EVE's active player base has doubled in the past year, and it's a very niche MMO that haters call "Excel spreadsheets in space" and, in principle, one of the most complex games in the history of the industry. In any case, EVE is unlike the traditional Korean grinder.

CSR CEO, Hilmar Veigar Pétursson (it looks like longships are sailing off the cold shores of Iceland), believes that the next rebirth of EVE was due to three key factors: the sale of skills, the release of a major Citadel update, and - of course! - the addition of free to play, without which it is impossible in modern MMOs.

The Citadel update was a logical continuation of the ideas that took shape back in 2008, with the advent of the giant Titan-class space cruisers. The question is rhetorical, of course. So the EVE elite had something to strive for directly, and newcomers had something to dream about.

By the way, such a clear comparison with real life is not accidental: the SSR boss himself declares that EVE is only 50% a game. The remaining 50% is an experiment in the field of social economy. But in practice, things went wrong. Synchronization between console and PC servers was abysmal, EVE players didn't want to wait for long planetary matches to finish (not the pace they were used to), and the release version of Dust 514 came out at the very end of the PS3's lifecycle. And one more factor: if in EVE Online envy of the unattainable heads of megacorporations is ephemeral (as in real life), then in Dust there was free to play of the most disgusting kind. It is important to understand one thing: EVE is not a difficult game
It is difficult to understand and difficult to master, but it is not difficult to play it. At least not harder than any other game.

First of all, the difficulty lies in the fact that it is not like what you have played before. Absolutely.

Unfriendliness to beginners, it is made on purpose, a kind of screening of those who will not pull the game.

Returning to this game, after a pause of a year and a half, I decided to give up on all my pilots, on all their learned skills and start from scratch, in the process describing what and how to do.

Here is the first result. I will describe the mistakes that I made at the start, in the context of the guide on training missions. Let's go.

After the first login, you will be explained how to use the interface, how to fly, how to warp, how to go through a hypergate, and so on. These are just the basics of management, nothing more.

You will be taught to play by the first agents (these are NPCs located at space stations), which are distributed by profession: Research, Army, Advanced Combat Training Course, Trade, Production.

After the first acquaintance with Eva, based on the experience of other MMOs, I thought that they would let me choose the class for which I would play. This is my first mistake.

The first thing to do is complete the tasks of all these agents. In a global sense, the order of passing is not important. But the difficulty of passing, especially for those who play for the first time, varies greatly.

My second mistake, there was no understanding of the principles of teaching. I, like all of you, got used to the fact that in training, we point with the finger what to buy, what to learn, what to install, and so on.

You will be told everything in general, but the details, you need to cover yourself.

My third mistake, a consequence of the first error. I started with the Army and after a sweaty passage, deciding that I specialized in a class, I went on quests further. Then they bent me cruelly, leaving me without money, without belongings and without a ship. Respawning at the station, in full ah * e, I sit and think - is that all? What the hell am I supposed to do?!))

In short, the algorithm at the start is as follows: we go through all the learning agents. After completing the missions of the next agent, he says that your training is over and offers to fly to some hell, to another agent, to complete tasks. I will say right away that all training agents, after completing their quest chains, offer to fly to the Sisters of Eve. WE IGNORE.

P. 1-3 is PVE. During the execution you will be given a lot of normal ships, skills, modules. In the process, you will more or less get used to what is happening around, get fat (learn skills) and pvp branches with nps p. 4-5 will pass on easy. During the passage, feel free to buy skills yourself in the station marketplace and learn them. You will face the problem that there are a lot of skills and the question will naturally arise - What the hell should I teach? Look at the Certificates (the second tab after the skills, in the skills menu in the profile), there the skills are grouped according to the directions and depth of study (Initial skills > more advanced level of study + new ones > and so on). In order for you to understand the essence of the inhibition mentioned above, then for example, if you launch cruise missiles with the name Cruise Missile at an interceptor with the name Interceptor, which develops a significantly higher speed than this type of missile, then they simply will not be able to hit their own target, due to that they can't catch up with her.

The following launchers are used for frigates. Freegate Launchers:

- rocket launchers for this type of ships are called Rocket Launcher, they are characterized by high speed, but the flame is produced by rather weak rockets, which, moreover, can only be launched over a short distance;

- standard launchers of this type of ships are called Standard Launcher, they are distinguished by high speed, but the flame is fired by light-type missiles, which are not strong enough, in addition, they can only be launched at a distance of no more than average.

For cruisers, the following launchers are used. Cruise Launchers:

- assault launchers of this type of ships are called Assault Launcher, they are distinguished by high speed, but the flame is produced by rather weak and light rockets, by the way they are faster than the Standard Launcher type;

- heavy launchers of this type of ships are called Heavy Launchers, they are distinguished by the fact that they release a flame with a heavy type of missiles, which cause damage to a target of medium severity, in addition, they have an average speed, and their range of hitting a target is huge.

For battleships, the following launchers are used. Battleship Launchers:

- launchers of cruise missiles of this type of ships are called Cruise Launcher, they differ in that the flame from such installations is carried out with the help of cruise missiles, they are characterized by their high level of damage, they are effective for attacks at a great distance, but their speed is quite moderate, based on from this, it is not possible to hit all targets with this type of missile;

- siege launchers of this type of ships are called Siege Launcher, they differ in that they launch rockets with high speed, unlike the first type of installations for this ship. In addition, it is also possible to launch torpedoes from this installation, which, of course, are significantly inferior to the first in speed, but hitting their own target, they will be more effective and ruthless.

At the time when you start looking for weapons for your own spaceship, then initially the territory of your search should be limited to the region. To do this, you will need to open the game market window called Market and in that place set the designation in the search column to the next range indicator - Region. Then, turn off an option like Show active items only, which restricts your search to only show you items that are cheap. In other words, after doing these steps, you will be able to get acquainted with all the goods located in the zone of your region, including those that are currently out of reach.

In order to use such slots as Mid-Slots and Lo-Slots, you need to select the appropriate mid or lo devices, and, without fail, have some knowledge and, of course, the resources of your own ship. The larger the ship, the more such slots it will be possible to install on it over time. But all these devices must necessarily be related to the class of your character, it is unrealistic to install devices of the second classes.
