They reproduce by spores.

The composition of the mushroom body:

  • essential oils (including aromatic);
  • enzymes;
  • chitin;

Dear readers, what do you think about the treatment with drugs based on poisonous mushrooms? Do you know recipes using such ingredients?

Poisons of plant and animal origin have long been used in medicine for the manufacture of medicines. Take, for example, red fly agaric (Latin name - Amanita muscaria). There are many legends and stories about the poisonous properties of this mushroom, but many gourmets like fly agaric dishes, and this is not a joke. If you know all the subtleties of cooking, you can cook quite edible and completely safe dishes from fly agarics. The whole secret is that muscarine, a poisonous fly agaric alkaloid, is contained only in the cap, or rather, in the skin covering it. However, you should not experiment with eating fly agarics, but it will be useful to get acquainted with its medicinal properties.

Medicinal use of fly agaric

The use of red fly agaric in official medicine is very limited, primarily due to the difficulty of cleaning from toxic alkaloids. For example, a protein toxin has been isolated from a fly agaric, which dissolves red blood cells. Boiling for 40 minutes destroys the poison, but the activity of other alkaloids is reduced. Of greatest interest for experiments is a specific dye, which has a high antitumor activity.

Unlike scientific medicine, traditional healers quite willingly use fly agaric in their practice, mostly as external means, and only a few dare to recommend preparations from a poisonous mushroom for internal use. Outwardly, fly agaric preparations are prescribed for rubbing with joint and rheumatic pains, osteochondrosis, etc. Oral intake of fly agaric tincture is practiced in the treatment of benign and malignant tumors of internal organs, diseases of the nervous system, and in a number of other cases.

Homeopaths most willingly use the medicinal properties of the fly agaric, preparing the drug "Agaricus muscarius". For the manufacture of tincture, the root and cap are used, previously peeled from the poisonous skin. A homeopathic remedy is prescribed in case of psychosomatic disorders, neurological and mental diseases (epilepsy, Witt's Dance, muscle cramps, spasms of the intestines and bladder, nervous overexcitation), as well as for the treatment of skin rashes associated with diseases of the internal organs.

Preparation of preparations from fly agaric

1. Tincture. To prepare the preparation, fresh hats (3-4 pieces) are used, which must be crushed and poured with vodka in a glass dish, so that the liquid covers the fly agaric layer 2 cm higher. Insist 2 weeks in the refrigerator. At the end of the infusion, strain the liquid. Tincture is used as an anesthetic (for rubbing) for radiculitis, rheumatism, joint pain, etc.

2. Extract. To prepare the extract, both fresh fly agaric (2 kg of caps) and powder (15 g) are used - the amount is indicated per half liter of alcohol of 45% strength. Insist in the refrigerator for 14 days. The alcohol extract is intended for the treatment of oncological problems of various localization (tumors of the mammary glands, oncology of the gastrointestinal tract, etc.). Treatment is carried out in courses of 3-4 months under the supervision of a phytomicotherapist. Dosage of the drug - 1 - 5 drops per 200 ml of water. In the treatment of oncological problems, traditional healers recommend treating courses of 12 days, with weekly breaks between them, and taking tincture in dosages from 1 to 12 drops (depending on the nature of the disease) in milk or mushroom juice (from or).

From the arsenal of traditional medicine

Folk healers have accumulated a wealth of experience in the use of the medicinal properties of fly agaric, but, unfortunately, scientific medicine is in no hurry to take this valuable drug into service.

Frequent seizures. Muscle cramps often occur due to disorders of the nervous system, and in this case, a short intake of fly agaric tincture often gives a quick therapeutic effect. It is recommended to take the tincture twice a day on an empty stomach (morning and evening), 5 drops of the drug in 100 ml of water.

Painful menstruation. Fly agaric tincture in the dosages indicated above helps to solve the problem of painful menstruation. It is necessary to take the drug daily in the morning, until a positive result appears. In the future, the frequency of taking the drug is reduced to 1 time per week. For the purpose of prevention, a single dose of the drug every month is further recommended.

Mastopathy. For the treatment of mastopathy in Western Ukraine, fly agaric tincture on cognac is popular. The technology for preparing this medicinal preparation is practically no different from the well-known method for obtaining tinctures: fly agarics are cut, placed in glass containers and poured with cognac. Infusion is continued for 14 days, periodically shaking the contents. It is recommended to take “cognac tincture” three times a day, 1 des. l. half an hour before meals.

Rheumocardia and rheumatism. This recipe comes from Russia and requires a Russian oven to implement it (in extreme cases, you can use an oven). Fresh fly agarics are tightly packed in an earthenware vessel, which is covered with a lid and smeared with dough. The vessel is placed in a heated oven on a sheet of asbestos to prevent burning of raw materials. After 3 hours, the structure is removed, opened and the separated juice is filtered through 2 layers of gauze, then diluted with alcohol in a ratio of 1:1. The mixture is poured into a dark glass bottle and infused for 2 weeks. The drug is used for rubbing.

– “Syrup“. The method of preparing the product resembles the previous recipe, with the only difference being that fly agarics are stacked in layers with salt sprinkled. Next, the vessel is placed in the oven (temperature in the range of 100 - 180 ° C) for 4 hours. The resulting syrupy liquid is not mixed with alcohol, but poured into a dark glass bottle and stored in a refrigerator. "Molasses" does not lose its medicinal properties for a long time. According to the assurances of traditional healers, this liquid has an analgesic effect in the treatment of rheumatism, joint and muscle pain, and breaks down “cold tumors”.

Contraindications and safety measures

A lethal dose is the amount of muscarine contained in 4-5 mushroom caps. The symptoms of poisoning differ depending on the severity. In mild cases, nervous overexcitation occurs, like euphoria, visual and auditory hallucinations. Poisoning of moderate severity manifests itself in the form of dizziness, confusion, disorders of the visual, speech and auditory centers, acute stomach pains, nausea (often vomiting). In severe poisoning, loss of consciousness, muscle cramps, delirium, and suffocation are possible. Death occurs from paralysis of the respiratory center.

Due to the high risk of getting severe poisoning, self-treatment with fly agaric preparations (internal use) is unacceptable!

Poisonous plants, used in the right proportions, are capable of curative effects and can be used for the treatment and prevention of many diseases. This can be said about the treatment of fly agaric. Means based on it have long been used in folk medicine. The main thing is to know how to take the mushroom so as to cure the disease, and not harm the body even more.

The healing properties of fly agaric

The fly agaric family unites more than 600 species. The main difference is the color of the hat. You can find mushrooms with white, red, orange, yellow, gray-pink and even brown caps. Toxic substances are in the skin, which covers the hat like a blanket.

Despite the fact that the fly agaric is a poisonous plant, effective medicines can be prepared from it, which are then used as painkillers, antihelminths, antitumor and anti-inflammatory drugs. They stop bleeding, help fight infections, activate the immune system, relieve spasms, and heal wounds. They help reduce pain in rheumatism, tumor processes, pathologies of the joints and blood vessels.

Means made from the fungus facilitate the fight against skin diseases, diabetes, tonsillitis, epilepsy, menopause symptoms. Help with visual impairment. After the use of such drugs, there is a surge of vigor and strength, so they are often used in the treatment of neuritis and neurosis.
