Water stickers for nails (video lesson)

The modern nail industry does not stand still, dictating more and more new trends. One of them was the slider design, which is a simplified form of decor in nail art. In fact, these are water-based stickers that are easily transferred to the nail plates.

Types of sliders in the nail service

There are several types of special stickers. Conventionally, they are divided into the following types:

• dense pattern;
• design on the entire surface of the nail;
• stickers with a transparent base.

Each of these types is suitable for its type of manicure. Slider design for nails is performed both on natural nails and with extensions.

Tight sliders

Dense stickers are considered universal, since they can be used on any nails, with any technology, on any basis. Lacquer of any color can act as the latter, whether it is a bright or delicate shade.

It is noteworthy that not every master can distinguish hand-painted from sliders, since the latter usually look so organically on a manicure that it is very problematic to see finished pictures in them.

Most often, thick stickers are used for French. Firstly, there is no need to master the intricacies of hand painting. Secondly, no special tools and materials are required, only varnish and sliders. Thirdly, this is an easy way to diversify manicure.

In order for the design to be as effective as possible, but not vulgar, it is worth thinking over the composition in advance, choosing a color scheme. It is far from always necessary to apply stickers on all nails, it is enough to select one or two on your hand to make the nail art stylish and beautiful. The color scheme is selected individually depending on preferences.

Design on the entire surface of the plates

Such nail sliders do not require special preparation before application. Their advantage is that they completely cover the nail plate, forming a single pattern and composition, which do not need to be supplemented with anything. This type of decals is used in any technology: lacquer, acrylic, gel or shellac.

Stickers with a transparent base

This type is most often used on a light or white background. Usually, bright pictures are chosen as a pattern that look favorably on the surface. It is extremely rare that such sliders are used directly during extension. But on the already modeled nails, the masters are very willing to place them, since this saves time on painting.

How to use transfer nail stickers

Using sliders is not difficult, but the application technology differs depending on which nails act as a base. So, for example, it is very easy to stick finished drawings on natural ones under varnish, but when building up, you will have to follow a few basic rules.

Under varnish

The free edge is shaped with a nail file, and the surface is carefully sanded to even out any possible bumps. First, a transparent and self-leveling base for manicure is applied, which should dry out. Then, if thick sliders are used, the base color varnish is applied. It must also dry, otherwise it will be smeared when gluing the decor. The stickers themselves for the slider design are moistened with water, then carefully separated from the paper on which they were held.

Apply a base coat of polish to your nails. If you printed the drawing yourself on special paper, you need to cover it with transparent varnish. If you have ready-made kits, you can skip this step.

The top transparent layer should move easily (if it doesn't, hold it in the water a little more). Place it on the nail plate with tweezers.

When the slider is completely dry, apply a top coat. Do not use quick dry lacquer!

Result! Drawings can be transferred one on top of the other and decorate!

You need to transfer them only to the area that was previously determined. You can press the sticker with a cotton swab or disc, but not hard.

If sliders with a transparent base are used, then the principle of their application is no different from the previous one, with the only difference being that it is recommended to use light non-pearl shades as the base color of the varnish. It is impossible to press the stickers strongly, otherwise ugly bubbles with air will appear under them.

When the design is finished, it is fixed with a protective nail polish or clear varnish. If necessary, you can add hand-painted (for example, a dotted ornament) or other decorative elements: rhinestones, broths, sand for nail art.

Under gel polish

The technology for applying sliders under gel polish is not much different from the technology for applying under varnish. First, the nails are carefully prepared, then the gel polish base is applied, dried in a lamp, according to the instructions. Then a color layer or French manicure is performed.

After drying, slider stickers are transferred to the sticky layer. After placing them, the final stage comes: a transparent topcoat that securely fixes the design. Such a manicure lasts for a long time: up to 4 weeks.

When building

Gluing ready-made water-based drawings when building up is not too difficult. After the nails are modeled and carefully filed, but not covered with a finishing layer of material, all dust is brushed off them. A thin layer of gel or acrylic is applied to the prepared surface, then the selected pattern is applied on top.

Remember that you cannot move the slider on acrylic, otherwise it will quickly dissolve it, and the gel must first be dried a little in a UV lamp. The design is fixed with a gel top. In acrylic technology, it can be replaced with a transparent varnish so that the decor does not “float” from the material.

How to use decals all over

Quick design with full size sliders is somewhat different from the methods above. Firstly, a picture or drawing occupies the entire surface of the nail. Secondly, the execution technology differs only at the preparation stage.

What are the advantages over photography

Slider design and photo design are different technologies. Firstly, the former do not have an adhesive rigid base, which sometimes needs to be cut to shape. Secondly, the variety of patterns, ornaments, prints is many times greater than that of. Thirdly, water-based pictures do not curl during operation, do not stick to the master's fingers or tools, which greatly simplifies working with them. And, of course, they are universal, since they can be used in any technology in the nail industry.

The use of such a quick design has become a salvation for those who want to get masterpieces on their fingers without any extra effort and skills. You can carry out the procedure in the salon, with private masters or completely independently at home. It is not necessary to supplement the design with other elements, especially if the selected pattern fully meets the requirements.
