What washes Vietnam Nha Trang. What is the sea in Vietnam? Magnificent! Video: Nha Trang beaches

One of the most popular questions among those who are going on vacation to the country of triangular hats, seafood and motorbikes: is there an ocean or a sea in Vietnam?

One glance at the map is enough and it becomes clear - the sea. The sea is large enough in area and deep, but still not an ocean. Be that as it may, the seas are also different, so let's take a closer look at what kind of sea is in Vietnam, what is special about it and what surprises can be expected.

A moment of geography

Let's start with the fact that Vietnam has a sea and it's great. But, in order. So, the sea in Vietnam is called South China. This is a semi-enclosed sea, so it still has a certain connection with the ocean. More precisely, even with two: Indian and Pacific. The sea temperature in summer is approximately the same in all its parts - about 28 degrees. In winter, it varies, depending on the region: from 20 degrees in the north to 27 in the south. Max Depth- more than 5.5 km, which is quite a lot for the sea. In the South China Sea, very noticeable tides occur - about 4-5 meters. By the way, in Nha Trang in summer this is especially noticeable, especially on the northern beach, where the water leaves, sometimes exposing tens of meters of the bottom. Locals take advantage of the moment and collect numerous mollusks in corals and between stones. By the way, they are quite edible.

As you can see, the waters of the South China Sea wash the shores of several other countries.

Typhoons

We don’t want to scare you, but typhoons still happen and they come to Vietnam just along the South China Sea. Most of them are formed in the Philippines. Of course, not all of them are powerful and most either weaken off the coast of Vietnam or bypass them. But even those that get there often bypass Nha Trang and cause inconvenience, rather, to the northern regions of the country. In extremely rare cases, our beloved Nha Trang feels the power of the elements. So, for example, the last powerful typhoon here was on November 4, 2017. He was given the name "Damri". Here he really made a rustle in the city and was truly palpable. True, such cataclysms happen no more than a couple of times a century, so you should not be afraid. In addition, Vietnam has long ceased to be a third world country. Long before any typhoon, everyone locals and tourists are aware of its approach and strength. New residential buildings and hotels are ready to withstand the strongest winds, so there really is nothing to be afraid of. The main thing at this time is not to walk the streets (although such extreme sports are also found). Strong winds, like high waves in the South China Sea, you can expect at the end of autumn - in winter. In general, Vietnam has prepared a calm and warm sea for you.

One of the streets in the north of Nha Trang after a powerful typhoon in 2017

Waves

As you can imagine, in season strong winds, the waves are also significant. On the central beach of Nha Trang, for example, on some days of winter they can reach 3-4 meters. Swimming on such days, of course, is prohibited, as it is simply dangerous. And, frankly, you probably don't want to go into the water. But to stand on the beach and admire the power of the elements is worth it. There are, however, a couple of places where you can relax in the high wave season. Firstly, this is the Paragon beach, which is located on the territory cottage village An Wen. This is a beach with an artificial breakwater, so the sea is always calm here.

Paragon is a small beach, but quiet and cozy. Ideal for family people

Secondly, between Nha Trang and Cam Ranh Airport there is a beautiful semi-wild Bai Zai beach (aka Bai Dai). During the wave season, surfers spend time here. The fact is that the topography of the bottom of this beach contributes to the formation of high waves. At the same time, riding here is quite safe, because the bottom is sandy, without reefs and stones. By the way, that is why they teach surfing on Bai Zai. The sea in Mui Ne does something similar. During the rainy season, this is generally a paradise for kite surfing.

Something similar happens in Mui Ne during the windy season.

If we talk about the sea in Vietnam in July and others summer months it is quiet, clean and very warm. In general, lovers of snorkeling will appreciate it.

Purity

To begin with, we note that we will talk about the purity of the South China Sea just off the coast of Vietnam. So, in different seasons the water is different. In the wave season mentioned above, of course, the water is muddy, as the waves raise sand from the bottom. And with the rain comes a lot of turbidity. In summer, the water is as clear as possible. Especially in less crowded places. For example, remote corners of the same Bai Zai, where tourists can boast of crystal clear clean water. The same situation is with the famous Zoklet Beach. If we talk about the islands, then there are generally places where the color and transparency of the water is amazing. In this case, there is, so to speak, an intermediate option. For example, the sea in Vietnam in May is already quite warm and clean, but you can still feel the echoes of the wave season. So it turns out both fun and beautiful. We are talking about Nha Trang, as you understand.

There are a lot of such picturesque places with rocks and clear water in the vicinity of Nha Trang

In Fukuoka, for example, there are still noticeably fewer tourists than in Nha Trang, so the water is cleaner here. In fact, the formula for success is quite simple - the fewer tourists, rivers, ports and other similar factors nearby, the clearer and cleaner the water. In general, in most places South Vietnam the sea is quite clean and quite suitable for comfortable rest. In addition, Vietnam is still full wild places with stunning nature and crystal clear sea. Still, the country is only gaining momentum as a tourist paradise.

living creatures

This is where the fun begins. To listen to most Internet resources, it turns out that the sea of Vietnam is literally teeming with all kinds of poisonous reptiles, killer sharks, dinosaurs and maniac octopuses. In reality, things are somewhat different. Yes, the flora and fauna of the South China Sea is really rich. There are thousands of fish species here alone. Among them, of course, there are a dozen or two varieties of sharks. However, do not think that they are all sleeping and see how to attack a tourist. Also, "found in the South China Sea" does not mean "off the coast of Vietnam." If you are talking about Nha Trang, then it is generally difficult to meet dangerous animals here. The last shark was seen near the shore ten years ago, and then in a local fisherman's boat. And so these big marine predators went to the open sea, as they are mercilessly caught by fish. Here, rather, we need to talk about the danger of a person for sharks, rather than vice versa.

These "sharks" are found in great abundance in the waters near Nha Trang

As for the aforementioned poisonous reptiles, only jellyfish can be found in Nha Trang. And then only the sea in Vietnam in June can “boast” with this feature. deadly dangerous species these unusual animals are not observed in Nha Trang and its environs. However, those that are can be quite unpleasant. The burn of a jellyfish causes an unpleasant itch, but in principle it is not dangerous for a person. Place the burn enough to pour lime juice or vinegar. And, of course, you can go to the nearest hospital. Although most tourists do not do this, but simply continue to relax. The Vietnamese solve this issue even easier - they just bathe in shorts and T-shirts. They do this, first of all, so as not to burn out in the sun, but such a measure also protects against jellyfish.

Sometimes such monsters swim into the waters of Nha Trang

In general, Vietnam and Nha Trang in particular are completely safe for beach holiday. the season of jellyfish in Vietnam can be conditionally stretched into summer and spring. Get to know the diversity underwater world you can in any diving center. There are, by the way, very interesting places for diving, but we will talk about this in another article.

dangers

In fact, the South China Sea is quite dangerous. However, this applies only to sailors. As we have already said, typhoons are not uncommon here, which is a big problem for shipping. If we are talking about a beach holiday in Vietnam, then the situation is the opposite. High waves in winter can pose a real threat to vacationers (swimming is prohibited), as well as reverse flow. The latter in the vicinity of Nha Trang is found only on Bai Zai beach, and even then it is rare. The essence of this phenomenon is that you are beginning to be pulled quite strongly into the open sea. It is almost impossible to fight him, but there is a way out. Firstly, such a current exists in a relatively small area of the sea (a couple of hundred meters). Its width is even less. Therefore, avoiding danger is very simple - swim along the coast. On Bai Zai you will have to swim literally 50 meters. So there is no particular danger here either. Just a small annoyance with a very low probability of occurrence.

In fairness, it is also worth saying that in Mui Ne, a case of burns by a jellyfish Portuguese boat was recorded. This is a more serious "personality". Her burns are very painful and in some cases can lead to bad consequences (especially for allergy sufferers). Therefore, if you decide to visit Mui Ne, this issue is worth exploring in more detail. At a minimum, find out if you have allergies.

This is what this unusual, but dangerous jellyfish looks like

Outcome

In general, this is all the information a tourist needs about the sea in Vietnam. Fix:

  • In Vietnam, the ocean or the sea? – Sea
  • Clean or dirty? – Pure
  • Dangerous or safe? – Safe
  • Fly or not? — fly

If you have any questions - ask them in the comments. We will gladly answer. Have a nice holiday.

Beach in Nha Trang, what is it like? It is long. The length of the beach is about 5 kilometers. Wide. Sunbathing tourists do not occupy the entire space. Pretty clean for a city. We like the beach in Nha Trang. On the first day, as soon as they saw him, immediately there was a desire to swim in the sea and lie down on the sand.

Nha Trang beach

The advantage of the beach is that it is surrounded by mountains and islands. It's nice to walk around and see such beauty from all sides. Sun loungers belong to hotels on the coast. But you can rent them if you want. This pleasure will cost about 100 thousand dongs ($ 5).

The tower in the photo is empty, but there is always a group of lifeguards on the beach. Vietnamese lifeguards walk along the beach and look after vacationers.

And the palm trees here are just the way I like them. Thin and tall

Where can I order a transfer from the airport?

We use the service - Kiwi Taxi
Ordered a taxi online, paid by card. We were greeted at the airport with a sign with our name on it. We were taken to the hotel in a comfortable car. You have already talked about your experience in this article.

Sea in Nha Trang: is it possible to swim?

Yes. According to our observations, the optimal time for swimming in Nha Trang is from 8 to 10 am. At this time, the water in the sea is perfectly clean and calm. See for yourself:

The sea in Nha Trang without waves can be found until about 10-11 am

The closer to evening, the more wave, and from this the water becomes cloudy and acquires a brown color. Also, by lunchtime, the current takes out the garbage, with which you don’t want to swim at all. After all, it is so unpleasant to touch something in the water when swimming, some bags or cups.

We are waiting for the weather by the sea

Perhaps the waves and the purity of the water in the sea depend on the season. In some months, it is quite possible that the water remains clear all day, but in September and October, the clear sea can only be found in the morning.

There are always fewer tourists in the far left corner of the beach (behind Nha Trang center) and in the far right (towards the cable car to Winpearl).

Who rests in Nha Trang

The contingent of vacationers on the beaches of Nha Trang consists mostly of Russian women 45-60 years old and their husbands. Interesting feature. The second line is occupied couples with children and, last but not least, young people. Nationalities: Russians 70%, Vietnamese 20%, Europeans, Chinese and other foreign tourists - 10%.

Our observations

For 2 months of living in Nha Trang, we noticed the following features of tourists. Mostly our compatriots who have flown in from Krasnoyarsk, Novosibirsk, Kemerovo, Chelyabinsk, Perm and other Siberian regions rest here. As a rule, ladies spend their holidays in Vietnam with their children, less often with their husbands. If with a husband, then he usually has a mustache, his face expresses slight displeasure, tense, constrained, dressed in a linen oversized wrinkled shirt and a captain's cap, always a little sloppy.

- For lunch we will take lobsters again, and then we will go to the pearl shop, which the guide recommended
- Don't forget the crocodile skin wallets!

- We'll tell Lyudka where we were - she won't believe it!

The Vietnamese go to the beach closer to 5-6 pm, when the sun stops baking and they can be calm about their skin color. They usually bathe in groups in front of the lifeguard post.

Vietnamese children are most often for some reason ill-mannered, arrogant and noisy, often get under their feet, stepping on them. For we have lost the habit of children's crying and screaming, in Vietnam, children are very capricious and naughty. It was also noticed more than once that the Vietnamese were beating them. This has not been seen in other Asian countries. And one boy was the star of the evening. Parents tried and cut his hair so fashionably that he was different from all children, passers-by could not pass by.

There are no stray bald dogs on the beach

Another advantage of the beach. For a month we have not seen a single stray dog on the beach, which is so accustomed to in other countries. The Vietnamese sometimes relax on the beach with their pets. As in Thailand, in Vietnam, purebred dogs are now in vogue. It is frustrating that the Vietnamese get themselves such small decorative dogs. More than once we observed how children-flayers behave with them. Apparently, they do not understand that a dog is a living organism, not a toy. Yes, and bikes, including on the sidewalks, can be a danger to a small dog.

Some caring owners keep their pets warm, because in October it is +27

Promenade along the beach in Nha Trang

The promenade plays a big role on Nha Chang beach. The embankment is our favorite place in all of Nha Trang because it is the only place where you can safely walk, since mopeds are prohibited on it.

The famous lotus in Nha Trang

Vietnamese flag on the square near the lotus

In the evenings, dances and chants are often arranged near the local house of culture.

During the day, the square is empty, and in the evening, Vietnamese teenagers change from bikes to skateboards and rollerblades

On the embankment, the atmosphere is relatively calm and there is no noise from the road.

View from the road

We come to the embankment every day. We walk, sit on benches or buy nuts and settle down on the sand.

Photo of the beach from the promenade

Just a few years ago, there was no smell of any ennobled embankment here. And now even the trees are trimmed by designer.

Vietnamese and sports

Toward evening, the Vietnamese occupy the embankment for sports. Look after your figure and health. Someone runs, someone works on simulators, someone just waves his arms with a serious look. Very athletic guys!

Vietnamese do sports

The embankment makes a great contribution to the life of the Vietnamese. This is a place to relax, a place to walk the dog, a place to train and a place where you can gather and eat while sitting on the beach. For us, the embankment has become a lifeline. The only place in Nha Trang where sometimes you don't even want to go home.

Nha Trang beach reviews

For our picky taste, the beach in Nha Trang is very good. It is clean, there is plenty of space, there are no annoying merchants. The sand, however, is not ideal, large and yellow. The water in the sea is clean and transparent only in the morning, by the afternoon garbage appears, the waves intensify and it becomes cloudy. But this is most likely a seasonal phenomenon, in other months it can be cleaner, and we were in September and October. So, they noted for themselves that it is best to swim in Nha Trang early in the morning.

Since Nha Trang beach is public, everyone will rest on it, tourists from expensive hotels, the local middle class, and even occasionally Russian cattle ("tagiil") comes across. Apparently, some highly cultured citizens got fed up with Turkey and headed for exotic Vietnam. But, I am glad that there are only a few of them, basically all our compatriots here are very decent.

Vietnam has long been considered one of the fashionable Asian holiday destinations. The famous Vietnamese resort, formerly a simple fishing village, during the time of Indochina began to turn into a fashionable place for taking sea baths.

Nha Trang is washed by the South China Sea, which can be called part of two oceans - Indian and Pacific. The sea in Nha Trang is one of the local attractions. People come here throughout the year different corners Land, because the South China Sea warms up well and is suitable for swimming in winter and summer.

Sea off the coast of Vietnam

Nha Trang offers its guests wide and long beaches, moderately salty sea, amazing beauty bays, embankments, along which palm trees stretched out in orderly rows, coral reefs with a variety of inhabitants, which are so interesting to watch.

Highlight high season difficult in Nha Trang. The climate here is such that the temperature of the air and water allows you to enjoy the sun and the sea at any time. In winter, the water temperature near the coast fluctuates at around 18-20 degrees, in summer it rises to 27 degrees.

low season, during which, nevertheless, there are no fewer tourists in the resort, one can name the period from the end of September to the beginning of January. At this time, rains come to Nha Trang, piercing winds and sometimes typhoons. The sea at this time is not calm. Strong waves rise on it, which can interfere with swimming. With waves, sand rises from the depths, so the water is no longer transparent and acquires a brownish tint. Interestingly, until 11 am during this period, the water will be clear and only then it will become cloudy. Therefore, in the morning hours in late autumn and early winter especially a lot of people gather on the beaches of Nha Trang.

Nha Trang beaches

Three local beaches are recognized as one of the best in. All of them belong to the city, so they are free for everyone. Close to large hotels you can see umbrellas and sun loungers for rent at a reasonable price. Luxury hotels marked with five stars have their own beaches in Nha Trang, where guests of other hotels are not allowed.

There are several famous beaches outside the city:

  • Jungle, near which there is a single hotel. This beach can be called secluded. It is reliably protected from strong winds by high hills and hidden from immodest eyes by lush vegetation;
  • Bai Dai. This 15 km long light yellow sand beach is located about 30 km from Nha Trang. It is great for families with kids, as the depth of the sea near the coast is low. There are sometimes high waves, which are used by local surfers;
  • Zoklet is a 6 km long beach that can be found 50 km from the city. Not all parts of the beach are suitable for sea baths. Only its central part is cleared of debris. It is owned by two hotels, which monitor the cleanliness of the sand. They also charge a fee for visiting Zoklet. The sea near the coast does not differ in depth, so people often come here with small children.

Beach safety in Nha Trang

Vacationers on the beaches of the famous Vietnamese resort poses several dangers. First of all, guests of Nha Trang should pay due attention to the colored flags that are set on the beaches. If the recreation area is marked with a green flag, then there are no dangers in the form of strong waves and wind, and you can swim without fear for your life. If a red or black flag is posted on the beach, then you should not enter the water. Strong waves can knock down and pull even experienced swimmers into the depths.

On the beaches of Nha Trang, well warmed by the sun, there are small sand fleas, whose bites are not fatal, but painful for humans. Wounds after an insect bite for the fastest healing should be smeared with Gentridecme cream or the popular Asterisk. You can avoid contact with sand fleas by adhering to simple rule: to bask in the sun not on the sand, but on a deck chair.

Jellyfish are found in the sea off the coast different types. Box jellyfish are considered the most dangerous. Almost all Vietnamese swim in thin shirts and trousers to protect themselves from jellyfish. You can significantly reduce the risk of meeting jellyfish in the water by refusing to swim in the tides. There are no other dangerous marine life near the shore.

Vietnam is not Indonesia or Miami, where real ocean waves wash the shores. But the South China Sea is very different from the well-known Black Sea, since it is not located inside the mainland, but only partially separated from Pacific Ocean islands, and it lives according to other laws that you need to know before entering the water.

First and most important rule: on beautiful and attractively deserted "wild" beaches, you can only admire the scenery, listen to the music of the waves and wander along the very edge of the surf. Swimming in an unfamiliar place is like playing Russian roulette. And here it doesn’t matter at all what sports category you were assigned in your student years!

Naturally, even in civilized areas of the coast, where lifeguards are on duty, no one guarantees you 100% safety. big water- the element is no more predictable than a hurricane. But following the recommendations will definitely not harm vacationers. Believe me, no one wants to spoil your vacation by forbidding you to enter the sea, which at first glance seems calm and safe. It’s just that professionals on the tower have considerable experience and know more complete information about the weather, currents and underwater fauna. Hence the second rule: never ignore red flags and other lifeguard warnings.

The strength of the tides in the South China Sea is very high, the water here can “leave” by 10-11 meters, which significantly changes the behavior of the waves. Over and over again, rolling onto land, large masses of water rush back to the depths. As a result, one of the most dangerous phenomena for the bather, known as "reverse flow", occurs. A channel is formed perpendicular to the shore, through which water rapidly moves into the open sea. If someone accidentally finds himself in such a “rip”, then in just a few seconds the current will carry him from the beach for tens of meters.

Paradoxically, the fatal factor is not the distance and not the huge speed, but attempts to escape. An instinctive impulse in such a situation makes you swim to the shore at all costs. Unfortunately, physical abilities man and nature are incomparable. The most hardy and trained very quickly become exhausted in a useless struggle with the flow of water and die. Although you need to know only a few things to be saved.

  • Often, the rip does not show itself outwardly, but when entering the sea or ocean, you should be alerted by the unusual color of the water compared to the rest of the surface (for example, white against a blue or turquoise background), a strip of seething water vertical to the horizon, moving along a similar line deep into algae or foam, an unexpected “bald spot” in a continuous ridge of waves (a deceptively calm area several meters wide when around a wave).
  • If you feel like you are suddenly carried to the open sea, the most important thing is not to panic and remember that the rip current is superficial and never drags a prey confidently afloat to the bottom.
  • To get out of the water channel, you need to move not TO the shore, but ALONG it, that is, turn right or left and swim parallel to the land. Since the width of the rip usually does not exceed 40-50 meters, you will soon feel that you have left the danger zone, and you can safely return to solid ground.

Jellyfish are another invisible threat to bathers. “Unpleasant, but not fatal,” you say? Typical misconception a man who on vacation came across only relatively harmless aurelia living in the seas of the temperate and tropical zones. The fact is that in the salty waters from the northern coast of Australia and New Guinea to the Philippines and Vietnam lives a deadly sea wasp. This box jellyfish, due to its transparent body, is hardly visible in the water, and each of the 60 tentacles up to 3 meters long harbors a charge of neurotoxin that can kill an adult in a few minutes.

In recent years, other dangerous for vacationers have been recorded in Southeast Asia. Marine life- poisonous physalia or " portuguese boats". In fact, these organisms are not jellyfish, although they look similar in appearance. The stinging cells on the tentacles cause severe and very painful burns. For children, the elderly, allergy sufferers, and people with heart disease, they can be fatal.

About appearing in coastal waters jellyfish, stingrays, scorpionfish and other unwanted guests on the landscaped areas of the coast report warning signs in several languages. But sharks, which are often feared by tourists who find themselves on the shores of a tropical sea for the first time, do not swim up to crowded beaches. You can see them only while diving at a distance from the land.

And finally, the rule that is relevant for relaxing on every body of water anywhere in the world, whether it is a quiet Russian river, a lake in the Alps or the ocean: never go into the water in a state of alcohol intoxication, albeit only "refresh". Take care of yourself and your loved ones!

One of the new travel destinations recent years in Russia - Vietnam. Russians have been loved in this country since Soviet Union, which in the 60s of the twentieth century helped the young republic to get out from under the yoke of the United States. Vietnam pleases warm sea, low prices and friendly residents.

Geographically, Vietnam is located in Southeast Asia. From the north, it is adjacent to China, the western border is combined with Laos and Cambodia. The east and south of the country are washed by the waters of the Pacific Ocean. The seas in Vietnam are different. Most of its coast is bordered by the South China Sea, with the same name and Tokinsky bays. And a very small piece in the south of the country belongs to the waters of the Gulf of Thailand. The island of Phu Quoc is also located there.

Conventionally, the coast of Vietnam is divided into 3 parts. Each of them has its own characteristics and even its own climate.

Let's start from the north. Here it is the capital of the country is Hanoi. This is the coldest and rainiest part of the country, especially in the outback. The main attraction here is Halong Bay - a bay in which thousands of islands are located. This place is fantastically beautiful, especially when viewed from a high point. Steep rocky cliffs, covered with greenery, "stick out" from the water and create a feeling of unreality of the world.

The northern part of the Vietnamese coast is not very suitable for a beach holiday. The coastline is too indented and covered with many islands. In the same part of the sea, but a little to the south, is the famous Chinese resort island of Hainan. North and Central Vietnam is a storehouse of discoveries for the explorer traveler. These places have not yet been touched by the foot of a mass tourist. There is still an opportunity to see Vietnam in its original form.

The southern part of the country already boasts a large number of resort areas. More precisely, all the main resorts of Vietnam are located here. This area is developing rapidly. In the near future, it will become no less popular than Thailand. At least, the government of the country has such ambitious plans. Many cities and monuments are included in the UNESCO heritage - this says a lot. The climate here is tropical, warmer and drier than in the northern regions.

If you look from the north, then this region begins with resorts:

  • hue- cultural, historical center, there are a lot of monuments and architectural objects;
  • Hoi an- a Chinese town in the middle of Vietnam;
  • Danang- an old resort town with excellent infrastructure.

Much to the south is one of the most popular resorts among Russian tour operators - Nha Trang. The weather here is great almost all year round. Here are the most fun entertainment and the best spas in Vietnam. Here are the most beautiful beaches. The perfect place for relax.

  • Phan Thiet Mui Ne- these two interconnected towns are a place for carefree holidays, culinary discoveries and aquatic species sports;
  • Dalat- a resort near the coast, in the mountains, at an altitude of almost 1500 meters. Almost alpine landscapes, forests, lakes, waterfalls. It is definitely worth a visit, especially for those who do not like the heat;
  • Ho Chi Minh is the southern capital of Vietnam. It is also called in the American manner - Saigon. City of restaurants and dens. Now there's nothing left of the past "glory", but there are hundreds of opportunities for recreation. This is business political center countries. There is a large airport from where vacationers from all over the world are distributed along the coast;
  • – complete relaxation in the middle national park and fishing villages.

If you decide to visit Vietnam not only for the sake of the beaches, then we advise you to start exploring it from the north and move south. And finish the trip already on the tropical beaches near Ho Chi Minh, or on Phu Quoc, lost in the waters of Siam.

Have a nice holiday!

The richest history of the country, the most valuable monuments of architecture, culture, unique, unique nature It's all Vietnam! It attracts tourists more and more: the blue expanse of the sea, warm sand and bright sun - these are the places to relax that fascinate and beckon.

The endless beaches shimmering in the sun, the turquoise expanse of the sea remain forever in the hearts of those who have been here at least once. You definitely want to come back here again. And what seas wash Vietnam, you ask.

Vietnam is located in Southeast Asia, in the east of the Indochina peninsula. Eastern part The country is washed by the South China Sea (Bakbo Gulf - Tonkin), belonging to the Pacific basin, southwest by the Gulf of Thailand, belonging to Indian Ocean, which here passes into the South China Sea. About 320,000 km2 is the area of the Gulf of Thailand.

The South China Sea has an area of 3,500,000 km² and a depth of about 5,500 meters. The coastline with its beautiful sandy beaches stretches for more than 3,000 km. The water in the South China Sea is quite salty, the percentage of salt is 32 - 34. In winter time, in the north of the country, the sea water is warm, its temperature ranges from 20 to 22 ° C, and in summer - from 28 to 30 ° C.

Big throughput sea for goods and cargo ships, owes, first of all, to its large sizes. The main route of ships sailing from China, Russia, Japan to the Singapore Strait and back passes through the Main Sea Route. This route is less dangerous and shorter, so it is used by the courts.

Along the Main Sea Route, on its sides, there are islands covered with vegetation and composed mainly of coral sand. Between the islands lie coral reefs and underwater atolls. Silt and sand occur at great depths, and coral occurs near reefs and islands. In the southern part, sand and shells, silt prevail, on the banks - coral, and rocky soil off the coast of rocky islands.

Warnings

Monsoons are one of the significant factors that affect the operation of the Main Sea Route. Typhoons are the main and biggest danger that awaits when sailing in the South China Sea.

Signs of approaching typhoons, the paths along which it moves, should be well studied and known to navigators. Basically, these typhoons often occur in autumn and summer. Drift currents in the South China Sea are also the result of the monsoons.

What seas border Vietnam? It is one, but rich in biological resources and commercial fish- tuna, herring, sardines.
