Life after death, or the afterlife, is a religious and philosophical idea of the continuation of a person's conscious life after death. In most cases, such ideas are due to the belief in the immortality of the soul, which is characteristic of most religious and religious-philosophical worldviews.

Among the main presentations:

1) resurrection of the dead - people will be resurrected by God after death;
2) reincarnation - the human soul returns to the material world in new incarnations;
3) posthumous retribution - after death, the soul of a person goes to hell or heaven, depending on the earthly life of a person. (Also read about.)

Doctors in the intensive care unit of a Canadian hospital registered an unusual case. They turned off the life support system in four terminal patients. In three of them, the brain behaved in a normal way - it stopped working shortly after the shutdown. In the fourth patient, the brain emitted waves for another 10 minutes and 38 seconds, despite the fact that the doctors declared him dead, using the same set of measures as in the cases of his “colleagues”.

The brain of the fourth patient seemed to be in a deep sleep, although his body showed no signs of life - no pulse, no blood pressure, no reaction to light. Previously, brain waves were recorded in rats after decapitation, but in those situations there was only one wave.

— A scientific view of death

In Seattle, biologist Mark Roth is experimenting with putting animals into suspended animation using chemicals that slow their heart rate and metabolism to levels similar to those seen during hibernation. His goal is to make people who have experienced a heart attack "a little bit immortal" until they overcome the consequences of the crisis that has put them on the brink of life and death.

In Baltimore and Pittsburgh, trauma teams led by surgeon Sam Tischerman are conducting clinical trials in which patients with gunshot and stab wounds have their body temperature lowered to slow bleeding for the period needed to receive stitches. These doctors use the cold for the same purpose that Roth uses chemical compounds: it allows you to "kill" patients for a while in order to ultimately save their lives.

In Arizona, cryopreservation specialists store the bodies of more than 130 of their clients in a frozen state - this is also a kind of "border zone". They hope that sometime in the distant future, maybe in a few centuries, these people can be thawed and revived, and by that time medicine will be able to cure the diseases from which they died.

In India, neuroscientist Richard Davidson is studying Buddhist monks who fell into a state known as thukdam, in which biological signs of life disappear, but the body does not seem to decompose for a week or more. Davidson is trying to record some activity in the brains of these monks, hoping to find out what happens after the circulation stops.

And in New York, Sam Parnia talks enthusiastically about the possibilities of "delayed resuscitation." According to him, cardiopulmonary resuscitation works better than is commonly believed, and under certain conditions - when the body temperature is lowered, chest compressions are correctly regulated in depth and rhythm, and oxygen is supplied slowly to avoid tissue damage - some patients can be returned. to life even after they've been heartbroken for several hours, and often without long-term negative effects. The doctor is now investigating one of the most mysterious aspects of returning from the dead: why do so many near-death survivors describe their minds being separated from their bodies? What can these sensations tell us about the nature of the "border zone" and about death itself?

At some point in life, more often from a certain age, when relatives and friends pass away, a person tends to ask questions about death and a possible life after death. We have already written materials on this topic, and you can read the answers to some questions.

But it seems that the number of questions is only growing and we want to explore this topic a little deeper.

Life is eternal

In this article, we will not give arguments for and against the existence of life after death. We will proceed from the fact that life after the death of the body exists.

Over the past 50–70 years, tens of thousands of written testimonies and research results have been accumulated in medicine and psychology, which allow us to remove the veil from this mystery.

It is worth noting that, on the one hand, all recorded cases of experiencing a post-mortem experience or travel differ from each other. But, on the other hand, they all coincide in key points.

Such as

  • death is simply a transition from one form of life to another;
  • when consciousness leaves the body, it simply passes into other worlds and universes;
  • the soul, freed from physical experiences, experiences extraordinary lightness, bliss and sharpening of all feelings;
  • feeling of flight
  • the spiritual worlds are saturated with light and love;
  • in the posthumous world there is no time and space familiar to man;
  • consciousness does not work the way it does during life in the body, everything is perceived and grasped almost instantly;
  • the eternity of life is realized.

Life after death: recorded real cases and recorded facts

The number of recorded eyewitness accounts of out-of-body experiences to date is so great that a large encyclopedia could be made from them. Or maybe even a small library.

Perhaps the largest number of described cases about life after death can be found in the books of Michael Newton, Ian Stevenson, Raymond Moody, Robert Monroe and Edgar Cayce.

Several thousand transcribed audio recordings of regressive hypnosis sessions about the life of the soul between incarnations can only be found in the books of Michael Newton.

Michael Newton began using regressive hypnosis to treat his patients, especially those who were no longer able to be helped by conventional medicine and psychology.

At first, he was surprised to find that many serious problems in life, including the health of patients, had their causes in past lives.

After several decades of research, Newton not only developed a mechanism for treating complex physical and psychological traumas that originated in past incarnations, but also collected the largest amount of evidence to date for the existence of an afterlife.

Michael Newton's first book, Journeys of the Soul, was released in 1994, followed by several more books on life in the spirit worlds.

These books describe not only the mechanism of the transition of the soul from one life to another, but also how we choose our birth, our parents, relatives, friends, trials and circumstances of life.

In one of the prefaces to his book, Michael Newton wrote: “We are all waiting for the return home. There, where only pure, unconditional love, compassion and harmony exist side by side. You need to understand that you are currently in school, the school of Earth, and when the training is over, this loving harmony is waiting for you. It must be remembered that every experience that you have during your current life contributes to personal, spiritual growth. No matter when or how your training ends, you will return home to the unconditional love that is always available and waiting for all of us.”

But the main thing is not only that Newton collected the largest amount of detailed evidence, he also developed a tool that allows anyone who wants to get their own experience.

Today, regressive hypnosis is also present in Russia, and if you want to resolve your doubts about the existence of an immortal soul, now you have the opportunity to check it out for yourself.

To do this, it is enough to find on the Internet the contacts of a specialist in regressive hypnosis. However, do not be too lazy to read the reviews to avoid unpleasant disappointment.

Today, books are not the only source of information about life after death. Movies and series are made on this topic.

One of the most famous films on this subject, based on the true events of "Heaven is Real" 2014. The film was based on the book "Heaven is Real" by Todd Barpoe.

Shot from the film "Heaven is Real"

A book about the story of a 4-year-old boy who survived a clinical death during an operation, went to heaven and returned back, written by his father.

This story is amazing in its details. Being out of the body, 4-year-old baby Kilton clearly saw what the doctors and his parents were doing. Which is exactly what is happening in reality.

Kilton describes the heavens and their inhabitants in great detail, although his heart stopped for only a few minutes. During his stay in heaven, the boy learns such details about the life of the family that, according to his father, he could not know, at least because of his age.

The child, during his out-of-body journey, saw dead relatives, angels, Jesus and even the Virgin Mary, apparently due to his Catholic upbringing. The boy watched the past and the near future.

The events described in the book forced Father Kilton to completely reconsider his views on life, death and what awaits us after death.

Interesting cases and evidence of eternal life

An interesting incident happened a few years ago with our compatriot Vladimir Efremov.

Vladimir Grigorievich had a spontaneous exit from the body due to cardiac arrest. In a word, Vladimir Grigorievich survived a clinical death in February 2014, about which he told his relatives and colleagues in all details.

And it seemed that you would think of another case confirming the existence of an afterlife. But the fact is that Vladimir Efremov is not just an ordinary person, not a psychic, but a scientist with an impeccable reputation in his circles.

And according to Vladimir Grigoryevich himself, before he had a chance to experience clinical death, he considered himself an atheist and perceived stories about the afterlife as a dope of religion. He devoted most of his professional life to the development of rocket systems and space engines.

Therefore, for Efremov himself, the experience of contact with the other world was very unexpected, but it largely changed his views on the nature of reality.

It is noteworthy that in his experience there is also light, serenity, extraordinary clarity of perception, a pipe (tunnel) and no sense of time and space.

But, since Vladimir Efremov is a scientist, designer of aircraft and spacecraft, he gives a very interesting description of the world in which his consciousness found itself. He explains it with physical and mathematical concepts, which are unusually far from religious ideas.

He notes that a person in the afterlife sees what he wants to see, which is why there are so many differences in the descriptions. Despite the former atheism, Vladimir Grigorievich noted that the presence of God was felt everywhere.

There was no visible form of God, but his presence was unmistakable. Later, Efremov even made a presentation on this topic to his colleagues. Listen to the eyewitness account.

Dalai Lama

One of the greatest proofs of eternal life is known to many, just few people have thought about it. The Nobel Peace Prize winner, the spiritual leader of Tibet, the Dalai Lama XIV, is the 14th incarnation of the consciousness (soul) of the Dalai Lama I.

But they started the tradition of reincarnation of the main spiritual leader, to preserve the purity of knowledge even earlier. In the Tibetan Kagyu lineage, the highest incarnate Lamu is called the Karmapa. And now the Karmapa is going through his 17th incarnation.

Based on the story of the death of Karmapa 16 and the search for a child in which he will be reborn, the famous film "Little Buddha" was shot.

In the traditions of Buddhism and Hinduism, in general, the practice of repeated incarnations is very widespread. But it is especially widely known in Tibetan Buddhism.

It is not only the Supreme Lamas who are reborn, such as the Dalai Lama or the Karmapa. After death, almost without interruption, their closest students come to a new human body, whose task is to recognize the Lama's soul in the child.

There is a whole ritual of recognition, including recognition among the many personal items from a previous incarnation. And everyone is free to decide for himself whether he believes or not in these stories.

But in the political life of the world, some tend to take it seriously.

Thus, the new reincarnation of the Dalai Lama is always recognized by the Pancha Lama, who in turn is also reborn after each death. It is the Pancha Lama who finally confirms that the child is the embodiment of the consciousness of the Dalai Lama.

And it so happened that the current Pancha Lama is still a child and lives in China. Moreover, he cannot leave this country, because the Chinese government needs him, so that without their participation it would not be possible to determine the new incarnation of the Dalai Lama.

Therefore, in the last few years, the spiritual leader of Tibet sometimes jokes and says that perhaps he will no longer incarnate or incarnate in a female body. Of course, one can object that these are Buddhists and they have such beliefs and this is not evidence. But it seems that the heads of some states perceive it differently.

Bali - "Island of the Gods"

Another interesting fact takes place in Indonesia, on the Hindu island of Bali. In Hinduism, the theory of reincarnation is key and the inhabitants of the island deeply believe in it. They believe so strongly that during the cremation of the body, the relatives of the deceased ask the gods to allow the soul, if it wants to be born again on earth, to be born again in Bali.

Which is quite understandable, the island justifies its name "Isle of the Gods". Moreover, if the family of the deceased is prosperous, she is asked to return to the family.

When a child reaches 3 years old, there is a tradition to take him to a special clergyman who has the ability to determine which soul has come into this body. And sometimes it turns out to be the soul of a great-grandmother, or an uncle. And the existence of the entire island, practically a small state, is determined by these beliefs.

The view of modern science on life after death

The views of science on death and life have changed a lot over the past 50-70 years, largely due to the development of quantum physics and biology. In recent decades, scientists have come closer than ever to unraveling what happens to consciousness after life leaves the body.

If 100 years ago science denied the existence of consciousness or soul, today it is already a generally accepted fact, as well as the fact that the experimenter's consciousness affects the results of the experiment.

So does the soul exist, and is Consciousness immortal from a scientific point of view? - Yes

Neuroscientist Christoph Koch said in April 2016 at a meeting of scientists with the Dalai Lama 14 that the latest theories in brain science consider consciousness as a property that is inherent in everything that exists.

Consciousness is inherent in everything and is present everywhere, just as gravity acts on all objects without exception.

The second life in our days has received the theory of "Panpsychism", - the theory of a single universal consciousness. This theory is present in Buddhism, in Greek philosophies and pagan traditions. But for the first time, Panpsychism is supported by science.

Giulio Tononi, the author of the famous modern theory of consciousness "Integrated Information Theory" states the following: "consciousness exists in physical systems in the form of diverse and multilaterally interconnected fragments of information."

Christopher Koch and Giulio Tononi made a startling statement for modern science:

"Consciousness is a fundamental quality inherent in reality."

Based on this hypothesis, Koch and Tononi came up with a unit of measurement for consciousness and called it phi. Scientists have already developed a test that measures phi in the human brain.

A magnetic pulse is sent to the human brain and it is measured how the signal is reflected in the neurons of the brain.

The longer and clearer the reverberation of the brain in response to a magnetic stimulus, the more consciousness a person has.

Using this technique, you can determine what state a person is in, whether he is awake, sleeping, or under anesthesia.

This method of measuring consciousness has found wide use in medicine. The phi level helps to accurately determine whether the actual death has occurred or the patient is in a vegetative state.

The test helps to find out at what time consciousness begins to develop in the fetus and how clearly a person in a state of dementia or dementia is aware of himself.

Some evidence for the existence of the soul and its immortality

Here again we are faced with what can be considered proof of the existence of the soul. In court cases, the testimony of witnesses is evidence in favor of the innocence and guilt of suspects.

And for most of us, the stories of people, especially loved ones, who have experienced a post-mortem experience or the separation of the soul from the body will be evidence of the presence of the soul. However, it is not certain that scientists will accept this evidence as such.

Where is the point at which stories and myths become scientifically proven?

Moreover, today we already know that many of the inventions of the human mind that we use now were present only in fantastic works 200-300 years ago.

The simplest example of this is an airplane.

Evidence from psychiatrist Jim Tucker

So let's look at some of the cases described by psychiatrist Jim B. Tucker as evidence for the existence of the soul. Moreover, what can be a great proof of the immortality of the soul, if not reincarnation or the memory of one's past incarnations?

Like Ian Stevenson, Jim has been researching reincarnation for decades based on children's memories of past lives.

In his book Life Before Life: A Scientific Study of Childhood Past Life Memories, he provides an overview of more than 40 years of reincarnation research at the University of Virginia.

The research was based on children's accurate memories of their past incarnations.

The book, among other things, discusses birthmarks and birth defects that are present in children and correlate with the cause of death in a previous incarnation.

Jim began investigating this issue after he encountered a fairly frequent request from parents who claimed that their babies tell very consistent stories about their past lives.

Names, occupation, place of residence and circumstances of death are given. What a surprise it was when some of the stories were confirmed: houses were found in which children lived in their previous incarnations and graves where they were buried.

There were too many such cases to consider this a coincidence or a hoax. Moreover, in some cases, young children as young as 2-4 years of age already possessed the skills they claimed to have mastered in past lives. Here are some examples.

Baby Hunter incarnation

Hunter, a 2-year-old toddler, told his parents that he was a multiple golf champion. He lived in the United States of America in the mid-30s and his name was Bobby Jones. At the same time, in his two years, Hunter played golf well.

So good that he was allowed to study in the section, despite the existing age restrictions of 5 years. Not surprisingly, the parents decided to test their son. They printed out photographs of several golfers and asked the boy to identify himself.

Hunter pointed to the photo of Bobby Jones without hesitation. By the age of seven, memories of a past life began to blur, but the boy still plays golf and has already won several competitions.

James incarnation

Another example is about the boy James. He was about 2.5 years old when he spoke about his past life and how he died. At first, the child began to have nightmares about the plane crash.

But one day, James told his mother that he was a military pilot and died in a plane crash during the war with Japan. His plane was shot down near the island of Iota. The boy described in detail how the bomb hit the engine and the plane began to fall into the ocean.

He remembered that in a past life his name was James Huston, he grew up in Pennsylvania, and his father suffered from alcoholism.

The boy's father turned to the military archive, where it turned out that a pilot named James Huston really existed. He took part in the air operation off the islands of Japan during the Second World War. Houston died off the island of Iota, exactly as the child described.

Reincarnation researcher Ian Stevens

The books of another no less famous reincarnation researcher, Ian Stevens, contain about 3 thousand verified and confirmed childhood memories of past incarnations. Unfortunately, his books have not yet been translated into Russian, and so far are only available in English.

His first book was published in 1997 and was titled Stevenson's Reincarnation and Biology: Contributions to the Etiology of Birthmarks and Birth Defects.

Two hundred cases of birth defects or birthmarks in children that could not be explained medically or genetically were examined in the course of this book. At the same time, the children themselves explained their origin by events from past lives.

For example, there have been cases of children with abnormal or missing fingers. Children with such defects often remembered the circumstances under which these injuries were received, where and at what age. Many of the stories were corroborated by later found death certificates and even by living relatives.

There was a boy with moles, which in shape very much resembled the entrance and exit holes from a bullet wound. The boy himself claimed to have died from a gunshot to the head. He remembered his name and the house he lived in.

The deceased's sister was later found, confirming her brother's name and the fact that he had shot himself in the head.

All the thousands and thousands of such cases recorded to date are proof not only of the existence of the soul, but also of its immortality. Moreover, thanks to many years of research by Ian Stevenson, Jim B. Tucker, Michael Newton and others, we know that sometimes no more than 6 years can pass between soul incarnations.

In general, according to the research of Michael Newton, the soul itself chooses how soon and for what it wants to incarnate again.

Another proof of the existence of the soul came from the discovery of the atom.

The discovery of the atom and its structure led to the fact that scientists, especially quantum physicists, were forced to admit that at the quantum level, everything that exists in the universe, absolutely everything, is one.

An atom is 90 percent space (emptiness), which means that all living and non-living bodies, including the human body, consist of the same space.

It is noteworthy that more and more quantum physicists are now practicing Eastern meditation practices, as they believe they allow one to experience this fact of oneness.

John Hagelin, a famous quantum physicist and popularizer of science, in one of his interviews said that for all quantum physicists our unity at the subatomic level is a proven fact.

But if you want not only to know this, but to experience it for yourself, take up meditation, because it will help you find access to this space of peace and love, which is already present inside everyone, but is simply not realized.

You can call it God, soul or higher intelligence, the fact of its existence will not change in any way.

Is it possible for mediums, psychics and many creative personalities to connect to this space?

The opinion of religions about death

The opinion of all religions about death converges in one thing - with death in this world you are born in another. But the descriptions of the other worlds in the Bible, the Koran, Kabbalah, the Vedas and other religious books differ in accordance with the cultural characteristics of the countries where this or that religion was born.

But taking into account the hypothesis that the soul after death sees those worlds that it is inclined and wants to see, we can conclude that all differences in religious views on life after death are explained precisely by differences in faith and beliefs.

Spiritualism: communication with the departed

It seems that a person has always had a desire to communicate with the dead. Because throughout the existence of human culture, there were people who were able to communicate with the spirits of dead ancestors.

In the Middle Ages, shamans, priests and sorcerers did this, in our time people with such abilities are called mediums or psychics.

If you watch TV at least occasionally, you may have come across a television show that shows conversations with the spirits of the dead.

One of the most famous shows in which communication with the departed is the key topic is the “Battle of Psychics” on TNT.

It is difficult to say how real what the viewer sees on the screen. But one thing is certain, it's not hard to find someone to help you connect with a deceased loved one these days.

But when choosing a medium, you should take care of getting proven recommendations. At the same time, you can try to set up this connection yourself.

Yes, not everyone has psychic abilities, but many can develop them. It is not uncommon for communication with the dead to occur on its own, spontaneously.

This usually happens up to 40 days after death, until the time has come for the soul to fly away from the earthly plane. During this period, communication can occur on its own, especially if the deceased has something to tell you and you are emotionally open to such communication.

Human nature can never accept that immortality is impossible. Moreover, the immortality of the soul for many is an indisputable fact.

And more recently, scientists have found evidence that physical death is not the absolute end of human existence and there is still something beyond the boundaries of life.

You can imagine how happy this discovery made people. After all, death, like birth, is the most mysterious and unknown state of man. There are many questions associated with them. For example, why a person is born and starts life from scratch, why he dies, etc.

A person throughout his conscious life is trying to deceive fate in order to prolong his existence in this world. Mankind is trying to calculate the formula of immortality in order to understand whether the words "death" and "end" are synonyms.

Scientists have found evidence that life after death exists

However, recent research has brought science and religion together: death is not the end. After all, only beyond the bounds of life can a person discover a new form of being. Moreover, scientists are sure that every person can remember his past life. And this means that death is not the end, and there, beyond the line, there is another life. Unknown to mankind, but life.

However, if the transmigration of souls exists, then a person must remember not only all his previous lives, but also deaths, while not everyone can survive this experience.

The phenomenon of the transfer of consciousness from one physical shell to another has been haunting the minds of mankind for many centuries. The first mention of reincarnations are found in the Vedas - the oldest sacred scriptures of Hinduism.

According to the Vedas, any living being resides in two material bodies - in the gross and in the subtle. And they function only due to the presence of the soul in them. When the gross body finally wears out and becomes unusable, the soul leaves it in another - a subtle body. This is death. And when the soul finds a new and suitable physical body according to the mindset, the miracle of birth takes place.

The transition from one body to another, moreover, the transfer of the same physical defects from one life to another, was described in detail by the famous psychiatrist Ian Stevenson. He began to study the mysterious experience of reincarnation back in the sixties of the last century. Stevenson analyzed more than two thousand cases of unique reincarnation in different parts of the planet. Through research, the scientist came to a sensational conclusion. It turns out that those who have experienced reincarnation will have the same defects in their new incarnations as in a past life. It can be scars or moles, stuttering or another defect.

Incredibly, the conclusions of the scientist can only mean one thing: after death, everyone is destined to be born again, but in a different time. Moreover, a third of the children whose stories Stevenson studied had birth defects. So, a boy with a rough growth on the back of his head, under hypnosis, remembered that in a past life he was hacked to death with an ax. Stevenson found a family where a man who was killed with an ax once really lived. And the nature of his wound was like a pattern for a scar on the boy's head.

Another child, who was born as if with chopped off fingers on his hand, said that he was injured while working in the field. And again there were people who confirmed to Stevenson that once in the field a man died of blood loss, who hit his fingers in a thresher.

Thanks to the research of Professor Stevenson, supporters of the theory of the transmigration of souls consider reincarnation to be a scientifically proven fact. Moreover, they claim that almost every person is able to view their past lives even in a dream.

And the state of deja vu, when suddenly there is a feeling that somewhere this has already happened to a person, may well be a flash of memory about previous lives.

The first scientific explanation that life does not end with the physical death of a person was given by Tsiolkovsky. He argued that absolute death is impossible, because the universe is alive. And the souls that left the perishable bodies, Tsiolkovsky described as indivisible atoms, wandering around the universe. This was the first scientific theory about the immortality of the soul, according to which the death of the physical body does not mean the complete disappearance of the consciousness of the deceased person.

But for modern science, faith in the immortality of the soul is, of course, not enough. Humanity still does not agree that physical death is invincible, and is intensely looking for weapons against it.

The proof of life after death for some scientists is the unique experience of cryonics, when the human body is frozen and kept in liquid nitrogen until methods are found to restore any damaged cells and tissues in the body. And the latest research by scientists proves that such technologies have already been found, however, only a small part of these developments is in the public domain. The results of the main studies are kept under the heading "secret". Such technologies could only be dreamed of ten years ago.

Today, science can already freeze a person in order to revive it at the right time, it creates a controlled model of an Avatar robot, but it still has no idea how to relocate a soul. And this means that at one moment humanity may face a huge problem - the creation of soulless machines that can never replace a person.

Therefore, today, scientists are sure, cryonics is the only method for the revival of the human race.

In Russia, only three people used it. They are frozen and waiting for the future, eighteen more have contracted for cryopreservation after death.

The fact that the death of a living organism can be prevented by freezing, scientists thought several centuries ago. The first scientific experiments on freezing animals were carried out back in the seventeenth century, but only three hundred years later, in 1962, the American physicist Robert Etinger finally promised people what they had dreamed of throughout the history of mankind - immortality.

The professor proposed to freeze people immediately after death and keep them in this state until science finds a way to resurrect the dead. Then the frozen ones can be warmed up and revived. According to scientists, a person will retain absolutely everything, it will be the same person who was before death. And the same thing will happen to his soul that happens to her in the hospital, when the patient is resuscitated.

It remains only to decide what age to enter in the passport of a new citizen. After all, the resurrection can occur both in twenty and in a hundred or two hundred years.

The famous geneticist Gennady Berdyshev suggests that it will take another fifty years to develop such technologies. But the fact that immortality is a reality, the scientist does not doubt.

Today, Gennady Berdyshev built a pyramid in his dacha, an exact copy of the Egyptian one, but from logs, in which he is going to dump his years. According to Berdyshev, the pyramid is a unique hospital where time stops. Its proportions are strictly calculated according to the ancient formula. Gennady Dmitrievich assures: it is enough to spend fifteen minutes a day inside such a pyramid, and the years will begin to count down.

But the pyramid is not the only ingredient in this eminent scientist's recipe for longevity. About the secrets of youth, he knows, if not everything, then almost everything. Back in 1977, he became one of the initiators of the opening of the Institute of Juvenology in Moscow. Gennady Dmitrievich led a group of Korean doctors who rejuvenated Kim Il Sung. He was even able to extend the life of the Korean leader to ninety-two years.

A few centuries ago, life expectancy on Earth, for example, in Europe, did not exceed forty years. A modern person lives on average for sixty-seventy years, but even this time is catastrophically short. And recently, the opinions of scientists converge: the biological program for a person is supposed to live for at least one hundred and twenty years. In this case, it turns out that humanity simply does not live to its real old age.

Some experts are sure that the processes occurring in the body at the age of seventy are premature old age. Russian scientists were the first in the world to develop a unique medicine that prolongs life to one hundred and ten or one hundred and twenty years, which means it cures old age. The peptide bioregulators contained in the drug restore damaged areas of cells, and the biological age of a person increases.

As reincarnation psychologists and therapists say, a person's life is connected with his death. For example, a person who does not believe in God and leads a completely “earthly” life, which means that he is afraid of death, for the most part does not realize that he is dying, and after death finds himself in a “gray space”.

At the same time, the soul retains the memory of all its past incarnations. And this experience leaves its mark on a new life. And to deal with the causes of failures, problems and illnesses that people often cannot cope with on their own, trainings on remembering from past lives help. Experts say that having seen their mistakes in past lives, people in this life begin to be more conscious of their decisions.

Visions from a past life prove that there is a huge information field in the Universe. After all, the law of the conservation of energy says that nothing in life disappears anywhere and does not appear from nothing, but only passes from one state to another.

This means that after death, each of us turns into something like a clot of energy that carries all the information about past incarnations, which then again incarnate into a new form of life.

And it is quite possible that someday we will be born in a different time and in a different space. And remembering a past life is useful not only to remember past problems, but also to think about your destiny.

Death is still stronger than life, but under the pressure of scientific developments, its defense is weakening. And who knows, the time may come when death will open the way for us to another - eternal life.

Seven-year-old Katie was found in a swimming pool; she drowned. Pediatrician and researcher Melvin Morse resuscitated her in the emergency room, but Katie remained—she had cerebral edema, no gag reflex—and was breathing on a ventilator. Doctors estimated Katie's chances of survival at 10%.

Surprisingly, in three days she completely recovered.

When the girl arrived at the hospital to undergo a re-examination, she immediately recognized Morse and told her mother: “This is him, the bearded man. At first there was a tall doctor without a beard, and then he came. Immediately I was in a large room, and after that I was transferred to a smaller room, where I was x-rayed.”

Katie gave other details, such as how a tube was inserted into her nose - everything told was exactly what happened, but she "saw" what was happening when her eyes were closed and her brain was in a deep coma.

Morse asked her what she remembered about nearly drowning. After all, if she choked because of a seizure, everything could happen again.

Katie elaborated, “Are you asking about my visit to Heavenly Father?” This answer seemed to Morse very curious, and the doctor replied: “That would be a good place to start. Tell me how you met the Heavenly Father.”

“I saw Jesus and the Heavenly Father,” Katie replied. Maybe she noticed the shocked expression on the doctor's face, or maybe it was all about her natural shyness. Whatever it was, this time Katie did not continue.

A week later, the girl showed more talkativeness. She did not remember anything from how she drowned, but she remembered that at first it was dark, then a tunnel appeared, through which Elizabeth came. She described her as "tall and beautiful", with bright golden hair.

Elizabeth walked the girl through the tunnel, where she met several people, including her late grandfather, two little boys named Mark and Andy, and others. In addition, Katie said that she visited her earthly home, where she saw her brothers pushing a toy soldier in a jeep, and her mother cooking chicken and rice. She even remembered what everyone was wearing. Katie's parents were amazed at how accurately she described everything.

Eventually, Elizabeth took the girl to meet her Heavenly Father and Jesus. The father asked if she wanted to return home. Katie wanted. Jesus asked if she wanted to see her mother. Katie said yes and woke up.

Katie talked for almost an hour, but that hour changed Dr. Morse's life. He began questioning the nurses in the intensive care unit. They remembered that when she woke up, the girl first asked: “Where are Mark and Andy?” She asked about them several times. Morse thought long and hard about Katie and how she talked about her experience. Although the girl was very shy, she spoke "confidently and convincingly" about what happened to her.

The doctor questioned Katie's parents for several hours about the girl's childhood; anything that could explain such feelings. Katie's parents are Mormons and didn't tell her about the tunnels or anything like that. When Katie's grandfather passed away, her mother explained that death is like saying goodbye to someone who is sailing away in a boat, while friends and relatives remain on the shore.

Dr. Morse wrote about this case in the American Journal of Childhood Illness and began to think about further research. He received a grant for cancer research, but Janet Lunsford, who was in charge of distributing grants, supported his desire to start studying NDE in children at Seattle Children's Hospital instead of cancer. Morse assembled a group of eight scientists, each with relevant experience. For example, Dr. Don Tyler, an anesthetist, studied the effects of anesthesia on the brain. Dr. Jerrold Milstein, director of pediatric neurology at the University of Washington, has been studying the brainstem and hippocampus…

Here are the conclusions Dr. Morse came to after 3 years of research: “In medical schools, we are taught to look for the simplest explanations for medical problems. After going through all the other explanations, I think the easiest way to explain NDEs is that they are really short-term visits to . Why not? I have read all the complex psychological and physiological interpretations of the NDE, and none of them seemed entirely satisfactory to me.”

When NDE is experienced by children, the same elements are mentioned as in adults. But it is highly doubtful that they could have heard of NDE before or had the same psychological expectations as adults. Children's spontaneity in describing events that are wholly outside their previous training and experience provides a unique and compelling set of evidence. Part of Paradise Really owes its success to little Colton's NDE charm. His story seems childishly spontaneous; in his own fresh and naive way he talked about things that only adults can fully understand.

If children's experiences were based on what children wanted to see when they were seriously ill, they would certainly dream of their parents. But their reports indicate that during NDE they often see dead grandparents or pets. After NDE, their life, like the life of adults, changes dramatically. They become more empathetic than their peers; they guess the emotions behind the spoken words.

Here are some more childhood near-death experiences. A 5-year-old boy fell ill with meningitis, fell into a coma and, waking up, said that he met a little girl on the other side, who said that she was his sister. She told him, “I am your sister. I died a month after I was born. I was named after your grandmother. Our parents called me Ritye for short."

Coming out of a coma, the boy told his parents everything. They were shocked and briefly left the room, and then returned and informed the boy that he actually had an older sister named Ritye, who died of poisoning a year before his birth. They decided, while he was still small, not to tell him about it.

The supernatural explanation seems to be more in line with childhood near-death experiences than natural explanations based on psychological attitudes or wishful thinking. In particular, there is ample supporting evidence in favor of the first explanation.

Life after death - NDE survivors describe

“I passed out in the store, went there for groceries. I woke up during the operation, but realized that I was floating above my own body. Doctors crowded there, they were doing something, talking among themselves.

I looked to my right and saw the hospital corridor. My cousin was standing there talking on the phone. I overheard him telling someone that I bought a lot of groceries and the bags were so heavy that my aching heart gave out. When I woke up and my brother came up to me, I told him what I heard. He immediately turned pale and confirmed that he spoke about this when I was unconscious.

“I had the feeling that I was flying at great speed through a vertical tunnel. Looking around, I saw a huge number of faces, only they were distorted into disgusting grimaces. I was scared, but soon I flew past them, they were left behind. I flew towards the light, but still could not reach it. As if he was moving away from me more and more.

Suddenly, at one moment, it seemed to me that all the pain was gone. It became good and calm, I was embraced by a feeling of peace. True, it did not last long. At one point, I sharply felt my own body and returned to reality. I was taken to the hospital, but I did not stop thinking about the sensations that I experienced. The terrible faces that I saw, for sure, it was hell, and the light and the feeling of bliss - heaven.

Ruby was undergoing a successful caesarean section at a Florida hospital when she suddenly passed out due to a rare complication known as amniotic fluid embolism.

After some time, Ruby said that when she lost consciousness, she ended up in a different place. It was beautiful, everything shone. There she met her late father, who said it was not her time and she should return to Earth.

“I don’t remember much, just the music. Very loud, like a march from an old movie. I was even surprised that they say that a serious operation is underway, and then the tape recorder was turned on to the fullest. After I realized that the music was getting kind of strange. Good, but weird. She was kind of extraterrestrial. I have never heard such a thing for sure ... I can’t really explain it. The sounds are absolutely inhuman."

“I saw myself from above and from the side. It felt like I was lifted up and pressed against the ceiling. At the same time, I watched for a very long time how the doctors were trying to revive me. It was funny to me: “I think how cleverly I hid from everyone here!” And then I was sucked into a whirlpool and “sucked” back into the body.”

“... I found myself in a hellish hell. There was total darkness and silence all around. The most painful thing was the lack of time. But the suffering was very real. Just me, suffering and eternity. And now chills pass through the body at the memory of this horror. That's when I cried out to Christ for help for the first time in my life. How could I know about Him? Nobody preached to me. Maybe this knowledge is innate. But Christ helped. I returned to reality and at the same moment fell on my knees and began to thank God.

“I ate mushrooms bought at the market, and the next day I woke up in intensive care. My kidneys and liver failed. While he was unconscious, he saw hell: it was hot, there was a cauldron around which devils ran. And then fog and oblivion. I realized that death is not the key to all doors, it tears these doors off their hinges. hallucinations appeared. All the time there were voices that ordered. I quit my job and went to a monastery. There, after confession and communion, everything passed. Now I go to church weekly. Everything hurts, hands go numb. I went to the doctors - no one knows anything, but.

“Three years ago I crashed on a scooter. Headed through the back door of a parked car. Turned off immediately. Suddenly I saw a man. He said: "It's too early for you to die - you must save." After the shots, like in a movie: a girl and a boy, and next to me and my future husband. She came to in intensive care. Doctors said that they don’t live with such fractures, and a month later I went to university. What I saw came true: I work as a midwife, got married and gave birth to a child. Every year on that day I come to the scene of the accident and thank you for staying alive.”

“It happened at recess, I was in the third grade then. I was sitting at my desk, suddenly my stomach started to hurt, it became very bad, it got dark in my eyes. Fell to the floor .... and woke up in the sky. I saw my torso, but without legs. As if he was in a cloud and looked at his class from above. There are only clouds around. I thought: “We must return, otherwise my mother will swear!” It started pulling me down. I woke up with a terrible headache. “Sure, so crash from the desk!” friends said. It turned out that I have vegetovascular dystonia. But with fainting, as a rule, I see or hear dreams, but here everything is different. I often think about it. I don't drink, I don't smoke, life is very short.

Deathbed visions

The first known attempt to piece together accounts of deathbed visions was by Professor Sir William Barrett. His wife, a doctor, prompted him to study.

One day, when she came home from work, she told Sir William about a remarkable vision, which was told by Doris, a patient who was dying after a difficult childbirth. Doris spoke with great joy of seeing her dead father. Then, with a rather puzzled expression, she said, "Vida was with him." Doris turned to her and repeated, "Looks with him." Doris' sister, Vida, had died three weeks earlier, but due to Doris' health condition, her relatives did not tell her about it.

In the second half of the 20th century, three full-scale studies of dying visions were carried out. The first work collected and analyzed the reports of nurses and doctors, which cover more than 35,000 cases. The second collected approximately 50,000 patient reports. Both of these studies were conducted in the USA. Later, a third work appeared, which collected 255 reports of dying visions in India. Oddly enough, "the results of the Indian study were consistent with those of earlier studies in almost all respects."

Here are some interesting pieces of evidence from these studies:

1. Those who reported that deceased relatives or angelic beings came to take them away died faster than those who simply spoke of seeing angels and angelic beings in the other world.

2. Sometimes people who did not intend to die told about visions, which excludes the possibility of waiting for an event.

One young (about 30 years old) college educated Indian quickly recovered from an illness. They were going to release him that day; both doctor and patient hoped for a full recovery. Suddenly, the patient exclaimed: “There is someone in white clothes! I won't go with you!" After 10 min. he passed away.

If such visions are born of cultural expectation, it is possible to assume that expectations will differ greatly from person to person and culture to culture. But a large percentage of coincidences agrees better with the supernatural explanation (there is life after death!), than with the purely materialistic one (there is no life after death).

General NDEs confirmed by numerous eyewitnesses

Often those who are close to the dying person (his relatives and friends) share near-death experiences with him. Reports of shared, or shared, NDEs are valuable from an evidentiary point of view: several people see and feel the same thing. In addition, such incidents are not amenable to natural scientific explanations, for example, the hypothesis of brain dying, because many of the “accomplices” did not have the brain in the process of dying! They did not have any hypoxia or hypercapnia (a condition caused by an excess amount of carbon dioxide in the blood), nor; there are no other symptoms that could affect the brain at the time of death.

Here is an example of near death visions shared by several family members who were nearby.

5 brothers and sisters Anderson in Atlanta were on duty at the bedside of a dying mother. Because she was seriously ill for a long time, the children psychologically resigned themselves to the inevitable. In the words of one daughter, “suddenly a bright light appeared in the room.” He was not like “any earthly light. I pushed my sister in the side to see if she saw the same thing as me, and turning to her, I saw that her eyes had become huge, like saucers ... My brother sat with his mouth open. We all saw the same thing, and we got scared for a while.”

Then they saw the lights, which took the form of a portal, a passage. Their mother left the body and passed through this passage in a state of ecstatic joy. Everyone agreed that the passage was reminiscent of the famous Natural Bridge in the Shenandoah Valley National Park.

Other shared experiences sometimes include a review of some events in the life of the deceased; "accomplices" can see friends and relatives of the deceased whom they did not previously know. One of the survivors subsequently looked into the album and recognized the people he had first seen during such a shared near-death vision.

Because such experiences are always something unexpected, it's hard to write them off as wishful thinking. And even if someone really wants to see someone's soul go, it is unlikely that they will be able to observe such unexpected things together as the distortion of space in a room, which has been told in many unrelated cases.

While reading Dr. Moody's book on shared near-death experiences, I came to the conclusion that these kinds of experiences are quite rare. Only Moody, I thought, could write about a lot of common experiences, because in his life he interviewed more than one thousand people who visited.

Imagine my surprise when I was talking with my close acquaintances to learn that a relative of mine, a retired history professor, told me about his own shared near-death experience.

Bucky woke up at three in the morning, feeling a terrible heaviness in his chest. All the symptoms he described reminded me of a heart attack. He saw a light in the distance, then he left his body and looked at his body as if from the ceiling. Then heavenly creatures approached him (in relation to the place of his observation, the light was now behind him). He experienced extreme peace, as many NDE survivors report. Bucky woke up in his bed, sweating profusely, and immediately the phone began to ring. His father, who lived 90 miles away and had never been seriously ill before, died suddenly of a heart attack.

Reports of shared or shared NDEs seem to take the evidence to a new level. Often more than one person claims to have encountered the same baffling phenomenon. I repeat, since friends and relatives did not experience the psychological and physiological symptoms of dying, it is hardly possible to attribute their sensations to oxygen starvation or other signs of brain dying. Dr. Moody gives many similar reports; many of them mutually confirm each other in a 2010 book, Eyes Into Eternity: Watching Loved Ones Move From This Life to the Next.

Eye to eye conversations

Dr. Moody writes that prior to his research, he would have dismissed such stories at once. Conversations with people who had experienced NDE changed his mind. Dr. van Lommel was a committed materialist, but he never forgot that one highly emotional patient who came to from a cardiac arrest spoke of "a tunnel, bright colors, light, beautiful scenery and music."

Dr. Rawlings initially considered most of the NDE stories he heard about life after death to be "fiction, conjecture, or imagination," until one of his patients, who had died and been resuscitated several times, was elated every time. reported that he experienced "on the other side." The authenticity of the patient's stories prompted Rawlings to take the patient's stories seriously.

One of those with whom I spoke personally was a man who had achieved success in life; smart, respected, self-confident man in his 60s. I started the conversation with friendly small talk and then asked about his NDE. The excitement took his breath away. No, I do not mean that while he was talking, he had tears in his eyes. At first, until he could cope with his emotions, he could not speak at all. He apologized and asked me to wait a few seconds until he came to his senses.

As an interviewer, I had no doubt that my interlocutor was absolutely sincere - he was absolutely sure that he was leaving his body, moving to another dimension and talking with three beings about whether he should return to earth or not. He said that what he experienced was “very different from the dream.” What he encountered was real, powerful, unforgettable and changed his life.

Although at first this opinion may seem rather subjective, remember that apparently sincere testimonies are considered legal evidence in court. If, for example, the wife is genuinely afraid of her husband who has beaten her, the court may forbid the husband to approach his wife. Of course, the wife may turn out to be a liar and a good actress. When it comes to near-death experiences, each case must be checked to see if its authors are looking for cheap popularity.

On the one hand, it seems that little Colton ("Heaven really exists") in his messages is childishly innocent. On the other hand, the skeptic in me tells me that children love to be the center of attention. And Colton's story about paradise certainly got him a lot of attention! The latter consideration does not necessarily negate its veracity, but it would be unwise to lose sight of such a possible motivation. I saw on YouTube interviews of priests who painted their visions of life after death in colors. Here it is possible to suspect the intention to revive interest in the books they wrote.

But when it comes to the many NDE reports, there are hardly any hidden reasons for their authors to lie. Ordinary people are extremely reluctant to share their experiences, as shown in many studies. They do not seek cheap popularity at all; they do not want to make money from their stories about the other world. On the contrary, quite often they have pretty good reasons not to talk about the experience, or even to pretend that their NDE was “only a very detailed and vivid dream.”

The deaf "hear"

This is how a boy who has not heard from birth described his dying visions: “I was born completely deaf. All my relatives hear, and they always communicated with me using sign language. And so I directly communicated with about 20 ancestors using some kind of telepathy. Exciting feeling…”

Indeed, "exciting". The boy did not hear from birth and did not learn verbal communication. And yet it turned out that he communicates effortlessly, and not with the help of sign language, but directly, from consciousness to consciousness. He didn't have to learn a new way of communicating. His words do not fit in with what we know about how the brain works.

The blind see

People who are blind from birth do not "dream." Those born blind perceive dreams through other senses. Even those who lost their sight in the first 5 years of life are deprived of visual imagery.

However, in a study of 31 NDEs of the blind (almost half of them blind from birth), it turned out that:

1. “... the blind, including those born blind, report classic NDEs that are common to the sighted; the vast majority of the blind tells what they saw during the OSP and OBE (); in support, they report information based on the ability to see, which they could not acquire in the usual way, which was confirmed by corroborating evidence from an independent source”;

2. “...the study did not reveal an obvious difference between the subgroups of the sighted and the blind in relation to the frequency of certain elements of near-death experiences. Thus, regardless of whether a person is born blind, lost his sight at a later age, or suffers from severe visual impairment, but is able to see, NDEs turn out to be very similar and structurally no different from those described by the sighted”;

3. “Like the sighted, the blind respondents described both their perception of this world and the scenes from it, often in great detail. Sometimes they had a feeling of extraordinary visual acuity - in some cases the vision was perfect.

Consider the case of Vicki, blind from birth. At the age of 22, after a car accident, she fell into a coma. According to Vikki, “I never saw anything, did not distinguish between light and shadow, nothing ... I did not “see” dreams. Taste, touch, hearing and smell helped me in my sleep. There were no visual sensations."

After the accident, she suddenly realized that she could see perfectly clearly what was happening in the intensive care unit, where the medical team was energetically resuscitating someone. Vicki recognized her wedding ring (which she often touched) and gradually realized that it was her body and that she must have died. She flew up to the ceiling and for the first time saw trees, birds and people. "... it was incredible, amazingly beautiful, and I was consumed by this feeling, because before that I could not really imagine what light is." Before returning, she met with relatives who had died before her.

Regarding Vicki's sensations, Dr. van Lommel wrote: “By the standards of modern medicine, this is simply incredible ... Vicki spoke of observations that could not be the product of sensory perception or (visual) functioning of the cerebral cortex, nor could they be a figment of the imagination, given that all her observations could be easily verified.

As far as the evidence for life after death is concerned, the near-death experiences of the blind are very important from several points of view. If the evidence is genuine (and the authors of the studies make good arguments that they have full confidence in their sources), then all natural hypotheses - physiological, psychological, and others - turn out to be woefully untenable.

From a psychological point of view, it is impossible to “train” the blind in advance on visual sensations of this kind, because they cannot even understand what light and darkness are, all the more so they do not distinguish colors, halftones, shades, they are not able to determine the distance by eye, etc. From a physiological point of view, they have no visual memories to draw upon. Electrical stimulation of certain parts of the brain can awaken memories of tastes and sounds in them, but not visual memories.

If blind people see during NDE, they do not see with their eyes closed, useless in a hospital bed or next to an overturned car. Obviously, they see with a different, sharpened vision of an intangible body, devoid of the flaws that have been left behind.

Supporters of natural-scientific explanations should treat the description of life after the death of the blind as a serious challenge to their worldview.

Everything that happens in NDE is extremely convincing

According to the results of five independent NDE studies, only 27% of respondents believed in life after death before their near-death experiences. But even more than 20 years after the NDE, although they had a lot of time to think it over, analyze what happened to them, and try to explain everything somehow, 90%, by their admission, still believe in life after death.

Moreover, the more time they had to think, the more they believed in life after death. In one study where before NDE only 38% of respondents believed in life after death, after NDE all 100% believed in it. Needless to say, there is a huge shift in core beliefs that comes after a single incident.
