It is symbolic that the host of the evening was the master of Russian cinema Nikita Mikhalkov. The venerable director, of course, is closer to film screenings, but this time he decided to accept the new rules of the game and delighted the audience with an excellent performance of the composition “Parting” from his film “Burnt by the Sun”.

During a conversation with the audience, Nikita Sergeevich noted that Russian cinema is gradually developing and even advised the audience to watch several, in his opinion, worthy premieres.

“Moving Up is coming out soon. This is an amazing picture about the 1972 Olympics, the sister of the famous "Legend No. 17" to you. Such films must be watched,” the director said.

In the meantime, top artists replaced each other one after another on the stage, life was in full swing behind the scenes of the competition. While the contestants modestly posed for photographers, the correspondents tried to intercept pop stars hurrying to the stage.

On the red carpet this evening was as crowded as always. Philip Kirkorov, Sergey Lazarev, Dima Bilan, Yulianna Karaulova, Alsou, Alexei Vorobyov, Lipa, Irina Dubtsova, Alexander Rosenbaum, Timur Rodriguez and other celebrities shared their impressions, recalled the New Wave in previous years and answered the most tricky questions.

Not without intrigue: Kirkorov surprised the fans by saying that he was preparing a surprise for the contestants and spectators along with his children, Martin and Alla-Victoria.

However, the contestants became the main characters that evening. This year, 14 participants from 9 countries made it to the final. On the first day of the competition, they had to surprise an authoritative jury by performing compositions from popular films.

Max Pahmp (Sweden), Suzanna Melkonyan (Armenia), Lucy Chebotina (Russia), Sardor Milano (Uzbekistan), Katya Riche (Romania), Sasha Santa (Russia), DOREDOS band (Moldova), Artem Ivanov (Ukraine) took the stage , Vasily Urievsky (Russia), Nana Khatl (Russia), Rustem Zhigunusov (Kazakhstan), Erna Mirzoyan (Armenia), Stas More (Russia) and Lilu (Vietnam).

One of the brightest performances of the first day of the competition was Sardor Milano's number. This guy was remembered by many back in 2015 as the winner of the Main Stage musical talent show. In 2016, a singer from Uzbekistan reminded of himself, becoming a finalist in the Voice program.

Sardor continues to storm Russian show business. On the "New Wave" he performed Lucio Dalla's composition "In Memory of Caruso", showing an extraordinary voice range. Many have already heard this song performed by him on the Voice show. The judges were unanimous: Milano started with a maximum of 11 points from each jury member.

In general, the second competitive day passed in an even more relaxed atmosphere. Guests, artists and contestants have already managed to get used to it a little, to join the working rhythm and feel the warm atmosphere of hospitable Sochi. Looking at what is happening behind the scenes, we can already say that during the week of the competition, all those involved in the New Wave 2017 will become one big family.

Every year, the organizers of the contest for young performers "New Wave" prepare a lot of musical surprises for the audience and the participants themselves. This year, one of them was a tribute to Philip Kirkorov, dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the artist.

The pop king himself knew about the upcoming gala evening for a long time. And he began to worry about the upcoming show even then.

“I didn’t even expect that time would fly by so quickly: 50 years in the passport, 30 years of creativity. But 50 is just a number,” the artist said.

The artist remembered everything that evening: the scandal with the "pink blouse", and his numerous transformations throughout his life (and during the concert on September 12 at the New Wave Hall there were at least a dozen dressing up), and that in the "Festivalny" hall in Sochi there were no so long ago his 200th performance took place, and relations with Alla Pugacheva as creative pinnacle, and much more. Only Irina Allegrova had to be persuaded for a long time: she did not see herself in Philip's repertoire. But she agreed to perform for Kirkorov a song about her mother, written in 1994.

During the entire concert, which lasted more than 4 hours, the songs of Philip Kirkorov were performed by Vera Brezhneva, Valery Leontiev, Grigory Leps, Irina Allegrova, Lyubov Uspenskaya and many other artists, and, according to Philip, the artists themselves chose which songs to perform. To some of them, the singer right on the stage, publicly, transferred the rights to the permanent performance of certain songs.

The next year, already in Sochi, Valery Leontiev. And last year, celebrities on the songs of Oleg Gazmanov.

Philip Kirkorov is celebrating his 50th birthday this year, so the New Wave Hall stage rightfully belongs to him. The artist has already been congratulated in the Kremlin and at many other venues in the country, but, as they say, there is never too much of a holiday. Not only his fellow artists: Svetlana Loboda, Sergey Lazarev, Laima Vaikule, Zara, Polina Gagarina, Valery Meladze, Vera Brezhneva, Ani Lorak, Grigory Leps and others, but also his the closest people are father Bedros Kirkorov and children - Martin and Alla-Victoria. There is no doubt that the life of the children of Philip Kirkorov will be connected with creativity. Alla-Victoria is a born artist: she doesn’t stand still for a minute, she doesn’t let go of the microphone and sings louder than the phonogram (at the rehearsal during each number, a “minus” sounds so that the artists do not stray from the timing and can discuss program details with show director). Martin behaves a little less confidently in public, Philip now and then has to take his hand on stage and guide him.

In between runs, Alla-Victoria and Martin frolic, run, play - they behave like ordinary children. With only one note: in front of everyone and under the incessant sounds of camera clicks. As soon as the rehearsal time for their “My Bunny” number ends, Philip in a stern voice, right into the microphone, asks to take them away from the site to rest. Igor Krutoy made a proposal to hold a tribute evening to Kirkorov on the New Wave a year ago, and since then he has been actively considering this idea - discussing their future numbers with colleagues, preparing his own speech. And to this day I remember how the video was created for her. The shooting was difficult, but Alla supported me in everything. She gave advice and, in fact, was my first producer. I really like to take part in creative evenings, because this is an opportunity to make a new reading of a hit that has long been loved by listeners. Philip sent about 10-15 songs to each artist to choose from, but after that, as he himself admitted, he did not listen to the new arrangements - he left himself the opportunity to see a surprise. It is not difficult to believe that Kirkorov really hears his songs from the lips of his colleagues for the first time today. Sometimes emotions overwhelmed him so that he literally ran out onto the stage after the performance with words of delight and gratitude.

It so happened that this summer Philippe and I met at Disneyland. He was with his children, I was with mine. We had breakfast together, dined together, spent a lot of time. The children became friends, and my eldest son Danechka looked after Alla-Victoria so touchingly, gave her so many gifts, was shy ... And then one day we started talking about a creative evening. Philip said that all the main hits had already been snapped up, and I said, without counting on anything, that I really like one of his latest songs- "Love or deceit." He wanted to perform it himself, but as a noble artist he gave it to me. I was beside myself with happiness.

Alsou got one of the numbers in the program, but the singer had to miss the rehearsal. But his monologue, dedicated to the song that Alsu chose - "You tell me cherry," Philip read from the stage.

I have always liked this song. I put it in the concert program penultimate, sang an encore, which speaks of its status. But Allah did not like her. She said: "You'll get drunk." The song contains the following words: "You tell me, cherry, why love did not come out" ... And the truth is, he croaked. Now, to be honest, I don't like this song. And I don't do it. But we have a democracy at the concert, everyone chose a composition for himself. I have no right to forbid, especially since the beautiful singer Alsou chose her.

Before the performance of Intars Busulis, Kirkorov told another story - about how his album "Shika Dam" with Russian-language covers of famous oriental hits was born.

Tarkan and I met at the World Prize Music Awards in Monaco: he received the award for the best artist of the East, and I was chosen as the best artist from Russia. I told him that I really like his song Shikidim, and he gave it to me, one might say. I returned and suggested that the most famous record company at that time, Soyuz, release an entire album with an oriental flavor. The album "Shika Dam" was recorded in two weeks and broke all records in the country.

That evening, Philip had to give up almost all of his main hits: Polina Gagarina got the song "Heaven and Earth", Vera Brezhneva - "Fire and Water", Nikolai Baskov chose the song "Diva", Valery Leontiev - the lyrical "Snow", and Timati , who not so long ago moved from the category of enemies to the category of Kirkorov's friends, took "Last Spring" for himself.
