Read a brief retelling of the story of poor Lisa. (Very brief retelling) "Poor Lisa

The suburbs of Moscow are described. Not far from the monastery wall there is a hut in which Liza lived with her mother thirty years ago. Her father was "a rather prosperous peasant, because he loved work, plowed the land well and always led a sober life." But he died. His widow and daughter could not cultivate the land themselves and were forced to rent it out for little money. Lisa, "not sparing her tender youth, worked day and night - weaving canvases, knitting stockings, picking flowers in the spring, and picking berries in the summer and selling them in Moscow."

« Poor Lisa". Painting by artist O. Kiprensky. 1827

Two years have passed since the death of my father. Lisa came to Moscow to sell lilies of the valley. On the street she met a young, pleasant-looking man. It was Erast - “a rather rich nobleman, with a fair mind and a kind heart, but weak and windy. He led a distracted life, thought only of his own pleasure, looked for it in secular amusements, but often did not find it: he was bored and complained about his fate. Erast offered the girl a ruble for flowers, but she took only five kopecks. Then the young man asked her not to sell flowers to anyone except him, and found out where she lives. Lisa told her mother about this meeting. The old woman approved that her daughter did not take extra money: “It is better to feed on your own labors and take nothing for nothing. You don't know yet, my friend, how evil people can offend a poor girl!"

The next day, Liza picked up lilies of the valley again and went with them to the city. Many wanted to buy flowers from her, but the girl refused to sell them. She herself was looking for Erast, but did not meet him. She threw the flowers into the Moscow River with the words: “So no one owns you!”.

The next evening Erast came to visit Lisa at her house. It seemed to him that in this girl he found exactly what his heart had been looking for for a long time and what his soul had long been striving for. They began to meet frequently. Lisa regretted that her lover was not born a simple peasant or shepherd. At first, Erast dreamed of living with Lisa always happily, like brother and sister. All the shiny fun big light seemed to him insignificant in comparison with the pleasures with which the passionate friendship of an innocent soul fed his heart. He thought with disgust of the contemptuous voluptuousness with which his senses formerly reveled. “I will live with Liza like brother and sister,” he thought, “I will not use her love for evil and I will always be happy!” But gradually platonic love gave way to other feelings. One evening, Liza told Erast that her mother wanted to marry her to the son of a wealthy peasant. “She threw herself into his arms, and in that same hour, purity was destined to perish.” Their dates continued, but now everything has changed. “Liza was no longer for Erast this angel of purity, who had previously inflamed his imagination and delighted his soul.” They didn't see each other for five days. Then Erast appeared and said that his regiment, where he serves, was leaving for the war.

It's been about two months. Once Lisa came to Moscow for rose water, which her mother used to treat her eyes. On one of the big streets she met a magnificent carriage, in which she saw Erast. Liza rushed to Erast, but his carriage drove past and turned into the yard. Erast went out and was about to go to the porch of the huge house, when he suddenly felt himself in Liza's arms. Without answering a word to her exclamations, he took her to his office and told her that he was getting married, so she needed to forget him. He put a hundred rubles in Liza's pocket and ordered the servant to escort the girl out of the yard.

It turned out that in the war Erast played cards, having spent almost all of his fortune on it, and now he was forced to marry an elderly rich widow who had long been in love with him.

Shocked, Liza walked without considering her path, and finally went outside the city, to the bank of the pond. On the road she met Anyuta, the neighbor's daughter. Lisa gave her money for her mother and asked her to tell her that she had been deceived. Cruel person with whom she was in love. After these words, Lisa rushed into the water. Anyuta rushed to call people for help, but it was too late. The girl was dragged out dead. Lisa's mother died of grief.

  1. Lisa-poor peasant girl, madly in love with Erast. This is a very kind, pure and naive nature.
  2. Erast- A young man of noble origin. Attractive, has a kind, but weak-willed disposition.

Other heroes

  1. Lisa's mom- a peasant woman, loves her daughter very much and dreams of giving her in marriage profitably.
  2. Narratorsentimental person, receptive to everything touching and beautiful, worries about the characters.

The reader's acquaintance with Liza and her mother

The whole story is told from the point of view of the narrator, who says that he has one favorite place. This is a mountain, not far from which the Simonov Monastery is located. The narrator often visits this place, not only because of the beautiful view of Moscow, but also because of his reflections on the story of poor Lisa.

Not far from the monastery there is a ruined shack in which this poor girl lived with her mother 30 years ago. When her father died, she and her mother began to live in poverty. The widow was inconsolable and, because of her grief, could no longer work. Lisa, who was still a very young girl (she was 15 years old when her father died), spared no effort, worked to feed herself and her mother. In addition to an amazingly kind and sublime heart, she was also a beautiful girl.

Lisa's acquaintance with Erast

The girl collected lilies of the valley and went to sell them in Moscow. One day, a handsome young man approached her and she asked him to buy flowers. He, fascinated by the beauty of Lisa, wanted to give a larger amount than the stranger wanted. However, she refused to take the extra money. The nobleman was not taken aback and asked her permission to become her only buyer. He asked where her house was, and Lisa explained to him.

The next day, a beautiful girl was waiting for him, but he never came. But when Lisa was engaged in yarn and thought about him, she saw that Erast was standing by her modest house and talking to her mother. When the young man left, the woman shared with her daughter her impression of her acquaintance. For the poor woman, he was exactly the one for whom she dreams of marrying Lisa. Her daughter objected to her that this was impossible, because they belonged to different classes.

Boating and declaration of love

Erast, despite the fact that he had kind heart and was smart, by nature he was windy and fickle, from life he wanted only entertainment. But the simplicity and purity of Liza conquered him so much that he had no doubt that he had met that one.

Liza, who had been sleeping in an uneasy sleep, got up before the sun had risen and went to the banks of the Moskva River. And suddenly I noticed Erast, who was sailing on a boat. Seeing his beloved, he ran to her, took her hands, kissed her and confessed his love. Lisa was happy and said that she loved him too.

After the confession, they began to see each other daily. During their meetings, which were pure and innocent, they kissed and talked about love. Erast fell in love with Lisa more and more every day, all the former secular entertainment lost all meaning for him. The young man was sure that he would never act badly towards this charming girl.

A turning point in the relationship between Lisa and Erast

During one of their meetings, the girl came in upset feelings. The son of a wealthy peasant wanted to marry Lisa, and the mother was very happy about this, because she did not even guess that her daughter was in love. Erast promised her that they would never part. After his words, Lisa, in a fit of feelings, threw herself into his arms, and they became close.

But after this meeting, their relationship changed. Those special exalted relationships that delighted the young man were replaced by feelings that were familiar to him. Lisa continued to love him more and more. Her lover began to come to her less often, and then completely disappeared for several days. When Erast came to the meeting, he told her that this was their last meeting, because his regiment was going to war. On the day of parting, young people cried.

An unexpected meeting between Lisa and Erast and the consequences of this meeting

Two months have passed since the girl's lover went to war. Lisa missed him greatly. When she was in Moscow, she suddenly notices Erast in the carriage. Waiting for him to come out, she ran up to him and hugged him. But the young man was cold and told Liza that he was engaged. Yes, he continues to love her, but the circumstances are such that he needs to get married. But Erast wishes her only happiness, so he asks to give her 100 rubles and leaves.

The young man really was at war, only he did not fight bravely, but lost all his fortune for card game. And in order to improve his financial situation, he decided to marry a rich widow who had long been in love with him.

After meeting with Erast, Lisa did not understand what to do next. Waking up, she realized that she had come to the very place on the shore where they had seen Erast. Remembering all the happy times they spent together. Seeing a neighbor girl nearby, she asked to give 100 rubles to her mother and convey her apologies. And Liza herself threw herself into the pond and drowned. The mother could not survive the loss of her daughter and died. Erast, having learned about the death of Lisa, decided that it was his fault, he did not become happy. Shortly before his death, Erast met the narrator and told him the story of poor Lisa.

Tes on the story Poor Liza

"Poor Lisa" by Karamzin is a real masterpiece of Russian literature. In the 18th century, the writer for the first time refers to the description of the life of the lower classes - the peasants. He introduces us to a sensitive, living soul, using the techniques of sentimentalism. The plot of the book helps to understand the problem of social inequality in Russia at that time. You will be able to recall the main events from the story thanks to a brief retelling prepared by the Literaguru team.

(349 words) The main action of the work takes place near the Simonov Monastery. It is there, in a small hut, that a poor peasant family lives: an old woman with her seventeen-year-old daughter Lisa. Two years ago they lost their breadwinner: a hardworking and honest man. It was hard for the widow, she fell ill with anguish. From that moment, young Lisa took over all the work. She wove canvases, knitted stockings, picked flowers, berries, and went to Moscow to sell them all. Lisa met Erast there, a wealthy nobleman. He liked the purity, sincerity of the girl, he demanded that she plucked lilies of the valley only for his day. The young man was open and affectionate, but frivolous by nature. He was tired of secular society, from Liza he wanted to get that calmness, peace, which the vain Moscow life could not give. He visited the girl every day, met her mother. The peasant woman immediately fell in love with him, in him she saw the whole meaning of her existence. Their relationship lasted for several weeks, consisting of immaculate walks and conversations in the grove. The heroine even refused the son of a wealthy peasant, disappointing her mother. Erast promised Liza a hand and a heart as soon as the old woman was gone, but this was not destined to come true.

Sincere love overshadowed the mind of the girl: she entrusted the young man with her innocence. From that day on, the attitude of the hero gradually changed. He no longer saw in her the purity he so valued. Carnal pleasures soon bored Erast. And so he said that he was leaving to serve in the army, leaving the chosen one with the hope of a speedy return.

Two months later the peasant woman saw young man accidentally in Moscow, rushed to hug her lover. But he only coldly announced his engagement. The hero gave a parting hundred rubles and ordered the servant to see the girl off. For Lisa, everything lost its meaning in that moment. She could not bear the betrayal and threw herself into the pond. Soon after learning about the death of her daughter, the mother died.

Erast squandered his entire fortune in the service, so he preferred a marriage of convenience to life in poverty. He expected that Lisa would take this calmly, but, having learned about the tragedy, he considered himself the culprit and was tormented by remorse.

Interesting? Save it on your wall!

N. Karamzin's story "Poor Liza", a summary of which we propose to read in this article, has become one of the best examples of sentimental literature. Its peculiarity is that the author borrowed the plot from European works, but fully adapted it to the peculiarities of Russian reality. And now, before the reader, pictures of the life of a simple peasant girl unfold.

Extensive exposure

A brief summary of the work "Poor Lisa" should begin with a description of the outskirts of Moscow. This is exactly what the author did, drawing the reader's attention to the contrast between the vanity big city and calmness, harmony in nature, against which the action will unfold. Karamzin paid special attention to the description of the Si…va monastery, which evokes memories of the tragic pages of Russian history.

But it's not only that. Not far from the walls of the monastery stands a ruined hut in which poor Liza lived with her mother about thirty years ago.

The hard fate of a peasant woman

After the death of his father - a wealthy peasant - the economy fell into decay. A fifteen-year-old girl with her mother, who was grieving the loss of her beloved husband, could not cultivate the land, and the mercenary did it poorly. As a result, poor Liza - a brief summary only allows us to mention this - took on any feasible job: weaving, knitting, selling forest flowers and berries, and thus earning a living. But she never complained, and kept reassuring her mother, saying that now it was her turn to take care of her. The old woman was worried about one thing: she wanted to marry Lisa to good man and then meet her husband.

So two years passed.

Acquaintance with Erast

One spring, Liza was selling lilies of the valley in Moscow. A young, well-dressed man came up and gave her a ruble for the bouquet. I was very surprised, continues Karamzin, poor Liza. The summary of their conversation is as follows: the master asked to collect flowers only for him, and the girl, taking five kopecks, gave her address. When she returned home, she told her mother everything. She praised her daughter for not taking too much. There are so many evil people around.

The next day, Lisa kept looking for a new acquaintance, but he never appeared. The girl threw unsold flowers into the river and went home upset.

Erast appeared at the hut in the evening of the next day. He met an old woman who told him about their hard life. The hero listened carefully, and then offered to sell the work only to him. Then Lisa would not need to go to the city. Erast liked the woman, and she willingly agreed. And Liza, who had been stealthily looking at the young man all evening, could not hide her joy at the fact that she could see him. However, when, after the guest left, the mother said that she didn’t want a better groom for her daughter, the girl replied: “He is a gentleman, but between the peasants ...” This is how Karamzin defines the relationship between the heroes.

"Poor Lisa": a summary of the first date

At night, the heroine slept badly, so she got up a little light and went out to the river. A new day was born. How many times had the girl admired this picture before! Today she was sad and quiet. She was overcome by only one thought: how good it would be if her new acquaintance was born a peasant.

Suddenly she heard the noise of oars and saw a boat with Erast in it. He jumped up to Lisa and looked at her with a tender look, then kissed her passionately. The whole world plunged into fire - poor Lisa experienced such a feeling. The summary of their conversation boils down to mutual confessions and oaths in eternal love. And Erast also asked not to tell his mother about anything, so as not to bother her in vain. They agreed to meet every evening and parted ways.

All morning Lisa was in an enthusiastic state. She was sure that now she would "rather forget her soul than her dear ... friend."

Secret meetings

For several weeks Erast and Lisa met either by the river, or in a grove, or by a pond. For a long time their relationship was chaste, and it seemed to the young man that it would always be so. And he, at the insistence of Liza, came to the hut and talked for a long time with the old woman. So in in general terms you can outline the relationship that arose between young people, and give them a very brief content. Poor Liza was infinitely happy and could not imagine life without her friend.

But somehow Erast saw her with eyes reddened from tears. It turned out that a rich peasant was wooing the girl and the mother wanted to marry her off. The young man assured Lisa that after the death of her mother she would live with him. And at that moment, when the girl in a fit of feelings rushed to her beloved, it was destined to "perish purity." From that moment on, their relationship changed, since Erast was no longer pleased with innocent caresses.

One day the young man did not appear for five days. When he arrived, he announced that he was being called for service. The girl almost lost her senses, and Erast comforted her and promised to love forever.

Farewell meeting and parting

The hero wanted to say goodbye to Lisa's mother, who was very upset that the affectionate, handsome gentleman was going to war. She expressed the hope of seeing him at the wedding of her daughter, whom God might soon give a good groom. Hearing these words, the girl did not dare to raise her eyes. And after Erast said goodbye to her and left, she lost her senses and for a long time could not come to her senses. From that day on, life stopped for her and she was in sorrow and sorrow.

Unexpected meeting and death

But one day Liza had to go to Moscow. Suddenly she saw a familiar face in a carriage driving into the yard. The girl rushed after him, and now the young man was in her arms. But Erast immediately took her into the office and told how he lost in the army and now must marry a rich widow in order to improve his affairs. Then he put money in her pocket and ordered the servant to send the guest out.

It is difficult to describe the state in which poor Liza was at that moment. A summary of what happened next can be conveyed in a few sentences. At first she fainted from the realization that Erast had abandoned her. Then, imperceptibly, she found herself on the shore of the pond, where she spent the best moments of her life. Seeing a neighbor's girl, she asked to give money to her mother, and with the thought that she could not continue to live, she rushed into the water. Anyuta immediately rushed for help, but it was too late. Mother, having heard the terrible news, immediately closed her eyes forever.

Lisa was buried on the shore of the pond, on her grave the narrator met Erast once. And in an empty hut the wind often blows. According to the villagers, this is “poor Liza moaning.”

Erast considered himself a murderer and was unhappy until the end of his life. It was he who told the story that was included in the story "Poor Lisa." The brief summary can be ended with the words of the author himself, who expressed the hope that the heroes met after death and, "maybe they have already reconciled."

In the vicinity of Moscow, not far from the Simonov Monastery, she once lived young girl Liza with her old mother. After the death of Lisa's father, a rather prosperous peasant, his wife and daughter became impoverished. The widow grew weaker day by day and could not work. Only Lisa, not sparing her tender youth and rare beauty, worked day and night - weaving canvases, knitting stockings, picking flowers in the spring, and selling berries in the summer in Moscow.

One spring, two years after her father's death, Liza came to Moscow with lilies of the valley. young, good dressed man met her on the street. Upon learning that she was selling flowers, he offered her a ruble instead of five kopecks, saying that "beautiful lilies of the valley plucked by the hands of a beautiful girl are worth a ruble." But Lisa refused the offered amount. He did not insist, but said that from now on he would always buy flowers from her and would like her to pick them only for him.

Arriving home, Liza told her mother everything, and the next day she picked the best lilies of the valley and again came to the city, but this time she did not meet the young man. Throwing flowers into the river, she returned home with sadness in her soul. The next evening, a stranger himself came to her house. As soon as she saw him, Liza rushed to her mother and excitedly announced who was coming to them. The old woman met the guest, and he seemed to her a very kind and pleasant person. Erast - that was the name of the young man - confirmed that he was going to buy flowers from Lisa in the future, and she did not have to go to the city: he himself could call on them.

Erast was a rather wealthy nobleman, with a fair mind and a naturally kind heart, but weak and windy. He led a distracted life, thinking only about his own pleasure, looking for it in secular amusements, and not finding it, he got bored and complained about his fate. The immaculate beauty of Liza at the first meeting shocked him: it seemed to him that in her he found exactly what he had been looking for for a long time.

This was the start of their long relationship. Every evening they saw each other either on the banks of the river, or in a birch grove, or under the shade of hundred-year-old oaks. They embraced, but their embrace was pure and innocent.

So several weeks passed. It seemed that nothing could interfere with their happiness. But one evening Lisa came to the meeting sad. It turned out that the groom, the son of a rich peasant, was wooing her, and the mother wanted her to marry him. Erast, comforting Lisa, said that after the death of his mother, he would take her to him and would live with her inseparably. But Liza reminded the young man that he could never be her husband: she is a peasant woman, and he is of a noble family. You offend me, Erast said, for your friend, your soul is most important, sensitive, innocent soul, you will always be closest to my heart. Liza threw herself into his arms - and in this hour, purity was to perish.

The delusion passed in one minute, giving way to surprise and fear. Liza cried, saying goodbye to Erast.

Their dates continued, but how everything had changed! Liza was no longer an angel of purity for Erast; platonic love gave way to feelings that he could not be "proud of" and which were not new to him. Liza noticed a change in him, and it saddened her.

Once, during a date, Erast told Lisa that he was being drafted into the army; they will have to part for a while, but he promises to love her and hopes to never part with her upon his return. It is not difficult to imagine how hard Liza felt the separation from her beloved. However, hope did not leave her, and every morning she woke up with the thought of Erast and their happiness upon his return.

So it took about two months. Once Lisa went to Moscow and on one of the big streets she saw Erast passing by in a magnificent carriage, which stopped near a huge house. Erast went out and was about to go to the porch, when he suddenly felt himself in Liza's arms. He turned pale, then, without saying a word, led her into the study and locked the door. Circumstances have changed, he announced to the girl, he is engaged.

Before Lisa could come to her senses, he led her out of the study and told the servant to escort her out of the yard.

Finding herself on the street, Liza went aimlessly, unable to believe what she heard. She left the city and wandered for a long time, until suddenly she found herself on the shore of a deep pond, under the shade of ancient oaks, which, a few weeks before, had been silent witnesses of her delights. This memory shocked Lisa, but after a few minutes she fell into deep thought. Seeing a neighbor girl walking along the road, she called her, took all the money out of her pocket and gave it to her, asking her to give it to her mother, kiss her and ask her to forgive the poor daughter. Then she threw herself into the water, and they could not save her.

Liza's mother, learning about terrible death daughter, could not stand the blow and died on the spot. Erast was unhappy until the end of his life. He did not deceive Lisa when he told her that he was going to the army, but instead of fighting the enemy, he played cards and lost all his fortune. He had to marry an elderly rich widow who had been in love with him for a long time. Upon learning of Liza's fate, he could not console himself and considered himself a murderer. Now, perhaps, they have already reconciled.
