. We learned how the fate of six more handsome men who ended their careers in

A student of the civil service academy came to the school of models in his city, which greatly surprised all his friends. Now Pinaev has returned to the world of fashion in a new capacity, he has become a scout for the world's largest modeling agency Ford Models.

Since his student years, the guy worked as a model, but real popularity came only in 1993, when he replaced Mark Wahlberg, becoming the new face of Calvin Klein. But soon the dean called him and asked him to go to the show. And they paid a lot for it - 5 thousand dollars. The guy was noticed and began to be invited to shows and photo shoots. In 2010, Oleg played one of the main roles in the science fiction film "Devil's Flower". Now Oleg is the editor of one of the Russian television channels.

The 21-year-old guy was noticed by the photographer when he was rollerblading. After this photo shoot, the guy's life has changed dramatically. After 4 weeks, he already went to the podium in Paris, and after some more time, Calvin Klein invited him to become the male face of the brand. Then Marcus became interested in cinema and has starred in 9 films so far. In addition, Markus became the host of football programs.

After the end of his career, Mark tried himself in films, but starred in only three films. However, the model does not lose heart - Mark is the owner of expensive real estate in Amsterdam, New York and Paris.

Photographers first noticed the young man when he was just walking in the park. The editor of The Source really liked the photo, and he put it on the cover of the magazine. Two years later, Tyson became the highest paid male model in the world, thanks to an exclusive contract with Ralph Lauren. Then he decided to connect his life with television and cinema. Since 2000, he has starred in 15 films and TV shows.
