With whom did the Kostomarov romance dance? Biography

The figure skater, who together with Tatyana Navka won the Turin Olympic gold in ice dancing, was born on February 8, 1977 in Moscow. Mom worked as a cook, father worked as an electrician. As a child, Roman followed gymnastics competitions, but when my mother tried to send her 9-year-old son to the section, it turned out that doing it with an eye on professional career it's too late for him. A friend of the family, who worked as a doctor at the AZLK stadium, helped Roman get into figure skating. Soon he began to perform in the crowd of the Theater on Ice, go on tour around the country and dream of traveling abroad.

Two years later, coach Lidia Karavaeva took Roman away from the ice theater and paired her with her daughter Ekaterina Davydova. The novel took the change of fate ambiguously. He already hid from his friends that he was engaged in a “girlish” sport, saying that he went to the rink to play hockey. Knowing that he was actually dancing on ice with a girl, the yard company would tease him.

The first big competitions forced Roman to stop being ashamed of figure skating. He recalled that there was excitement, a desire to win. With Davydova, he won the World Junior Championship in 1996, then they parted ways. left for the USA - to coach Natalya Linichuk, who connected him on ice with Tatiana Navka. A year later, having decided that they had no prospects, the coach invited Roman to skate with Anna Semenovich. Since, under the terms of the contract, Linichuk did not have the right to break up a couple, she insisted that Kostomarov initiate the change of partner.

Later, Semenovich said that Roman Kostomarov turned out to be a difficult partner - tough, intolerant, prone to violating the sports regime. He believes that the couple did not work out due to the fact that Anna's emotionality prevented her from focusing on technology. In 2000, Roman decided to leave Linichuk and return to training with Navka under the guidance of her husband Alexander Zhulin.

Having lost the patronage of a star coach, Roman was left without housing and without money. He received $ 150 a month, slept with friends on air mattresses and ate fast food. The test strip ended three years later, when Navka and Kostomarov became the number one dance couple, first in Russia, then in the world. For the next three years, they did not lose anything to anyone. Their final chord sports career was the victory at the 2006 Olympics in Turin.

He has repeatedly spoken out against love relationship with partners. He said that he could not imagine a situation in which a couple drags conflicts and failures home from the ice. In 2004, he married single skater Yulia Lautova, who competed for Austria. The couple lived together for only a year, but for bureaucratic reasons they divorced much later. Roman claimed that Julia, who ended her career early, was jealous of his sport and complained about the lack of attention. New chosen one was the figure skater Oksana Domnina, who, ironically, was a witness at his wedding with Yulia. Roman and Oksana got married on April 25, 2014 after seven years civil marriage, they have two children - daughter Nastya and son Ilya. It is interesting that Nastya's parents gave her to play tennis, and not figure skating.

After parting with big sport, Roman Kostomarov starred in the series "Hot Ice", the films "A Close Enemy" and "On Treason". However, to master the acting profession in adulthood considered inappropriate. He is a permanent participant in the TV show of the “stars on ice” format, two-time winner « ice age". Performs in performances of the ice theater of Ilya Averbukh.

Born in Moscow on February 8, 1977. He started skating at the age of 9, because he really wanted to go in for sports, but he was late for gymnastics due to his age, and for some reason they were not accepted into the swimming section.

The Kostomarov family lived in Tekstilshchiki - Roman with his younger brother and parents: mom is a cook, dad is an electrician. Ordinary, ordinary family. An acquaintance of Romina's mother worked as a doctor at the AZLK Ice Palace. It was she who helped to attach him to the Theater on Ice. He didn’t really know how to ride, but he began to practice with enthusiasm and soon he was already performing at New Year trees - he played Snegovichkov and Morozikov.

Two years later, Roma accidentally saw Lidia Vasilievna Karavaeva at the rink, who became his first coach. She had a daughter - Katya Davydova, who was engaged in figure skating. Roman was offered to become a couple with her, he did not mind. Karavaeva took care of the couple, drove everywhere, escorted Roma to the metro after evening classes, and took lunch to her house in between workouts.

For a long time Roman was very sorry that he did not become a single skater. After all, dancing is a real Santa Barbara: intrigues, passions, scandals, all kinds of intricacies. The most difficult thing is the relationship between partner, partner and coach. Judge for yourself: for 10 years Roma skated with Katya Davydova, already felt her well, understood without words, in 1996 they won the junior world championship, that is, they achieved good results. And suddenly, at the end of the season, the new coach Natalya Vladimirovna Linichuk calls Kostomarov and offers to create a pair with another figure skater - Tanya Navka, fly with her to America and train there.

Roman was dumbfounded, confused. But Natalya Vladimirovna continued to convince, assured that a great future awaited him and Tanya. And although it all sounded tempting, the future champion did not agree for a long time.

Roma was 21 years old, and he could not decide on such a serious step as leaving Russia - into the unknown, without money. It seemed insane! In addition, Tanya seemed to him an adult, although she is only two years older. But at that time Navka was a plump girl, and Roma felt like a junior boy next to her.

As a result, the skater was nevertheless persuaded, and in 1998 he ended up in the States, in Delaware. For a year she and Tanya skated, and suddenly, like a bolt from the blue, Natalya Vladimirovna for some reason decided to "break" them. She unexpectedly approached Roman after another training session and said: “Roma, you and Navka are a good couple. But Anya Semenovich will be the best for you. You will really achieve gold with her!” She also broke a couple of Ilya Averbukh and Marina Anisina at one time. Well, how could Roma not listen to such an authoritative person? After all, Linichuk is actually a great coach - she worked with many couples, she had great experience, her own vision of who should skate with whom. Of course, he could not but listen to her opinion. Roma had to tell his partner: "We do not match the characters. I do not want and will not skate with you anymore, I decided so!" What to do - said. Like a zombie, he did not really explain anything, he simply repeated: "We are not suitable for each other, I want to ride with Semenovich." Of course, for Tanya it was a shock, because everything happened so unexpectedly. And Natalya Vladimirovna pretended that she herself did not expect such a turn in any way - she played beautifully. As a result, Tanya, having skated alone for a week, realized that there was no point in going on the ice anymore.

Very soon, Zhulin and Navka moved to New York, and Roman waited for Anya Semenovich, who arrived from Russia two weeks later, and began to ride with her. Linichuk provided free ice for the Russians, where she trained not only her couples, but also the Americans - for money. At that time, overseas, the Russian school of figure skating was highly valued, and they tried to lure our specialists over to them. For Russian skaters, they rented a small five-room villa in Delaware, it was called the "Russian House". Roman Kostomarov lived there, Ilya Averbukh with Ira Lobacheva, Oleg Ovsyannikov with Anzhelika Krylova... They paid Roman $150 a month.

Naturally, the skater did not have the opportunity to earn extra money - all the forces were taken away by daily many hours of training, there was only one day off - Saturday. So often I had to get by at McDonald's. I also went to eat in the university canteen - the athletes were given a special card. Oleg and Angela helped him great - they took him to the skating rink. By their car, they got there in five minutes, and Roma walked for half an hour.

Ilya Averbukh and Ira Lobacheva were prepared for Olympic champions, and Kostomarov was just a trifle, so no one really thought about him. By the way, Semenovich did not live in this "Russian House" with the skaters. All of Ani's expenses were paid for by her then-boyfriend. He was a wealthy man and periodically visited her in America.

At first, everything went well with Roma and Anya. She is a bright personality, temperamental, but after a while Roman felt that his partner on the ice was dominated by emotions. He began to get the impression that as a figure skater she did not want to develop at all. Between them, more and more disputes began to flare up, turning into scandals. Subsequently, the press even claimed that it came to assault, but this is all complete nonsense. Can you imagine what would happen if Roman hit his partner in America?!

They also wrote a lot about Romin's problems with alcohol. Especially after he fell during the Grand Prix in St. Petersburg. Then there were publications with headlines: "Drunken Kostomarov rolled on the ice." Roman and Anya won prizes at those competitions, took third place and participated in demonstration performances. Foolishly the day before at the party, Roman did not calculate his strength, so he could not coordinate on the ice and, as a result, he really fell. On this fall, the demonstration number with Semenovich ended, but this was an isolated case.

In one of the interviews, Anya Semenovich said that in training with Kostomarov there was a terrible op! But Roman believed that it was difficult to achieve good results in sports without sorting things out. And figure skating is very painstaking, hard work. Skirmishes arise constantly: "I'm right" - "No, I'm right!" Everyone has their own opinion. Everything is like in a family.

Roma and Tanya Navka often clashed: they spoke bluntly about what they think about each other, and Roma was kicked out of training ... But these are all working moments. It is unlikely that anyone could do without it. And although Tanya is also a person with character, she always knew how to pull herself together, and in relations with her won common sense. As a result, Roma and Tanya found a common language.

This did not happen with Semenovich, they became the silver medalists of the Russian Championship, but at the World Championship they were only in 13th place. At the European championship - 10th. A year later, Roman finally realized that they were absolutely not suitable for each other and perfect option- this is still a couple with Tanya Navka.

One day he decided to find Tanya. He knew that by that time she had already had a child - their daughter and Zhulin were one and a half months old. But he didn't know their New York coordinates. I called Tanya's mother in Ukraine and asked for my daughter's phone number. I contacted Tanya and frankly told the whole truth, honestly explained why he actually stopped skating with her. Navka could not believe her ears, she could not even imagine that everything happened on the initiative of Linichuk. "She was crying on my chest!" - only Tanya repeated.

Roma suggested that she try to work together again, she promised to think about it. Literally three days later, Navka agreed. It was clear that they would not be able to train with Linichuk, and then Zhulin took them on.

Roma moved to New York, New Jersey.

Of course, Semenovich was offended by him. It's an ugly situation. For a long time he did not say anything to her at all, and then he called, saying only: "Anna, I'm sorry."

Conditions in New Jersey were even worse than in Delaware. Roman brought with him two bags of things and not a penny of money - his parents lived in Moscow on one salary, and he did not want to ask for help from them, after all, he was already 23 years old. And there were no savings.

The first month I was turning over with Tanya and Sasha. Since Zhulin was coaching the Americans by that time, he earned decent fees. They had a comfortable good house. Zhulin achieved everything himself, but Roma could not be their constant freeloader, for him this was completely unacceptable. In addition, training took away so many nerves that I didn’t want to see each other besides ice at all. And he moved out. He was sheltered by Ari Zakarian - Zhenya Plushenko's agent.

For a month he spent the night in his attic - without air conditioning, on an air mattress. Then Roma settled in with her Olympic champion in single skating, Oksana Baiul is a person who always helps everyone.

She herself suggested: "Rum, stop huddling in the attic. Come to me, sit on the sofa, you will sleep like a human." And Kostomarov began to live in her very beautiful two-room apartment in New Jersey - Oksana gave him one room.

This went on for a year and a half. I moved to New York, New Jersey.

Oksana lived her own life: some kind of shooting, constant participation in ice shows. Roman had training sessions from morning to evening. When Baiul had a boyfriend, it was no longer possible for Roman to stay further in Oksana's house, and he moved out of her. I settled down with one familiar figure skater. He is also Russian, but skated for Japan with a Japanese girl. For three years they slept with him on the floor, on mattresses. They didn't even have a TV.

PERSONAL LIFE

The love story of Roman Kostomarov and Yulia Lautova began a month before the roman's departure to America. He was 21 years old, Yulia had just turned 17 years old. They met at the rink, in the sports complex "Olympic". She was a loner, a student of Elena Anatolyevna Tchaikovsky. A great, bright, bright feeling flared up between them. And it kept for a long time. True, for four years they communicated mainly only by phone. Roma constantly called her from America. And although a lot of money was spent on negotiations, he could not help but call. Somehow he was interrupted - he borrowed, then he gave. It was very difficult for Yulia to endure separation, he was also terribly worried.

They met mainly in competitions in various countries, and in those rare months when Roma came on vacation to Russia. If Yulia flew to some championship in America through New York, he rushed to the airport between training sessions just to see her for at least half an hour.

Finally they decided to get married. The wedding was played in Moscow in June 2004. They invited a lot of people, about 80 people. And Zhenya Plushenko, and Navka with Zhulin ... They were sure that their relationship had been tested for strength, and did not doubt their feelings.

Julia, having not achieved serious success in figure skating, quit sports and came to live with Roman in America. By that time he had already won the World Championship in Dortmund and could afford to rent his own apartment.

Problems started after a year life together. Julia was not satisfied with the fact that he paid little attention to her. Roma then focused on one single goal: he was going to the Olympic “gold”, and he had no time for anything. But with his wife, because of this, disputes began to arise more and more often, endless showdowns began. And the most unpleasant thing was that they did not find a compromise. This irritated Roma the most. There was enough hassle on the ice, and scandals at home simply finished him off.

In 2006, Roman returned to Russia with pleasure, but did not finally cut off the ends with America - he nevertheless received a green card there.

But today he wants to live in Russia. He has a girlfriend - Oksana Domnina, a talented 23-year-old figure skater. She comes from Kirov, came to Moscow eight years ago. Performs in tandem with Maxim Shabalin.

She and Oksana have known each other for a long time, their relationship began in 2001, when they traveled around Russia together, performing in Ilya Averbukh's show "Ice Symphony". They traveled in the same buses, trains, lived in the same hotels. And one day, moving from one city to another, they suddenly sat down next to each other and started talking. Roma was drawn to Oksana like a magnet. Soon they realized that they were very suitable for each other, the same characters, complement each other. Oksana is flexible, gentle, always ready to help, Roma tries to support her in everything.
They started living together.

Roma does not throw money right and left - it was always difficult for him to get it, since he achieved everything in his life with his own labor.

Roma is in no hurry to marry again, especially since Oksana is happy with everything so far. They love each other, that's the main thing.

Favorite women

With Tatyana Navka

Roman Kostomarov never had a reputation as a womanizer, although he himself admitted that in his youth he did not let pretty girls through. “This is to some extent bravado,” the skater later explained. “It's just that when you're alone, you search like any normal man. You choose, you look to whom you suit, who suits you. That's life".

The first serious feeling overtook Roman at the age of 20. His chosen one was a figure skater Julia Lautova who was only 17 years old at the time. The athletes met at the skating rink of the Olimpiysky sports complex in Moscow. It was a real romance at a distance: Kostomarov then lived and trained with Tatyana Navka in the USA, Yulia in Russia. But this version of the relationship turned out to be the most suitable for the couple. Daily phone calls and rare meetings did not let Roman and Yulia get bored with each other. But when the girl decided to quit sports and the lovers began to live together, problems began.

“I kept disappearing in training. Julia was jealous - either for the sport, or for Tanya, or for other skaters, - said Roman. - Warm feelings that were at first, gradually faded away. And yet in June 2004 we got married. The marriage lasted a little over a year. And that's all. We decided to divorce. It was scary! They couldn't separate us for almost a year. Either I didn’t manage to come in time, then she did. Then I realized that marriage is superfluous headache».

Wedding of Roman and Oksana

Unsuccessful experience official relations affected when Roman started dating another skater - Oksana Domnina. They felt attraction to each other during a joint tour with the show "Ice Symphony" by Ilya Averbukh. But there was no talk of a wedding. Even the birth of Anastasia's daughter in 2011 did not make Roman think about registering a marriage with the baby's mother. Oksana at first put up with this, but then she began to hint that she still dreams of a white dress and veil. Roman did not react to this. As a result, at the end of 2013, the skaters broke up, and Oksana went to the partner in the Ice Age project, the actor Vladimir Yaglych.

But the parting did not last long - soon Domnina returned to Kostomarov. And already in March 2014, Roman offered his beloved to become his wife! The wedding took place at the end of April, the marriage registration - a month after that. The wedding was a secret, only the closest were present at the ceremony. The fact that Domnina and Kostomarov became husband and wife became known at another wedding - Marat Basharova. Oksana and Roman wedding rings in their arms, without hesitation, they showed their feelings there.

Five unexpected facts from life

Photo frame from the film "On Treason"

  • Roman has several tattoos, each of which means something. So, after breaking up with Oksana Domnina, he made a tattoo “Love is a crucifixion” (the inscription is made on English language). But there are others, for example, "The main thing is the family."
  • At the age of 15, Kostomarov pierced his ear, because he wanted to be like the figure skater Sergei Klimov.
  • At first, a couple of Roman Kostomarov - Tatyana Navka was considered unpromising. The skaters skated for a year (from 1998 to 1999), after which the coach paired Roman with Anna Semenovich. However, this duet soon broke up due to the fact that Roman and Anna were constantly in conflict. Kostomarov returned to Navka.
  • After moving to the United States, Kostomarov lived with figure skater Oksana Baiul for a year and a half. At the same time, the relationship between the athletes all this time remained purely friendly. The novel moved out when Oksana got a permanent boyfriend and became jealous of the girl for Kostomarov.
  • The novel played in several films and the TV series "Hot Ice". The most unexpected role was in the film "On Treason" (2010), where the skater portrayed ... a lifeless body.

First steps in sports

Roman started figure skating at the children's ice theater at the AZLK Sports Palace. He first wore skates in 1986. Later, Kostomarov continued his studies at the AZLK sports club, then at the MGFSO and MGS Dynamo. The first coach of the figure skater was Svetlana Alekseeva. Roman Kostomarov found a couple for performances in 1988, he was then 11 years old. Ekaterina Davydova became his partner, however, he skated with her even earlier. In 1996, the couple won the World Junior Championship. By the way, Roman Kostomarov and Ekaterina Davydova were trained by Katya's mother Lidia Karavaeva, Oleg Filippov, Svetlana Alekseeva and Oleg Epshtein. They then led young people to success.

Big sport

In 1995, Roman Kostomarov became a member of the Russian figure skating team. He stayed there until 2006.

And in 1998, the skater changed a pair. He began performing with Tatyana Navka. In addition, at the invitation of Natalia Linichuk, Roman went to train in America. At the same time, a contract was signed with Kostomarov for the Olympic cycle.

But a year later, Natalya Linichuk proposed to make a new dance duet. Figure skater Roman Kostomarov and as a partner Anna Semenovich. This couple existed in the 1999-2000 season. They won a silver medal at the Russian Championship in 2000. However, Semenovich and Kostomarov did not have a chance to dance for a long time. The duet broke up due to psychological and professional differences.

By the way, at that time Roman Kostomarov lived in America and trained in Montclair, New Jersey. It took him about 25-27 hours a week to prepare for the competition. At the same time, Tatyana Navka could not find herself a new worthy partner, so I left training for a while. At this time, just at Navka and her husband Alexander Zhulin, Alexander's daughter was born.

Return

Roman and Tatyana were well aware that they were suitable for each other as athletes, in terms of aspirations and data. Navka's husband Alexander Zhulin, Honored Coach of Russia, also believed in their couple. Zhulin began to train figure skaters. But since 2002, Elena Chaikovskaya began to advise the couple. And in 2006, while preparing for the Olympic Games, Tatyana Tarasova took up Kostomarov and Navka. Tatyana Druchinina acted as a choreographer.

It is worth noting that since 2004, Roman and Tatiana have suffered only one defeat over the course of three seasons. After the games in Turin, Kostomarov and Navka stopped their amateur career and returned to their homeland, to Russia. By the way, here the couple continued to exist. Upon their return, the skaters took part in the most successful ice show on television, Stars on Ice. This is the project of Ilya Averbukh. After that, Roman Kostomarov and Tatyana Navka began to perform in other shows.

In 2007, Roman was on the Ice Age TV project and became its winner along with actress Chulpan Khamatova. And in the fall of that year, Kostomarov was offered leading role in the TV series "Hot Ice". Biography of the eminent skater

Roman was born in the capital of Russia on February 8, 1977. His parents had nothing to do with figure skating and sports in general. His father worked as an electrician, and his mother worked as a cook. The future Olympic champion also has a younger brother.

Childhood and youth

As a child Kostomarov dreamed of becoming an athlete. They did not take him to gymnastics and swimming. A friend of his parents suggested that the boy take up figure skating, as she worked as a doctor at the Ice Palace. So at the age of 9, Roman first got on skates. He immediately began to train very actively and achieved the fact that after a few months he took part in the productions of the group.

A couple of years later, Kostomarov was noticed by Lydia Karavaeva, who became his first coach. She paired the boy with her daughter. Together they were able to win the World Junior Championship in 1996. The woman was very protective of her ward: she fed him dinners and escorted him home. A talented couple, in addition to Karavaeva, was also trained by Svetlana Alekseevna, Oleg Filippov and others.

After graduating from the Moscow Academy of Physical Education, Kostomarov left to train in the United States.

Professional career

When the skater was only 21 years old, he accepted the invitation of the new coach Natalia Linichuk and moved to live in Delaware. During this period, a contract was concluded with a young man for the Olympic cycle.

In the USA, the young man had to train a lot, so he did not have the opportunity to find a part-time job. Roman had to live on $150 a month, which he received on a par with other skaters. Kostomarov was forced to walk for half an hour several times a day to the sports ground and eat fast food.

Initially, he was paired with Tatyana Navka, but their duet was considered unpromising and Roman was replaced by a partner. He began performing with Anna Semenovich. The coaches paid little attention to Kostomarov, as they did not see him as a star. And with a new partner, the young man could not find common language. Their joint training constantly ended in conflicts.

Despite constant quarrels, in 2000 the duet was able to win silver at the Russian Championship. At the European Championship and at the world tournament, their results were significantly lower. The couple soon broke up.

Roman moved to New Jersey and began to wander around the apartments of his acquaintances. Sometimes he even had to spend the night in attics. Later, Kostomarov himself would call this period very important for him as a person and as a skater.

A little later, the athlete again began to ride with Tatyana Navka. The new partner has just given birth and has not trained for some time. Both realized that they were perfect for each other in character and height.

The duo began to train Tatiana's husband - Alexander Zhulin. And since 2002, Elena Chaikovskaya began to advise the couple. In the same year, Kostomarov and Navka took only tenth place in Salt Lake City. But two years later, everything changed, the couple began to perform much better. Skaters dreamed of Olympic gold. And they had every chance of it, as they began to take one first place after another:

  • European Championship in Hungary.
  • World Championship in Germany.
  • Championship of Russia in Kazan.
  • World Championship in Moscow.
  • European Championship in France.

At the 2006 Olympics, which took place in Turin, Kostomarov and Navka were able to win after the Carmen free program. Tatyana Tarasova prepared them for the performance. The video of their musical number is on Youtube and to this day it is quite popular.
