For example, you meet bandits who took tribute from the poor, kill and think that you have become a real hero! But in fact, they were the defenders of the city, who protected their lands from the influx of refugees.

Dragon Age is a deep RPG with an intriguing, serious story. An invaluable find for ardent fans of the "realistic fantasy" genre. Violent scenes of violence, a fantasy ghetto, massacres every five minutes deservedly earned a +18 rating. And many users will be pleased that the game works on pc ps3 ps4, Xbox 360 and Mac OS X platforms.

Alan Wake has always been an excellent student among games - a mystical thriller from 3rd person with a good storyline and an open world. The writer runs to the voice and sees how his beloved falls into the depths of a mysterious lake and without hesitation dives after her. The hero woke up in the forest, driving a car and with a lacerated wound on his face. After a while, Wake learns that more than a week has passed since his jump into the lake, about which he remembers absolutely nothing. Now the hero takes only one question what the hell is going on in Bright Falls.

Alan Wake is a third-person stealth adventure that keeps you in suspense and evokes empathy for the protagonist. The hero's wild imaginative play is captivating, and the plot itself is essentially a potpourri based on the stories of Stephen King and the television series Twin Peaks.

Fahrenheit

Movie fans should pay attention to the role-playing action third-person shooter - Fahrenheit, released in 2005. The French noir thriller Fahrenheit was a pioneer in the game genre of "interactive cinema". It was thanks to him that at one time we received such masterpieces as Heavy Rain and Beyond: Two Souls.

Lucas Kane is the protagonist of the game, who is suspected of murder. The plot focuses on how Lucas denies his guilt in every way possible. Conventionally, the game can be divided into two plots: in one part, we observe the experiences of Lucas, and in the second, his attempts to prove his innocence in the face of the law. The passage of Fahrenheit takes a couple of days, but there is very little gameplay. Often it is enough to choose cues and enjoy the best story of the past decade from Quantic Dream.

For lovers of good graphics, in 2015 a re-release of Fahrenheit: Indigo Prophecy Remastered was released for PC, Xbox, PS, Android, iOS. It differs from the original version only in an improved picture and support for HD mode.

Fallout 4

Developers from Bethesda manage to create exciting game universes that enthrall gamers for more than a dozen hours. In their projects, you can spend hours just studying a map or reading local books. Fallout is one of the popular franchises in the ranking of the favorite franchises of many gamers.

The protagonist of the series is a nameless daredevil who is trying to survive in a cruel post-apocalyptic world. Get ready to plunge into the rich atmosphere of the destroyed world and fight against fantastic mutants. Mafia III

After the release of the first Mafia, subsequent parts of the series were rightfully considered the best games in the noir genre. The players expected the release of each story with special trepidation and hope. And for good reason! After all, the series takes gamers to the United States, when gangster groups actively appeared one after another. Actually the plot is built on the confrontation between gangster groups for territory.

Adventure Mafia 3 with an open world on pc continues the story from the perspective of Lincoln Clay. The action takes place in the sixties. From all the successors sound familiar works of The Animals and The Rolling Stones. The main reason for the mass shootings on the streets of New Bordeaux is racism. In general, the developers did a great job with the atmosphere. And then - and shootouts against the backdrop of mafia intrigues and conspiracies to an amazing soundtrack. I decided to write my first entry in this column about my favorite story-oriented computer games. Although not only the plot was evaluated, but also its presentation, atmosphere, and even, a little, the gameplay. Since there are a lot of good stories, I have described only the most memorable projects and only those released for personal computers.

10 Whispered World

The only representative of the genre in this list. In truth, I'm not a fan of classic quests. I find the gameplay of such only interferes with the narrative, sometimes absurd, puzzles. I prefer interactive series that are gaining popularity: products from, although the latter is closer to the classics.

So why is this project in the review? It's simple - the story told here touches to the core, but you need to go through it to the end in order to catch it. This is a story about a sad clown who is trying to save magical land from completely disappearing, but the scenario is not as simple as it wants to look at first glance.

9. Mafia: The City of Lost Heaven

Mafia- Third person action. The gameplay is terribly annoying, especially this car driving. Several important tasks had to go through many long hours, gritting his teeth, so as not to break the keyboard. I think everyone who played remembers the race. I had to learn every turn and bend of the track in order to win the competition. By the way, now you can choose the difficulty of the mission.

All this torment is fully paid off by an excellent script, in the spirit of " Godfather"- a simple taxi driver starts working for the mafia and subsequently becomes a member of the mafia family. Made in the style of the protagonist's story about his life. 2K already twice tried to repeat this success, but only can be called a worthy continuation.

portal is a first-person puzzle game. The idea created by the students was embodied in this test product. It wasn't a full game because it was very short. The audience reacted favorably to this creation and valve took her seriously. - came out as a big project, the last one on this moment, the studio's masterpiece. The number of substances we can interact with has been increased. Added an interesting story and a separate one for the co-op mode.

Atmosphere, plot, humor - all this harmoniously developed in this project. Puzzles attracted with their novelty and low threshold of entry. What we have is a weapon that can open two portals connected to each other and the ability to carry small objects and that's it! The tasks that throws us portal, are performed by these three actions, physics and devices capable of influencing its laws. Can you elaborate more, but why? If you haven't played yet, then I don't understand, what are you waiting for?

7Deus Ex Human Revolution

Human Revolution- RPG and stealth action. We have a choice between stealth and regular gunfights. It recreates the atmospheric world of cyberpunk, where the artificial improvement of the body has become a daily routine.

The plot revolves around Adam Jensen, head of security at Sharif Industries, a large cybernetic implant company. During an attack by an unknown group on a corporation, Adam is seriously injured, and not an indifferent person is kidnapped. Thus, Jensen acquires a partially robotic body and becomes embroiled in a story full of conspiracies, intrigues and secrets.

A magnificent, intelligent script, atmosphere and non-linear gameplay with a developed system of dialogues provide this project with a place of honor in the review. A sequel came out not too long ago. Minkind Divided, which, in some places, is even better than its predecessor, but the piece of history that we are offered for a full-fledged scenario spoils the whole impression.

6. Dishonored

The second stealth action game on our list. To be honest, I don't like this genre. As in the previous project, we are given a choice of style, but it affects the ending. This is one of the few stealth games that I really enjoyed sneaking through. Not only because it got a good ending, but more because of the dialogue that could be overheard. Stealth killing of bosses is another one of the great features Dishonored. It is done simply gorgeous, you neutralize each individual in different ways and with a share of non-linearity.

The place where the events take place is beautiful in its own way and very atmospheric. Superbly drawn faces, caricatured and talking. The style is unique. The gameplay is varied, given that we can not only carry melee and firearms, but also use a kind of magic that we pump as we progress. There are many DLCs, and even a full-fledged one, is being prepared for release in this universe.

When I met half-life I was still small enough to appreciate the plot. I was more interested in the network component. Yes, and later he did not hook me, but I really liked the second part of this first-person shooter. At that time the engine Source was a real breakthrough in graphics and physics. The developers took advantage of this to the fullest. The possibilities of interaction with the environment are simply enormous. In addition to the usual massacre of the enemy, we can throw something heavy or sharp at them, break a support under them, and so on.

The animation is also top notch. Now you can’t say it, but then it was a pleasure to look at Alix’s face. The atmosphere of the alien-infested world and the script are excellent. In addition to skirmishes, we will have to solve physical problems, drive various vehicles. The first and second episode did not disappoint either, and I am still waiting for the third or third part, like many other fans of this masterpiece.

great space RPG. The story stretched over three games, in which we have to explore the planets, complete dangerous tasks and uncover the secrets of the universe. You will learn that the world is in danger, try to try on the warring races, gather an army and save everyone. Each member of your crew is a separate person with their own biography, character, desires and ambitions. Every decision you make affects the attitude of your comrades-in-arms towards you and even their lives.

Everything you need for a good role play- big world, lots of side quests and dialogues, exploration of populated and desert planets. The fights are third-person shootouts using futuristic weapons and biotic abilities such as telekinesis. Cinematic productions of truly Hollywood proportions.

A lot of time has passed between the first and third parts - bioware was no longer the same as before. The dialogue system became flatter, the state of affairs in the universe was influenced by points in the network component. The final was not what was expected. Overall though, the trilogy is excellent.

In fact, the previous series became the last projects of the studio bioware noteworthy. Fantasy RPG has a number of excellent qualities. An interesting, long, epic and in some places, unpredictable and non-linear plot that will require us to gather all possible forces to save the earth from an impending threat. But first you have to help future allies, and in each case something unique awaits us.

When creating the main character, we will be given a choice of race and even several options for origin, which will affect the introductory chapter and later on the attitude of others towards us sentient beings. Dialogues, characters of associates, their biography and motives are worked out even more than in the previous project. For example, in a conversation we are offered a whole range of answers, only knowing the interlocutor can determine his reaction to a particular phrase. No stupid wheels where you can clearly see, we say good, bad or something else.

The combat system is a tactical battle with an active pause, during which we issue orders, squeeze and look at the result, and the higher the difficulty, the more often we will need to use it. A large number of abilities gives free rein to the imagination.

This game already has three parts, but none of the next ones came close to this one, both in terms of the plot component and in some aspects of the gameplay.

Original bioshock about the underwater city had a good script and atmosphere, but still inferior Infinite and while the gameplay hasn't evolved much over the years, it can be forgiven for its deep and amazing storyline.

A beautiful and at first glance unpretentious story immerses us in a charming floating city, but the further we move along it, the more questions will arise. As a result, in order to understand what is happening to the end, you need to fully explore the environment and possibly go Infinite more than once (or just look on the Internet). When the picture in your mind takes shape, you will be shocked by its depth.

1. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt / Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

INTRODUCTION

Witcher was just a good game. The gameplay did not impress with its variety, but the story was interesting, although it partially repeated the events of the book of the same name by Andrzej Sapkowski. The second game was more original and it had its own and rather non-trivial plot, and its graphics were not inferior to other projects, and now the culmination of this work was The Witcher 3. The Poles jumped above their heads and not only their own.

WORLD AND STORY

Stunning open world with a non-linear story - a hot cocktail. Moreover, the plot itself is great. It begins with the fact that Geralt, the main character of the story, goes on the trail of his adopted daughter“Ciri, a girl of imperial blood with unusual abilities. Its exact location is unknown, but you will have to look for it in three provinces - in Velen, Novigrad and Skellige. All this in a military conflict with the empire in the south and the kingdoms of the north.

Velen is a swampy plain through which a war has just passed. It has its own atmosphere with ghosts and witches, longtime mistresses of these lands. Small settlements with superstitious people. Novigrad is contrastingly different - Big City, which both warring parties dream of taking possession of, under the rule of crime bosses. Skellige - islands inhabited by "highlanders" with their own customs and customs, druids protecting nature and a just-dead ruler. We are also waiting for the struggle for power over the islands.

The story is striking in its scale and off-scale epic. By staging some scenes Witcher can surpass the trilogy and combined. In addition, our actions affect the environment, and it changes under this influence. Side missions, sometimes, are not inferior in depth to the main story, they are also non-linear and even, sometimes, change the balance of power. The gameplay is rich in its possibilities both in terms of the combat system and in the exploration of the world. You can talk endlessly about the beauty and positive aspects of the game.

Add-ons and other information

Later to Witcher two more add-ons came out, modestly named by the developers - DLC. "Hearts of Stone" - had an excellent script, second only to the main duration. And "Blood and Wine" - added not only a whole continent with its own contingent of people, whose characters, customs and customs, were just as different from the population of other parts of the world, as Velen was different from Skellige, but also new monsters, new gaming opportunities. A huge number of additional tasks, still not inferior in quality to the main ones, and one more interesting story, like the previous two. Yes, what can I say - other developers, without a twinge of conscience, would call this addition a full-fledged fourth part.

By the way, good news for fans - a movie adaptation of the book universe "" is being prepared. It will be attended by Netflix, the director of game videos from the game, Andrzej Sapkowski himself and many other eminent people and companies. I hope they come up with something worthwhile.
