Essay on the topic "What is patriotism?". Composition on the topic “What is patriotism Introduction on the topic of patriotism

Essay "Patriotism and its limits".

Among the many problems of our time, the problem of patriotic education and civic development of youth remains especially relevant. The modern world forces us to be, often, immoral.

You can often hear on the news that teenagers smashed a monument or mocked war veterans. This suggests that they do not have a drop of patriotism. Many teenagers can respond to such a statement with stupid explanations that someone broke the monument, and they just happened to be nearby, or the veteran asked them to be polite to children and women. Such people cannot call themselves patriots because they do not know the true essence of patriotism.

So what is patriotism? Patriotism is not only love for the Motherland, it is also love for the history of one's country, devotion to the Fatherland, the desire to protect and glorify one's state.

Many people believe that patriotism, like any other phenomenon of human nature, has limits. I agree with that.

So, I will try to define the boundaries of patriotism as I understand it. First, we can distinguish the lowest level of patriotism. For example, there are people who sincerely rejoice at the successes of our country, but do not make any effort to do so - this is a “domestic” manifestation of patriotism. Secondly, we can single out the highest level of patriotism. I believe that people at this stage are close to fanaticism, because they are often in such a state in which they can safely kill a person just because he does not support the policy of the state or does not go to the May 9 Victory Parade. To some extent, racists can also be attributed to the highest level of patriotism, since these people believe that their country is only for their people and their nationality. Thirdly, the "golden mean" of patriotism. People who are on this border are “walking” the right way. They not only respect the culture and national traditions, but also protect the interests of their Motherland.

I believe that such a feeling as pride can be attributed to the "golden mean" of patriotism, and even necessary. This feeling is familiar and accessible to everyone, because more than once we felt joy for our country when our athletes won medals at the Olympic Games, or when in history lessons we were told about the victory in the war with Napoleon or in World War II. This feeling of joy is pride for the Motherland, which means that such pride is an important component of patriotism.

Patriotism plays a huge role in the modern world. It does not arise from nowhere, it must be brought up in oneself.

Time spares no one. In the 21st century, patriotism seems to have faded into the background, and our task is not to give time to lose one of the most significant treasures of a person - patriotism. You may ask - why? The answer is very simple. Patriotism in Russia creates history (without patriotism, our ancestors would not have defeated enemies), and if we forget about patriotism, then we will lose our past.

What is patriotism? The concept of patriotism is different for everyone.. First of all, it is love for one's country, a special emotional experience of one's belonging to it, a sense of pride in it. This is a state of mind, a sense of duty and responsibility to your native land, where you were born, grew up, where you spent your childhood. Patriotism is synonymous with the word "respect". Treats with respect to his country, language, flag, people. And, most likely, this is the key to our future well-being. A country with patriots is a prosperous country.

Our president ON THE. Nazarbayev said: “At a time when explosions and gunfire are heard all around, when children and women are dying, when the whole world is infested with terrorist attacks, peace and tranquility reign in Kazakhstan. This is our merit. And this is recognized by the most prominent people in Islam, Christianity, Judaism, Buddhism, Hinduism. This is recognized by the United Nations. It is difficult to find in the modern world such an example of mutual respect in a multinational country. This is the greatest value, and I am sincerely proud that we were able to become such an example.”

The president ON THE. Nazarbayev considers the idea of patriotism as the main element of the strategic development of Kazakhstan in the long term. And this, of course, because we are talking about national security, sovereignty and integrity of countries. The strategic development of the country to a certain, perhaps even decisive extent depends on how we will instill in Kazakhstanis a sense of patriotism, love for the Fatherland, Motherland. And each of us must understand the importance of this issue.

For many centuries, the ancestors, being in harsh conditions, defended their lands, and today the new state created on the ancient land - the Republic of Kazakhstan - has taken a worthy place in the world community.

I want to quote the words of my favorite writer, the legendary son of the Kazakh people Bauyrzhan Momyshuly: “The exploits of the glorious Kazakh batyrs should become a tradition for modern horsemen. If a Kazakh from the cradle brought up fighting qualities, can we say that these people are not incapable? All the good things in the past of the Kazakh people should triumph in the present.”

Bauyrzhan Momyshuly highly appreciated the noble traditions of the Kazakh people, bringing up the fighting qualities of horsemen. Many of the writer's sayings have become aphorisms that have gone deep into the people. The school of life brought up this man, a solid, unshakable hero, an honest, sensitive writer, who is my ideal of a real warrior, a passionate patriot.

The word "patriotism" from the Greek language is translated as a compatriot or fatherland. Well-known publicist, journalist P.G. Chernyshevsky stated: A patriot is a person who serves the motherland, and the motherland is, first of all, the people.... The American politician Theodore Roosevelt believed: “It is important that you be ready to die for your country; but more importantly, you must be willing to live your life for her.”

Patriotism for me- this is pride in the achievements and culture of their homeland, the desire to preserve its cultural characteristics, the desire to protect the interests of the homeland and its people. Kazakhstani patriotism is based on respect for all traditional religions professed by the peoples of our country and is based on deep traditions of interreligious dialogue and tolerance. Although first of all it is love and respect for the state symbols of the Republic. These images are the sources of creating a patriotic image of the state, are the subject of national pride.

The 21st century is the century of progress, new technologies, scientific discoveries and the rapid development of all mankind. In our time, the boundaries of decency began to fade, human qualities disappear, standards and stereotypes change, traditions and customs are forgotten. The age of cold prudence of cynicism has come.

Patriotism- it's like elections: the free will of the people, and at the same time, civic duty. Only a person with high self-consciousness can develop such a high feeling in himself. Love for the motherland should be instilled from childhood, in the family, in kindergarten, then at school, at the university. Patriotism begins to form in the family, where the image of the Motherland and the attitude towards it are laid in the mind of the child. In adolescence, student years, a person is formed as a person, and his life principles are affirmed.

For patriotism you need know the history of their country, is proud of their ancestors, strive to be worthy of them. We, modern Kazakhstanis, have something to be proud of: open, good-natured, tolerant people; beautiful nature; rich story; high intellectual potential; promising, educated youth and much more.

We must value and protect the historical and cultural heritage of the country. Kazakh fairy tales and legends always amaze with their plot and originality. And the art of song and dance? Listening to the music based on the poems of talented poets, to the sound of folk instruments, you imagine endless steppes, a light blue sky, a light breeze slightly swaying green fragrant grass. The history of the Republic of Kazakhstan is also extremely interesting and rich. Our ancestors proudly and boldly went into battle for their native land for the sake of a happy and bright future, for the sake of our future. The people will always be proud and honor the memory of heroes.

Unfortunately, patriotism is often confused with nationalism, and as a result, there is a negative attitude towards this concept. The earthquake in Japan serves as an example of patriotism and respect for the native land. When the Japanese helped each other in an organized manner, there was no looting. This made it possible to speak of Japan as a highly developed, image-conscious, organized country.

Patriot He is a man who loves his Motherland and his people. But how to understand that you are really a patriot of your Motherland? Every person should love his homeland, because here is his family, his home, the land on which he was born and raised. From my point of view, it is simply impossible not to love the Motherland.

For a person, the homeland is a native and most beloved place, a repository of all the warmest memories. Our childhood passed here, and childhood is the most extraordinary time of life, which will forever remain in the memory of everyone as something bright, cheerful, filled with laughter and joy.

Motherland is not just a word. These are vast expanses that can fit in my little heart. Homeland cannot be touched, groped, but it can be felt. This is an eternity, and we are small particles. This is a big mechanism, and we, each individually and all together, are its vital cogs and bolts. This is how I understand my homeland!

Heroic defense of the Motherland, Fatherland is a tradition of our multinational state with deep roots. The people of Kazakhstan honor the names of their faithful sons and steadfast defenders of the Fatherland: Abylay, Abulkhair, Rayymbek, Nauryzbay, etc.

I, as a patriot of my Motherland, am proud of our President, for the centuries-old tolerance of my people, for the children who live in such a beautiful state!

Patriotism?" The interpretation of this concept tells us that this is a person's feeling of love for the land on which he was born, for his land. A true patriot honors the traditions of his people, puts the well-being of the Motherland above his interests. He will not leave his country in difficult times for her days, will not betray his compatriots, but will help them, treat them with benevolence and respect.A patriot will do everything to improve the condition of his native land, embellish it, ennoble it.He will defend it to the last breath from the enemy, if he violates the borders and will come with war.

Patriotism in books

To write an essay "What is patriotism?" how many examples can we give by talking about the heroism, courage and patriotism of the fighters during the Great Patriotic War, by reading books about their exploits? They exposed their chests to bullets, so that the enemy would not seize their land and destroy civilians. It was the love for the Motherland that supported their strength and gave them courage.

Let's remember Andrei Sokolov, the hero of Mikhail Sholokhov's story "The Fate of a Man". When the commandant of the German prison camp summoned Sokolov and offered him a drink of vodka for the victory of Germany, the hero of the story refused. But without even flinching, he drank to his death. He behaved so boldly in this situation that even the Germans admired his firmness. Here you can clearly see what Russian patriotism is. Sholokhov's work found a response in the hearts of people.

Love for people

In life, patriotism is most manifested in times of war, when people go to death for the sake of rulers, for their homeland, with a sense of duty and responsibility for their state. It is the community of people, customs and language, the culture that has been inculcated since childhood, that give us moral principles. Not only ordinary people were patriots. Who was to set an example for them? There are cases in history when rulers and their relatives stood shoulder to shoulder with the common people in difficult times for Russia. So, the wife of Nicholas II learned to be a nurse and began to help the wounded, treat them. People said that it was not appropriate for the king's wife to do such a dirty business, but her Christian soul demanded it, she was rooting for the people. Alexandra Fedorovna listened to the stories of the sick, was on duty at their beds. Love for the people cannot be taught, it is an indicator of a person's morality.

Motherland

Such patriotism is the real state of man. Many talk about the love of women and men, but when you start asking about the personal, it turns out that everyone has their own feeling. So it is with the Motherland. Love for Russia is the love of their children for their mother. Just as they do not choose mothers, so they do not choose the land on which they are destined to be born. And you just need to love her, whatever she is. This feeling gives strength and confidence that behind your back is the Motherland with its birches, vast expanses, rivers and seas and millions of people, like you, who love their country.

The problem of patriotism

Patriotism must be instilled from childhood. It is necessary to write about the problem of patriotism in essays, to talk about it in the classroom. This is very, very important. It is necessary not only to tell that you need to love the Motherland, but to show this with examples from history, from life, from books, to write an essay "What is patriotism?". The younger generation learns from their ancestors, which means that it is necessary to show patriotism to people through the example of their lives and their work. It is important that both ordinary people and rulers follow the path of their predecessors, remembering those times when it was not required to talk about patriotism. A true patriot will give his life for his Motherland, and if he cannot, then he does not love her so much. In times of war, ordinary people went with pitchforks and axes against an armed enemy. They did not wait for an order, they went at the behest of their hearts for their country, for their loved ones, for the land that raised them. In the essay "What is patriotism?" students often write about love for the Motherland, which means that the hearts of the younger generation are given to her.

Patriotism is a social concept meaning love for the Fatherland, the ability to sacrifice for the sake of the interests of the Motherland, the state, and the people. Pride in the cultural, military, technical, scientific achievements of the country. Sincere interest in the history of their state, its traditions, readiness for the selfless defense of the Fatherland.

People have different ideas about patriotism and often do not coincide. Often there are representatives of young people whose concept of patriotism merges with nationalism or even extremism. As I said, such people are most often found among representatives of youth subcultures (skinheads, fascists, neo-Nazis, ultra-right). The essence of their patriotism lies in the exaggeration of the greatness of their people (race, nation) and state, and their superiority over other peoples and states. This is extreme, radical patriotism, rather, even inadequate, and, perhaps, not patriotism at all.

There are people who do not consider themselves patriots, pointing out that there are many smaller and weaker states in the world that live better than Russia. Yes this is true. There will never be an ideal life in Russia. Even if we settle and solve all our internal problems, external enemies will still not give us rest, and will cling to Russia with even greater force. Russia is too tidbit for them.

Personally, I consider myself a patriot. Why? The answer to this question is my understanding of patriotism. I love my country not because it is the largest in terms of territory in the world, not because it is rich in natural resources. But because this is just my house, my land is here, my ancestors lived here. I wonder who I am, where I came from, who my ancestors were, what kind of life they led. For who they were, so I shall be in part. Respect for the history of one's people and state, whatever it may be, is one of the main features of a true patriot.

Everyone knows about the recent coup of power in Ukraine. After that, politics and popular mood began to be anti-Russian. Foolish attempts are being made to rewrite history, monuments of the Soviet past are being dismantled. In my opinion, this is far from patriotic. History cannot be rewritten and changed, it is what it is, and it is forever. You can only analyze it, draw conclusions, learn from experience. But for some reason, people are not willing to learn from the mistakes of the past, so history often repeats itself.

For example, I have a negative attitude towards the period when M. Gorbachev ruled the Soviet Union. I consider Gorbachev himself to be actually responsible for the collapse of the USSR. But this is already history, and I accept it as it is, I respect it. And if I see a monument to Gorbachev, then I will not have a desire to destroy it.

The motherland must be loved as it is, as well as parents, because we do not choose them at will. Let me tell you one more case. In the 90s, one good Russian doctor, a real master of his craft, was called to the West, because. In Russia at this point in time there was a very difficult and even dangerous situation. His good friend came to him and said: “Leave, you will live very well there, with your head and hands you will not be worth the price. And in 10-15 years, when everything calms down, you will come back.” The doctor answered as follows: “When your mother gets sick, do you also leave her?” This was the answer of a true patriot, since objectively assessing the complexity of the situation in the country, he does not stop loving her. This should become the basis of the life of every citizen. There will always be problems. There will always be something to criticize and discuss, but never stop loving your Motherland.
