Julia, you grew up in a large family, all your brothers and sisters are into music. Tell us more about your creative family.

I have five brothers and two sisters, mum. Dad, unfortunately, is no longer alive, but he is always with us! The whole family is engaged in music not only professionally, but rather it is our family hobby. Life without music, each of us simply does not think. But everyone understands that you can't really live "on music". ( Laughs.)

The family even organized a group: there are drums, bass guitar and guitar. Dad was a musical person, he could play any instrument. The brothers are all guitarists, but no one has a musical education, perhaps, only the older brother went to a music school, played the violin, so our whole family is nuggets.

My native person Lada writes songs, it was she who gave me a second wind in this profession. By the way, my brother's wife is from Baku. As a child, I often heard about this city, all kinds of delicacies were often brought from there. So far, it has so happened that I have not been able to visit Baku, but it always warms my soul that I have a connection with this city, through my relatives!

You are in charge of the department of stylists and make-up artists on a major federal channel. What attracted you to being a makeup artist?

While participating in some kind of music competition, I noticed the work of a makeup artist, and thought that I needed to learn this craft. After the "New Wave 2006" I stubbornly began to comprehend this profession, studied and finished my studies to the point that I liked everything wildly and it became a job. At first she was just a make-up artist, and now she is the head of the department of make-up artists and stylists on the Kultura TV channel. My current job allows me to be close to talented people from the world of theater, great music, ballet, in a word, culture! ( Laughs.)

How did you decide to become a contestant again and apply for the most popular music show in Russia?

Any competition is a good motivation, it helps to streamline some things, to become more collected, to be ready for any turn of events. I have a friend who persuaded me to take this adventure, ( show "Voice"- ed.) and even said that if I did not send the questionnaire, he would do it for me! ( smiling.) I thought that if there are people who believe in me, then I should try and sent an application!

You made friends with the famous singer Alexander Panayotov while still on the People's Artist project. Many do not know, but Alexander shot a video for you. Tell us about this work.

Once we met with Sasha in a cafe, I gave him the song “Cities are leaving”, he immediately offered to shoot something for her. We didn’t have a clear script, well-thought-out locations, operators - everything was done by Sasha and mine. We know each other very well, and that played a big role. He offered his ideas, I - mine, in the end we managed to convey the mood of the song. At the Timiryazev Academy, we found a greenhouse that was illuminated and gave a beautiful light. I thought that it was possible to get by with such accidental accidents. Sasha edited the clip in just two days, in my opinion this is a touching work that I really liked.

It was unexpected, since I always thought that as a singer Dima was not to his liking. I'm not fashionable, I don't adhere to certain musical canons, and so on. I reviewed a lot and realized that Dima has changed in a year, his work has changed.

- What are Dima's ambitions for the current season of the show?

What Lenya ( Leonid Agutin- ed.) that Dima, they understand, is already in its sixth season, hundreds of songs have been covered, there were “a million” participants. Dima is looking for works that will touch the audience. A new stage is ahead, the song that Dima chose for me, to be honest, at first did not respond internally to me. I would like to hear good criticism, because I think it is very useful.

At the qualifying round, I sang Leonid Agutin's song "Music is not enough." This song is wonderful and easy. I adore her, - says Yulia Valeeva. - But I was worried that she was not as vocal as I would like. Still, the competition is called "Voice". But then I relaxed and thought, “She suits me so well.” It's very important when a song suits you.
