The Kharkov Institute of Banking UBS NBU was founded in May 1944 as the Kharkov Regional and Credit College of the State Bank of the USSR. On October 15, 1992, in accordance with the order of the National Bank of Ukraine No. 64, due to a change in the profile of training specialists, the educational institution was renamed the Kharkiv College of Banking. In 1996, the technical school received the status of a banking college, which on September 1, 2000 was reorganized into the Kharkiv branch of the Ukrainian Academy of Banking of the National Bank of Ukraine. Resolution of the Board of the National Bank of Ukraine dated 13.05.04. No. 209 on the basis of the branch established Kharkov Banking Institute of the Ukrainian Academy of Banking of the National Bank of Ukraine
Kharkiv Banking Institute is a state educational institution, which, according to the license of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine dated December 08, 2005, series AB No. 298203, provides educational services related to obtaining higher education at the level of qualification requirements for a bachelor, specialist, master of training 0501 "Economics and Entrepreneurship" specialties "Banking", "Finance", "Accounting and Audit".
According to the decision of the DAK dated June 4, 2002, protocol No. 39, the Kharkov Banking Institute was recognized as accredited for the III level from the direction of "Economics and Entrepreneurship", specialty 7.050105 "Banking".
According to the decision of the DAK dated June 22, 2006, protocol No. 61, the institute was recognized as accredited from the direction of training "Economics and Entrepreneurship" of the educational and qualification level "bachelor" of the specialty "Banking", as well as the qualification levels of "specialist", "master" specialty "Finance" and the level "master" of the specialty "Banking".
On the basis of the Decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine from 15.06.2006 No. 331-r and the Order of the Board of the National Bank of Ukraine from 14.07.2006 No. 265, the University of Banking was established in Kyiv, which included educational institutions of the National Bank of Ukraine, including Kharkov Banking Institute, which was reorganized into the Kharkov Institute of Banking.
Since 2001, according to the obtained licenses, the institute has been carrying out retraining with the provision of a second higher education in the direction of "Economics and Entrepreneurship" in the specialty "Banking" for the educational qualification level "specialist", which was re-accredited in 2006 (decision of the DAK dated 22 June 2006, protocol No. 61), and organizes training for employees of the National Bank of Ukraine system for professional advanced training programs for civil servants (economists and cashiers of cash circulation and cash transactions departments, specialists of the departments for the transportation of valuables and organization of collection of territorial departments of the NBU), for the program " Transportation of valuables and collection" - collectors and drivers of departments for the transportation of valuables and the organization of collection; refresher courses for commercial banking institutions; short-term seminars on topical issues of banking
According to the license of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine dated April 22, 2003, series AA No. 429379, the Institute provides educational services related to the preparation for entry into the Gromadyanukraine Institute.
The course starts in the second half of October. The term of study is 6 months for full-time or part-time forms, or in groups on a day off (on Saturdays).
Tuition for 6 months: full-time (evening or Saturday groups) - 700 UAH, part-time - 500 UAH.
In January, 3-month preparatory courses for full-time and part-time education begin. Preparation is carried out from the following disciplines:
- maths;
- Ukrainian language;
- economical geography;
- entry into the specialty
Weekend group classes are held every Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Evening groups study 3 times a week on weekdays from 16:00 to 19:00 (Monday, Wednesday, Friday).
Correspondence education in the courses from preparation for entry is organized in this way: each student must complete 10 tests (3 each from mathematics, Ukrainian language, economic geography and 1 from "Entry into the specialty"), according to the schedule, submit them to the institute for verification. Consultations of teachers are held monthly on Saturdays. Final exams for courses are held in April and are also introductory to the institute
The Institute has permission from the Main Directorate of Military Education of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine for military training of students for the program of reserve officers, which is carried out at the Kharkiv Institute of Tank Forces NTU "KhPI". According to the letter of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine dated 06.03.2002 No. 1/9-121 to an educational institution, an external form of study is allowed in the direction of "Economics and Entrepreneurship" with the specialty "Banking" for the educational qualification level "bachelor"; specialties "Banking", "Accounting and audit" for the educational qualification level "specialist".

More than 1100 students study at the institute. The total number of employees is 197 persons, 89 scientific and pedagogical workers serve the educational process, the average age of which is 37 years, of which 6 are doctors of science, professors, 36 candidates of science, associate professors.
The structural subdivisions provide training and retraining of specialists:
- Faculty of banking, accounting and finance;
- departments;
- Training Division;
- regional center for advanced training and retraining of bank specialists;
- editorial and editorial department;
- a library with a reading room and a point for issuing literature in the hostel;
- laboratory of PEOM, payment systems and informatics;

Humanitarian and professional training of students is carried out by 5 departments: social and humanitarian disciplines, economic theory, banking, accounting and finance, higher mathematics and computer technology.
At the departments there are laboratories for technical teaching aids, PEOM, payment systems and informatics, a training station.
The laboratory of technical teaching aids ensures the use of modern technical means in the educational process, the preparation of own educational videos based on a non-linear editing system.
The laboratory of PEOM, payment systems and informatics serves 8 computer rooms, which are connected by a local network and are controlled from a computer center. Each of them has a specific purpose: the study of application packages "Sail-Enterprise 7.4", "1 C-Accounting 7.7", "Info-Accountant"; study of software tools of the system of electronic payments of Ukraine ("Bars", "Isaod-Bank", ARM-NBU, ARM-2, EP); work on multimedia media and work on the INTERNET network.
In order to bring the educational process closer to the real working conditions of banking institutions, enterprises, firms of various forms of ownership, a training station was created at the institute, which includes a training bank and training firms. The training station premises are equipped with modern office furniture, computers, interactive whiteboards and multimedia equipment. In the course of practical classes, students develop professional skills and habits using real software, which further facilitates the rapid adaptation of graduates in the workplace and ensures their competitive advantages in the job market.
The institute's library includes a reading room, a library item in the dormitory, has over 74,000 copies of educational, scientific, reference and fiction, which meets the standards of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. The annual replenishment of the library with educational literature, including its own development, reaches 2,000 copies. The work of the library is fully computerized (the IRBIS program is used). The head of the institute's library is a member of the Association of Modern Information and Library Technologies, takes part in the creation of a consolidated catalog of periodicals in the Kharkiv region.
To meet the needs of educational, research, organizational and administrative processes with printed materials, the Institute has an editorial and publishing department, where multiplication equipment and an operational publishing system are located.
Considerable attention at the institute is given to the practical training of students. There are types of practice: in the 3rd year - educational, in the 4th year - production, in the 5th year - production and pre-diploma, in addition, master students also undergo scientific and pedagogical practice. Educational practice is carried out on the basis of the training station, scientific and pedagogical - at the departments of the institute, production and pre-diploma on the basis of banking institutions, enterprises, etc. This provides an opportunity for a targeted offer to employers of graduates for employment according to the specialization they have received.
Today, the Institute has bilateral cooperation agreements with 13 banks and enterprises, for internships with over 60 banking institutions and enterprises.

Since 2001, the institute - one of the higher educational institutions of the city - has become an official member of the Kharkov Banking Union
All this makes it possible:

The selection of senior students for further employment is carried out in several stages: this is the submission of students' resumes to the bank, written group testing, individual interviews at an educational institution and directly at banking institutions and enterprises with the participation of heads of structures that need specialists. As a result, the employment of students already in the 4th year and the full employment of graduates of the institute are ensured.
For example, graduates of 2006 work in the institutions UKRSIBBANK, PRIVATBANK, UKRSOTSBANK, RAIFFEISENBANK AVAL, NEDRA, BASIS, in the First Ukrainian International Bank, MEGABANK, in the Kommunar association, too.
The best students of the institute have the opportunity to receive nominal scholarships from the NBU and commercial banks in the amount of 100 to 400 UAH. monthly, as well as the Kharkiv Regional State Administration. There are 34 such scholarships today. Students who study on a contract basis also receive them.
Considerable and constant attention in the educational institution is given to the introduction of information technologies in the educational process and management activities:
- the total number of computers in the institute is 306 units, including 130 of them used in the educational process;
- teachers and students have access to the Internet; - faculty, departments, library, other structural subdivisions are united by a local network; - cable TV was introduced;
- a variety of software products have been introduced into the educational process and management activities: real banking programs and software for the operation of enterprises, firms, educational institutions, mathematical and statistical programs, a total of 17;
- the institute is connected to the NBU e-mail, which ensures the prompt receipt of regulatory, instructive materials regarding changes in economic activity, the existing databases "Regulatory Acts of Ukraine" and "Liga: Law" ensure the availability of the current legal field of the country
A set of works has been carried out regarding the introduction of a distance education system into the educational process: software products LERSUS, MOODLE are used, instructors have been trained to work in the Learning Space environment, their own regulatory and methodological framework has been developed, 26 self-developed distance learning courses have been introduced into the educational process from retraining. a system of interactive communication between teachers and students in the course of studying academic disciplines: FORUM, KARAULA.
Considerable attention in the preparation of students is given to the study of a foreign language (English, German, French). The institute introduced a branched approach to the study of foreign languages in the context of the Bologna process: foreign language training of future specialists is carried out according to the levels of language proficiency determined by the pan-European recommendations from language education (A - elementary user, B - independent user, C - advanced user). The Institute's computer classrooms are equipped with multimedia facilities (sound cards, headphones, CD ROM devices), which allows them to be used as language laboratories and to increase the level of students' mastery of foreign languages.
The main tasks of the research work of an educational institution are to ensure the comprehensive integration of the educational process, scientific and research and production activities. The research work annually involves a scientific and pedagogical team in its entirety and over 70% of students who work on the development of scientific topics, in particular: "Modern technologies of financial and banking activities in Ukraine", "Regional aspects of the development of the banking sector (on the example Kharkiv region)", etc..
Prepared analytical materials for the study of the financial condition of banks in the Kharkiv region
Every year, the number and volume of printed scientific and educational materials, which are prepared by the teachers of the institute, increase. So, over the past 3 years, more than 10 monographs, more than 30 manuals with the stamp of the Ministry of Education and Science, more than 300 methodological developments and more than 400 articles have been issued. The results of the research work of the institute's teachers are reflected in the publications of various scientific professional publications, such as the NBU Bulletin, the Economy of Ukraine, the Finance of Ukraine, the Banking Business, and the Law in Ukraine.
In 2005-2006 a.d. 47 teachers took part in 58 scientific conferences.
The Institute is a participant of the regional annual exhibition "Education - Science - Production", the regional annual competition "Higher School of Kharkiv Region - the Best Names".
In order to improve the process of managing scientific work at the institute, in 2005, the database "Catalog of scientific developments of KhBI" was developed, the introduction of which has economic efficiency in the system of managing educational deposits.
In order to intensify the research work of students at the institute, a system has been created for their wide involvement in various forms of research activities: from the 1st year students work in thematic groups and scientific circles, take part in competitions of scientific works, subject Olympiads, student scientific conferences and competitions in the specialty. The activities of student clubs and the student scientific society will play a significant role. Students take part in the performance of departmental research work - thus, the scientific work of students is provided with a cross-cutting character.
In particular, students of the institute actively participate in: annual international scientific and practical conferences, olympiads, round tables, professional competitions and competitions of student scientific works, which were held on the basis of the educational institution.

In order to track the development of creatively gifted youth and realize their potential at the institute, the created data bank "Giftedness", which, based on the results of students' activities, is constantly updated and replenished, a coordinating council for working with gifted students is working. The current system of selection of creatively gifted youth allows you to track the scientific development of each talented student and provide an opportunity to continue scientific research through postgraduate study at the Ukrainian Academy of Banking
As part of the integration of the institute into the global system of economic education, students and teachers have the opportunity to undergo internships outside of Ukraine. In particular, in 2005-2006 AD. seven students and a teacher completed an internship at the Higher School of the Bundesbank (Germany).
The learning process at the institute has not only an educational orientation, but also a mandatory educational orientation.
The priority areas of educational work are:
- creation at the institute of conditions for free development and self-realization of the personality of students;
- development of high professionalism of the future banking specialist;
- formation of developed spirituality, high cultural potential among students;
- the formation of social activity and responsibility of the individual, the ability to make independent decisions.
Particular attention at the institute is given to the education of student youth of the features inherent in the chosen profession. Our students visit the institutions of commercial banks, the regional department of the NBU, annually the competitions "Best in Profession" and the competition for the best diploma project are held at the educational institution, meetings are organized with practical workers of banking institutions-graduates of the institute
Of course, the goal of educational work at the institute is not only the training of a high-level specialist, but also the development of high spirituality and morality of students. This is achieved through the organization of charitable activities and the participation of our students in the state program "Mercy". Every month, the students of the institute visit a boarding school for children with hearing impairments, and also provide assistance to disabled children of boarding school No. 3. Twice a year, the institute holds a campaign to collect things, toys, household goods for transfer to orphanages. Meetings with students, festive events dedicated to Victory Day, excursions to the Museum of Military Glory were organized for war veterans.
In order to organize the leisure of students, excursions to the museums of Kharkov, literary and musical evenings, thematic educational hours are held.
Significant assistance in creating conditions for effective learning, meaningful recreation, work, charitable assistance is provided by student organizations, and above all - the student council of the institute. Students actively participate not only in various events that are held at the institute, they maintain close ties with youth organizations of other educational institutions and the city: the Committee for Family and Youth under the Kharkiv City Executive Committee, the Regional Youth Center; with the youth work center and so on.
There is also active club life. Club "Journalist" publishes the newspaper "Nasha Prava". The Graduate Club attracts graduates of past years to participate in the work of student clubs, to conduct student professional competitions and olympiads. It is impossible not to say about the youth center, because it is here that the realization of the artistic abilities of our students takes place.
The youth center has a dance group Komilfo, vocal groups, a vocal and instrumental ensemble, a KVK team, which are frequent participants and laureates of city competitions and festivals.
Traditionally, art groups of the youth center hold events: "Knowledge Day", "Young Debut" contest, "Student's Day", "Beauty of the Academy", etc.
A large role is given to physical education as one of the elements of organizing meaningful healthy leisure for students. Already traditionally held: autumn and spring track and field crosses, competitions in table tennis, basketball, min-football, volleyball, rhythmic dance competition, hiking trips to the historical places of Kharkiv region.
There are 6 sports sections: volleyball, basketball, health aerobics, table tennis, fitness.Of course, our pride is a comfortable hostel. It has all the necessary conditions for the implementation of educational tasks and recreation. The hostel has a sports room, a library point. The passion of students for musicians, literature, and art is reflected in the work of circles for interests and holding celebrations and commemoration evenings.
General information: Kharkiv Institute of Banking of the University of Banking of the National Bank of Ukraine trains and retrains specialists in the field of economics and entrepreneurship in the specialties "Banking", "Finance" and "Accounting and Auditing". Training courses: are held in the form of business classes and pre-entry courses. Business classes are classes of a professional orientation, students of business classes during the 10-11th years of study study "Fundamentals of Economics", "Computer Science and Computer Engineering", "Introduction to the Specialty", "Fundamentals of Economic Legislation". In courses on the educational process, the educational process is organized in full-time and part-time forms, including in weekend groups (on Saturdays). The term of study at the preparatory courses is 3 or 6 months. Classes start in October-November or January-February.
