Daughter of Gordon Ramsay. Charming rude gordon ramsay

Gordon Ramsay is considered one of the most popular TV show hosts in England. His biography is worthy of study. Ramsay is known as the very first Scot to be awarded three Michelin stars. The latter are the highest award for culinary specialists, guaranteeing the inclusion of an institution in the list of the Michelin Guide to restaurants in the world. Gordon Ramsay hosts television shows such as Hell's TV Twins, Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares and The F-Word.

Michelin stars

This story began in 1900, when André Michelin first published a guide to help wealthy people with gastronomic attachments choose the right restaurant when traveling. The cover of the magazine was red, which is why it was later called the "Red Guide". It is the most influential guide in European restaurant geography.

For a whole year, experts - real gourmets - travel incognito and evaluate all the restaurants that come across on the way. They are not interested in the service, not the interior, not the value for money and not even the atmosphere, but only the cuisine. That is why the face of each restaurant is the chef, literally everything depends on him. Experts never warn about a visit, no one knows them either in person or from the back. The restaurant learns about their arrival after the fact. Return visits are possible. Particular attention is given to those institutions that have already received stars, because they can easily be taken away.

Ratings

The restaurant is rated in the guidebook: one star means that the institution must be visited when you are nearby. Two stars are worth changing the travel itinerary and, even if it takes a long detour, to join the almost perfect cuisine. This guide has no right to make a mistake, because it has an impeccable reputation. It also mentions those restaurants that have not received distinctions, but are worth visiting.

But three stars are given to an institution for which rich people plan a trip to the country specifically. This means that the wine, the cuisine, the service, the furnishings and even the bill will be world-class, exceptional. They don’t go to three-star hotels just like that, you can get there only by appointment, which is made in advance - a month or even two in advance. So, Gordon Ramsay's restaurants got three. How did he get there?

The beginning of the way

The Scottish town of Johnston became the place where new star gastronomy - Gordon Ramsay. His biography began with his father's endless unsuccessful commercial ventures, so the moves were constant, and only in 1976 did the family manage to settle down in Stratford-upon-Avon. Gordon was also unlucky with the field chosen in childhood - football, although everything started more than well. The young Gordon Ramsay, whose biography as an athlete began at the Warwickshire football club and continued at the age of eighteen with an invitation to the Ranger club, injured his knee so badly that his sports career was over. It was a shame, but I had to somehow live on, even without football.

College studying hotels and restaurants, Gordon Ramsay carried away, although it was chosen spontaneously: you have to study somewhere if the sport is closed. young man for a long time I hoped it wasn't permanent, but a damaged meniscus is usually beyond repair and repair. Despite his sporting hopes, cooking captured him more and more. And, after graduating from college, Gordon Ramsay gets his first job in London. The restaurant where the future ace of gastronomy began his career is quite prestigious, that is, he was finally lucky. This place was run by Marco Pierre White and was called Harvey's.

french cuisine

At Harvey, Gordon Ramsay worked for about three years, then decided to study high cuisine and got a job in the only three-star restaurant in England - Le Gavroche, at that time deprived of one star. There, his knowledge of French cuisine was improved by studying with the famous hereditary chef Albert Roux.

Gordon Ramsay, whose biography as a high master was just beginning, liked the teacher so much that a year later, leaving Le Gavroche, he invited the student to the French Alps to work in the fashionable restaurant Hotel Diva.

Then, already in Paris, he was lucky enough to be present in the same kitchen with real culinary celebrities - Guy Savoie and Joel Robuchon. Three years flew by like an arrow, and then Gordon Ramsay completed his studies. His biography as a culinary luminary was just beginning. He was invited to a private yacht for the first time as a chef.

chief

After spending a year sailing in Bermuda, Ramsay returned to London to take over as head of Aunt Claire's (La Tante Claire) in Chelsea. However, Albert Roux did not leave the ward alone, he invited Ramsay to Aubergine, when this "Eggplant" still bore the name Rossmore. Roux was well versed in people: his former student managed to raise the rating of the restaurant so much in four years that he was awarded two Michelin stars. Ramsay bought a quarter of all the shares of this institution, but was forced to leave the restaurant due to a conflict with the rest of their holders. All kitchen workers and all service personnel left with Ramsay. An unprecedented case.

It was a difficult decision, but it was then that a new entrepreneur appeared - Gordon Ramsay. Biography (and his family was only happy about this turn of events) was getting closer and closer to the history of an enterprising person. A million-pound lawsuit was launched against the fugitive, because such a mass exodus of employees was murderous for the restaurant. It closed for three months, as the staff was completely absent. Subsequently, all this litigation was hushed up, the parties parted amicably, and the details were not disclosed.

Master

During the three years of the existence of his own restaurant, opened in 1998, Ramsay receives three Michelin stars. He was the only British three-star chef at that time, and as a Scot, the only one at all. A little later, he opened a second restaurant - Petrus, whose fame, although it turned out to be somewhat scandalous (forty-four thousand pounds for dinner wine!), However, he got a Michelin star almost immediately - less than a year had passed, and a few years later there were two.

Next, you can see rapid growth Empire Ramsay. Now he manages ten restaurants in England alone, six of which are Michelin-starred, three pubs and twelve restaurants outside the UK. Gordon Ramsay Holdings Limited is worth approximately one hundred and sixty-three million dollars, nearly seventy percent owned by Ramsay himself.

Writer

Without leaving the stove, the chef-ace began to outline his actions. In 1996, his first book, Passion for Taste, was already published, which, unfortunately, has not yet been officially translated into Russian. He liked writing books. By 2007, fourteen of them had already been published, among them two autobiographical ones - "Resentment" and "Hands Up". The latter instantly became bestsellers far beyond the borders of England. And in 2006, Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain herself awarded Ramsay

TV star

Ramsay began acting on television in 1998. It was a series of television essays about restaurant life. The debut, "Boiling Point", was a success, so the sequel came out - "After the Boiling Point". But for real world fame and the crowds of fans who had nothing to do with professional cooking brought him television shows. In "Hell's Kitchen" and "Nightmares in the Kitchen" there were no documentaries, they turned out to be really real show programs, bright and lively.

"Kitchen Nightmares"

This show started on Channel 4 on British TV in 2004. The action is as follows: at the beginning of "Nightmares" Ramsay comes to one of the restaurants, which is in financial ruin and therefore is on the verge of closing. Within a week, he finds and tries to solve all the problems of this institution. He acts strictly alone, except that sometimes designers help to change the restaurant interior. The show has already aired five seasons.

American producers liked Ramsay's work, and appeared a new version television show, where the action takes place mainly in the state of New Jersey. There, Ramsay after a while checked how things were going in the restaurants "corrected" by him. In addition, the Americans traditionally added pepper to the plot, where heartbreaking conflicts formed at times, but with exacerbations, they now began to happen all the time. The American version is more generously financed, the interiors of the restaurants participating in the show are changed beyond recognition.

The F Word

This show is British. Ramsay has been highly rated as a wit since 2005. Here, too, we are talking about food, but there is no concentration on the standards of haute cuisine. Rather, it's the other way around. Ramsay is trying to prove to the viewer that healthy and tasty food is prepared without much investment - financial, time and physical. This series has now gone through five seasons. We have popular Gordon Ramsay recipes in Russian printed, they are all mainly from this show. True, the translations were made by the needlewomen themselves, so they do not have much faith. Often there are, for example, recipes with clarifications: "Meatballs with pasta: three tablespoons of small bread crumbs, a little milk (?), Four hundred grams of minced beef (I have pork), a little basil (I have dill) ..."

Surely, many people in our country are looking forward to the book of recipes in the original. And not only everyday, but also truly high, festive. People in Russia are also interested in the biography of Gordon Ramsay, his personal life and, of course, all the culinary achievements.

"Hell's Kitchen" and "America's Best Chef"

"Hell's Kitchen" - American reality show, where Gordon Ramsay has brought to light for fourteen seasons. This is one of the most popular programs due to the intensity of passions and dramatization of the plot. Participants compete for a chef's position in one of the famous restaurants.

The culinary orientation of the reality show is also the brainchild of the Fox channel, it has been released not so long ago, since 2011, but it is very popular in the world. Here, amateur chefs compete not only for the title of chef, but also for a cash prize and the publication of their own book of culinary recipes.

Personal life

Gordon Ramsay, at the very beginning of his career, was forced to leave the restaurant due to an affair with the owner's wife, but that doesn't count. He got married in 1996 and is still happy. His wife was a school teacher, and her father runs the family's entire restaurant empire. Gordon's fiancee is called Cayetana Elizabeth. She gave birth to four little Ramsays: Megan in 1998, Jack and Holly in 2000, and Matilda in 2002. Children from an early age are actively involved in the TV show, that is, with their help, what Gordon Ramsay started is continuing - the biography and his family. The photo below demonstrates this in the best possible way.

The best friend is known only to one - the chef from Ramsay's restaurant, Marcus Waring, who is at the head of "Petrus". He had a very similar career path, and while Ramsay and Waring found each other, the latter managed to work with the same bosses. And for sure, a similar biography, according to Gordon Ramsay, played a big role in this friendship.

  • In total, Gordon has earned sixteen Michelin stars. Only very few French chefs can boast of this achievement.
  • Gordon has a very cool character - he is straightforward and quick-tempered, but there is no staff turnover in his holding.
  • Ramsay does not accept vegetarianism as a concept.
  • The famous chef fed V.V. Putin a business lunch during his first official visit to the UK.
  • Ramsay fell off a cliff during filming, but after flying from a great height and falling into icy water, he managed to swim out himself.

Gordon Ramsay

50-year-old famous British chef Gordon Ramsay gave a long interview to the Telegraph, where he spoke about raising four children - 15-year-old Matilda, 17-year-old Jack and Holly and 18-year-old Megan. The chef is known for his expressiveness and strictness, and he brings up his children in the same style.

I never think about money. Money is not my main goal and this is reflected in the way my children are raised,

Ramsay said during a break from filming his new daytime TV show.

Usually children star parents also lead a luxurious lifestyle and can afford all the best, but not the children of Ramsay.

Children don't sit with us in first class on airplanes. They haven't earned enough to afford it yet. We are very strict about this!

Ramsay himself was brought up harshly: he grew up in a poor area of Glasgow with an aggressive father, an alcoholic and a womanizer. No wonder Gordon ran away from home at 16. He has now been happily married for over 20 years to a former teacher named Tana, who is 42 years old. They say the celebrity chef earns as much as Beyoncé.

According to Forbes, Ramsay made $54 million last year! It would seem that Gordon, whose fortune is estimated at 113 million pounds, can leave a good legacy for the children, but the man is not going to do this - he believes that they will have to build their own lives:

My money will definitely not go to my children. And it's not so bad. This is all in order not to spoil them.

Ramsay's children earn their own living and even help charities. Eldest daughter, Megan, lives on a budget of £100 (about seven thousand rubles) a week, while the rest of the children receive £50. With this money they pay for cellular communications and bus tickets.

Last year, Gordon and his wife were expecting their fifth child, their second son, but Tana suffered a miscarriage in her fifth month of pregnancy. Then the couple was supported by celebrity friends - Jamie and Juliette Oliver, as well as the Beckham family.

Residents of Russia and the post-Soviet countries got acquainted with the cult figure of the world culinary, successful restaurateur and talented chef Gordon James Ramsay after the release of author's television shows.

The projects of the extravagant Scot have gone beyond the show: the releases of Hell's Kitchen or Knives Out look like exciting films that combine the genres of detective, action, horror and comedy. But in addition to acting talents, Gordon Ramsay has others: his restaurant chain has been awarded 16 Michelin stars, and the chef himself has received the epithets “brilliant” and “incomparable”.

The childhood of the future famous culinary specialist cannot be called happy: his father had an addiction to alcohol. In a state of intoxication, the head of the family beat his wife in front of four children. The family only dreamed of luxury: because of alcoholic libations, the father's business was in a deplorable state, so Ramsay wandered around the country in search of a place in the sun. Having received the first experience, the young chef changed the restaurant and mentor: in the first British three-star Le Gavroche, Gordon James learned the basics of classical French cuisine under the guidance of master Albert Roux.

A year later, the French culinary specialist left Le Gavroche and invited a capable student to a new restaurant built in the French Alps. Gordon Ramsay followed the master. Soon, irrepressible energy called the Scot on the road: the young chef arrived in Paris, where he studied for 3 years with the French masters of culinary art Guy Sivois and Joel Robuchon.
