Introduction

The topic chosen by me “These amazing animals…” interested me not by chance.

I am interested in getting to know the life of different animals climatic zones and on different continents. I really like to learn everything new, amazing facts, records, etc. Therefore, I was very interested in the preparation of the conference.

Objective: to study and systematize scientific material on this topic.

Object of study:various animals, their life and adaptability to the external environment, by studying the material in the scientific press.

Hypothesis: the influence of living organisms on the perception of the life of wildlife, on a person will be effective if people:

Study animals and flora.

Be interested in nature around your home, school, city.

Protect animals.

Take an active part in the conservation of nature.

Based on the object to achieve the goal, the following tasks are defined:

Analyze the literature on the research topic.

Take part in activities related to the protection of nature.

1. Animal Kingdom

There are four kingdoms of living organisms on our planet: plants, fungi, animals, microorganisms. Animals – very ancient and incredible diverse group living organisms. The vast majority of species of living organisms on Earth belongs to the animal kingdom. Moreover, it is only among animals that we observe the development of behavior and nervous activity similar to a human.

So, we begin our journey through the amazing animal kingdom.

About 1 million 500 thousand species of various animals live on earth. They inhabit the entire globe: land, seas, rivers, oceans. In other words, their habitat is diverse: water, air, earth.

Protective coloration.

Animals have a coloration that blends with the environment where they live. This is the most common way to protect against enemies. It is very difficult to notice a green grasshopper in the green grass, a lark sitting on the ground, a lizard on the sand.

Warning coloration.

But the coloring of animals is also very bright. For example, a beetle ladybug has a bright red color with black circles. Some butterflies have bright spots, snakes have yellow spots on their heads. These animals have venom glands that secrete a poisonous fluid to protect themselves from enemies. Therefore, theirthe bright coloring seems to say: “See how bright I am - I am poisonous, don’t touch me.”Enemies are afraid to attack them, and they save their lives.

Some animals have stripes on the body, like a zebra, a tiger, spots like a panther, snow leopard, giraffe. These stripes, spots dismember the body into separate pieces, there is no clear outline of the animal's body, and the enemy does not see this animal and does not attack it.

2. The relationship between animals.

Animals are predators - they eat live prey, there are herbivorous animals, they eat plants. And there are omnivores that eat both animals and plants.

The relationship between animals develops not only in eating each other. Among animals there are examples of friendship with each other.

Most famous example friendship is the friendship of a marine hermit crab with an anemone.Cancer lives at the bottom of the sea. It has a very soft body and therefore anyone could destroy it. But the cancer defended itself, it climbs inside an empty shell and moves only with its shell house. To protect himself even better, he plants an anemone on his house. This small marine animal has poisonous tentacles with which it kills small animals. Anemone does not move itself, but waits for small fish or other animals to swim past. But when the hermit crab transplanted her into his shell, she became a traveller. This friendship is beneficial to both. The sea anemone protects the crab from enemies, and the crab gives her the leftover food from her dinner.

Highly interesting example can be brought from the life of crocodiles.it ferocious predators, they attack large animals, tearing them apart with their strong, curved teeth. Since crocodiles do not know how to brush their teeth, pieces of meat of the victim get stuck between their teeth and begin to rot. The crocodile could die from cadaveric poison, which would get into the bloodstream, because blood poisoning would result. He is rescued by small birds - Easter cakes. The crocodile comes out on land, opens its terrible mouth, and the small cakes fly into his mouth and begin to eat the rest

meat of the victim. This is beneficial for both the crocodile and the bird. Kulichka gets food and saves the crocodile from death. The crocodile will never close its mouth while the bird is there. This is how crocodiles are friends with Easter cakes. This friendship is called "Symbiosis"

3. Records of land animals

  1. African elephant -heaviest land animal. Adult African elephant weighs 6 tons!
  1. Most little animalThis is a pygmy whitetooth. She weighs about 2 grams!
  1. Polar bear - the largest land predator.
  1. Ostriches - the largest birds in the world. Their growth reaches 3 meters. They run fast, reaching a speed of 70 km per hour!
  1. Giraffe - the tallest animal in the world. The growth of an adult male can reach 6 meters!
  1. The smallest lizard in the world -dwarf gecko. Its length is only 1.6 cm!
  1. The smallest horse- Argentine falabella. The height of the smallest horse was 38 cm, and the weight was 12 kg!
  1. Cheetah - the fastest land animal. At short distances it develops speed up to 120 km/h!
  1. Scientists believe - the number of insects on Earth is hundreds of millions of times greater than the number of people living on the entire planet!

Southern Europe. It is located on an area of six thousand square kilometers and consists of millions of anthills!

11. The most poisonous snake - Taipan from Australia. A single bite can kill 100 people.

12. Animal sloth champion- two-toed sloth, moves at a speed of 1 m / min, in case of danger 4 m / min!

4. Interesting facts from the life of animals

The most dangerous animals of our planet are mosquitoes, ticks, flies, cockroaches, gadflies. They are carriers of dangerous diseases: malaria, encephalitis, yellow fever, sleeping sickness and other deadly diseases. Deaths from small bloodsuckers are a thousand times more than from tigers, snakes, and sharks combined.

There are about 1000 species of bats in the world. They live everywhere except Antarctica. They eat insects that they catch on the fly at night. They make special sounds (people can't hear them) ultrasounds. Sounds reach the victim, are reflected and fall into the large ears of bats. And she feels where her prey is. Their echo sounders catch the squeak of a mosquito for 16 km!

Pandas live only in China, they feed on young bamboo shoots. Black "glasses" around the eyes and black ears on a white muzzle help pandas to see each other in dense thickets of bamboo. Right now in wild nature there are about 1000 pandas. China does not sell its pandas, but leases them to zoos in other countries.

Elephants live in savannas where there is no rain in summer, but elephants can smell water up to 4 km away and go there to drink.

There are fish that raise their babies in their mouths. The telapia fish lives off the coast of Africa. She lays eggs in the male's mouth. They are hatched there, and when fry appear from the eggs, at first they hide in the mouth of the pope in case of danger.

bird's milk became a symbol of something extraordinary, which does not exist in the world. It turns out that there is, our pigeons feed their chicks with it. Before the appearance of the chicks in the goiter, both parents produce milk, which they feed their chicks. Newborn chicks launch their chicks. Newborn chicks launch their beaks into the goiter of mom and dad and feed on milk for a week and a half - two weeks. In addition to pigeons, petrels and penguins feed their chicks with similar bird milk.

The smallest bird in Russia is the kinglet. She weighs 5 grams. And the largest capercaillie weighs 5-6 kg.

Chameleons can quickly change color depending on the color of the environment. Each eye of a chameleon rotates on its own, looking for insects. The chameleon has enough prey on the fly. With incredible accuracy, shooting at her with his long, sticky tongue.

5. Marine animals and their records

The largest blue whale weighs 150 tons, almost like 50 African elephants. Its body length is 33 meters. A whale can eat 4 tons of small food (plankton) per day. The calf is born under water. The mother immediately pushes him to the surface. For him to breathe in.

Especially smart dolphins! They live in friendly groups, are able to communicate with each other and transmit about 50 words with sounds. Sperm whales dive up to 1 km deep, and swim at a speed of 16-30 km per hour.

Sharks are strong big fish. They are in motion all the time. They dont have swim bladder like other fish. And

if they stop. They will go to the bottom. Sharks have large, sharp teeth for grasping prey. White shark or "cannibal shark" the size of a passenger bus.

Marine animal records

  1. Blue whale - the largest animal. Its length is 33 m!
  1. The smallest marine fish -pygmy goby living in Indian Ocean. Its length is 8.7 millimeters!

3. Sailfish -the fastest fish, speeds up to 110 km per hour!

  1. Whale shark - the largest fish. It can reach 13 meters in length! Feeds on plankton.
  1. Marine iguana -the only lizard that lives in the sea!
  1. Giant squid -the largest invertebrate animal reaches 13 meters in length!
  1. The most venomous sea snake bonito.
  1. The clam Tridacna has the largest shell. It reaches one and a half meters in length and weighs almost 25 kg!
  1. The largest jellyfish is the arctic cyanide. Bell reaches 2.5 meters, and the length of the tentacles is 36.5 meters!
  1. At seahorses offspring are carried by males:The female lays her eggs in a special pocket on the abdomen of the male!

6. Protection of the animal world. They need to be saved!

Unfortunately, the number of wild animals is rapidly declining. Some of them have become rare, others have already disappeared from the face of the earth. People cut down forests to make room for crops, and animals die. So, there are only 30 Javan rhinos in the reserve on the island of Java. Animals such as the wild bull-tur, the wild horse - tarpan, the Turanian tiger, the passenger pigeon, the Steller's cow were destroyed. Many animals got to the page of the Red Book.

Animals of the Red Book

The Red Book warns us about the danger of extinction of a number of animals.Urgent measures are needed to protect them. For example, it is necessary to establish strict deadlines and rules for hunting. Hunting for rare animals is generally prohibited. Valuable fur animals have long been bred on fur farms, in

nurseries. Reserves have been created for the protection and reproduction of valuable animals and plants.

The reserve is a form of protection of natural areas. They prohibit any economic activity: logging, mining, haymaking, plant collection, animal grazing, construction.

Many species of rare animals and plants have been saved from extermination thanks to nature reserves. Thus, bison, kulan, tiger, dappled deer, maral. Also flamingo birds, turach, white heron, Sultanka and many others. Our state has issued laws on the protection of air, water, minerals, soil, plants, and animals.

We, schoolchildren, must also learn to protect nature and love animals. We can do many useful things.I want to finish the information with a sad but true poem!

A homeless kitten was sitting in the entrance,
He looked through the crack of someone's door sadly.
Unhappy, frozen, in the corner, in the dark,
He heard a rumbling in his stomach.

Watched the people passing by
Who were all in worries, home.
He directed his fading gaze towards them,
He expected sympathy and help from them.

With his eyes he asked people: "Help,
Take me, give me shelter.
Don't let me die of hunger here
I can't endure such pain!"

And people, showing no sympathy,
We walked past, not noticing the kitten ...
The night has already come, silence is all around,
And the sufferer's soul flies up to the sky.

Publishing house "Rosmen", Moscow, 2010

Our planet is inhabited by many amazing animals. Some populations are widespread, while others are on the verge of extinction. Most people have never heard of their existence, and probably have not seen these animals. All these animals really exist. But not all of them are widely known ...

SCHELEZUB.

A mammal from the order of insectivores, divided into two main species: the Cuban flint tooth and the Haitian. A relatively large animal compared to other types of insectivores: its length is 32 centimeters, and its tail, on average, is 25 cm, the weight of the animal is about 1 kilogram, and its body is dense.

SIFACA.

Monkey of the indriev family. A relatively new genus of primates, discovered only in 2004. Silky sifakas live in the eastern part of the island of Madagascar. The range is approximately 2.2 thousand square meters. km.

The distribution area is limited in the north of the skeleton by the Marojejy Massif region, and in the south it reaches Anjanahari. Adult individuals have a body length with a head from 45 to 55 cm, a tail 45-51 cm long. Weight 5-6.5 kg.

MANED WOLF.

Lives in South America. The long legs of the wolf are the result of evolution in matters of adaptation to the habitat, they help the animal overcome obstacles in the form of tall grass growing on the plains.

AFRICAN CIVETA.

The only representative of the same genus. These animals live in Africa in open spaces with high grass from Senegal to Somalia, southern Namibia and eastern regions South Africa.

The dimensions of the animal can visually increase quite strongly when the civet raises its hair when excited. And her fur is thick and long, especially on the back closer to the tail. Paws, muzzle and end of the tail are completely black, most of the body is spotted and striped.

MUSKRAT.

The animal is quite famous, thanks to its sonorous name. Just a good photo

PROEKHIDNA.

This miracle of nature usually weighs up to 10 kg, although larger specimens have also been noted. By the way, the length of the body of the prochidna reaches 77 cm, and this is not counting their cute five to seven centimeter tail. Any description of this animal is based on comparison with the echidna: the paws of the echidna are higher, the claws are more powerful.

Another feature of the appearance of the prochidna is the spurs on the hind legs of males and the five-fingered hind limbs and the three-fingered forelimbs.

SEA CUCUMBER (HOLOTHURIA).

sea pods, sea cucumbers(Holothuroidea), a class of invertebrates of the echinoderm type. Species eaten are common name"trepang".

HELL VAMPIRE

Mollusk. Despite its obvious resemblance to octopus and squid, scientists have identified this mollusk in separate detachment Vampyromorphida (lat.), because as soon as it has retractable sensitive bead-like filaments.

AARDVARK

In Africa, these mammals are called aardvark, which means "earth pig" in Russian. In fact, the aardvark in appearance very much resembles a pig, only with an elongated muzzle.

The ears of this amazing animal are very similar in structure to those of a hare. There is also a muscular tail, which is very similar to the tail of such an animal as a kangaroo.

JAPANESE GIANT SALAMANDRA

To date, it is the largest amphibian that can reach 160 cm in length, weigh up to 180 kg and can live up to 150 years, although officially registered maximum age giant salamander is 55 years old.

SUMATRAN RHINO.

They belong to the equine-hoofed animals of the rhinoceros family. This species of rhinoceros is the smallest of the entire family.

The body length of an adult Sumatran rhinoceros can reach 200 - 280 cm, and the height at the withers can vary from 100 to 150 cm. Such rhinos can weigh up to 1000 kg.

GALAGO.

Its large fluffy tail is clearly comparable to that of a squirrel. And the charming muzzle and graceful movements, flexibility and insinuation, clearly reflect his feline trait. The amazing jumping ability, mobility, strength and incredible agility of this animal clearly show its nature as a funny cat and elusive squirrel.

Of course, it would be where to use their talents, because a cramped cage is very poorly suited for this. But, if you give this little animal a little freedom and sometimes allow him to walk around the apartment, then all his quirks and talents will come true. Many even compare it to a kangaroo.

WOMBAT.

Without a photograph of a wombat, it is generally impossible to talk about strange and rare animals.

FISH-MOON or MOLA-MOLA.

This fish can be over three meters long and weigh about one and a half tons. The largest specimen of the moonfish was caught in New Hampshire, USA.

Its length was five and a half meters, data on weight are not available. In shape, the body of the fish resembles a disk, it was this feature that gave rise to the Latin name. The moonfish has thicker skin. It is elastic, and its surface is covered with small bony protrusions.

Fish larvae of this species and juveniles swim in the usual way. Adult large fish swim on their side, quietly moving their fins. They seem to lie on the surface of the water, where they are very easy to notice and catch.

However, many experts believe that only sick fish swim in this way. As an argument, they cite the fact that the stomach of fish caught on the surface is usually empty.

GAVIAL.

Of course, one of the representatives of the detachment of crocodiles. With age, the muzzle of the gharial becomes even narrower and longer. Due to the fact that the gharial feeds on fish, its teeth are long and sharp, located with a slight inclination for the convenience of eating.

OKAPI, aka FOREST GIRAFFE.

Traveling through Central Africa, journalist and explorer of Africa Henry Morton Stanley (1841-1904) more than once encountered local natives.

Having once met an expedition equipped with horses, the natives of the Congo told the famous traveler that they had wild animals in the jungle, very similar to his horses. The Englishman, who had seen a lot, was somewhat puzzled by this fact.

After some negotiations in 1900, the British were finally able to purchase parts of the skin of a mysterious beast from the local population and send them to the Royal Zoological Society in London, where they gave the unknown animal the name "Johnston's Horse" (Equus johnstoni), that is, they identified it as a member of the horse family. .

But what was their surprise when, a year later, they managed to get a whole skin and two skulls of an unknown animal, and discover that It looked more like pygmy giraffe times ice age. Only in 1909 was it possible to catch a live specimen of Okapi.

VALABI or WOODEN KANGAROO.

Their original habitat was New Guinea, but now wallabies are also found in Australia.

Tree kangaroos live in the tropical forests of mountainous regions, at an altitude of 450 to 3000m. above sea level. The body size of the animal is 52-81 cm, the tail is from 42 to 93 cm long. Wallabies weigh, depending on the species, from 7.7 to 10 kg males and from 6.7 to 8.9 kg. females.

FENEK or STEPPE FOX.

Similar to a wombat - without it, this collection will not fully correspond to the name.

PALM THIEF.

A representative of the decapod crustaceans. The habitat of which is the western part of the Pacific Ocean and tropical islands Indian Ocean.

This animal from the family of land crayfish is quite large for its species. The body of an adult individual reaches a size of up to 32 cm and a weight of up to 3-4 kg. For a long time it was mistakenly believed that with its claws it could even split coconuts, which it then eats.

To date, scientists have proven that cancer can only eat already split coconuts. They, being its main source of nutrition, gave the name palm thief. Although he is not averse to eating other types of food - the fruits of Pandanus plants, organic matter from the ground and even their own kind.

The name of this fish in Latin sounds too boring, because it is easier to call it FISH WITH TRANSPARENT HEAD.

She has a transparent head through which she can see with her tubular eyes. The head through which the fish watches prey helps protect the eyes. First opened in 1939. It lives at a much greater depth, so it has not been fully studied.

In particular, the principle of fish vision was not entirely clear. It was believed that she must experience very great difficulties in view of the fact that she can only look up.

Only in 2009 was the structure of the eye of this fish fully studied. Apparently, when trying to study it earlier, the fish simply could not stand the change in pressure.

TARSIER.

A small mammal from the order of primates, very specific appearance which created a somewhat ominous halo around this small animal weighing up to one hundred and sixty grams. So, indigenous people Indonesia and the Philippine Islands associated the ridiculous appearance of the tarsier with the tricks of evil spirits.

However, many of our contemporaries, who first see the tarsier in its native habitat, remain amazed at its non-standard appearance.

SLUD JUMPER.

Found in areas intertidal zone and in areas like the tropical swamps that form in mangrove habitats.

Especially mudskippers like to settle in places where fresh water meets with the sea. And although from a scientific point of view they are fish, many perceive them as amphibians. Well, in a sense, it is.

HERBIVORE DRACULA.

Bats ("Sphaeronycteris toxophyllum" lat.) This species lives in the north South America(Amazon basin and mountains). These the bats, oddly enough, are herbivores.

BELTTAIL.

The habitat of belttails extends to the rocky regions of Africa, which have an arid climate, mainly on the south side of the Sahara desert. In addition, belttails live in a certain amount on the island of Madagascar.

There are more than forty species of belttails in the world. The sizes of the belttails are quite different and range from 12 to 70 centimeters in length. The entire body of the girdletail is covered with rectangular plates - scales that cover the bone base of the reptile.

ARM or AY-AY.

The Madagascar arm or "ah-ah", a mammal of the semi-monkey suborder; the only representative of the family of rukonoki. Body length 40 cm, tail 60 cm. The head is large, the muzzle is short; ears are large, leathery. The tail is fluffy. Fur color is dark brown to black.

DEVIL LEAF Gecko,

which was seen while exploring Madagascar in 1998. This species was first described in 1888, and is a frequent inhabitant of the virgin forests of Madagascar. In 2004 World Foundation Wildlife has listed all leaf-like geckos as "Most Endangered" because they are "caught and sold in huge numbers."

DEEP SEA SHELLS

One of the strangest prehistoric animals. They are found when ice breaks in Antarctica. These meter-long worms are considered the first life forms to inhabit the bottom of the Antarctic Ocean.

Owston's civet

Owston's civet (lat. Chrotogale owstoni) belongs to the viverrid family and with its elongated muzzle resembles a large shrew. Little is known about her life in the wild.

Ouston's civet is native to forests and wooded lowlands in the river basins of northern Vietnam, Laos, and southern China. Her favorite treat - earthworms and other invertebrates.

At the end of January, civet begins mating season, and after three months, spotted babies are born, which, growing up, grow up to 57 cm in length, another 43 cm is added due to the tail.

The variety of shapes, colors and sizes of creatures that inhabit our planet surpasses even the richest imagination. We are pleased to present you the most unusual animals in the world. Some of them look like characters from a science fiction movie about Mars, others seem to come from another dimension, but they all live on Earth and were created by mother nature.

25. Octopus Dumbo

The funny octopus opens the hit parade of amazing creatures. He lives at great depths (from one hundred to five thousand meters) and is mainly engaged in the search for crustaceans and worms on the seabed. Its name, reminiscent of an elephant calf with big ears, the octopus received thanks to two unusually shaped fins.

24. Darwin's Bat

Creatures from the bat family are found in the waters around Galapagos Islands. They are terrible swimmers and have instead learned to walk the ocean floor on their flippers.

23. Chinese water deer

This animal has earned the nickname "Vampire Deer" for its prominent fangs, which are used in battles for territory.

22. Starship

The small North American mole gets its name from the circle of 22 pink, fleshy tentacles at the end of its snout. They are used to identify starfish food (worms, insects and crustaceans) by touch.

21. Ay-ay

In this photo - one of the most unusual animals in the world with the name "ay-ay" or "arm". This Madagascar native is notable for its unique foraging method; it knocks on trees to find larvae and then gnaws holes in the wood and inserts an elongated middle finger to pull out prey.

20. Living Stone

Pyura Chilensis are living, breathing organisms found on Chilean beaches. Their appearance allows them to avoid predators. Interestingly, these creatures have both male and female organs and can reproduce without the help of a partner.

19. Pacu fish

Freshwater fish with human teeth are found in rivers in the Amazon and Orinoco basins, as well as in Papua New Guinea. A nightmare for local fishermen who are afraid to swim in the water because they confuse male testicles with nuts falling from trees into the water.

18. Drop fish

One of the strangest animals in the world. By the appearance of this creature, we can say that it is the embodiment of despondency. It lives in deep waters off the coast of Australia and Tasmania.

The blob fish lives in the depths and its flesh is a gel-like mass with a density slightly less than that of water. This allows the "dull" creature to stay afloat.

17. Eastern long neck turtle

These turtles can be found throughout Australia. Their wonderful necks can reach a length of up to 25 cm.

16. Surinam pipa

Leaf-like appearance Surinamese pipa is a natural defense against predators. These toads have a unique breeding method: the female lays eggs and the male releases sperm at the same time. The female dives down and the eggs fall on her back, into the cells, where they are until the time comes for the young peeps to be born.

15. Yeti Crab

The "hairy" claws of this crustacean, which lives in the depths of the southern part, contain many filamentous bacteria. They are needed to neutralize poisonous minerals from the water and, possibly, serve as food for their carrier.

14. Bearded man

These beautiful birds live on Everest, the Himalayas and other mountainous regions in Europe and Asia. They were almost destroyed because people were afraid that bearded men would attack animals and children. Now there are only 10,000 of them left on Earth.

13. Pike blenny

They live in the waters off the western coast of America, can grow up to 30 cm in length and have intimidatingly large mouths. Their pike blennies demonstrate to each other as if they are kissing. Whoever has a larger mouth is more important.

12. Decorated tree kite

A living nightmare for many people: a snake that climbs trees and then jumps down. Before the jump, the reptile curls up into a spiral, and then abruptly turns around and throws itself into the air. In flight, it stretches out and lands smoothly on a lower branch or other tree. Fortunately, flying snakes do not pay attention to people, they are more interested in bats, frogs and rodents.

11. North American cahomizli

The homeland of this cute animal from the raccoon family is arid areas. North America. They are so easy to tame that miners and settlers once kept them as companions and gave them the nickname "miner's cat".

10. Striped tenrec

It lives only in the tropical forests of Madagascar. The tenrec is somewhat porcupine-like, and the quills in the central back can vibrate. With their help, animals locate each other.

9. Pink sea cucumber

It looks like a character from a science fiction movie, but in reality it is a harmless creature. And it looks more like a jellyfish than its relatives holothurians. Around its red mouth are tentacles that dig up edible dirt from the bottom of the sea. From there, it enters the creature's intestines.

8. Rhinopithecus

Famed broadcaster and naturalist David Attenborough once remarked that these marvelous monkeys, with their stump noses and blue "masks" around their eyes, looked like "elves." Can you look at them and say, plastic surgery gone too far." Rhinopithecus live in Asia, at altitudes up to 4000 meters and are rarely seen by humans.

7. Mantis shrimp

Colorful stomatopod or mantis shrimp spends most their lives hiding in burrows. Able to break through the walls of aquariums by moving at speeds up to 80 km per hour. During mating games, mantis shrimp actively fluoresce, with the wavelength of the fluorescence corresponding to the wavelength that the pigments in their eyes can perceive.

6 Panda Ant

Among the most unusual animals on the planet is a fluffy panda-colored creature. In fact, this is not an ant, but a wingless wasp that lives in South America. It is very similar in appearance to an ant, but, unlike it, has a powerful sting.

5. Leaf-tailed gecko

The master of disguise hails from Madagascar. Thanks to its leaf-shaped tail, it can fit into the "interior" of the local jungle.

4. Gerenuk

It is hard to believe that this long-necked charmer is not a mini-giraffe, but a real African gazelle. In order to reach the high branches, the gerenuk lacks only the length of the neck. You still have to stand on your hind legs.

3 Chinese Giant Salamander

It can grow up to 180 cm long and weigh up to 70 kg. If you are in China and see such a creature in a local reservoir, then you should know that the water in this reservoir is very clean and cold.

2. Angora rabbit

Looks like the result of a crossbreeding experiment Bigfoot with a kitten. Angora rabbits were exceptionally popular in the 17th and 18th centuries among European nobility. They were not eaten, but kept as pets.

1. Goblin shark (aka goblin shark)

Number one in our top 25 strange creatures comes the rare shark, sometimes referred to as a "living fossil". This is the only surviving representative of the Scapanorhynchus family, whose pedigree is about 125 million years old. Goblin sharks live all over the world at depths of more than 100 m, so they are not dangerous for swimmers.

How amazing creatures lives with us on the planet! We know very little about some of them, and for some, acquaintance with a person becomes fatal, since after the discovery of some species of animals they began to be exterminated. And yet, we hope that the rare and amazing animals of the planet Earth, which will be described in the article, will remain an adornment of our world for a long time to come.

named ah-ah

A creature lives in Madagascar, which is classified as a semi-monkey - ay-ay or an arm. This is the most amazing animal in the world and, in addition, the rarest in terms of numbers (only 50 individuals). When the researcher Pierre Sonner first discovered him, he decided that he was in front of a rodent, since the teeth of the arm are very similar to those of a squirrel.

The animal grows up to 44 cm, but the fluffy tail grows much longer than its body - up to 60 cm. And the most amazing thing about the little arm is the middle fingers of its forelimbs. This is without which the animal can not do.

With it, the little arm cleans its fur, drinks water (previously dipping a finger in it, and then licking it) and, most importantly, gets food. She taps her finger on the bark of a tree and, finding a suitable place, gnaws through the bark. Then the little arm lowers its finger into the hole in order to prick the larva on the claw and send it into the mouth. In captivity, even after receiving a bowl of sweet syrup, the little hands turn it over, gnaw a hole in the bottom, and then drink the syrup with their irreplaceable finger.

Tarsiers - the owner of the largest eyes

Some researchers believe that the most amazing animals in the world are tarsiers. The appearance of these crumbs is striking. Their body length does not exceed 15 cm, but their eyes are 16 mm in diameter. If such proportions are translated into human height, then our eyes would be the size of an apple!

Tarsier can rotate its head almost 360°. And the animals are able to communicate with the help of ultrasound. These tiny primates are nocturnal, preying on insects, while they deftly jump onto a branch, throwing their hind legs like a frog. And long fingers with flattened pads help them to hold on and not fall.

Vulture turtle - a dinosaur that has survived to this day

We are used to the fact that turtles are slow and harmless creatures, but the vulture turtle will make you change your mind. Outwardly, this most amazing animal in the world looks like a dinosaur that has survived to this day. And her character is not honey!

Grow this inhabitant freshwater rivers The USA can be up to 1.5 m, and it will weigh 80 kg. It is decorated with a “beak”, very similar to the beak of the bird of the same name, and on the tongue this creature has a small constantly moving process, very similar to a worm. By the way, it serves which the turtle catches by burrowing into the silt and opening its mouth.

The tortoise shell is crowned with three bone crests, similar to a saw, and the tail is only slightly inferior in length to the crocodile. If we add here the numerous warts with which its neck and chin are equipped, as well as the algae covering the shell, then the view of the vulture turtle is very unattractive. But she can hold out under water for 50 minutes and has very sharp eyesight.

drop fish

Many bizarre and little-studied creatures live in the depths of the ocean. And the category of “the most amazing animal in the world” can safely be attributed to the inhabitant of deep water, a drop fish. This gelatinous, inactive lump is actually only remotely similar to a fish. And almost human dissatisfied and completely surprising.

The body of the fish is only 30 cm long, it is devoid of scales and covered with mucus, and the massive head is decorated with a process that looks like a hanging nose. The huge mouth of this "beauty" has lips twisted in a displeased-squeamish grimace.

The blob fish doesn't like to swim. Although her jelly-like body is lighter than water and can easily float in the depths of the ocean, she often just lies motionless at the bottom and patiently waits for any small living creatures to swim into her mouth.

By the way, this sea drop hatches its eggs until fry appear from them. And even after that, she continues to take care of them.

Copepod - the strongest creature on the planet

And tiny blind crustaceans live in the water column, the length of the body of which does not exceed 10 mm - these are the strongest and most

The amazing world of these multicellular organisms is being closely studied by Danish scientists. They found that copepods are capable of covering a distance of 50 cm in a second, which is five hundred times the length of the body of this creature. If a person had such capabilities, then he could easily jump a kilometer! Here is this force! Copepods are 10 or even 30 times stronger than any animal and even a machine.

In a jump, copepods reach speeds of up to 6 km / h, and if these figures are translated into human parameters, it turns out that a person with a height of 170 cm could accelerate to a speed of 1000 km / h. Like this!

Crabs also have spiders

AT pacific ocean off the coast of Japan lives the most amazing animal in the world - the spider crab. It weighs almost 20 kg, and the size of its body, together with its paws, reaches 4 m. True, the body itself is only 35 cm. This crab is classified as a centenarian, it is believed that it can live up to 100 years!

Our arthropod giant is so huge that if he wanted to walk along the shore, he could easily step over the camper van. Fortunately, these crabs live only at a decent depth - up to 300 m. And only in order to lay their eggs, they rise to a depth of fifty meters.

By the way, if a spider crab loses one of its monstrous legs, then it grows back in it and becomes longer with each molt.

Miracle of nature - a fish with a transparent head

The most amazing animals of the planet have in their ranks and such a miracle as Creatures like her cannot be found all over the world. Her head is covered with a transparent shell and filled with liquid inside. And the eyes of the fish are inside this "aquarium" and can only look up, in the same place where they should be, the fish have nostrils.

This unreal creature was discovered only in 1939, since it lives at great depths (up to 800 m). But only in 2004, scientists were able to study in more detail the life of an amazing animal.

They found that the fish, seeing from below an object suitable for hunting, becomes upright, which is why its eyes, which are in a special liquid, turn, allowing it to be examined closer and then eat.
