ChTPZ acquired a 100% stake in the Connecting Branches of Pipelines Plant (CJSC SOT), which manufactures branches and pipeline assemblies; 100% stake in MSA, a manufacturer of pipe fittings.

2009

Solemn ceremony on the occasion of the launch of the Finishing Center for the production and processing of oil country tubular goods. Finishing center capacities include coupling section, line heat treatment pipes, a section for upsetting pipe ends, a section for non-destructive testing of pipes and a line for threading tubing and casing pipes. The total investment in the project is 6 billion rubles.

2008

ChTPZ Group acquired META, a scrap-purchasing and processing company (META LLC), and Rimera, an oilfield service provider and manufacturer of oilfield equipment.

2004

The Chelyabinsk Pipe Rolling Plant acquires 57% of the share capital of the Pervouralsky Novotrubny Plant (OAO PNTZ). In May 2008, ChTPZ increased its stake to 84.5%, and in December 2008 acquired 100% of PNTZ shares.

1990

In 1970–1990, the main workshops were reconstructed, which allowed the company's staff to increase the annual production of pipes. The country is experiencing an increase in demand for pipe products, caused by the restoration and rapid development of the oil and gas complex.

1980

In 1970–1980, the Chelyabinsk Pipe Rolling Plant achieved the status of the world's largest pipe enterprise with a production volume of up to 3.5 million tons of pipes per year. Pipes manufactured at ChTPZ are used in the laying of the main pipelines of the country: Druzhba, Bukhara-Ural, middle Asia-Center, Urengoy-Pomary-Uzhgorod, Surgut-Polotsk, "Shine of the North", etc.

: KSP Steel LLP is the first manufacturer of steel seamless pipes in Kazakhstan. The total area on which the production facilities of the enterprise are located is about 133 hectares. More than 7,500 professionally trained specialists work here. The company operates with a complete production cycle - from raw materials to finished products. Industrial complex The plant includes a steel-smelting shop, pipe-rolling production and pipe finishing lines. Such an integrated structure, supported by the Quality Management System, allows you to maximize the potential of the company.

The main activity of the plant is related to the production of seamless steel pipes of various diameters and purposes. Today, the company's products are successfully used in the construction of pipelines, at the facilities of oil and gas producing and exploration companies, machine-building and industrial enterprises in Kazakhstan. In addition to deliveries to the domestic market, it is actively exported to the CIS countries and non-CIS countries, including the United States.

The design capacity of the plant is 270 thousand tons of seamless steel pipes per year. The enterprise is able to annually produce up to 50 thousand tons of tubing (tubing), 150 thousand tons of casing, and 150 thousand tons of oil pipelines. The plant is equipped with equipment from Danieli, MAC, Cartacci, Tuboscope, Bronx, Colinet, PMC, Tiede, Sidermontaggi.

The plant has its own steel-smelting shop, which provides pipe-rolling production with cast billets. This guarantees the stability of production and the timely fulfillment of customer orders, and is also a key factor in achieving and maintaining a constant level of quality of the plant's final products. The workshop is designed to produce all grades of steel according to API 5L, API 5CT, ASTM, and GOST standards.

Steel-smelting production includes two stages with a total capacity of 800 thousand tons per year. They include an electric steel-smelting department, consisting of two 60-ton electric arc furnaces (EAF-60), two 60-ton ladle furnace units, vacuum degassing equipment, and two three-strand continuous casting plants (CCM).

And now we are moving to the pipe-rolling production. The pipe production process is as follows: a round cast billet enters the hot rolling line, where it is cut, heated, stitched and rolled to obtain a pipe of the required length and wall thickness.

2. The heart of KSP Steel's pipe-rolling production is a technological complex designed by Danieli, one of the world's leading suppliers of equipment for the metallurgical industry.

3. This is a continuously cast round billet. Diameter from 150 to 300 mm, length 5-12 meters. Produced according to OST-14-21-77. It is from these blanks that steel seamless pipes are made.

hot rolling line

The hot rolling line is designed to convert a cast billet into a hollow billet with a certain diameter and wall thickness. Pipe diameters produced on line range from 2.3/8” (60.3 mm) to 13.5/8” (346.1 mm).

4. First, the workpiece is placed in a rotary heating furnace, where it is evenly heated to a temperature of 1280 °C.

5. After that, the conveyor moves the heated head to the rolling complex, which consists of several stages.

6. First, the piercing mill with conical rolls pierces the solid workpiece into the hollow workpiece, forming a sleeve.

7. Then, a continuous hot pipe mill on a retained mandrel with six stands forms, using a mandrel placed inside the sleeve, the wall thickness for the future pipe.

8. After the future pipe enters the reheating furnace, which equalizes the temperature of the pipe at 900 ° C, which makes it possible to obtain a more uniform steel microstructure.

9. At the next stage, the pipe enters the reduction mill, where it is rolled to the final diameter and wall thickness.

10. The mill consists of 24 three-roll stands. The last three stands have adjustable rolls to achieve, with the same nominal diameter, a range of outside diameter tolerances for different specifications.

11. Then the pipes produced are delivered to the cooling table. Then they move to the pipe cutting system, where they are cut to the required length.

Control systems based on laser technology are installed along the entire hot rolling line, both for monitoring the equipment and for measuring the diameter and wall thickness of the rolled and finished pipe. At the end of the line, the pipe undergoes process control at a non-destructive testing facility.

Heat treatment, quality control and finishing lines

12. The pipe end upsetting line is designed for pipes with a diameter ranging from 2.3/8” (60.3mm) to 5.1/2” (139.7mm).

13. Upsetting is performed when reinforcement of the threaded part of the pipe is required in accordance with the expected dynamic stress during its operation.

14. Hardening is carried out in a hot state by upsetting the ends of the pipe to obtain a short part of the ends of the pipe with a thickening.
