State of decay how many missions. Walkthrough State of Decay

1) In the original game and in the Breakdown add-on, there was such a problem: you take a partner with you, spend 100 influence on it, and he dumps after 5 minutes. During this time, I only managed to loot a couple of houses, because I still had to get there or run carefully. Actually, I could not solve this particular problem, but I found ways that many have discovered themselves, but this is advice for those who are still suffering.

There are a variety of quests associated with your own or with other groups of survivors:

Your collector is lost

A gatherer from a group of survivors cannot drag all the swag to their base

A person has disappeared in the neighboring group - you need to find and check several houses

Someone is looking for a party to kill some zombie (any - tank, rotten, animal, special forces ..)

A quest with your friend, who was hit by depression (not the one where you need to shoot him, but the one where you need to prevent it). There, the task will say that you need to kill a couple of zombies and return, and a house will be marked on the map.

Quest "take the survivors to the base (1-3 people)

- "Combat training"

Could have missed something

The bottom line is that in each of these quests 1-2-3 people join you and they will follow you until the quest is completed, but more often - until you bring them to THEM at the base (in this case, your base you can visit as many times as you like). If you single-handedly aggro a crowd of zombies, there are only chances if you have: a shotgun / molotov / wheelbarrow or the ability to dump. Perhaps, at the first or second level of difficulty, you can cut it alone, the fathers, mb, will be able to win by 3-4, but then - until I see it - I won’t believe it. If there is any help, it becomes realistic to cope, although in this case there are problems.

In the Lifeline add-on, this problem is solved by the developers (when the game was released, the partners followed you until you let go or until they got tired to death. Or maybe they continued to follow, but I sent them to sleep, there is no sense in a fighter who falls after one contact with zombie)

Some quests, such as "combat training", do not allow you to go to another part of the map, notifying the player that he is leaving the quest area. In this case, if you drive far enough, the quest will fail, trust and influence will be lost. Here you need to either stay in the city and look for happiness in it, wandering around the houses, or complete the quest (clear a couple of houses) and only after that go with the student to the other end of the map) Personally, sometimes my students immediately run home, sometimes they continue to follow me . What's the bug, I don't know.

2) Many, including myself, whined about the lack of trunks. They appeared in Lifeline, which attracted many. I hasten to please those who have not logged into the game for a long time, now trunks have appeared in previous content. In steam, you just need to update or download again, in the case of pirates, in theory, you need to download the patch.

Most cars have a large trunk for 6 seats (all pickups, coupes, taxis, which is logical), sports cars and pizza delivery cars (very small) - 4 seats. At the same time, 6 places can be filled with 6 bags of resources, or you can fill them with dolls, alarm clocks, cartridges - anyway, each item will occupy a separate slot as in the inventory.

At the same time, if you justify an outpost in another town, you will not be able to hand over resources there, this can only be done at the base. But there it will be possible to replenish equipment and hand over excess cargo from the inventory.

3) Contact with survivors is useful. Periodically, tasks appear on the map - contact the survivors, it may be possible to make a deal - figurines: they will ask you to save someone's fifth point or clear the red house. But at least they will help. Completing these quests increases the credibility of THIS group of survivors and increases your popularity. I didn’t fully understand it, but I got the feeling that the higher the popularity, the faster the trust of other groups is earned. When the trust of any group has reached its maximum (the line is filled), they will be asked to join you.

They will not be superfluous, although it is likely that among the newcomers there will be some kind of troublemaker who will demotivate the group. It is also important to make sure there are enough beds. Most, if not all, groups of survivors that need to be trusted in order to join are made up of three people. If one of them died the death of the brave, a new one will not appear (I didn’t appear, but more than one didn’t die, but I don’t think that the last survivor will so easily agree to join an unfamiliar team, although he has few options) .

In addition, if the base is full or for some other reason you do not want to unite with some group of survivors (you don’t like the name or you are annoyed by the fat man or drunk in their composition), in any case, consider that their shelter is an extra outpost, in which, however, most likely, it will not be possible to replenish supplies due to their absence. But in this case, it is better not to refuse them (there are three possible answers: Yes, no, and not now (the meaning is this)) and not to talk to them at all. Your outpost will not go anywhere, but the base of survivors, if you start feeding them breakfast, may fall.

An important point, if, saving the lost, kill him (with a grenade or a molotov, because sometimes this is the best way to deal with a crowd of zombies that have already knocked down the poor fellow and are going to tear him apart), the task will fail, your popularity will decrease and the trust, it seems, of everyone groups, and yours in that strength, will be undermined.

4) my favorite base- a warehouse in the northern part of the southwestern city. To move into it, 10 people and 40 building materials are needed. There is a lot of space for construction, a lot of available outposts, 4 parking lots. As far as I remember, the stadium in the north is equivalent, but there is an inconvenient location for my taste. But a lot of ammunition.

The farm in the center is quite nice, but more suitable for lovers of the countryside. Of the pluses: there are no houses nearby where zombies with screamers can settle (red marker), but this is also a minus - you can’t establish an outpost nearby to better protect the base. Yes, and you will always have to travel for resources, although not for the first time and there will be enough different structures in the fields. But at the same time, the base turns out to be approximately equidistant from all the towns, and you can quickly drive across the field. but there is a BUT..

5) Be extremely careful when avoiding any obstacle on the side of the road and in general when driving across the field: at high speed, a small pebble that is easy to miss can work like a wonderful springboard. The car will roll over, and you risk being in a crowd of zombies. If you can take your legs out of there and return with reinforcements or full ammunition, there will most likely be no car with a load in place (Bitter experience.

The most dangerous places are places where you can develop the highest speed and where you need to go around burnt cars.

East City: Behind the pharmacy behind the bridge and at the southern edge of the city, across from the trailer park.

Northern city: on the eastern road, immediately after the hill, if you go north.

The field is all uneven areas.

I voiced these places, because I turned over there more than once and died once

6) There are lovers to measure their strength on axes with tank (fat trust), I prefer to deal with him with an unnecessary car and a Molotov. Over and over again I crash into him with a car until he catches fire or throws black smoke, I try to bring the fat man close to the burning car and if he does not explode, I help him with a molotov or a grenade. It also often happens that a fat man rests on a doorway and cannot go further (into a house or from room to room. What is a bug, I don’t know: his penetration into the house or getting stuck in the door). The same molotov / grenades and shotgun / rifle work well here. Minuses of Molotov and grenades - in case of an unfortunate set of circumstances, you can kill a partner.

From a shotgun - from a minimum distance to the head. From a rifle - just in the head. You can also use a pistol.

I do not recommend using machine guns, since quickly discharging a clip into it will not be effective: due to recoil, some of the bullets will go into milk, and if you shoot slowly, the effect will be the same as that of a pistol, the only difference will be in the lethal force of the weapon , see it in the game yourself.

7) From melee weapons I prefer heavy weapons. Its main difference is damage to the area in front of you, and not to the target, as in the case of light weapons. A couple of hits and a few zombies are lying on the ground, and the phrase: "FINISH HIM" flashes through your memory. In the case of a light weapon, you would still have to dodge, and then the energy consumption would be higher than from a couple of strokes of a shovel. Plus there is a skill for heavy weapons - scatter enemies, saves.

8) From firearms most often I use a shotgun or a pistol with a silencer (by the way, I was very pleased in the game that silencers work naturally - for a limited number of shots). Sniper weapons in the game are deprived of the usual sniper scope, their difference is only in a larger zoom. Well, in terms of power.

9) Generally, from weapons I advise you to choose the quietest. Silencers can be put on almost all, if not all, pistols. And to apply only in extreme situations, but this is so, I suppose. obviously, especially if someone watches "The Walking Dead" - everything is explained there)

10) stealth mode not very developed in the game, consider it only for movement. You will sneak up on a zombie quietly, but kill him so loudly that the surrounding zombies will definitely hear. Hiding in thickets can be useful, but these thickets are not often found.

11) Outposts can be used as a base cover - set up a couple nearby, in such a case crowds of zombies will regularly be blown up by mines. Can be used as transfer points in other towns, where you can replenish ammunition and throw off unnecessary items from your inventory. It is worth noting that bags with resources can only be handed over at the base, outposts are not suitable for this. A base of ~15 people is easier than ever to provide with all the necessary outposts (provided that there is a vegetable garden at the base). A couple of houses with food, a couple of medicines, a police station with cartridges and resources will accumulate, all that remains is to maintain their number so that nothing spoils - it spoils the mood of the survivors, and it will be a shame themselves)

12) Sometimes Lily will tell you what the members of your group want to see at the base: a first-aid post, a kitchen, etc. The construction of these buildings can raise morale. The construction of outposts also affects the mood of the group.

13) A rather tedious quest to open the character "merchant" - kill the car door of 400 zombies. It is most convenient to perform on a modern pickup truck - it is the strongest, at night, beeping without ceasing) Be careful in the city - if an open door hits a pole, fence, house or any other strong obstacle, it can fall off and zombies can easily throw you out of the car.

14) Quests for opening other characters, during which you need to kill a certain number of zombies with a certain weapon or burn them, are most conveniently completed by climbing onto some kind of elevation, such as a small observation deck or tower. Shouting out a couple of affectionate ones will attract the attention of zombies, then shoot them with headshots, preferably without a silencer, to attract even more zombies. It will be handy if you can lure the screamer, he attracts other zombies better than your screams (he may be spamming them around the corner). When the quest is completed or the ammo runs out, exit the game. The progress will be saved, the character will return to the base. Ammunition and everything that has been used up will not be returned. If you went by car, it will not be there either, so choose a place where you can get on your two

15) A level 1 vegetable garden provides 5 rations per day. If upgraded to the second level - it will provide 3-4 rations per day, BUT with an experienced gardener, the food gain will be equal to the number of stars in the "gardening" skill of the one who will be in charge of the garden. In other words, do not immediately rush to improve the garden, you need to wait until there is a gardener and as best as possible.

16) This is probably a bug in the Steam version, but what is written in the column of daily income / expenses regarding building materials is nonsense. It worked when the game first came out. Nominal consumption, for example, -20 \ day, and it turned out, it was more expensive for yourself to try to accumulate building materials to build something. Now the costs are only for construction, for damage to materials (if the warehouse is overloaded) and occasionally for any events like repairing the fence. In this case, an inscription will be displayed that the mood has fallen by a certain number of points and a certain amount of building materials has also been spent. Lily can also say something about this on the radio - a tragedy! our fence broke, ah-ah-ah, we need to fix it.

17) When you are about to leave the city to move to a new level of difficulty, you should know that no matter which character you started the game with, you will play the new level with the one who was active at the time the last game was completed. The inventory of this character will be completely preserved, all influence will be reset to zero - they will give the standard 100 points, if I'm not mistaken. At the same time, the entire arsenal of the base will be preserved. As an option - take the most necessary, and the most expensive for an empty seat. So it will be possible to slightly increase the influence, which will immediately justify a couple of outposts.

That's all for now, I hope this helps someone. If I remember or think of something else, I'll add it.

So, how to survive in a quiet and almost deserted corner of the planet, where even for a random fart you will either be torn to pieces or turned into a dead man? When starting the game for the first time now, you will encounter two Watafaks (wtf). Why is there no Russian language, and what keys to poke?

About the first- I can advise you to download the translation, it is already on the Internet.

About the second If anyone hasn't found it yet, here it is:

Now, some ticklish moments....

You may have a feeling of paradox, they say, while in the house, the mouse behaves very slowly, and when aiming it flies so that it is impossible to aim normally. I already wrote about this in the forum, but so that you don’t look for this post now, I’ll repeat: in this game, the mouse has NO SENSITIVITY, the camera and the sight always rotate AT THE SAME SPEED, so by adjusting the Sensitivity in the Game, you simply adjust the CAMERA ROTATION SPEED. And the Speed is the same regardless of whether you move the mouse smoothly or sharply. So for your convenience, of course, it's best to always move the mouse smoothly, even if a Feral or Juggernaut is running at you.

Force majeure! Sometimes situations arise that you understand: "I'm not getting out of here alive!" Often this happens when you are attacked by the Horde, and in parallel with it, left zombies are still jumping, or two Feral attack you. At the beginning of the game, this is quite difficult, since your Cardio is not pumped, you quickly die, and then they start tearing you apart, and eventually tearing you apart. To avoid this, and not to lose the player (whom you have been pumping for a long time and stubbornly, honed his skills), you can press ESC and exit to the Main Menu. Then click "Continue game" and VOILA! You are at your base, a little shabby, true, but LIVE!

Sick/Tired. Looking at your "Organizer", you may notice that some of your followers are filled with Red (Sick) or Blue (Tired) color. You will not be able to take such people with you to the company on a sortie until they recover. What do these statuses mean? Look, usually in standard games, two indicators are responsible for the amount of Health (or Fatigue): the current state and the allowed maximum. Usually, using various kinds of first-aid kits, we try to raise our current state to the maximum, and then we say that the character is healthy. IN THIS GAME, THREE indicators are responsible for these values. For health it is:

Actually Health (Health) - roughly speaking, this is the same red stripe that is undesirable to bring to zero.

Vitality - this is, roughly speaking, the very maximum to which you can cure yourself (raise your red stripe)

Vital Force Potential (MAX VITALITY) - this is the frame to which you can bring your Life Force. If your Life Force is below the Potential level, then your character is "sick". Usually Vitality decreases if you bring your health to zero. Then your character falls to his knees in impotence, and the enemies continue to beat him, taking away from him not Health, but Vitality. If the Vitality reaches zero, your character is eaten, torn apart, well, in general, they give him FATALITY!))) If you managed to recover during the beating, you replenish your health, but only to the line that your current Life Force. And then you need to go to the base to recover there. Life force can be raised to potential by radio with the command "Medical statement" . As far as I understand, this command appears in your list when you help Doc Hanson. Perhaps there are drugs that "treat" your Vital Force, if I find it, I will definitely let you know.

The same goes for fatigue: three indicators - Fatigue, Endurance, Endurance Potential. Only your Stamina drops while playing as a character. In such a case, you may see on your gauge that your Fatigue cannot recover to the very limit. So your character is "Tired". Fatigue is also treated at the base, but you can do it alternatively. You can ask the Shepherd on the walkie-talkie to read you a prayer online, and then your Endurance will again reach its potential. Very quirky and comfortable. There are also some drugs that increase your Stamina. Also, stamina is great. skill Cardio (CARDIO).

Very ill (SICK). There are times when one of your members has SICK status. It's pretty shitty stuff. And to cure it, you need to develop your medical center to level 3.

Missing (Missing). In this case, you need to climb to various viewpoints (towers) and look for those places where your companion could approximately disappear. As soon as you find the right point, you will have the mission "Missing Survivor". And you just have to come to the place and pick it up.

Nobody wants to be on the team. The difficulty also lies in the fact that you will not always be able to take members of your camp (base) with you on a sortie. This is due to several reasons. 1. As I already wrote, you will not be able to take the sick and tired into the team, wait until they recover. 2. Only those who are considered your "friend" can be taken to the team. This can be checked in the "organizer" in the "base members" tab. If the character is a friend of yours, you will see "FRIEND" written on it. 3. It happens that some "Healthy Friends" go somewhere, then in the same tab you will see the inscription "AWAY FROM HOME" or "ON A MISSION".

The scout was killed (the problem was relevant in the first days after the release of the game, now many already know how to solve it). Sometimes it happens that when you search the next building in search of resources, you find more than one resource. You can attach only one resource to yourself. But what about the rest? In this case, you can call on the walkie-talkie scout. A scout is any member of your base who has volunteered to help you pull resources to your base. You can wait for him at the destination, or you can score and do your other things, and the scout will rummage around the house himself. There is a question of profit, what exactly is important to you at the moment. You will perform together - you will earn a reputation, separately - just replenish the stock of the base. You can always find out about the activities of the scouts by talking from the radio. If the scout asks for help (the "Scout in trouble" icon appears on the map), I advise you to help him immediately, otherwise he may die.

Build bedrooms. Over time, many characters will join you. But if there are not enough beds in your bases, some people will leave.

I can't rebase. The base can be changed after quest Jacob Ritter when he argues with Lily in church about moving. You go with him on the road to look for nice places. Some places you can find yourself. This area is called POTENTIONAL HOME SITE. To move to a new base, you will need a certain amount of building materials. You can find out this amount while on the "Potential" zone or by hovering over this territory in the map mode (for example Requires Materials: 50 - you need 50 building materials). The relocation team is on your radio.

Weapon reload glitch. Sometimes it happens that you pressed the R button, and the character did not recharge. As far as I understand it works sheathing principle . This means that when you stop swinging an ax or firing a pistol, the character hides this weapon back in his pocket, in his bosom or somewhere else. So, if the reloading process has not yet ended, and the character has removed the weapon (in this case, it means small arms), then the reloading is not counted. The solution to the problem is this: reload in aim mode, because while the character is aiming, he does not hide the weapon. And again, if you start reloading in aiming mode, but a zed runs up to you, and you need to urgently beat him off, or you don’t beat him off and he bites you, the reload again does not count (obviously and quite logically).

Zombies are a rock for a car! No, I certainly don't mean that if you hit a zed with a car, the car will stop abruptly - no, you will hit the zed. But the hit itself will be counted to you in the same way as hitting the rock, and after a few hits, the car starts to smoke! Also, cars have a GTA-shnoe property to explode when they are on the verge of a critical breakdown. Plus, the sound of the car attracts zombies, and if you stopped at some shop to loot and heard an explosion outside, it means that curious zombies ran to the rumble of your car, and before it cooled down, they decided to beat it with their fists.

door wars. I don’t know about you, but I really like to wet zombies with a door. A zombie is knocking on my house, striving to break it, brute. I calmly walk up to the other side of the door and push the door with my shoulder!)) Zed flies back (there is a chance that he will die when falling or from hitting the door). Also, if you are driving in a car and a zed has stuck to the driver's door, you can poke LMB several times and the zed will fall off. BUT! If Zed is attached to you with right side - BRAKES and GET OUT of the car, otherwise he will tear the hell out of the door and throw you out of the car himself.)))

Magic Button B. You may come across a moment that may mislead you. As you know, the toy is primarily designed for the Xbox, and, accordingly, the settings show us which button on the joystick corresponds to which function. And now the game tells us "Press B to save the settings", or open a notepad, and there is an explanation "B - back". In this case, we are talking about PCM. But here we have a situation: you are attacked by a Feral (Feral) and knocks you to the ground, and the system tells us "Press B to get out!" You press-press RMB, but he does not get off you. Here is an interesting aspect. Remember: If you are in a notepad or menu, then the RMB button is responsible for B, and if you are in the game, sneaking or throwing zombies off you, then LEFT CTRL is already responsible for B. Also, when using special moves, if the B key is mentioned, press LEFT CTRL.

From the forum: Heavy Weapon is the best to use . I don't know, I don't know, guys... Personally, I pumped Marcos (the Main character) to the maximum in close combat and chose the specialization in Edged Weapons, and you know, I don't regret it. This specialization gave me two choices to choose from. I chose "Swing Kick", and now with the help of SHIFT + LMB I can chop off the legs (arms or all at once) of an ordinary zed (Zeds are called zombies) with the first blow. The trick is that without limbs, zed can't do anything to you and will just lie on the ground and squirm. If you do not have time to finish him off, he will die himself. The downside is that if you don't finish him off, his death doesn't count as a bonus to your skill.

How to download CARDIO. Cardio swings through grueling workouts. It is very beneficial to train at your base, where you are somehow protected from attack. You simply run around the area until you are exhausted, then, when fatigue is replenished, run again. Ignore the fact that your stamina decreases (until it drops below half). There is a little trick, I stumbled upon it by accident. Look, I got to the point where my Stamina was 20% of potential. I filled my backpack with snacks (Snack), went out into the yard, took one bite and rushed around the house!)) What is the chip? And the fact is that even if Endurance is low and is 20% of the maximum, the very process of restoring Fatigue is focused on replenishing by POTENTIAL. Roughly speaking, I run until I'm tired replenished ! And even though my stamina was about 30 out of 140 points, the snack was trying to make up exactly 140 points. This is such an interesting feature.))

Now a little about skills: there are 4 main skills in the game that each character has. And minor, which are not assigned to all characters. All skills level up just like in Elder Scrolls - what you use, you level up. Let's take a closer look at these skills.

Cardio As I wrote above, it swings by repeatedly lowering the level of fatigue, and in the end it gives us an increase in Endurance Potential.

Observation (Wit) It swings by periodic reviews from towers and searches for things in abandoned buildings. Increases search speed.

Close combat (Fighting) Swings thanks to the kills of zeds from your hands and melee weapons. ATTENTION! Raises the Potential of Life Force!

Melee leveling allows you to further choose a specialization for Blunt, Slashing, or Bulky weapons . shaking Chopping you raise chance to behead . shaking blunt - Chance to bring the enemy to their knees to finish them off later . bulky - Mighty Strike Chance (This strike slightly pushes the enemy back and turns them into a knockdown)..

By specializing in stupid weapons, you can choose one of two methods: Uppercut or Backhand Kick

By pumping Slash, you can choose Cutting blow to the legs or Decapitation.

Rocking Bulky, you can choose sweeping blow or Area spread.

All moves are done in combination. SHIFT+LMB

Shooting Swings due to kills of zeds from your trunks. Reduces recoil o_o

Exists 5 Specializations in Firearms.

Pistols - increase shooting speed

Revolvers - increase killing power

Shotguns - increase the affected area

Rifles - increase firing range

Assault rifles (automatic) - improve fire control.

Now they are minor PERSONAL (boosted and applied when you play as a character and are out of base) and PUBLIC (affect how the characters participate in the development of the base)

PERSONAL

Reflexes Swing in the same way as melee. Increases the rate of recovery from fatigue.

Reflexes give you a choice of one of two techniques: STEP or TURNING SHOCK. Both methods work with pressing the E key(Please note that I always indicate the English keyboard layout in order to preserve aesthetics! Since I am not writing SHIFT, but SHIFT, then the letters are in Latin). STEP knocks the enemy to the ground, and TURNING KIT slightly knocks back the enemy.

Powerhouse Swings like melee. Increases Critical Strike Damage.

LeadershipPersonally, I have observed that it swings when you help other members of the camp. Increases the number of participants in your party.

PUBLIC

Chemistry

Counseling

Agronomy (Horticulture)

Cooking

Construction

Literature

Medicine

Research

Is there some more "Gaga" skills. Their pumping does not depend on you. So, for example, alcoholics have the "Drink" skill (DRINK), it swings randomly, and when the character is not under your control.

All PERSONAL, PUBLIC and GAG skills are NON-CORE. And NON-CORE skills are inherently "natural", i.e. you will not be able to select them as Specializations or Techniques. Roughly speaking, the character must be born with these skills. Characters usually have one or two Minor Skills.

How to kill SpecialZombie.

screamer. One of the first who meets us at the beginning of the game. It does not pose a particular danger to our health. But he emits a piercing screech that can immobilize you for a moment (animation with ears closing), and on the other hand, other zombies can run to the scream. Killed in the usual way.

Military. This is an ordinary zombie, dressed in armor. Killed in hand-to-hand combat.

poisonous zombie. Explodes near you, poisoning you. If you drove past him in a car, and he gasped, then the interior of your car is filled with vapors of his poison, leave the vehicle immediately. Better to kill with small arms.

Feral (fierce). One of the heavy enemies. It makes a sharp jerk in your direction, and if it catches you, it will fall to the ground and begin to gnaw. You'll have to be diligent in pressing ctrl to reset it. To avoid this, dash to the side when he starts to jump. And when he misses, attack!

Berserk. In my opinion, this is the most difficult enemy, because I still can’t figure out how to bring him down. And when I manage to kill him, I don’t have time to understand what he died from. Due to the fact that he is big and fat (and very aggressive), I can assume that blows to the stomach will not do anything to him. Most likely you need to shoot him in the head (repeatedly).

The game takes place in an open world environment where you must survive the zombie apocalypse by rescuing survivors, rebuilding civilization and scavenging supplies. If you are on a desperate call for help, there are some walkthrough guides available for State Decay 2.

Unfortunately, there are also some obvious elements of merit signaling in the game, including the notorious ebony black woman, a lesbian who doesn't need any man. Literally, there is a black lesbian and her white friend under the "Eternal Gap" couple.

Gameriot, wanting to recognize virtue as "woken up" by him as a typical Social Justice learned YouTuber, decided to play as a black lesbian and her white girlfriend.

State of Decay 2 Controls

After selecting a character, a short cinematic will be shown with the character you selected. No matter which characters you choose, it will always go through the Army Refugee Tutorial.

Once you get to the army refugee camp, some zombies will be inside and start attacking you. Press "X" on the Xbox controller to attack the zombies. Keep attacking your target until they are killed. You will need to watch your stamina when attacking because if you keep attacking you will have stamina and your attacks won't be as effective.

Use the right trigger plus "X" to end the zombies that are still crawling on the ground.

Press "B" on the Xbox controller to dodge attacks.

You need to spend a lot of time looting. Press "Y" on your Xbox controller to search for items.

Press the left bumper while searching to perform a quick search to speed up the search process. However, a quick search will create a lot of noise and may alert the zombies.

The right bumper will allow you to quickly use the items in your quick inventory. It is located in the lower left corner of the screen, next to your health and stamina bar.

Use the left and right number pad to cycle through the available items.

In dark areas, you can press the left analog pad to activate the flashlight.

Move through the refugee camp and collect items from glowing boxes, cabinets and storage boxes.

Click on the digital pad to open inventory. You can assign different items to your main hand and outside, as well as melee and ranged weapons.

Follow the linear paths through the refugee camp until you reach a segment of invisibility. Use "Right Trigger" and "X" to hide dead zombies from behind. Once you interact with the Creeker, you will encounter a short cinematic where the soldier will save your duet.

You need to go to a doctor who will give you a gun and you will need to kill the caged zombies. Once you get out, you need to talk to Sawyer, a soldier, and they will ask you where you should go next. You will have the choice of visiting the foothills, plateau or valley.

Sawyer will make you go. You can get in and out of cars as in Grand Theft Auto using the "Y" button on the Xbox controller. You can speed up with the right trigger and slow down with the left trigger.

About the game

State of Decay is an open world survival horror video game. The game is being developed by Undead Labs. In State of Decay, the player takes control of a group of survivors of a zombie apocalypse and ensures their rescue, including searching for supplies, setting up a camp and moving around the world surrounded by many aggressive zombies. Microsoft is the publisher.

State of Decay is by no means Left 4 Dead, in which the brave four shred the dead right and left. Not very similar to State of Decay and DayZ, and Dead Rising, and ZombiU. In its focus, State of Decay is most reminiscent of Dead State from DoubleBear Productions, where groups of survivors not only fight hordes of zombies who want to taste juicy human meat, but also improve their lives in the conditions of the onset zombie apocalypse: collect supplies, make dangerous sorties into destroyed warehouses and shops, build fortifications and search for other people.

Initially, the developers planned to make a multiplayer role-playing game out of State of Decay (similar to The War Z or DayZ), but later they abandoned this idea, deciding to focus on creating a single-player project. By the way, I must say that representatives of Undead Labs once worked within the walls of Blizzard on one of the most famous MMOs, whose name is World of Warcfart.

The plot of the game

The action of State of Decay is developing on the territory of one of the American states, which means that players can meet both large settlements and cities, as well as very deserted territories from the “bear corner” category. At first glance, it seems that the game has a standard gameplay for this kind of projects, as gamers are engaged in the usual, in general, things: hiding from zombies and trying to make as little noise as possible so as not to be unexpectedly attacked, shoot from all trunks, if vile creatures still notice them, and so on. But after a while you realize that State of Decay is still different from most other projects of a similar genre. In the game, for example, a lot of emphasis is placed on the use of cars. Interestingly, there is no protagonist as such in State of Decay. Players can move into any of the team members and take control of them - for example, in the event of the death of one of their favorite characters. There are a lot of people that you can take on your team in State of Decay, and they all differ from each other not only in appearance, but also in their abilities.

Game process

Unlike Left 4 Dead and Dead Island, State of Decay focuses more on survival, stealth, providing the player with resources, and progressing through the game world. The game will have a completely open world for exploration, dynamically changing depending on the decisions made by the player. The player is given to explore the world with an area of 16 square kilometers. Players will be able to build watchtowers and barricades to protect themselves from the infected. Food, water, weapons, a roof over your head and ammunition - everything you need to survive. To get all of these, the player must search shops and abandoned buildings. You can also find groups of other survivors, sell them your resources or buy from them. The survivors themselves can be found in the district, near shops and various buildings. The player can team up with other survivors and they will survive together. One game day lasts 2 hours of real time.

Cars in State of Decay are not only a means of transportation around the state, but also the most real heavy weapon with which you can successfully fight the dead. What is the easiest way to get rid of a group of zombies blocking the path? Throw a grenade? Not a bad solution, but it is much more fun to shoot down the ghouls at full speed, smearing them on the asphalt or on the windshield. Passengers also play a significant role - they shoot back, throw off the most stubborn adversaries from the car body and help the player in every possible way, who is sitting “at the steering wheel of this damn vacuum cleaner”.

In State of Decay, you need to travel across vast territories, look for survivors, establish outposts, and even entire settlements. It is allowed to equip an area with a sign “Only for people” both in the city and in the countryside, and it directly depends on what conditions the residents find themselves in (there is a lot of food in the city, but there are a lot of zombies, and there are few zombies on the farm, but not much food, etc.). You can create both one settlement and several fragmented outposts. Also in State of Decay there is a kind of micromanagement - in the game you need to constantly monitor the amount of ammunition, food and other important things necessary for survival.

  1. The developers said that the game is a step towards the next project, multiplayer and large-scale Class4, where all the same things can be done collectively.
  2. The game was originally advertised as Class3, an Xbox exclusive. And after the advertising campaign "started again" as State of Decay for Xbox and PC.
  3. Undead Labs confirmed in January 2013 that State of Decay would not be released on the PlayStation 3.
  4. On November 29, the first expansion called Breakdown was released for the game. The add-on added a sandbox to the game and the ability to play with a weak plot.

How to survive in an open world with zombies? The State of Decay developers know the answer. This week we are going through the long-awaited novelty of this year, a game that is a mixture of horror and survival with stealth elements and God knows what else.

The main plot of the game tells about a certain Mark Campbell, who works as an ordinary clerk in a store. No, of course, he has some leadership qualities, he knows how to navigate the terrain, but in general he does not look like those supermen who are the main characters in other zombie games. One day, Campbell goes fishing in the mountains and discovers that the world has changed a lot. At Mount Tanner, Campbell sees the first zombies and, together with his friend Ed Jones, hurries to get out. Together they wander to the forester's station, where they cross paths with other survivors of the apocalypse. This group is led by Thomas Ritter.

The first thing to do after a disaster is to stock up on provisions, Campbell decides and goes to comb the area, finding new survivors in parallel. While he and his friends are working in the forest, one of the people is converted at the station. The newly appeared zombie manages to finish off the entire group. Ed also gets bitten.

After the survivors find the radio, they manage to contact a certain Lily, who introduces herself as the daughter of Thomas Ritter. She advises Campbell to get the people off the plateau and head towards the Church of the Ascension. There, Lily and several other citizens who survived the apocalypse set up a small base. To help Edd, whose condition is deteriorating right before our eyes, the girl advises finding a veterinarian and taking medicine from him.

While all these events are taking place, the US Army is bringing its troops into the valley. At first, the survivors rejoice, believing that the military will help them with the evacuation. In reality, it turns out that the army was transferred to the valley to contain the spread of the epidemic.

Campbell visits Judge Lawton, who is sitting in the courthouse along with local law enforcement officers. Judging, like the police, he believes that the epidemic that caused the appearance of zombies will eventually pass, and the monsters will disappear. His arguments do not convince the protagonist. After meeting Lawton, Campbell meets with the Wilkersons. It is difficult to say what they are: either a family or an armed group. But what becomes immediately clear is that they intend to profit well from the disaster.

After some time, the center in which Campbell and his people take refuge is subjected to a powerful zombie attack, people have to hastily evacuate from the zone. But where? The army has already completed the sealing of the valley ... Campbell needs to find Sergeant Tan, who will help the hero lead people through the northern wall of the barrier.

Speaking about the passage of State of Decay, it should be noted that, no matter how paradoxical it may be, the battles with zombies in the game are far from the first place. The game world is open, which means that any deviations are allowed within the main plot. How the gameplay will unfold will be determined at the stage of choosing the type of player and the place to build the base.

Construction, by the way, in the game is used for strategic purposes. Lookout towers, barricades, and gardens help keep zombies at bay. Also available for construction are sleeping quarters, workshops, first-aid posts, kitchens. Each of these elements has its own meaning. Some block is used for the speedy recovery of allies, some - for the manufacture of explosives.

The axiom of survival is the collection of food, medicine, ammunition and building materials. You also need to learn how to quickly find shelter from zombies. As a rule, each location offers its own set of items. Abandoned shops and supermarkets can boast of especially large stocks. If you are running out of provisions and there are no warehouses where you can replenish it, try to make a deal with groups of other survivors. Often they trade food for medical supplies or ammunition.

Replenishment of the detachment occurs at the expense of other survivors. Newcomers can work at a construction site, barricades, and perform repair work. They can be assigned small tasks, such as finding provisions or ammunition. The better the relationship of newcomers with the main character, the more likely it is that one day they will become playable. The main thing to learn at the beginning of the gameplay is that every decision, every new contact, every loss affects the development of the gameplay. Events will unfold on an area equal to 16 square kilometers. This is more than enough to enjoy the pictures of the post-apocalyptic world.

Another plus of the game is that all the characters that are present in the game have a good study. Not only do they differ in gender and skin color, but they also age over time. NPCs also create their own bases, which can be used by Campbell and his comrades. NPCs live their own lives and appear randomly in the player's field of vision. The plot characters are always located in strictly defined places.

Zombies also vary a lot. Characters that get bitten by a monster or killed by it also mutate over time. Zombies vary in size, gender, race. Especially dangerous are the so-called ferals or animal-like zombies. Not only are they very aggressive in their attack, but they can also infect territories where new zombies will spontaneously appear.

And, of course, no zombie game is complete without a weapon. There are about 100 types of weapons in State of Decay, a third of which are melee weapons. The weapon can jam, it's not new. But in the hands of an experienced fighter, even such a weapon always works perfectly. The combat experience of the character also allows you to minimize the return. In order not to attract zombies with shots, special silencers should be installed on firearms. Well, first of all, it is better to study the noise rating from weapons in your inventory.
