Step One: Laying a Strong Foundation

In order to extract resources from the moon in EVE online, you need to install POS - player owned station(English station, which belongs to the player). This is a base that is owned by a corporation based property. Deployment pic and is carried out in several stages:

  1. Control tower installed CT/Control tower) - control point and protective field generator;
  2. Defense systems are placed and activated - turrets and warp blockers;
  3. The production infrastructure is being assembled.

EVE is the only IMO, which allows players to fully immerse themselves in craft, and be full participants in the gameplay. Start playing EVE and who knows? Maybe you will be included in the list of influential magnates?

Production infrastructure for the development of the moons in EVE online

To extract useful resources from the moons in EVE online, you will need:

  • Extractor - a unit that directly "pumps out" resources from the moon;
  • Reactor - a device that converts raw materials into materials that can be used in production;
  • Repositories. Represented by two types: silos ( silos, main warehouses) and coupling arrays. The second type serves as an addition to the first. In order to load the production into the transport, the silo must be turned off. At this time, the raw material enters the buffer - coupling array. CA needed for those cases when the main storage is full.

Business plan for the development of the moon in the EVE universe online

The project to "explore" the moon in the EVE online universe must be carefully thought out and calculated. Hastily made decisions can become a "black hole" in the corporation's budget. Installation and maintenance pic and is extremely costly. You will need:

  • Purchase all systems that are needed for the extraction, processing and storage of resources;
  • Supply your brainchild with fuel - without it, the systems simply will not work. Ice isotopes are used as fuel, which will have to be mined or bought on the market. A small station "eats" approximately 100 million per month
  • Protect your property from encroachment by ill-wishers;
  • Organize the logistics system.

In order not to go bankrupt, you need to calculate how much profit you will receive from your industrial activities. Familiarize yourself with the demand in the market, consider as wide a range of options as possible - the future of your corporation can depend on this decision.

Where is moon mining allowed in EVE online?

Moon development in EVE online is allowed on systems with a security status ( security status/ss) 0.3 and below. The reason for this is clear: CCP maintain the atmosphere of competition in the game. Key points must be fought for, and resources must be valued. In the game, this state of affairs is explained by the monopoly right of states to this area of activity.

On one moon, it is impossible to extract all the materials necessary for the technological process. If your corporation consists of a small group of pilots, then it makes sense to mine basic materials and sell them on the market. If you have the necessary resources, you can install multiple pic ov and organize the production of advanced components.

→ Preparing to dig moons in eve online

Before starting to dig moons in eve online, each player needs to understand what materials it can give. In eve online, moons should only be mined after they have been scanned. During the scanning process, the player needs to launch several probes that look for ore and other useful materials on the moon. Those players who sell items in eve have replenished their wallets more than once with the help of digging moons. Mined minerals and ores can be sold for in-game currency. You can also sell or exchange isk for plexes (30-day game card) in eve. If you want to approach a moon that already has a station on it, then most likely your ship will be destroyed in one volley.

What do you need to start digging moons in eve online?

Any industrial ship with an excellent CPU stat and a fairly large hold. Players who sell isk in eve can afford a top ship of this class, but be prepared to flee as soon as you spot an established settlement.

Module for launching samples to the moon. In eve, the sale of such items is most often carried out on the market or on the game's forums. More information about the samples can be obtained on the sites of the game eve online.

Lunar probes. In eve, selling items of this kind brings in a good income, so finding samples should not be a problem. In the market in Eve, they can be found at almost any station and in any region.

Top slot: Trial Launcher

Top slot: A stealth device that will help you hide at the right moment.

Middle slot: Microwarpdrive.

Low slot: Nanofibres, which will increase the maneuverability and mobility of the ship.

In eve online, digging moons is possible only after exploration, and in each system there are about 50 moons, each of which requires one sample. Players who want to sell isk in eve are most often engaged in other types of income, but with the right approach, digging moons will bring huge profits. There are three types of samples. The amount of time required to complete exploration depends on the level and price of samples. The most expensive and powerful samples arrive with the result in five minutes, and the cheapest - in 40.

If you do not have enough funds to buy samples, you can buy lawsuits in online stores. After buying and fitting an industrial ship, you can finally go to scan the moons. A complete description of the ships in eve online can be found in the game databases.

For those who decide to sell isk in eve, this option of earning will seem very difficult, but it all depends on the experience and skills of the pilot. In eve online, each digging of moons takes less and less time, but as always, competent intelligence decides everything. I also advise you to sell items in eve that take up a lot of space in the hold, or leave them somewhere at another station.

If your corporation consists of a small group of pilots, then it makes sense to mine basic materials and sell them on the market. If you have the necessary resources, you can install multiple pic ov and organize the production of advanced components.

To install the elementary PIC, you will need the following things:
control tower
Control Towers is the heart of the POS. It performs all the basic administrative tasks, provides power, CPU and other parts of the structures. There are different types of Control Towers with different attributes and fuel requirements.

moon harvester
Moon Harvesters mines materials from the moons. For each Moon Harvester, you can select different materials that the moon contains. One Moon Harvesters mines one type of material.

Silo
Silo is a repository of materials mined by Moon Harvester. You need to have as many Silos as you have installed Moon Harvesters.

Installation of Control Towers
With all the supplies in the cargohold, find the moon in lowsec and warp to it.
Right click on the Control Tower in cargohold and select "launch for corp".
Right click on the Control Tower in space and select "anchor structure".
Set the Control Tower to the desired position, then right click on the arrow and select "anchor here".
When approaching the Control Tower, right click and select Access Resources. A new cargo window will open.
We transfer the necessary fuel to the POS cargo. (Required fuel resources are displayed on the Control Tower info screen)
Right click on the Control Tower and select "online". After a while, the POS will start up and start working.
We start to pick the moon
Anchorim Moon Harvester and Silo in the same way as Control Tower, but we are not in a hurry to launch them online.
Right click on the Control Tower and select manage, then select the "production" tab.
Click "Change type" on Moon Harvester and select one of the types of moon materials.
Click "Change type" on Silo and select the same material type.
We drag the icon with the image of the material to be included in the Moon Harvester listing and Silo. Click "apply" and "reload".
You can now online Moon Harvester and Silo in the same way as Control Tower.
The POS is now fucycling. Remember, it may take 2-3 cycles for the materials to appear in the Silo.
Do not forget to refuel the POS in time, this will ensure the functioning of its protective structures or the evil guys will fly in and bomb everything.

Mobile and can be moved
Can make Tech II minerals in the POS reactor (the only place where this can be done)
You can mine minerals from the moon from POS
POS has security features

Outpost (pros)

Fixed location after construction (currently)
Indestructible (for now)
You can dock to it just like you would to a station
You can produce, research and recycle on it
You can have offices there
You can charge for services and connections

POS (cons)

Need to constantly refuel
Can't dock
If you declare sovereignty, then it is shown on the global map and everyone will know that there is a POS in this sector (well, or an outpost)

Outpost (cons)

Building costs billions
Requires a freighter to build
No defensive capabilities (at the moment)
When it becomes captureable, it will have to be defended by players

The station operates intermittently. Now one period equals 3600 seconds, which is 1 hour. All resources for the operation of the station are withdrawn once a period. There are several types of consumed resources:
1. Keeping the station running (Enriched Uranium, Oxygen, Mechanical Parts, Coolant, Robotics and racial ore)
2. Supply of needs (CPU - Heavy water, Power - Liquid Ozone, Reinforced - Strontium Clathrates)

Resources from the first group must always be supplied in full, if something is missing, then the work of the station stops. In the second group, things are somewhat more complicated.
First, the enhanced mode is REINFORCED. This mode is turned on with knobs, and makes the station regenerate protection much faster (I can’t tell the numbers - I don’t know). However, in enhanced mode, the station CANNOT DO ANYTHING! Those. in fact, this aspect of the station operation can be ignored and Strontium Clathrates need not be supplied.
Secondly, the consumption of these resources is proportional to the load on the station.
An example is the Gallente Control Tower. CPU = 6750 tf, requires 150 Heavy Water. With a load of 1000 tf, 1000/6750 * 150 = 22 Heavy Water per hour will be required.

1.2 Calculation without ice
At the moment, the ice market has not fully formed and it is extremely difficult to estimate prices, so the calculation of ISK will be carried out WITHOUT ICE PRODUCTS.

Those. if you don’t buy ice, but work on your own without pay (read - the profit of the station = the profit of the diggers), then the maintenance of the station is pretty cheap.

1.3 Labour-intensive provision of ice.
The number of barge-hours (BC) required to ensure the operation of the station will be calculated. Several station configurations are taken into account (see clauses 2, 3.1)

Per hour will be spent:
790 Heavy water
107.2 Liquid Ozone
3000 (RACE ICE)

From the Galentian 1 unit of racial ice, the output is as follows:
blue ice
Heavy Water 100
Liquid Ozone 50
Strontium Clathrate 1
Oxygen Isotopes 250

Total units of Blue Ice required per hour:
8 Heavy water
3 Liquid Ozone
12 (RACE ICE)

Those. 12 units of Blue Ice are required per hour.

We assume that the miner has upgraded Ice Harvesting (1x multiplier) to level 4. Ice Harvester base production is 1 Blue Ice per 600 seconds. With skill, this will be: 600 / 1.2 = 500 seconds.
It takes 12 * 500 = 6000 seconds = 100 minutes to mine 12 ore with one harvester.
Need for barge-hours:
Procurer Retriever Covetor
Hour 1.7 0.8 0.6
Day 40.0 20.0 13.3
Week 280.0 140.0 93.3

Let's assume that they will dig on Retrievers for 2 hours a day. Then you need 10 diggers.

Another way is to buy Blue Ice in the market. In the same Essense, the price is 150,000 per unit. Total per hour 12 * 150,000 = 1,800,000 (Day = 43,200,000, Week = 302,400,000).

Thus, the maintenance of 6 stations will cost:
Hour Day Week
Without ice 220,995.00 5,303,880.00 37,127,160.00
Ice 1 800 000, 00 43 200 000 ,00 302 400 000,00
TOTAL 2,020,995.00 48,503,880.00 339,527,160.00

2. Configs
This is an estimate. Much depends on the moons and their ores. Now it is impossible to guess anything and I will proceed from the fact that each moon contains two minerals necessary for production.
One harvester mines 100 units of ore per hour. Each reactor can process 100 units of raw material (ore or Processed). Bottleneck: 200 units of Processed Material will be produced per hour. And the station of the 3rd type (p. 1.3) is able to digest only 100. Apparently, you will have to install 2 such stations.

Apparently, stations should be divided into three types:
1. Get Raw Material;
2. Get (take) Raw Material and produce Processed;
3. Take Processed and produce Advanced.

The current situation in Eve galactic technology dictates the need to use a Control Tower manufactured by Caldari or Gallente. Only these two stations produce enough CPU to run 1 reactor and 5 storages (there are reactions 1+1+1+1 -> 1). Let's consider Gallente:

2.1 Stationextractsraw material.
CPU power
Available 6750 3750000
Spent 6250 300000
percent 93 8
Silo 750 50000
Moon Harvesting Array 1500 10000
Silo 750 50000

Moon Harvesting Array 1500 10000
Silo 750 50000
Moon Harvesting Array 1500 10000
Silo 750 50000

As you can see, 5 harvesters can be pushed into the station. Whether it makes sense (to sell surpluses on the market), and whether this can actually be done, I do not know, because. never heard of anyone installing more than 3 harvesters in a station.
This station requires:
139 Heavy water
12 Liquid Ozone

2.2 The station mines + produces Processed.
CPU power
Available 6750 3750000

Moon Harvesting Array 1500 10000
Silo 750 50000
Reactor 2500 250000
Silo 750 50000

You should pay attention to the fact that it is also possible to push two reactors into one station, this will require 2500 + 2500 + 750 + 750 = 6700 CPU. This would require at least two stations dedicated to pure mining, and the production volume from one moon would exceed the capacity of the reactor, and an excess of raw materials would inevitably form.

Required:
128 Heavy water
16.8 Liquid Ozone

2.3 The station produces Advanced.
(Fermionic Condensates, Ferrogel, Hypersynaptic Fybers, Nanotransistors, Phenolic Composites.)
The production of these materials requires a minimum of 4 storages and one reactor. Such a station will no longer be capable of anything (unless Sentry, requiring only Powergrid). The only config that is not subject to doubt.

They shared the success of introducing new types of structures:

  • 7800 different player corporations own at least one Upwell structure.

  • The four alliances own strongholds with more traffic and trade volume than any of the NPC stations, with the exception of the four main trading hubs and systems where new pilots enter the game. The busiest of them overtook the Rens system in terms of trading volumes.

  • In 2017, EVE Online's 100 Most Active Industrial Enterprises ranking (measured by the cost of manufactured products) consists of 13 NPC stations, one outpost, one POS block, one stronghold, and 84 industrial complexes.
The success of the new approach to structures was obvious, and the given statistics only confirm this fact. But the most interesting information is contained in the second devblog, in which we were told about the new mechanics of mining lunar materials.

The main drawback of the current mechanics of mining lunar materials is that it is a highly profitable passive income. Rare lunar resources are incredibly in demand. It is only necessary once to set up the mining complex and transport raw materials or ready-made reactions from these raw materials to the market. Of course, you also need to control the space in which valuable moons are located. This is where the efforts of all major alliances are focused.

A side effect of this relatively simple approach to filling the wallet has become the standard scheme for many MMOs, where the strong get valuable resources that make them even stronger.

The new mechanics of mining lunar resources brings collective activity to this process. True, so far only in the form of a bonus, and not a default requirement.

Before I get into the details, I want to remind you that a new ore mining mechanic will be introduced into the game this summer. Although there is still no official confirmation, the new dev blogs implicitly point to this. Because now the active phase of lunar mining is also tied to mining ships.

But let's go in order. The next new type of structure will be Mining Platforms. If such a platform is placed in the orbit of a particular moon, it will be possible to break off pieces from a celestial body. Although visually all this will resemble eating an apple, the process is actually endless. In the end, we won’t get any stub of the moon, you shouldn’t worry. For the process itself, the breakaway piece is important:

  • The processing complex, installed close enough to the moon, can be equipped with a drilling station-module. Equipping this module will only be possible if there are no drills installed on other processing facilities around this moon; thus, only one structure can mine at a time. The module gives the owner the ability to specify the size of the piece of lunar rock to be chipped off, while the larger its size, the longer the preparation will take.

  • Next, the module separates this piece from the surface of the moon and begins to pull it towards the structure. The process takes from one to several weeks, depending on the choice made by the owner of the structure. The movement of the rock can be tracked by an outside observer, which will be a kind of method for estimating the end time of this part of the operation.

  • When the rock's journey into space is complete, it can be blasted, leaving a cluster of asteroids available for mining. The exact time of detonation is controlled by the owner of the complex, but only within certain limits. If the rock is left unattended for a while, it will disintegrate by itself, resulting in the formation of the same cluster of asteroids.

  • It will contain new types of valuable ores, the processing of which produces lunar materials. The composition of an asteroid cluster will depend on the composition of materials in the moon itself. The location of the cluster will generally not allow efficient mining within the radius of the entrance to the dock, but it will allow the pilot operating the complex to cover his allies and / or attack intruders.

  • After the explosion, the drilling module will be able to start splitting a new section of the lunar surface, i.e. start a new cycle.
Before us is a new collective activity for the extraction of lunar materials. The authors define its tasks as follows:
The new system should support gameplay that is suitable for many types of players, contain a strategic aspect, and reward players' cooperation with each other.

Although passive mining of lunar materials remains, at least until the old structures are retired, moon owners will be able to obtain much more materials after the introduction of Mining Platforms if live players are involved in the process. Which, of course, is a wonderful initiative with far-reaching plans.

Since 2010, CCP has purposefully linked player activity to the attractiveness of territories. In recent years, many correct steps have been taken in this direction. The goal is simple - without living people, the territories should not have much value.

If the new ore mining mechanic turns out to be really interesting, compared to the current meditative sorting through of space stones, peaceful players will get both more interesting gameplay and more demand in the gameplay.

Good initiative. It is a pity that, like last year, it is prudently served to the players in the form of a sweet pill associated with the monetization of the project. After all, you just want to say “well done!”, without any “buts”.
