There are autumn jackets made of 100 polyester. Insulation in clothes

Once upon a time, children's overalls were sewn exclusively from raincoat fabric and synthetic winterizer. But experience has shown that jackets and overalls made of dense synthetic winterizer quickly become unusable: they crumple when washed, do not warm, and the body in them, as a tourist or athlete wants, does not breathe, but fogs up. The synthetic winterizer does not conduct air well and poorly retains heat.

The synthetic winterizer was replaced by: holofiber, tinsulate, fibertec ... What to prefer?

The advantage of synthetic insulation is that they are hypoallergenic, microorganisms (mites, etc.) do not start in them, and clothes with various “fibers” (“fiber” is translated as “fiber”) inside keep their shape better, do not deform from washing, keeps heat in and keeps cold air out.

So, let's deal with heaters, without going into highly scientific jungle.

First rule

When you see a new, unfamiliar name, do not rush!
The manufacturer, in an effort to capture the attention of the consumer, comes up with his own (trade) names for heaters.

Look at the label on your jacket or overalls. Do not be surprised if you see the inscription: "insulation - polyester 100%". And where, you understand, is the very “fiberskin”, or “polyfiber”?

Almost any synthetic insulation consists of polyester fibers. Thus, on the label you will read what the material for insulation is made of, and more detailed instructions or a sales assistant should tell you what the name of the insulation itself is, what technology it is made of, and what this technology gives. Products of reputable firms have a special booklet, where all materials are described in detail and their qualities are indicated.

Second rule

In children's colds, 80% is not to blame for immunity, but for parents who do not know how to dress a child. For example, a baby who often suffers from colds should never be wrapped up, and it is absolutely forbidden to wear thick hats and tie tight scarves.

Not a single seller will be able to explain to you whether your child will freeze in just such clothes. All synthetic fillers of the new generation work on the same principle: they retain heat well. Look for (ask) index allowable temperature(up to -10° or up to -40°).

Third rule

Remember that it is not the insulation that heats, but the air in its cavities. The lighter the fibers, the more cavities inside, the lower the temperature at which these garments can be used. The best thermal insulator is air.

On the label of a real down jacket should be written "down". This means that inside there is exactly down - eiderdown, swan or goose. 100% "down" is quite rare. Most often, feathers are added to it and they write “feather”. If the label says "cotton" - in front of you is not a down jacket, but just a jacket with a lining. The inscription "wool" indicates that there is woolen batting inside this jacket, and the word "polyester" or "waltern" denotes a synthetic winterizer or its modern varieties.

TYPES OF INSULATION

Sintepon

The synthetic winterizer is divided into two types: old (dense) and new (hollow). Both are made from polyester fibers. The fibers are bonded together thermally. Previously, the synthetic winterizer was laid in parallel layers. Because of this, he had very low rates of heat conservation and moisture conductivity. Now a dense synthetic winterizer (thick, adhesive) is used only in cheap products. In the new padding polyester, the fibers are not glued, but rather hold each other with silicone needles. Such insulation is more durable, does not lose its shape. But still, the synthetic winterizer continues to yield to modern inventions. After exposure to sweat and washing, it loses up to half the thickness. And for cold winter it is not suitable - maximum, for temperatures up to -10 °. Care: wash at30°C using only soft powders that do not contain bleach; do not soak or bleach.
Thinsulate

Considered one of the best heaters on the this moment, according to its heat-saving properties is equal to fluff. Consisting of very fine fibers that perfectly retain heat, overalls and jackets on tinsulate are light, thin and warm. It does not deform when washed, it is able to warm in severe frosts, provided that the person is moving, preferably actively. Clothes on tinsulate are sewn for athletes, oil workers, climbers. Usually clothes on tinsulate are not cheap. Permissible temperature regime for thinsulate: up to -30 °. Care: machine wash at 40°.

Holofiber, fiberskin, firetech, polyfiber, isosoft...

Synthetic insulation made from fibers shaped like balls, springs, etc. Balls, spirals or springs do not communicate with each other and contain cavities, so the product keeps its shape well. For a small price, you buy a good jumpsuit that can withstand frosts down to -25 °.Care: machine wash at 40°.

Kerry - children's overalls on polyester (isosoft).

NATURAL INSULATION

goose down

Corypheus among heaters. Lightweight, durable, withstands severe frosts, restores shape after crushing. fluff waterfowl has a natural lubrication, it does not allow moisture to be absorbed. The best down: eiderdown, then goose down. Duck down clothing is the cheapest and is not intended for frost. A properly sewn and lined with natural down thing weighs no more than half a kilogram and, when folded, can easily fit into a standard plastic bag. Unfortunately, down is a highly allergenic material, an ideal breeding ground for mites. Down clothes take a long time to dry. If you buy a down overalls (envelope) for our Ural winter (not for moving to the north) - remember that an active child on the street will definitely be hot in it at temperatures above -15 °.

Care: so that the product retains its appearance, less often resort to a complete wash of the product. We recommend washing in a soft mode, with a detergent without bleach at a temperature of 30 °. Machine washable. After washing, dry immediately and “break” pockets with fluff so that it does not fall off. Can't be ironed. Only tumble dry for a few hours is recommended. low temperatures.

Wool

Or, the so-called sheepskin. Very durable, wear-resistant material. Microbes do not like wool, so it is considered a hypoallergenic insulation. Excellent heat retention down to -25°. It happens that the overalls are equipped with a removable liner made of sheep's wool, which is convenient for suspicious parents who think that the child is cold. The liner allows you to turn the jumpsuit into a demi-season option. Sheepskin overalls, due to their considerable weight, are now produced mainly only for children under one year old.

Care: Sheepskin clothing can be deformed from washing, so it is better to take it to dry cleaning.

As a conclusion:

Membrane overalls have become popular now. If you hear about these, know that this is a jumpsuit with good insulation, the top of which is covered with thin ma membrane that protects against any moisture and allows air to enter.

Overalls are considered universal with a filler "polyester", and with inserts made of Cordura fabric and Teflon impregnation. (This is just about Kerry's clothes: polyester, teflon, cordura). Benefits of synthetic we have already considered heaters, it remains to be explained that Cordura is a durable waterproof fabric (it is inserted into those places that suffer during falls - knees, ass, elbows), and Teflon® is a treatment for the same fiberskin so that the overalls do not get wet under the snow, not in the rain.

In general, the choice is yours. Remember that you buy children's winter overalls not for yourself, but for a baby who should be comfortable in his favorite hiking outfit.

based on site materials

Discovered at the beginning of the 20th century, polyester filled the market for goods for various purposes. In the textile industry, polyester material makes up more than half of the fabrics.

The finest fibers intertwine, create threads various shapes: round, triangular, square. Get a lot of textured fabrics with the best properties, analogues of natural ones. For insulation among them a special place is reserved.

About 100% polyester insulation

Often in the store there is a question, what kind of insulation is 100% polyester. It is a non-woven fabric made from polyester fibers. Each manufacturer works according to its own technology and creates its own fabric, which differs from others in its ability to store heat, endure machine washing and wear resistance. AT pure form It is rare to find real polyester. Do not believe the labels and tags on the purchased clothing and products. It is mainly combined with other fibers:

  • Cotton - 65%. The resulting fabric acquires durability when worn, is not affected solar radiation, does not wrinkle;
  • Viscose - 30%. The most popular option. The material is not deformed, does not fade;
  • Polyamide. It becomes resistant to temperature, does not allow moisture to pass through, receives additional elasticity;
  • Spandex. Interacting with polyester, it acquires an airtight and stable structure;
  • Yarn. There is a higher quality of finished products. They do not stretch, do not wrinkle and are worn for a long time.

The use of synthetic fiber is presented in a wide range of products: sports suits, curtains, hosiery, jackets. It is absolutely safe, does not absorb moisture and has heat resistance.

100% polyester insulation is found on the ready-made clothing market - this is:

  • holofiber;
  • synthetic winterizer;
  • fleece;
  • polartec;
  • holofan;
  • thermofinn;
  • junsen;
  • isosoft.

All materials are made entirely of polyester. Additionally, in special clothing, heaters are used, designed for special conditions and low temperatures:

  • thinsulate Americans have developed for astronauts;
  • termium has a base made of aluminum film with fibers woven into it;
  • The jopfil is designed for workwear.

Synthetic insulation material, regardless of the method of production, does not cause allergies. It is completely synthetic, which means that the moth will not spoil it.

Polyester fiber goes through a complex cleaning process. The quality and safety of the finished product depends on compliance with the technology. The seller may charge a high price. In order not to be deceived, the insulation material and fabric must be wrinkled and smelled. Low quality will give out a sour smell and feel of fiberglass in the hand.

The first insulation - synthetic winterizer

Material from 100% polyester, synthetic winterizer, divide:

  • old;
  • new.

The old ones include a material consisting of 2 or more layers of fibers directed in the same plane. It is recommended to wear it in the off-season, in cold weather no more than 5 degrees below zero. The bond between the polyester threads is weak. The insulation wears out quickly, begins to roll and break through the upper material.

In the new 100% polyester synthetic winterizer, the insulation has an air gap and thermally bonded fibers. It is lighter in weight, retains heat well, and is worn for a long time.

Advanced polyester insulation a large number of advantages over its predecessor.

After washing, up to 50% of the thickness is still lost.

Advantages of a synthetic winterizer

  • spring durable fiber structure;
  • light weight;
  • heat preservation at external temperature up to -25 °C;
  • does not pass moisture, air;
  • washing at 30 °C, does not require additional heat treatment;
  • dries quickly;
  • does not deform.

Such a heater will retain the appearance of clothing, its primary color and structure for a long time. This is especially important in winter period. In windy and frosty weather, it will reliably protect against hypothermia and warm.

The lack of synthetic winterizer

  • cannot be machine washed;
  • it is contraindicated to twist;
  • temperature up to 40 degrees;
  • dry vertically.

Polyester insulation - synthetic winterizer, manufacturers use when sewing inexpensive clothes.

The second insulation is holofiber

Polyester nonwoven fabric designed Russian specialists. The hollow inside material holds heat well and does not wrinkle. Between the two outer layers, the fibers are arranged perpendicular to the surface or twisted into balls.

A distinctive feature of the insulation, its ability to create optimal conditions for a person. Excess moisture comes out through the loose surface. Heat is retained. The body does not freeze and does not sweat.

Holofiber insulation is allowed for sewing children's clothes. It is used to make clothes for winter sports. It is completely safe even for people prone to allergies. The characteristics are similar to the natural fluff of birds. It tolerates machine washing on a gentle cycle. Things made of 100% polyester are worn for a long time and retain their appearance.

It turns out that holofiber and comforel are about the same thing. Polyester fiber, after special processing, is crumpled into small balls of about 5 mm in diameter. This type of filler is called holofiber on English language and lomforel in French. In terms of quality, this material is superior to synthetic winterizer, but still inferior to thinsulate.

The third is isosoft, holofan, tinsulate and others

Foreign manufacturers call polyester insulation differently. The material they produce differs mainly in the shape of the fibers inside the web.

Hollofan got its name from a combination of the words in English: "hollow" and the name of the company "Fanema". The void is filled with polyester fibers twisted into springs.

Belgian isosoft contains hollow fiber balls inside. Produced by Libeltex.

Both heaters are similar in quality to holofiber. Much warmer and stronger than synthetic winterizer.

Other heaters can be supplemented with hollow and bicomponent fiber. Have a different structure and technology for bonding fibers with acrylic glue and other substances. Their cost is higher. Less common in the store.

Polyester is widely used. The world leader in its production is Fellex, which operates at the Ziran plant in China.

Thinsulate - artificial down. There is a legend that it was originally conceived for use in space. In any case, it is much better than synthetic winterizer. Perfectly retains its shape after washing, warms in severe frosts (up to -30 °), the products are very light. Does not cause allergies. Athletes, climbers, oil workers use clothes made from this material.

The fiber in this insulation has the shape of a spiral. Air is collected inside this spiral, which retains heat.

More about fellex material 100%

The filler of this type has a variety of shapes, are made in the form of balls, a solid web.

A distinctive feature of the material is that the layers of insulation are fused using high temperatures. fellex insulation 100% polyester (120, 220, 250, 300 g/m²) different high level wear resistance and does not require additional special care.

How warm is it in clothes with fellex filling?

The peculiarity of outerwear is its lightness, the manufacturing process of fellex insulation, which includes 100% polyester 250 g m², differs from the production of synthetic winterizer. The material does not contain an adhesive base that holds the fabric together, so the insulation does not roll off during wear, quickly taking on its original shape.

This is a light and thin filler, it warms well in severe frosts, retaining heat inside the lining.

Insulation from the fellex company is an excellent replacement for natural filler, only its cost is much lower. Due to its advantages, this material has become widespread among manufacturers of winter jackets for both adults and children.

Its lightness provides comfort when wearing clothes, and ease of care and long service life do not burden the housewives with additional problems.

Insulation for winter clothes

Holofiber SOFT. Lightweight, flexible and heat-resistant material. Even in frosty weather and a temperature of -25 ° C, it will retain heat and protect against hypothermia.

thinsulate. Its structure resembles natural fluff. New technologies allow it not to lose its shape, repel moisture and participate in heat transfer. Perfectly warms at -30 °C.

Belarusian Firetech. Hypoallergenic, lightweight and durable. Temperature fluctuations down to -40 °C. Ideal Solution for long walks in the fresh air.

American brand PrimaLoft. The basis for the creation was the imitation of the characteristics of down, but with an improved structure and use of fiber. This type is designed specifically for active rest and winter views sports, provided that the temperature does not reach -20 ° C.

Belgian Isosoft. The presence of a double spunbond fabric gives additional density and lightness to the filler. Opportunities are limited to a temperature of -20 ° C.

Advantages of clothing insulation:

  • withstands temperatures up to -25 degrees;
  • easy to wash and straighten after washing;
  • does not lose shape, regardless of the number of washes;
  • There is no allergy to polyester. It is completely safe for the skin, the only limitation is that it is better not to wear this material on bare skin for pregnant women;
  • clothes with polyester insulation can be worn not only in winter, but also in spring and autumn. This quality significantly distinguishes polyester from other heaters, because versatility is always good;
  • polyester clothing is very light, but warms several times better than jackets made of natural fillers;
  • durable;
  • does not require special care. Most jackets made from natural fillers require special care from time to time with expensive products. With a polyester jacket, there will be no such problem;
  • does not cause excessive sweating. Thermal underwear is made of polyester, therefore, it perfectly retains heat;
  • wear resistance, polyester can last for a sufficiently long period without losing its important thermal insulation properties;
  • thanks to the manufacturing method, the material is not electrified and quickly restores its shape;
  • the characteristics of the thermal insulation of the material are identical to those of natural materials;
  • the cost of jackets with such a filler is much lower than analogues with natural insulation.

Flaws

  • It is not recommended to use chemical bleaches;
  • When buying products that are too cheap, it is worth remembering that polyester fiber can cause an allergic reaction;
  • Slight stiffness of the material;
  • Electrification. Synthetic fibers accumulate static electricity. Easily removed with an antistatic agent.

Polyester: proper care and washing

Even though polyester material is so versatile and so practical, it has a number of disadvantages that should be taken into account. Not subject to long wear, can cause allergies, has poor heat conductivity. Polyester, as a heater in clothes and a fabric for sewing it, also needs special care:

  • hand wash at a temperature not exceeding 40 ° C;
  • machine wash. AT washing machine type "automatic", you must select the "Delicate" or "Hand" wash. The temperature must not exceed 40 °C. Choose a spin of about 800 revolutions so as not to spoil the thing. Use softening conditioner;
  • clothes that are too soiled will require pre-treatment with a stain remover and soaking;
  • Dry only in a well-ventilated area. Avoid direct sunlight on the fabric;
  • ironing only in the "Silk" mode.

Polyester material is strictly forbidden to process high temperatures, boil. Otherwise, the tissue structure may be disturbed and the product may be deformed.

Manufacturers offer a wide choice not only in models and sizes, but also in technical specifications. This makes it possible to choose outerwear in accordance with the season and temperature conditions, for each temperature there is a certain amount of filler in clothes. For example, clothes with a density of 40-70 g / sq.m. are suitable up to 0 °. m. Jacket with a density of 100-150 g / sq. m. will warm up to -10 °, and frost up to -40 ° will withstand a density indicator of 200–300 g / sq. m. m.

Synthetic fillers have a number of advantages over natural counterparts. They are lighter, easier to maintain and durable. The ability to retain the amount of heat needed to maintain comfort is an important criterion for choosing clothing with polyester insulation.

It is worth considering that clothes with synthetic fillers can have different variations of styles. This makes winter clothes more elegant and sophisticated.

Insulated children's suits or similar clothing for adults are made using a variety of natural and synthetic materials. It is not only about fabric, but also about heaters.

The most effective insulation is high-quality fluff. But production technology thermal insulation materials from 100% polyester are constantly being improved, new materials are increasingly replacing traditional ones.

The advantage of good insulation is that it does not let hot air out from under clothes and cold air under clothes. This is achieved by the presence of a significant air gap between the fibers.

Pooh and others natural materials have a good structure for thermal protection, while it is not so easy to achieve a similar effect from 100% polyester. This was the main problem with the use of synthetic materials as a heater. Now many manufacturers have found quite effective approaches to solving the issue.

Features 100% polyester

The skeptical perception of 100% polyester as a heater is justified, but these reasons can rather be attributed to the consequences of past experience. So what kind of weather, before, many companies, especially enterprises from the USSR, produced insulation that had a rather high density, caked, wrinkled, could not withstand washing and long-term operation. Naturally, such material could not fulfill its purpose properly.

Currently, polyester insulation is produced not from straight threads, but from fibers rolled into tubes, into spirals and into other stable spatial structures. When worn and washed, modern polyester does not lose its shape and properties. This is enough for the material to have a low density and have excellent thermal insulation characteristics.

What kind of weather can 100% be used for? Not too favorable in terms of temperature.

Polyester has acquired various trade names during its use, which you should know in order to understand how to use clothes with such insulation. Below is a list of the most popular brands:

  • thinsulate;
  • fiberskin;
  • holofiber;
  • polyfiber;
  • isosoft;
  • firetech.

Application of 100% polyester from various manufacturers

Thinsulate(Thinsulate). This is one of the highest quality polyester insulation, almost as good as down.

A very light and thin material that has all the positive qualities of natural fluff, but is devoid of its shortcomings. Thinsulate consists of microscopic fibers surrounded by an air gap. Clothing with this filler is thin, light, breathable, very warm.

Washes well and doesn't lose shape. The material is used for tailoring climbing overalls and sleeping bags, as well as for clothing for oilmen and polar explorers working in the harsh conditions of the north. Density from 480 g/m2 will provide comfort in very severe frosts down to -60 degrees.

The spatial structure of the material, its stability allows you to retain heat even at very low temperatures. Even in clothes with a fairly thin layer of insulation, you can safely go outside at a temperature of -30 ° C. We are talking, among other things, about children's clothing.

To assess the quality level of thinsulate, it is enough to know that it is used in tailoring clothes for oil workers, sailors, climbers and people of other extreme professions. But overalls and jackets with such insulation are quite expensive.

holofiber- non-woven fiber in the form of balls or spirals, also found in the form of a plate. Manufactured by sintering high temperature. It has high thermal conductivity, low cost, restores shape after strong compression. For a warm autumn, a density of 70 g / m2 is suitable, for a cold one - 150, for frost up to -30 degrees - 300 gr. per m2. Hollofiber derivatives are holofan, fibertek, thermophile, etc.

What weather to wear a jacket in which the insulation is 100% polyester of the indicated brands? It is quite comfortable and safe in terms of the possibility of hypothermia, you can feel at temperatures up to -25 ° C. At the same time, the cost of clothing with these types of polyester as a heater is relatively low.

Regular polyester. It is often difficult to determine the manufacturer of the insulation, as well as the characteristics of the material. If there are such doubts, it is not recommended to go out in clothes with such “fluff” at temperatures below -10 ° C.

Sintepon- material in which the fibers are not glued together - hold on to each other with silicone needles. Differs in low cost, is used when tailoring various jackets, other products. Frequent washing leads to a loss of original elasticity, reducing thermal conductivity. May have a density of 50 to 600 g/m2.

Often, manufacturers use several layers of padding fabric to provide the necessary density. A filler of 250 g/m2 is suitable for a demi-season coat designed for temperatures down to -5. Winter jackets in frost -25 are filled with padding polyester with a density of at least 350 gr. There are several improved filler modifications that have good durability (U-two, Freudenberg).

Sintepukh- fiber produced in a special way, allowing its particles not to stick together, successfully imitating natural fluff. It has high wear resistance, dries quickly, does not wrinkle. Sintepukh with a density of 250 g/m2 can withstand frost down to -25, for light spring jackets designed for +5, 60 g/m2 is enough.

Isosoft (isosoft)Branded insulation, in which fibers in the form of balls are sealed between two surfaces. Manufactured by Libeltex. The design does not let cold air into the clothes, reliably retains heat. Easy to wash, dries quickly, does not lose shape. Quite thin, does not make the down jacket voluminous. In combination with a membrane, it withstands low temperatures down to -30 degrees at a density of 200 gr. per m2.

Grams and temperature

The amount of 100% polyester in grams in children's overalls often determines at what minimum temperatures such clothing can be worn. Naturally, it all depends on and on the quality of the insulation, but the weight indicator is sometimes a good guideline. For example, for a one-year-old baby, overalls with 80-100 grams of synthetic insulation are suitable for outdoor temperature from +5°С to -5°С. In order not to be afraid of hypothermia at lower temperatures, you should wear overalls containing 180 or 250-330 grams of insulation.

It is also impossible to indicate clear boundaries for the weight indicator due to the individual characteristics of the child (or adult). Someone tolerates frosts more easily, someone more difficult. In addition, much depends on the quantity and quality of clothing worn under the overalls. How to choose the right insulation for a certain weather.

A sales assistant in a reputable commercial establishment will definitely tell you about the thermal insulation properties of a particular 100% polyester in a particular piece of clothing. The main thing is not to forget to ask about it. Informative are the materials from the manufacturer. On the websites of self-respecting companies, there is sure to be detailed information about the properties of the insulation. It is especially relevant also for the reason that new, more advanced materials appear constantly.

What kind of weather polyester insulation 200, 250, 300, 350, 480 gr.?

When choosing clothes with synthetic insulation, be guided by weather, specific to your latitude. Necessary information about stuffing a down jacket or jacket, you can ask the seller or read on the label. Some types of fillers can be identified by touch - synthetic winterizer, synthetic winterizer, holofiber, in other cases you will have to believe the inscriptions.

For winter in the European part of Russia, you can safely buy a jacket with synthetic padding with a density of 200, 250, 300, 350 g/m2. It is better for Siberians and residents of the Far North to purchase a down jacket with polyester insulation 480 gr. (density per square meter).

Give preference to new materials, such as Thinsulate or its analogues - Polarguard, Quallowfill, etc. Clothing with such fillers serves for a long time and reliably protects from the cold.

Temperature characteristics - holofiber, isosoft, holofan, thermofin, tinsulate

Made from pure polyester different kinds insulating materials. Temperature characteristics of some of them:

  • holofiber. It has high wear resistance, therefore, does not lose thermal insulation properties for a long time. Its warmth retention characteristics are comparable to those of natural down. A winter jacket made with holofiber is suitable for temperatures down to -30 0 C. Wind gusts up to 15 are also quite comfortable.
  • Isosoft. Despite the small volume, it has excellent thermal insulation performance. This material is 3-4 times warmer than synthetic winterizer. It is soft and elastic, has increased wear resistance, good breathability, but at the same time is able to provide warmth. Due to its characteristics, even a relatively thin layer of isosoft helps not to freeze at low temperatures. It is convenient that the use of this insulation is suitable for both winter and demi-season clothing. So, up to what temperature is it recommended to use isosoft of various densities:
    1. at a density of 200-300 g / m 2 - severe winter colds up to -35 0 С;
    2. at 100-150 g / m 2 - mild winters down to -10 0 С or cold months of spring and autumn;
    3. at 40-80 g / m 2 - if not lower than 0 0 C, it will be quite comfortable.

The heat-preserving properties of isosoft can be easily increased by adding an additional detail. For example, it can be a fleece sweater. Thus, a demi-season jacket with isosoft can be used if it gets colder, and there was simply no warmer outerwear with you.

  • holofan. Products with holofan retain heat and "breathe". The fabric is lightweight and durable, does not absorb moisture, so it is comfortable in wet and snowy weather. For spring-autumn jackets, the density of holofan is 150 g / m2, for winter clothes- 250 g / m 2.
  • Thermofinn . It has excellent thermal insulation performance, is resistant to moisture, and is environmentally friendly. With a density of insulation of only 100 g / m 2, in frost -15 0 it will not be cold. 200 g / m 2 cope with frosts down to -30 0 C. And two layers from 100 to 150 g / m 2 provide frost resistance up to -45 0 C.
  • Thinsulate. It is used for the manufacture of warm clothes and shoes. It has the highest thermal insulation characteristics with low weight. Thinsulate is lighter than all existing analogues of polyester insulation, but at the same time warmer than natural fluff. Using this material, clothes are produced that are resistant to frost down to -60 0 C. In addition, the product does not lose its properties even in a humid environment. Previously, thinsulate was not found in mass production. It was used only in narrow areas of activity, such as tailoring for astronauts.

It can be concluded that polyester can withstand very low temperature conditions. However, the 100% polyester insulation to which temperature the indicator can drop depends not only on the material used. The physical features of a person are essential.

To summarize, is 100% polyester insulation up to what temperature is it comfortable? Someone at -25 0 C is warm enough, and someone, at the same temperature and in the same clothes, feels cold. Physical activity or a relaxed state is also important for thermal sensations. It is worth paying attention to weather conditions, in addition to thermometer readings: humidity, wind, sun.

Criteria for choosing clothes with polyester insulation

First rule good shopping consists in a careful and thoughtful reading of the labels about the materials used when sewing this product. They usually indicate the raw materials used to produce the material of the outer fabric, lining and insulation. All the original names of the heaters used are most often 100% polyester, which takes on various forms subject to certain technological processes.

The following rule requires consultation with the seller about the type of outerwear, and what temperature it is designed for. Clarifying information will help you navigate in a wide range.

And last rule that needs to be remembered is what warms not polyester, but an air layer. The more free space between the fibrous structure, the lower the temperature threshold and the better the energy saving. A thing that meets all of the above criteria will be capable of long-term service.

Temperature conditions of various heaters in clothes

Synthetic filler is produced in two types: with high density and low. Both types are made from polyester fibers. The differences between them are only in production technology. A dense synthetic winterizer is laid in parallel and fastened with an adhesive layer, unpretentious and has a low cost. The technology for the production of hollow synthetic winterizer is characterized by bonding with silicone threads. The temperature indicators of both types are quite low and can withstand at least -10 ° C.

Although it is preferable to purchase a synthetic winterizer with a low density, as it is more energy-saving. Products with such a filler must be washed at 30 ° C without bleach.

Thinsulate passes even harsh tests of frost, at this stage of technological progress is the most versatile. Possessing the highest energy-saving properties, it is equated to down. The thinnest fibers allow you to keep warm even at -30 ° C, while being quite light and warm.

After numerous washes, it returns to its original appearance, warming in extreme cold. When buying such a product, you should clarify to what temperature children's clothes made of thinsulate retain heat. Thinsulate products are made to order for climbers, athletes or oil workers who need mobility in their movements. Suitable for machine wash at 40°C and spin.

Polyfiber insulation produced according to the latest technologies having the form of hollow springs, balls. This method allows you to maintain the ideal shape of the product due to the existing cavities in the overall structure. Winter clothing with this type of filler can withstand temperatures down to -25°C.

Due to its cheapness, it is possible to save money, while remaining warm. All currently known polyfiber heaters have almost the same properties that do not require special care. Of course, it is advisable to choose clothes, especially for a child, from hypoallergenic materials that freely let in outside air, but at the same time keep warm.

The polyester membrane is welded or glued onto inner part top fabric. A similar effect can be achieved by impregnating the material with a special moisture-protecting substance.

Such clothing, contrary to existing opinions, is unsuitable for sports or climbing, as it does not retain heat well and allows strong rain to pass through.

The structure of the membrane with the smallest pores passes air well, retaining moisture. It is not recommended to walk in such clothes in frosts below -15 ° C, and it makes no sense for children sitting in a stroller to purchase this type of overalls. When buying such a product, it is necessary that it be supplemented with a hollow insulation.
