The most famous performers of Russian rock. The best Russian rock bands

Rock lived, Rock is alive, Rock will live, never losing its relevance and which will always have a place on the player of a real music fan. If it's not a problem to decide, they are on everyone's lips, and albums are sold in millions of copies from America to Japan, then not everything is so definite with the Russian rock scene. Firstly, Russian rock is quite young, having actively begun to develop only in the eighties of the last century. Secondly, in thirty years, not so many really cool bands have appeared that can be called legendary, there are more one-day bands that release a couple of hit albums that disappear after a few years from the big stage. Nevertheless, there are several dozen groups that have cult status forever inscribed their name in golden letters in the hall of fame of Russian rock. Meet ten best Russian rock bands.

10. Zemfira

Zemfira is one of the most successful performers of the Russian music scene, who has become a living symbol of female rock. The singer likes to experiment, mixing classic rock with other musical styles and trends. All six of Zemfira's studio albums were wildly popular, and hits occupied the top of the charts for months.

9. Aria

"Aria" is one of the few Russian heavy metal bands that has been able to achieve popular love. The team appeared back in 1982 as VIA "Singing Hearts", starting to experiment with different musical styles. As a result, they began to imitate Iron Maiden, Scorpions, Deep Purple and Iron Maiden and transformed into one of the best rock bands, the tracks of which began to be dominated by long guitar cuts, the piercing voice of the soloist with a bias towards rock ballads.

8. Chaif

Chaif appeared back in 1985 in Sverdlovsk and has been delighting listeners for almost 30 years. A group of many hits forever inscribed in golden letters in the hall of fame of Russian rock with deep philosophical overtones, quite cheerful and energizing people. Chaif cannot be turned on simply as background music, but you need to listen to every word and feel the rhythm in order to “understand” the song.

7. Aquarium

"Aquarium" are real dinosaurs of Russian rock, having appeared in the St. Petersburg underground in the early 70s. Until the mid-1980s, the group was actually in the "underground", often performing outdoors, at indoor concerts or in basements. A few performances at festivals usually ended in big scandals. The real recognition and popularity of the group comes in 1986 in the wake of perestroika, becoming a real legend. Although the composition of Aquarium changed several times, Boris Grebenshchikov always remained the permanent leader of the group. The group's songs have become real classics, which other musicians are happy to quote and rehash.

6. Agatha Christie

"Agatha Christie" appeared in the late 80s, on the wave of ever-growing popularity of rock, in just a few years they became the favorites of the younger generation. From album to album, the band's performance style changed, but it was always cool mixed guitars, synthesizers, drums, electronic basses and a little symphony. The lyrics of Agatha Christie's songs are rather gloomy with deep overtones.

5. Time Machine

"Time Machine" are the real grandfathers of Russian rock on the songs that several generations of people have grown up, in fact, forming the modern rock scene. The group was created by Andrei Makarevich with friends in 1969, remaining its permanent leader for more than 40 years. The group, like a sponge, has absorbed many musical styles and trends, but in the songs of which rock motives have always prevailed.

4. Alice

Hard rock and heavy metal, that's what the rock band "Alice" is, which appeared back in 1983 in St. Petersburg. True, since the beginning of the 2000s, the frontman of the group, Konstantin Kinchev, has gone deep into Orthodox topics and is increasingly taking part in political life.

3. Nautilus Pompilius

"Nautilus Pompilius" is another one of the Russian rock legends from the 80s. The group has always paid a lot of attention to socially significant topics, where each verse of the songs makes you think, get out of the shell of your closed world and pay attention to the problems of society. The group manages to organically combine rock and symphonic music.

2. DDT

"DDT" is a real Russian legend, at the helm of which for more than 30 years is Yuri Shevchuk, who wrote most of the group's songs that became hits. The team plays unobtrusive rock with blues and jazz motives. The group has always paid a lot of attention to socially and socially important topics, although there are several very successful ironic, love and philosophical singles.

1. Cinema

For fans of Russian rock, Kino and Viktor Tsoi are practically synonymous, who became a real legend during his lifetime. For eight years, from a group of unknown amateurs, they turned into rock monsters, gathering stadiums of fans, each song of which became a real hit that you can listen to endlessly. Kino departed from the classic traditions of Russian rock of the 80s, actively starting to use drum machines, which added some pop to the songs.

Where did you play: Track, Nastya

Genres: Russian rock

What's cool: Nastya Poleva is the first truly famous woman in Russian rock. Our first female rock star. It is doubly symbolic that this could only appear in Sverdlovsk, far from the centers of civilization, where rock life flowed according to its own laws. By the will of fate, Nastya is also one of the founders of Sverdlovsk rock as such: in 1980 she became the vocalist of the Trek - gloomy moralizers akin to Kraftwerk and Black Sabbath, in 1985 she actively collaborated with the young Nautilus, which was gaining strength, and in 1987 she finally went solo career. Her debut album, Tatsu, became the country's first major all-female rock album. This was facilitated by the new, soft and lyrical manner of Nastya's singing, and unusual, full of references to exotic countries, fashionable arrangements, and surrealistic texts. Nastya's career after this album (and the tragedy with another album, The Bride, stolen from the studio) can hardly be called triumphant, but even after moving to St. Petersburg, she retained both her unquestioned musical authority and the status of a living legend of Russian rock.

Quote: I was one hundred percent sure that Tatsu would pass. I have always had the desire to move mountains and do something to make everyone gasp. And when such motivation appears, I become a meteor. I would endure everything to get the final result.

Diana Arbenina

A photo -

Where did you play: Night snipers

What's cool: Diana Arbenina has spent almost 23 years of her life on the big stage. Behind him are hundreds of cities, two hundred songs, collections of poems and prose, Motofozo's autobiographical performance on the stage of the Moscow Art Theater. Chekhov, soundtracks for 16 films, the experience of a team mentor in the Voice of Ukraine project (and in 2015 on the Main Stage project) and a nomination for the Russian independent award for achievements in literature and art Triumph. In addition to all this, Diana successfully combines an active concert activity with the position of mother of two beautiful babies Artem and Marta.
;
Quote: Being a sniper means having a naked, albeit nervous, heart, being receptive to human kindness. And as for love - do not defend yourself from it and wait, even if it takes a whole life.

Zemfira

A photo -

Where did you play: Zemfira, The Uchpochmack

Genres: Russian rock

What's cool: At least the fact that she is Zemfira. I don't think it makes sense to describe the influence she had on all of Russian music. Zemfira has become one of the most commercially successful singers on our stage, while not being a particularly public person, but simply doing her job. In November 2010, Afisha magazine included her first album in the top 50 best Russian albums of all time. And more than once Zemfira was included in the rating of the most influential women in the country. But she, however, always did not care for such titles and regalia.

Quote: It's very difficult for me to please. I am dissatisfied with the musicians, dissatisfied with myself, very often, dissatisfied with the public. Sometimes it seems to me that they could be more active. They cannot hurt me, criticize me more than I criticize myself. I know who I am, I am where I belong. I know it, I'm sure of it. And this is my greatest truth and strength. Confidence in who I am and what I am. And I will sing for a very long time.

Svetlana Surganova

A photo -

Where did you play: Something Else, Night Snipers, Surganova and Orchestra

Genres: rock, alternative rock, jazz rock, trip hop, art rock

What's cool:
In fact, by her first education, Svetlana Yakovlevna Surganova is a pediatrician (Svetlana never worked in her field), which does not prevent her from being a talented musician. The artist herself calls the group's style VIP-Punk-Decadence (behind the complex abbreviation lies aesthetics, "hooliganism", energetic presentation, self-irony, texts based on classical poetry), but even this definition is not enough for their work. In addition to the above genres, we can safely say that Svetlana skillfully plays with Latino, ethnic motifs, in some places - electronic samples, and at the same time she is one of the women without whom Russian rock is now unthinkable. Such an off-format group called Surganova and the Orchestra has existed for almost 14 years, is dearly loved by fans, deservedly has one of the most generous fan clubs for surprises and gifts and actively travels with concerts in Russia and abroad, and rightfully bears the title, perhaps the most touring rock band in our country (one has only to look at the schedule of C&O performances).

The group celebrated its tenth anniversary (in 2013) on a large scale with a concert not anywhere, but in the Kremlin Palace, and the releases of new albums are accompanied by concerts in Crocus.

The deep lyrics of the St. Petersburg poetess can be parsed into quotes for a very long time, but we will give one of them below.

Quote: In my work, like many others, I try to solve for myself the fundamental questions of being. I talk, I sing, I shout about it. It turns out a burning mixture of depression and catharsis.

Linda

A photo -

Where did you play: Convoy, Bloody Faeries, Linda

Genres: trip hop, trip rock, new age, experimental music, ethno rock, folk rock, psychedelic rock, indie rock, art rock, alternative rock, grunge, post-punk, gothic rock

What's cool:

She became one of the most mysterious singers of our rock scene. Svetlana Geiman was born in the small town of Kentau in Kazakhstan, then moved to Tolyatti with her family, and at the age of 15 ended up in Moscow. Three years later, her creative career begins (Linda took her first steps in a folk art group), and after that she entered the Gnesinka. She managed to work with many famous figures of the Russian music industry of those years, for example, with Vladimir Matetsky, Yuri Aizenshpis, Maxim Fadeev. The unusual musical style quickly helped the singer become noticed, the albums became platinum (they were sold in more than 250 thousand copies), the Raven album becomes platinum with a sales status of 1,250,000 copies, becoming the third in Russia. Multiple changes in images from album to album, constant experiments with sound and appearance, and finally - a successful collaboration with the Universal Music label, which brought her big concerts and performances at festivals, and even performed as an opening act for Moby in 2005. Part of Linda's musical career is connected with Greece - it is from there that Stefanos Korkolis, a Greek singer and composer, was born, with whom Linda later tied the knot, but divorced a couple of years later. The singer continues to create, release new albums (her eighth studio album of 2013 LAY, @! was even recognized as the best album of the year according to MusicBox), and continues to create to this day. Well, who knows how many more musical experiments her talent will last.

Quote: The image is born at the moment when childbirth occurs, “childbirth-water”, therefore the parents lay the image. Then in life you can search, try on yourself and feel with all your inner state what is closer to you, where you are more comfortable and where there are those things with which you can grow further. In kindergarten, I wanted to become an astronaut, then I really liked to fish, I always thought that I would be a dolphin rescuer. Life has always been unpredictable. Then I became very fond of the circus. Plus I was born in an ethnic place. I received my first musical burns at the age of four, when I heard the ethnic instruments of ordinary street musicians. Another grandmother, who raised me, who gave me a lot in life, was a very creative person, and she had a difficult fate. All this was layered over the years and acquired a certain foundation that guided me. These are all components, and this is a very global issue.

Lusine Gevrkyan

A photo -

Where did you play: Sphere of Influence, Traktor Bowling, Louna

Genres: alternative metal, alternative rock, nu metal, punk rock

What's cool: Lu is considered one of the best alternative vocalists in our country, which has been repeatedly confirmed by both fans and awards such as the Chart Dozen. Recently, Lusine successfully combines work in two projects (Tracktor Bowling and Louna) with the role of a wife (Lu is married to Vitaly Demidenko, bass player of Traktors and Louna) and a caring mother, while actively performing with her colleagues at many festivals , where they are always welcome guests, work on electrical and acoustic material, charity and filming. Previously, however, Lou still taught vocals, but with such a busy schedule, this had to be abandoned. By education, he is an economist. He writes part of the material for his groups on his own - both the lyrics and the musical component of the songs. She is an endorser of Sennheiser microphones and ear monitoring systems, as well as a representative of Roland brand synthesizers in Russia (she is a pianist herself).

Quote: Guys, rock music… it is truthful, it is honest, it is sometimes aggressive, it is often heavy, sometimes even heavy, energetic, but it is always against war, against weapons, against violence, against injustice, and sings of love, honesty, kindness, equality and brotherhood.

Julia Kogan

A photo -

Where did you play: Leningrad, solo project

Genres: pop, pop rock, jazz

What's cool: The red-haired beast Yulia Kogan quickly burst into the musical party in 2007 and became famous in one day. Still, the team of Sergei Shnurov never left anyone indifferent, and with the advent of Yulia, the "second wind" of the group's popularity was completely opened. A beautiful figure, a cloud of red hair and songs that consist mainly of obscenities (and how else, they were written by Shnur) did their job. For almost six years, Yulia was the "face" and voice of Leningrad. In 2013, she left the group and pursued a solo career. To date, the singer has released her debut album entitled "Fire Baba".

The image of a bitchy, liberated beauty attracted TV people - for several seasons, Yulia became the host of the show #YaPrava on the Yu channel. The singer also recorded several arias for the musical TODD by the King and the Jester group. You can hear it in the songs - The Death Machine and Lovett's Confession.

Julia is an actress by education, she began to study classical vocals quite late - at the age of 16. Leningrad got into the group by accident - in the St. Petersburg musical get-together everyone knows each other. In life, Yulia Kogan is not much like her stage image - calm and quiet, she is married, brings up her daughter Lisa and plays as a hobby in the Entreprise Theater named after. A. Mironova.

Quote: It is somewhat problematic to get away from the image that I had in the Leningrad group. This is something akin to actors who have become popular thanks to one role. You have to pay for it, not the whole audience is ready to see something different in me. I can be touching and tender on stage, or I can be tough. And for this I do not need to swear obscene words into the microphone. I'm a little worried about the audience's reaction. People are now in some confusion: they do not know which Yulia Kogan they are going for. They don't know what to expect from me. But this is a kind of challenge, and it's interesting. I want to reach such a level of perception of my solo image that the lyrical songs performed by me are completely understandable to the audience who came to the concert.

Daria Nookie Stavrovich

A photo -

Where did you play: SLOT, Nuki

Genres: alternative rock, nu metal

What's cool: Daria Stavrovich, or Nookie, has been the female "voice" of the Slot group for many years. Dasha was born in the Arkhangelsk region, studied at the Nizhny Novgorod Musical College, and then in Moscow. Since childhood, being fond of creativity, little Dasha at first gravitated towards drawing, but then she was fascinated by music. Having got into the Slot group at the age of 20, thanks to friends, she stayed there - today, together with Dasha, 7 albums have already been recorded, and it’s hard to imagine someone else in this group in Nuka’s place. The singer also created her solo project Nuki, which has two releases to its credit.

Quote: I got into the Slot by a lucky chance. We make modern music for the youth and for all who are young at heart. With our creativity, we are trying to express our perception of the world, to show how everything is interconnected in it. We do not say: “Girlfriend, look at me, do as I do ...” We say: “If you do this, then it will be like this, and then you will figure it out yourself.” My mother watches our performances on TV. Sometimes he calls, scolds for the slang that I use in my speech. Parents know our work, but do not always understand it. Probably because of the age barrier.

Zhanna Aguzarova

A photo -

Where did you play: Bravo

Genres: rock, pop rock, beat, glam rock, rockabilly

Aliases: Ivanna Anders, Nintin Nintys

What's cool: The name of Zhanna Aguzarova is always associated with outrageousness, space and a beautiful piercing voice. And of course, with the Bravo group. Despite the fact that Aguzarova has not been a very frequent guest in public lately, she still remains popular, and almost everyone knows her songs. In 1983 she joined the Bravo group (then still Postscriptum). In 1988, Aguzarova left the group to pursue a solo career. From 1991 to 1996 she lived in America and very little is known about this period.
This is a woman without age and timeless, she is like an alien from outer space, we do not know one hundred percent for sure anything about her: even the date and place of birth are surrounded by mystery. And what can be said about a man who, having arrived in Moscow, lived for some time with a fake passport, and only because Zhanna did not have her own. Taking someone else's passport and correcting the name from "Ivan" to "Ivanna", Zhanna Khasanovna pretended to be the daughter of diplomats Ivanna (later - Yvonne) Anders, for which she subsequently paid first with detention and then with forced labor.

The singer made a real revolution in her time on the music scene: her outrageous clothing style, fantastic outfits, eccentric hairstyles and hair color, as well as unpredictable behavior on stage and in interviews left their mark on the country's musical culture. In communication with the press, Jeanne often spoke about her connection with the Martians, now that her trace in music is being lost, fans believe that she flew home.

Quote: In art there is no old - there is a being
Happiness is everywhere, it is all around us. They say it's good where we're not, but it's not true: it's good where we are

Russian rock has gone gray and is increasingly indulging in nostalgic reflections on its former popularity. Every music lover can immediately name a dozen or two famous domestic rock performers, but among them there is hardly at least one group younger than ten years old.

This situation cannot but be depressing, especially when you see how very young rappers gain crazy popularity in a matter of months and go on tours around our vast country. As soon as some Oksimiron puts a “like” on a novice performer, he instantly becomes promising and interesting for thousands of people.

With Russian rock, unfortunately, everything is not so. I would very much like the pillars of Russian rock to also acquaint their large audience with new names, of which in Russia, despite the obvious crisis of the genre, there are quite a few every year.

Let's talk about some of the bands that debuted in 2017. Again, this is not a top, but a list of 10 very young rock bands that made themselves known last year, and which, in our opinion, definitely deserve your attention.

1. Nagart

The Moscow group Nagart will open our list. The team has existed since 2013 and plays in the style of horror punk, punk rock. For four years, the guys were going to record their full-fledged first album, and on December 30, 2017, a presentation of their many years of work took place at the Glastonberry club.

The record was called "What the dead are silent about", and, as you can guess from the title, it is permeated through and through with mysticism and a gloomy atmosphere, which the guys skillfully draw in your mind. Twelve superbly written and played ballads, clearly created under the influence of the work of the group "Korol i Shut", are listened to in one breath.

2. Deadly Fever

Last August Moscow metalcore band Deadly Fever released their debut EP "The Light You Want To See In Black". Five powerful quality tracks, no doubt, will appeal to fans of the genre.

To this day, the composition of the group remains unknown - six months after the release, the members of the group did not come out, creating some intrigue around themselves, thereby holding the attention of the audience. We hope that this is just such a marketing ploy, and this year Deadly Fever will please us with its powerful creativity.

3. Otherwise

The rebellious spirit of punk rock has taken root well in our country with its gray reality and eternal desire for change. There are a lot of bands playing in this genre, but they do not often leave the dusty dungeons of garages and basements to please the audience with a high-quality studio album. Last year, the Moscow group “Otherwise” was able to “shoot”, releasing the disc “Right Now! Part 1".

With its honest and inspiring texts, the team is trying to open to humanity another reality in which one can live differently!

4. Steppe

Eh, "Polyushko-field, Polyushko, wide field ..."

Folk Rock itself is beautiful - it pulls us out of this endless hustle and bustle, gives us the opportunity to look at the beauty of nature around us, makes us feel the history and cultural heritage of our country.

Unfortunately, it is not so often possible to hear something new and original in this genre, but last year the Voronezh group "Steppe" made its debut. The record "Echo of Time", consisting of seven tracks, will take your imagination to the distant past and give you the opportunity to feel the great and tragic fate of the Russian people.

5. Reflection of Blood

In August 2017, the gloomy and very atmospheric work of the group Reflection of Blood was released.

The band itself comes from Orel and plays in the style of Doom Metal. Their debut album “Peccatum mortale” (Mortal sins), which includes nine tracks, is a complete work that tells the story of a sinner who came to confession to the holy father…

This conceptual work will definitely appeal to not only connoisseurs of the genre.

6. Atom Atlanta

The piercing cold of Murmansk and the gloomy landscapes of the Russian north do not prevent the Atom Atlanta team from dreaming about the stars and distant space worlds.

Alternative metal is a genre that the guys from Atom Atlanta hardly fit into. Their music is multifaceted and interesting, they are not afraid to experiment with sound, and the lyrics of their songs are solid sci-fi stories.

The debut EP called "Echotopia" was released in August last year.

7. TEЯRATOMORF

TEЯRATOMORF - a heavy metal band from Moscow cannot be called the pioneers of the genre, the group was founded in 2013, but even before that, its members were closely involved in rock music. One way or another, only in 2017 did the guys collect enough material to release a full-fledged album called "The Creator of Desires".

In any case, many years of work have justified the expectations of the public - 14 explosive tracks, which were mixed by Danish sound engineer Jakob Hansen, can settle in your playlists for a long time.

8. SEPTERIA

Penetrating female vocals, the power of electric guitars and romantic lyrics - isn't this the key to a successful rock band? The SEPTERIA group has all these components and, it should be noted, has been rapidly gaining popularity in recent years.

Their first full-length album was released in November 2017, and you just can't help but like it.

9. Landmark

"Academic hard rock" - this is how you can christen the work of the Chelyabinsk group "Landmark", created by Vladimir Kamenetsky.

Over the three years of its existence, Orientir has achieved recognition in the world of Russian rock, becoming the winner of several major rock festivals. In September last year, the group released their debut EP, called "Look". Emotional vocals and deep semantic load of the tracks fall in love with the band's work from the first seconds.

10. Intentions

Another unusual band playing original, unique music for Russia - meet Intentions and their debut EP, consisting of three tracks. The guys are immersed in creativity and make very high-quality music that you want to dry out over and over again.

The EP has not received any name, and the names of the tracks: Escape, Corridors and Existence do not mean anything and are unlikely to have anything to do with the music they carry. In general, a very strong work, it is a pity that such a small one.

Not only in Russia, but throughout the world there are many connoisseurs of such music as rock. Many revere this music and the musicians who perform it. Some people just live this music, it is a source of inspiration for them, support and support in difficult times. Rock music seems to be fraught with another world that not everyone can understand. Musicians playing rock music shackle themselves into some kind of frames and formats, they are not shy in expressions and can throw out all their accumulated emotions with the help of an instrument.

There are many rock bands in Russia, both insanely popular and just starting their way in a musical career. Listening to rock music will be useful for those who have not listened to it before. Of course, everyone has their own musical preferences, but learning something new for yourself is at least interesting. Maybe you will understand the feelings of authors and performers, read the message that rock music is trying to convey to its listeners. Rock performers, members of rock groups, are somewhat free, but at the same time burdened. Today we will introduce you to our rating the best russian rock bands. Who knows, maybe your favorite band is at the top of our list.

10. Zemfira

Although most modern critics classify Zemfira's work as pop music, we cannot agree with them. Legendary songs that have become not only the soundtracks of popular films of the late 90s, but also a favorite for singing around the campfire. It seems that in her work you can find universal compositions that perfectly describe any life situation, while making you shudder from the surging memories. Do you want sweet oranges?

9.

The ninth line of our rating of the 10 best Russian rock bands is occupied, I’m not afraid of this word, by the “mastodons” of domestic metal. It was they who brought what foreign metalheads could not give, namely texts that could reach the depths of the soul, and vocals that were not characteristic of this style. Any up-and-coming band tries to be like them, and covers of the song "I'm Free" are performed more often than the band itself gives concerts. It is worth paying tribute to the soloist and songwriter Valery Kipelov, who, despite leaving the group, is still its symbol.

8.

Probably, each of us at least once in our lives heard the legendary "Argentina-Jamaica 5-0", so the work of this group does not need a special introduction, especially among the older generation. The strange name of the group was caused by the fusion of the words "tea" and "high". The fact is that at the rehearsals the participants used an unmeasured amount of very strong brewed tea and received tremendous pleasure from it. They are proud that they were able to create music not for commercial purposes, but for the soul, which is probably why their songs are so close to the hearts of most fans of the domestic rock scene.

7.

The Samoilov brothers are rightfully called innovators of Russian rock, because they were able to play in styles already well known all over the world, but at the same time not lose their own zest, which led them to the seventh line in the ranking of the best rock bands in Russia. Their album "Opium" was one of the best-selling in the 90s, the group's fans consider it the most organic, constantly repeating that the songs of this group should not just be listened to or try to find hidden meaning in them, they need to be felt, passing through themselves. And, although a conflict broke out between the brothers, Agatha Christie broke up, but her legacy for many years predetermined the development of the domestic music industry.

6. Time Machine

Andrey Makarevich, the group's frontman, is still a fairly popular person, whose opinion often causes an unprecedented resonance in society. In short, the group's songs perfectly describe the mood of the youth of the Soviet Union during perestroika: the desire for freedom, the desire to move away from other people's ideals and start building their own world, where they will be comfortable. This is what makes "Time Machine" a legend of Russian rock, and "Don't bend under the changing world" is unlikely to ever disappear from the playlists of radio stations, because the questions raised in it are truly eternal.

5.

The punk rock scene in our ranking of the best Russian rock performers in Russia is represented by KiSH, all because the participants followed innovative ideas to the end and never hesitated to bring something new. Few people at the time of the band's inception imagined that the cello and violin, unusual for heavy music, would blend so harmoniously into rock compositions. Even the band's latest albums, dominated by acoustic sounds, are innovative, and the opera "TODD", which took two whole albums, was reminiscent of the original story of the Barber of Fleet Street, which was romanticized and distorted by Western cinema.

4.

Perhaps one of the most underestimated rock projects of the domestic scene. The fact is that the guys did not hesitate to experiment, including pop elements in their own music, which brought them unheard-of popularity within the CIS, and “E-95 Highway” is still a must-have track in the trucker's playlist. Alisa is also one of the most influential Russian rock bands, because with their innovation they showed young performers that the main thing is not to succumb to clichés and play exactly the music that you would like to listen to yourself.

3.

Despite the frequent changes in line-ups and musical styles, the legendary project, whose face Vyacheslav Butusov will forever remain, deserves to open the top three in the ranking of the best Russian rock bands. Their album "Wings" flew off the shelves of music stores with unimaginable speed, because the lyrics and sound perfectly convey the mood of that era, when people, despite difficult life situations and problems within the country, maintained their peace of mind and, most importantly, continued to be people. Despite the fact that not many new songs got into it, he was able to reach out to everyone and make them think about the most important things in life.

2.

In today's world, where the mood is set by social networks, it is impossible to lose sight of the legendary “What is Autumn” that regularly appears there, in September, which will be heard on the radio for many years to come, but, more importantly, on the strings of guitars in the hands of boys campfire. Yuri Shevchuk managed to put his whole soul into the text and make the listeners open theirs in response. Now the group is actively touring the CIS, performing not only favorite hits, but also poetry of their own authorship, and also constantly pleases fans with new songs that have retained all the same sensual sound.

1. Cinema

Viktor Tsoi, in the short years of his life, managed to leave a huge mark on Russian music. His group, the leader of the rating and deservedly the best Russian rock band, was an innovator in Russian music: having started using drum machines, it was able to attract a huge number of listeners, which gave Viktor the opportunity to express his own opinion and share it with millions of fans. Despite the early death of the soloist, which increased the popularity of the group and created a whole subculture, even people who did not find the era of the peak of Kino's popularity seek to get acquainted with his work. “Pack of Cigarettes”, “Blood Type”, “Eighth Grader”, “Changes” are favorite compositions for covers not only by novice guitarists, but also by modern pop groups trying to “move out” on the popularity of famous texts.

The best rock band in Russia | Video "Change"

Actually, in the domestic lands, rock as a genre of music began to appear in the 60-70s (well, in short, almost from its very appearance). However, at that time there was strict censorship, so all the groups of that time were underground. In the 1980s, power changed and"rudder" The Soviet Union was Gorbachev, who began a series of changes, later called Perestroika. Actually, then domestic teams got out of"nor" and began to be more or less produced and become popular. And after the collapse of the Union, completely new groups appeared, focusing on previously banned genres of the West. Since that time, rock has become more and more popular, and the number of bands has grown significantly.

P.S. Do not despair if suddenly your favorite group did not get here, because I did everything at my own discretion and my opinion may specifically differ from yours)

1. King and Jester

Fuck, the pot is dead! After the death of the permanent vocalist and frontman Mikhail Gorshenev, the remaining musicians founded the Northern Fleet group, but let's go back a little earlier. "KiSh" may have been one of the most famous punk rock bands of the former USSR and Russia. It consisted of about 7 people. Lyrics were also a distinctive feature: they were mostly stories with a certain structure and plot. The appearance of the participants also stood out: unusual make-up and attire were part of the stage performances. In the press, the band was often called "cult", however, unfortunately, after the death of Gorshka, their songs can only be heard on studios and concert recordings.

2. Cinema

The legendary and perhaps the most popular Soviet rock band, which included Vitya Tsoi. Vitya, who came into music, sang and knew only three guitar chords, subsequently went through thorns to the stars: if at the very beginning of their career the activities of Tsoi and his guys were criticized by both underground and official publications, then at the end of it all the records were scattered in millions of copies across the territory of the whole Union.

3. Aria

One of the oldest heavy metal bands based in the USSR, a legendary band. And, perhaps, the most popular, and even has fans far beyond rock and roll. Starting with the imitation of British heavy metallers (the influence of Iron Maiden was especially noted, similarities with them can be seen almost everywhere, starting with the band's logo and ending with the characteristic sound. For this, by the way, Aria was often called unoriginal and accused of plagiarism, but the guys have their share of everything and there is). The name of the group does not make any sense at all: it is equally easy to write in Russian and English, and the musicians wanted to get promoted and become famous abroad. which was the result.

4. Gaza Strip

Hoy! The Voronezh collective farm punk band was named after one of the industrial regions, a stupid name, on the one hand, right? Yura Klinskikh did not even dream of getting promoted, he thought that both he and all the members of the group would soon get tired of everything, but fate decided otherwise: the team became one of the most legendary. based in Russia. Unfortunately, the success was tragically cut short with Hoy's death in 2000. The rest of the musicians have gathered several groups, but we all know that. What happens after the death of a leader...

5. Spleen

The beginning of Spleen's career is considered to be the height of perestroika, 1986, when Vasiliev met Morozov, but in 1994, during the celebration of the recording of their debut album, guitarist Stas Berezovsky joined them, and a classic line-up was formed. The group became famous thanks to the film "Brother", in which the composition "Rot Your Line" sounded. It is also the most listened to Russian-language rock band on the Last FM radio station. The band still exists and continues to delight fans with more and more new tracks. You can also hear this song on Vladivistok FM radio, do you remember from which game?)

6. Civil Defense

Another team that fell apart, like the Union. In general, the band is quite diverse in terms of genres: here you have punk, and garage, and psychedelic, and noise. The legendary Siberian team grew out of Yegor Letov's first project "Sowing". The project existed for two and a half years and during this time recorded eleven albums, designed exclusively for the needs of the group. The Civil Defense group was formed on November 8, 1984 and at first existed in parallel with the Sowing project. Initially, Yegor Letov (vocals, guitar, drums), Konstantin Ryabinov (bass guitar) and Andrey Babenko (guitar) played in the band. In 1985, the latter left the band, and the remaining members continued their creative activity, taking pseudonyms for themselves, which were indicated in the imprint of their magnetic albums. Letov took the name Egor (his real name is Igor), and Ryabinov called himself Kuzey UO (UO stands for "mentally retarded"). All the time the composition changed, only Letov was a permanent member, with whose death in 2008 the history of GrOba was cut short

7. BI-2

This exciting story began in 1985, when two Belarusian teenagers Lyova and Shura met on the stage of the Minsk theater studio "Rond". Belarusian boys and girls aged 14 to 18, instead of drinking in the basements, were seriously addicted to the theater of the absurd. the youth studio mastered first Boris Vian (the performance was closed at the third show), and then Beckett with his play “Waiting for Godot” (this production lived even less, bent at the hands of the Komsomol members already at the second show), and the “bald singer” Ionesco. In the end, the leadership of the "Palace of Pioneers" completely covered up the crowd of talented youth, who, without getting too upset, decided to try their hand at the musical field.Shura began to attend a music school, played the double bass in a brass band, and Leva actively scribbled texts. soon the teenagers decided that they were already ripe for creating their own group. So, in 1988, the prototype of the band appeared, which is now known as BI-2.

The real recognition and popularity of the group comes in 1986 on the wave of Perestroika, becoming a real legend. Although the composition of Aquarium changed several times, Boris Grebenshchikov always remained the permanent leader of the group. The group's songs have become real classics, which other musicians are happy to quote and rehash.

9. DDT

"DDT" is a real legend of Russian rock, at the helm of which for more than 30 years is Yuri Shevchuk, who wrote most of the group's songs that became hits. The team plays unobtrusive rock with blues and jazz motives. The group has always paid a lot of attention to socially and socially important topics, although there are several very successful ironic, love and philosophical singles.
