How to apply rhinestones on gel polish and shellac

Shellac and gel polish are gaining momentum in popularity every day. And no wonder, because every woman strives for grooming and beauty. For a long time, the trend of nail decor has been bright colors and glitter of decorative elements. Knowing how to properly glue rhinestones on gel polish (and shellac is one of the varieties of such a coating), any girl who has the necessary materials can carry out such a procedure at home.

How to glue

Gluing rhinestones on shellac using nail or super glue is a relic of the past. This method does not ensure the stability of the design and is contrary to the aesthetics of modern technologies. In order for the gel polish with rhinestones to be wearable and reliable, the following sequence must be followed:

  • The procedure for processing the nail plate, degreasing, applying the base layer and color, is performed according to standard technology.
  • At the stage when the color is applied in two layers and the next step is the application of the top coat, all nails are covered with a top coat, on which the use of rhinestones is not provided. Then they must be dried in a UV lamp for 2 minutes.
  • On those nails where our rhinestones will be attached , a top coat is applied and, without drying it, a lay-out is made. Shining pebbles should be pressed tightly with an orange (or other wooden) stick so that they sink as deep as possible into the top layer.
  • The nail with pebbles is dried in a lamp for 2 minutes.
  • For the most reliable fixation, after drying, you need to carefully distribute the top fixer around each rhinestone, without touching them. If you cover the rhinestones with a top, they may lose their luster. For ease of application, use a thin brush.
  • Next, the decorated nails are again sent to the lamp for 2 minutes. If the top coat leaves a sticky layer, it must be removed after drying. This can be done with a cotton pad and a special liquid to remove the sticky layer, if there is none, alcohol is used.

How to attach rhinestones to gel polish is shown in the video tutorial:

After carefully watching this video instruction, even a person who does not have much experience in nail service will be able to stick these sparkling pebbles on shellac on their own. Correctly attached rhinestones do not require special care and will last until the next correction.

How and how to remove rhinestones from shellac or gel polish

Gluing rhinestones on gel polish is not difficult, but not everyone knows how to remove them correctly. There are two very simple ways:

  1. With nail clippers. Each master in the arsenal has such tweezers that can no longer be sharpened and are not used in work. They are perfect for removing everything you need from shellac.
This is done as follows: the tongs must be brought to the very base of the stone and pressed. This process is completely painless and allows you to quickly remove stones from gel polish.
  2. You can remove rhinestones from shellac using a router. To do this, use a sharp nozzle. From below, you need to make "tamping" movements, thanks to which cleaning takes place in a matter of minutes.

Only after the rhinestones are removed, a remover is applied and, according to the standard procedure, the shellac is removed from the nail plate.

  • A sense of proportion is the key to success in any business, the same with rhinestones. Not at all original and even ridiculously look nails randomly strewn with rhinestones. For beginners, it is useful to familiarize yourself with the most popular patterns laid out from rhinestones:

  • It is better to start laying out rhinestones from the free edge of the nail.
  • If the rhinestones are attached at the cuticle, do not glue them too close, a millimeter or two should retreat.
  • Most often, rhinestones are installed using an orange stick. But there is a special wax pencil, which is much easier to take a stone and attach to the nail:

  • The top coat should be thick, then the pattern laid out from the rhinestones will not spread and will remain in the desired position.
  • With a complete inlay of the nail, rhinestones should be placed from the middle. A longitudinal strip is laid out in the center, and farther from it - parallel straight lines.

There is nothing difficult in the procedure for gluing rhinestones on gel polish or shellac. Fantasy, accuracy and patience are the main assistants in this matter.
