– Of course, you know that with the onset of cold weather, many birds fly south. But not all, there are those who do not fly away, but live with us all year round (crow, dove, sparrow).

- And there are those who come to us only for the winter. (tits, bullfinches).

- Bullfinches are called so because they fly to us with the first snow. The bullfinch has a red chest, a bluish-gray back, and a black head and wings.

- Titmouse have yellow breasts, and black heads and wings.

Tell me about the crow. What is she? (large, black, important, cunning).

This bird is familiar to you. Who is it? Tell me about the sparrow.

- What is he? (small, gray, nimble, fast).

This bird can be found in the forest. This is a woodpecker.

He often knocks on wood, and do you know why he does it?

- The woodpecker heals trees, extracting harmful bugs from under the bark.

Tell me about this bird. Who is it? What is he?

(The pigeon is large, gray, cooing.)

- What are these birds?

- Why are they called that?

4. Finger exercise "Woodpecker"

It's time to play with your fingers.

I knock on wood Open palm - tree, index finger
I want to get a worm other hand - woodpecker's beak. For every line
Although he hid under the bark, four strokes of the finger on the palm.
It will still be mine.

5 . Exercise "Hide the syllables in the palms"

Abstract open class in preparatory group

"Winter Birds".

Prepared by the teacher: S.V. Kiseleva

Integration of educational areas: "Cognition", "Communication".

Goals: introduce wintering birds; study their features; cultivate love for nature; develop an interest in bird watching; enrich vocabulary: wintering, migratory birds, feeder.

Materials and equipment: a winter tree with the image of birds, an audio recording of “Voices of Birds”, jars of bird food, silhouettes of birds, feeders made by children and their parents.

    Organizing time.

Solve the riddle about winter month. Justify the answer with the words of the riddle.

Pinches ears, pinches nose,

Frost creeps into boots.

You splash water - it will fall

Not water already, but ice.

Not even a bird flies

The bird freezes from the cold.

The sun turned to summer.

What, say, for a month is this?

(January) .

"Even a bird can't fly." Who doesn't fly? (Bird).

Why doesn't the bird fly? (She freezes.)

What are the names of the birds that stay over the winter? (Winterers.)

What winter birds do you know?

Let's go to the winter forest to see who lives there. It is quiet in the forest in late autumn and winter: migratory birds have long since flown far, far away. But other birds fly to us for the winter. Let there be few of them, let them not please us with cheerful chirping, it's still wonderful.

- Guys! How beautiful in winter forest! Silence. And what is this noise? What is the fuss among the trees?
(Sounds of "Voices of the Birds" sound.)
- Guys, these are birds of the winter forest. But where are they?
(children approach the tree on which the birds "sit").

And here is unusual tree where a flock of birds settled. Let's get to know them.

(Winter tree with wintering birds: bullfinch, crossbill, titmouse, woodpecker, crow, sparrow, magpie)

II. Acquaintance with wintering birds.

Look what a lively flock settled on a tree.
The birds in this flock are different. All these birds came together in autumn. It is easier for them to feed in a flock. One bird finds food, others rush to her voice. The flock will search the tree and the snow under it, collect everything that is possible - hidden insects, seeds and fruits - and fly on.

Listen to the riddle and find this bird in our winter tree.

Black-winged, red-breasted

And find shelter in the winter

He is not afraid of colds

With the first snow right there. (Bullfinch).

Well done!

The bullfinch, important and proud, has a bright red chest, a black cap, and white stripes on the wings. When the bullfinch takes off from the branch, it seems that two mirrors flash in the sun. But only dads look like such dandies - bullfinches. Bullfinches - mothers are much more modest. Birds generally do this. Their breast is not red, but grayish-brown. The cap is not so velvety, and the mirrors on the wings are smaller. All bullfinches are tireless travelers: they spend the whole autumn and winter wandering, hopping from tree to tree, looking for rowan, elderberry, ash, maple, etc. berries.

Now pay attention to the bullfinch's beak. Do you think it is convenient to extract seeds with such a beak? (Answers of children). Therefore, the bullfinch is a bird (Grain-eating).

So, what does a bullfinch eat? How is its beak adapted for getting seeds and buds? Remember, if you find eaten fruits under a tree, it means that it was bullfinches that “tabled” here.

Solve the following riddle and find the bird in the tree.

The fidget is small.

Almost all bird is yellow

Likes lard and wheat.

Who recognized her ... (Titmouse)

Guys, look at the unusual coloring of the feathers of the titmouse. It seems that the bird put on a yellow blouse with a black tie and a green raincoat, and adorned her head with a dark cap. This is a resident bird. Tits build nests in hollows of trees, in burrows, under the lagged bark of old trees and among snags. They live in flocks of 10-15.

The nest of the titmouse consists of thin dry grass stalks, twigs, moss, lichens. Tits are very useful in nature. In a day, they eat as many insects as they weigh themselves.

Guys, there is even a holiday in honor of the titmouse, it is celebrated on November 12th. On this day, wintering birds fly closer to human habitation. The tit was loved in Russia, they considered it a bird that brings happiness and the keeper of the prophetic word.

Here is a bird, so a bird,
Not a thrush, not a titmouse,
Not a swan, not a duck
And not a nightjar.
But this bird
Though small,
Brings out chicks
Only in severe winter. (Crossbill)

In winter, crossbills can also be seen in our area. It is a large-headed bird with red-brown plumage. They do not like loneliness, they keep in flocks. Small flocks of crossbills can be seen on coniferous trees. Why? Cone seeds are their main food, but getting a seed from a closed cone is not so easy. How to be?

Consider this bird. Notice the beak. What does he look like? The beak at the crossbill resembles tongs: thick, flattened on the sides, and at the end it is arranged so that its upper and lower parts intersect. With such a beak, a couple of trifles push the scales of the cone and get the seeds. The cones, after the crossbill has worked on them, seem disheveled. Klest throws them to the ground. A cone treated with a crossbill is easy to recognize: the crossbill tears it off along with the branch. And what's more interesting: the crossbill builds a nest and usually hatches chicks at the end of winter - in February. This is the only bird that breeds chicks in winter.

So how do you tell crossbills from other birds? What helps them get the seeds out of the cone? What is special about the behavior of birds in winter?

We continue to solve riddles:

In the forest under twitter, ringing and whistling,
The forest telegrapher knocks:
"Hey, thrush, buddy!"
And he signs ... (woodpecker).

Guys, meet an unusually beautiful bird - a woodpecker. Its wings, belly and wings are black. There is a red spot on the head like a cap. It has a strong beak and a long tongue. The woodpecker extracts bark beetles from under the bark, which is why the woodpecker is called the forest doctor. With the onset of spring, the woodpecker in the hollow has offspring: tiny blind chicks. Listen to a poem about a woodpecker.

Good woodpecker - forest healer

And a flying pharmacy.

If someone gets into trouble,

Then he will immediately rush to him.

- What, pine, got sick?

Moshkara got you?

Yes-ah-ah, you really

The bark beetles won.

But I give you my word

You will be healthy again!

(V. Gvozdev)

Fidget motley,
long-tailed bird,
talking bird,
The most chatty.
white-sided messenger,
And her name is...
(Magpie)

The magpie is called differently: the magpie is a white-sided, the magpie is a thief, a chirp. That's how many nicknames one bird has. How she looks like? The head, tail, wings are black, and the sides are white. Hence the nickname white-sided. Flying through the forest, the magpie makes a sound like a chirp - that's why they call it a chirp.

It was not for nothing that the magpie received the nickname “thief” - she loves everything shiny. Carries bright beads, wire, buttons into the nest.

With the onset of autumn, magpies gather in flocks. Rowan berries, sea buckthorn - a favorite delicacy of magpies. Magpies do not fly south, but in the winter cold they move closer to people.

Fizminutka "Small bird"
small bird
I flew across the sky (birds fly)
Sat under the window
She pecked at the crumbs (sat down, pecking at the grains),
The bird started up (stand up, brushed off),
She straightened her back.
She sang a song, flew into the house (waving their hands).

Guys, what other birds do you see on our tree, name them?

Now let's play a game "Bird Count" count how many birds are sitting on the tree.

The game "Recognize the bird by verbal description."

This small mobile bird with a rounded head, short neck, egg-shaped body, short and rounded wings. The beak is hard, pointed at the end. In the cold season, the birds sit tightly pressed against each other, ruffled. (Sparrow.)

This is a beautiful bird. She has a black cap on her head, white cheeks, a black stripe on her throat - a tie, gray wings and a tail, a yellow-green back, and a yellow belly. (Tits.)

This bird has beautiful colorful plumage. The top of the body is black, there are white spots on the head and neck, white stripes on the folded wings, red undertail and crown. The beak is strong and sharp. (Woodpecker.)

This bird has black top of its head, wings, and tail; the back is bluish-gray, and the abdomen is red. The beak is short, thick, conical, black. (Bullfinch.)

This small red bird has tenacious paws and a characteristic cruciform beak. (Crossbill.)

The head, wings, tail of this bird are black, and snow-white feathers on the sides. The tail is long, straight, like an arrow. The beak is strong and sharp. (Magpie.)

This bird has a large, elongated body, large strong legs. She walks with big steps. The beak is strong, large. The head, throat and wings are black, while the rest of the body is grey. (Crow.)

Well done, recognized all the birds.

What a table among birches
Open air?
He treats in the cold.
Birds with grain and bread (feeding trough).

Correctly. What are feeders for?

What do birds eat and what can be put in the feeder ).

-Well done!

Wintering birds are not afraid of frost, they fly a lot and try to get food themselves even in the most cold weather. They look for insects hiding in cracks in the bark, in the cracks of houses and fences, look for fruits and seeds of deciduous plants, cones coniferous trees with seeds. They come to our homes for help. And we must help our feathered friends survive the winter. And what do we need to do, how to help them survive in the cold season?
(children's answers).

- That's right, the birds must be fed in the winter, build feeders for them. Don't forget to clean these feeders before putting food in them. Near the feeders you can not throw packages, jars in which you bring food. It is necessary to ensure that there is always food in the feeder. Remember that birds need sunflower seeds, watermelon seeds, melons, pumpkins, pieces of unsalted lard, bread crumbs.

The game "Birds in the feeder."

Now we will play with you. Imagine that you are birds. Take a picture of the bird you like. (They take it) And I'm reading a poem. The bird that hears about itself "flies" to the "feeder". (They put the bird on the feeder)

“We made a feeder,

We opened a canteen.

Visit on the first day of the week

Tits flew to us,

And on Tuesday, look

The snowmen have arrived.

Three crows were on Wednesday

We didn't expect them for dinner,

And on Thursday from all over

A flock of greedy sparrows.

On Friday in our dining room

The dove ate porridge,

And on Saturday for pie

There were seven forty.

Sunday, Sunday

There was general fun."

Didactic game "Bird's dining room"

Now go to the food tray, choose only what the birds eat.

(There are jars with various bird food on the tray. Among them are sweets, bread, cookies, fresh cabbage, lard).

Guys, we visited the winter forest, and now we are returning back.

III.Summary of the lesson:

What birds are we talking about?

Why do we call them that?

What bird is called a forest doctor?

Which of these birds is chirping?

How can we help birds survive the harsh winter?

What is the name of the "bird canteen"?

What food should be put in the feeder?

Guys, you and your parents have prepared feeders, today we will hang them for a walk and put treats for our birds there. Let's also set up "bird dining rooms" at home, and I think the birds will be grateful to us for this.

Thank you for your work.

caregiver. Guys, I want to tell one entertaining story about how the wintering birds of our region chose their president. But first, what should a president be like? Name the words - signs.
Children. He is kind, handsome, hardworking, fair, lively, dexterous, cheerful, friendly…
Educator. The president of the birds must live in the forest all year round to represent the interests of the birds at all times. And now the candidates for the role of president were ... who?
Children. Crow, Sparrow, Magpie, Woodpecker, Owl, Titmouse, Klest, Bullfinch.

(The teacher exposes pictures of these birds).
Educator. What can be said about these birds?
Children. These birds are wintering.
Educator. The birds immediately decided to remove Owl, Klest and Bullfinch from participation in the elections. Guess why?
Children. An owl is a bird of prey, unkind. She can offend other birds, and during the day she sleeps. Klest - lives far away in the dense pine forests, and it has an ugly crochet beak.
The bullfinch is a nomadic bird, it does not happen in our forests in the summer, and this is not suitable for the president.
Educator. First, the birds decided to arrange a show of bird plumage models, see how it happened, take part in the competition.
Repeat after me: “I will twist on one leg, and I will turn into a winter bird.” (Children do the task)
The teacher turns on the music, the children begin to slowly move around the room, depicting birds. The teacher periodically turns off the music, the children - birds take beautiful pose. When the music plays again, they move on their toes, spinning, fluttering, dancing. At the end of the music, everyone sits down.
Educator. That's exactly how it was. This competition was won by Magpie, Tit and Woodpecker. Crow and Sparrow were considered not very beautiful by birds, gray, black and brown were not fashionable that season.
(The teacher removes the pictures of these birds).
Educator. Only three birds remained, which continued to participate in the elections. The birds decided to check whether Magpie, Woodpecker and Tit are good builders.
(The teacher put up pictures of a nest of a magpie, a tit, a woodpecker's hollow)
Children consider, draw a conclusion: Magpie's nest and a woodpecker's hollow are better, in them the chicks will not get wet and will not freeze. (The picture with the titmouse is removed).
Educator. So that the birds - the audience do not get bored, Magpie and Woodpecker decided to amuse them a little, to show them their musical abilities.

Musical attraction "Cha-cha-cha and Ta-ta-ta"

Educator. The magpie-chirker invited all the birds to repeat this rhythm: cha - cha - cha - cha - cha - cha (the teacher pronounces the words, claps for each syllable, the children repeat without breaking the rhythm).
Educator. And the forest drummer - Woodpecker rapped out the whole message. Listen and tap with your fingers: ta - ta - ta - ta - ta (children tap out a rhythmic pattern).
Educator. The birds cheered and gave them applause in gratitude, began to flap their wings on their sides, turn their heads from side to side and smile (children perform)
Educator. In conclusion, the birds asked Magpie and Woodpecker to tell what benefits they bring to birds, humans, and the forest.
What do you think they said?
Children. Magpie said that she destroys a lot of caterpillars, midges, beetles and mosquitoes.
Educator. But then the birds remembered that magpies can steal an egg from someone else's nest. And this is not good!
Children. The woodpecker is a very useful bird, it is called the forest doctor.
Educator. What would happen to the forest if there were no woodpeckers in it? (Answer)
Educator. And so it happened that the Woodpecker was chosen as the president of the wintering birds. Now tell me what is it?
Children. Big, motley, beautiful, wintering, useful, hardworking, smart, elegant.
Educator. What does he look like?
Children. woodpecker fashionable outfit: the frock coat is black, and there are white specks on the wings - mittens, the shirt is white with black specks. On the head is a red beret.
caregiver. What does a woodpecker eat? How he does it?
Children. It destroys many insect pests that hide under the bark of trees, and it also feeds on cone seeds. He will find a tree with a crevice in the forest and set up his forge there: he will put a cone in the crack and peck out all the seeds.
Educator. What benefits does the woodpecker bring to the forest?
Children. The woodpecker destroys many pests and their larvae. If there are many woodpeckers in the forest, then the trees will be strong and healthy. When the woodpecker pecks at the cones, some of the seeds fall to the ground and new trees grow from them.
Educator. Dear Guys! The wintering birds asked me to thank you for your kindness and affection, and for the fact that the feeders are never empty in winter. Thank you!

Guys, a carrier pigeon flew to our kindergarten and brought a letter. I wonder what is it about? Open the envelope, take out the letter and let's read it.

(The teacher reads the letter):

“Hello, dear guys! The forester Ivan Ivanovich is writing to you. A disaster happened in our forest: the rainbow lost its colors and the birds stopped singing! And only you can bring back the colors of the rainbow and the voices of the birds. To do this, you need to complete the tasks that are in the envelopes. I placed numbered envelopes with assignments on a tree.

(The teacher draws the children's attention to the tree with envelopes.)

Educator:

Guys! What do you think, from which envelope should we start completing tasks? ( children's answers)

Take the envelope, open it and take out the letter.

(the teacher reads the letter):

“Guys, place the birds in their places. Look, there are symbols on the easels. Look at them and say what they mean."

(children's answers)

Symbols: migratory birds -

winter birds -

Educator:

Guys, take one picture at a time, consider which bird is depicted on it, and place it on an easel with that symbol which suits her.

(children do the task)

(after completing the task, the teacher draws the attention of the children to the fact that they are united in two teams)

Educator:

Guys, we have two teams, come up with names for your teams and introduce them (children agree).

Now check with each other the correctness of the task.

(After completing the task, a rainbow appears on the screen and she has the first red arc!)

Educator:

Guys, what number will be the next envelope?

(children name a number)

Educator:

Take it off and open it. Here are questions from Ivan Ivanovich.

I will be asking questions to each team in turn.

  1. A bird called by the best singer in the world?
  2. Bird, the best postman?
  3. A bird that doesn't raise its young?
  4. What birds served Baba Yaga.
  5. Which bird laid the golden egg for the grandmother and grandfather?
  6. What bird is Winnie the Pooh friends with
  7. What bird doesn't fly?
  8. What bird did the ugly duckling become?
  9. Which bird is famous for its unusual tail?
  10. Birds with which Niels traveled.
  11. Birds that took the frog to warmer climes.
  12. A bird whose beak is as strong as a jackhammer

Educator:

Guys, you answered all the questions correctly, and the rainbow has another color(Orange ).

Approach the tree, shoot and open the next envelope. What number is he?(children's answers) It also contains a letter with a task from Ivan Ivanovich and he offers us the game "Guess the bird".

Approach the table on which the pictures lie. Each team will choose two pictures of birds. The first team will place one picture on the easel so that the other team does not see it and will say: "We made a picture, guess which one."

The other team must guess this bird, naming habits, appearance, habitat, etc.

(children complete the task, teams work in turn)

Educator: Well done guys, you completed the task, and the rainbow has another color(yellow ).

Take off the next envelope. What is his account?(children's answers), What else does Ivan Ivanovich offer us?

(teacher reads the letter):

“Children, I know that you love to play. And I offer one more interesting game. It's called "Bird's Pole". The rules of the game are as follows: when the music sounds, you dance, but as soon as the music stops, you stop and perform movements: if you hear the name of a wintering bird, you sit down, and if it is a migratory one, spread your arms to the sides. Be careful! the correct execution of the task in this game will help to return another color to the rainbow. One, two, three - music, sound!

(the game is repeated 3-4 times)

Educator:

Well done boys! Here is another arc of the rainbow playing with its color!(green )

We need to remove the next envelope numbered ...? What else does Ivan Ivanovich write to us?!

(teacher reads the letter):

“Guys, there are a lot of birds in our forest, somehow they sat in a row and started a dispute, which of them could be superfluous. Help them resolve the dispute."

Educator:

Guys, look at the birds in the pictures located on the easel, name them. Tell me which bird may be superfluous, explain why you think so.

(first pictures for the first team are displayed on the easel, then for the second, the teams perform the task in turn and explain their choice)

Educator:

Well done boys. In each row, any bird can be superfluous on a certain basis, but all birds are important and necessary!

So the rainbow has changed, and it has another color(blue), and we still have to open one more envelope and it is numbered ..., take it off and let's read what else Ivan Ivanovich offers us to do.

(children remove the envelope, call the number, the teacher reads the letter):

“Guys, I offer you a game, by completing the tasks of which you will help the birds find their homes. The game is called "Find a home for the bird, listen to the rules of the game that the teacher will read to you."

Educator:

Guys, look at the bird in the center of the screen, name it. Around it are pictures with different nests. Examine them carefully, find the nest of this bird and name where it is located on the screen. To do this, you need to use the words: in the upper left corner, on the right in the middle row, in the bottom row in the middle ...

Educator:

You did a great job with this task, and the rainbow got another color(blue ).

Educator:

And here is the last envelope, numbered (7), take it off and open it, and there are some interesting signs in it. Look at the signs and tell what they mean. ( children's responses).

You can't make noise in the forest. - No fire can be lit

You can not scatter garbage - You can not ruin anthills

Don't destroy nests. - Do not shoot from a slingshot

Educator:

Well done! What a great way to explain everything!

So what did the signs tell us?(children's answers)

You coped with the last task of the forester Ivan Ivanovich, and look: the rainbow shone with all its colors! Name them.(children's answers)

Now, listen, what do we hear? (starts recording with the sound of birds singing) (Voices of birds).

(child reading a poem about birds)

Valery Shulzhik
"EACH BIRD HAS ITS OWN MUSIC..."

A picture with the image of the Forester appears on the screen,

Educator:

Guys, the Forester thanks you for your help, sends you the book "Encyclopedia of Birds" as a gift.

Play: Guys, look outside the window, what time of year do we have? How has nature changed? (Children's answers.) Play: Now we have late autumn. All the animals and birds must have already prepared for the onset of cold weather. There is a knock on the door, a magpie flies in with a letter.
“The trouble in the forest happened! All the birds are mixed up and do not know how to be. Some need to fly to warmer climes, but without your help they can't do it. Guys help the birds! Vos-l: Guys, what kind of birds need to fly to warmer climes? What birds are left? (Children's answers) Play: Let's help the birds, since you know that birds are divided into migratory and wintering. Why are they called that? Migratory birds- fly in winter warm countries They are cold and have nothing to eat. Winterers are not afraid of the cold and stay here. In front of the children there are envelopes in them with pictures and syllables with the name of the birds, you need to correctly compose the word, and stick it on the plexiglass. Then we turn over and check the correctness of the wording. SO-RO-KA, SI-NI-CA, SO-LO-WEI, SO-VA, SQUARE-REC. Vosp-l: Well done guys. Tell me which of them are migratory and which are wintering. Look closely, what do these birds have in common? (Children's answers) Play: Guys, let's listen to the birds singing and try to guess who sings how (audio recording with birds singing). Logorhythm with the sound "C" Play: Look, what kind of house is standing here? You and I came to visit fairy tales, we need to remember in the titles of which works birds are found. (Children's answers) "Gray neck", "Geese-swans", fable "Crow and Fox", " ugly duck" etc. Game "Funny ball". We throw the ball to the child and call the bird. The child throws the ball back and says "migratory" (p) or "wintering" (h). Bullfinch (s), starling (p), dove (s), titmouse (s), duck (p), swallow (p), swan (p), nightingale (p), owl (s), woodpecker (s), cuckoo (n), etc.
Vosp-l: Well, guys, we played with you, now we need to hurry on. In front of you is a bird (a bullfinch cut into pieces), you need to correctly name the parts of the body. (Children's answers) Play: Look, we seem to have collected all the birds, now we need to make out which birds are migratory and which are wintering. We sit down at the tables. All the birds are laid out in front of the children. Look: Guys, look carefully. Let each of you choose a bird and try to describe it. We will put the migratory ones on a tree, and the wintering ones will remain with us on the board. (Children's answers) Play: Well done guys, you did all the tasks. But migratory birds will fly to warmer climes and find food there, and wintering birds should be helped in winter? How? (Children's answers) Play: But if we pour grains, crumbs of bread on the ground, they can be covered with snow. What to do? (Children's answers) Play: Correctly you need to hang bird feeders. Here I have a feeder and when we go for a walk we will hang it on our site and feed the birds that will winter. Application.

Educator MBDOU No. 44 Svartsevich O.V. Kemerovo 2011 PHYSICAL MINUTE: “Birds” The text of the poem is pronounced and accompanying movements are performed at the same time. Like a woodpecker with its head between the foliage, it hollows out the trees. (move head up and down) Like fishing and waddling A goose runs after a goose. (running in place with arms extended)
How surprised, the Geese stopped at the river itself, drank water, opened their wings (tilt forward, arms back) And slowly went, (steps in place) 1 Crow This bird, probably, was seen by everyone. And heard her loud, piercing voice. The crow is a fairly large bird. On the ground, she steps importantly, but sometimes bounces funny. The outfit of the crow is modest: a black head, wings and tail. The rest is grey. The beak is large, strong. Crows have turned into real city dwellers. Their large nests can be seen in tall trees in parks, along roadsides. They eat whatever they find on the street. We can say that the crows are "orderlies": they will pick up all the waste and garbage. But crows feed not only on what they unearth in garbage cans. They destroy harmful insects, mice. They even know how to fish. Do not mind eating eggs from other people's nests. Everyone is familiar with the crow's croak. It is often said: "A crow croaks in winter to frost, and in summer to bad weather." It turns out that crows can imitate the voices of other birds, the sound of a woodpecker. They can meow, bark and even creak like a door. Tamed crows are no worse than parrots pronounce the words of human speech. Crows are very smart. They soak dry crusts of bread in puddles, break nuts, throwing them from a height onto the asphalt. Scientists have found that crows can count to five! And it is easy to distinguish a person with a gun from a person with an ordinary stick. And crows are not indifferent to shiny things - watches, earrings, jewelry. And they often steal them, hide them in nests or in other hiding places.
To spend the night, crows gather in flocks and fly to the park or to the edge of the forest. And they sit on the branches for a long time, croak, as if telling each other what interesting things happened during the day. Their nests are large and strong. Together with the branches, the crows weave pieces of wire into the nests. They insulate the nests with down, moss, rags. And wool, which is deftly pecked out of the skins of shaggy dogs. And now eggs appeared in the nest - light green, with dark specks. The female will now warm them, incubate them, and the male will feed and protect them. When the chicks grow up, then both parents will have to work hard to feed their voracious offspring. 2Cuckoo When people hear the voice of the cuckoo, they jokingly ask: "Cuckoo, cuckoo, how old am I?" And they count the sonorous "ku-ku" resounding over the forest. In fact, the cuckoo, of course, does not count the years. And in general, cuckooing is a "man's" thing, this is the song of a cuckoo - a male. He informs everyone that this is his territory, his possessions. And, of course, hunting grounds. And yet - this is an invitation to visit - a cuckoo - a female. And let the others clean up kindly - hello, otherwise there will be a fight - fluff and feathers will fly! But the cuckoo became famous not for its singing, but for the fact that it lays its eggs in other people's nests. The cuckoo is a rather large bird with a long tail. And it is very similar to a predator - I am a streb. She scares away small birds and leaves her egg in a strange house. Sometimes the owners of the nest peck, throw out the egg that appeared in such a cheeky way. But most often they hatch as their own. It is not uncommon for cuckoo eggs to be colored the same as the others in that nest. And then the deceived parents have to feed the gluttonous cuckoo. He often stays alone in the nest. He alone will be fed. Often the chick becomes larger than its "parents", who fly all day to the nest, sometimes with a worm, sometimes with a fly. And the cuckoo only opens its mouth: its appetite is excellent! Well, what does mommy do - cuckoo? She doesn't even think about the chick! Already in the middle of summer, the cuckoo is going to distant warm countries. But we must be fair: there are cuckoos that themselves hatch and feed their chicks. Cuckoos destroy harmful insects. They even peck at poisonous caterpillars that other birds do not eat. Useful bird! 3Swan Here is a swan swimming, reflected in the calm mirror of the lake. The long neck is slightly arched, it swims calmly and majestically. But suddenly he flapped his big snow-white wings... When a swan comes ashore, it bears little resemblance to a fabulous bird. With a clumsy gait on wide webbed feet, it resembles a goose. And this is not surprising: swans, geese and ducks are close relatives. At the swan Long neck and a broad, dark or red beak. In some species of swans, on the forehead above the beak is a tubercle, like a bump. The swan easily gets food from the bottom of a lake or river. Like geese and ducks, it filters water with bottom silt through its beak, through special plates-cloves. And all the prey - aquatic insects, plant seeds, algae - remains in the beak. Very beautiful swan cares for the female. He raises his neck high, spreads his wings, sometimes makes loud trumpet cries. A pair of swans lives together all their lives.
Swans recognize each other not only by voice, but also by appearance. It happens that the female will lower her neck into the water, and the swan, not recognizing her, will rush to drive away the “stranger”. But as soon as the female raises her head, the swan - the husband will calm down, glancing at her guiltily. Swans nest on the shore, in thickets of coastal bushes and plants. The nest is lined with down, plucked from their chest. The eggs are usually incubated by the female. But black swans have both parents. Swans are born covered with a rare fluff, little resemblance to beautiful birds. There is a legend that at the end of life the swan sings the last "swan" song. But this is only a legend. The songs of the swan are more like hissing with harsh sounds. But we still admire these majestic birds. 4 Magpie "Chatty, like a magpie!" - this is the name of a person who likes to chat. And in fact, magpies chirp a lot: this is how they warn everyone in the forest about the approach of danger - predatory beast or a person. What color is magpie? Everyone will say "black and white". She really has a black head, wings, tail. But the dark magpie feathers cast a blue-green sheen. Magpies are very curious, they want to know about everything that is happening around. On the ground, the bird waddles, often moving in big leaps. People, noticing this, say: "Jumps like a magpie!" The magpie has a strong, sharp beak. And a very large, longer than her entire body, tail. Feathers are located in it "ledges". It's like someone cut the edges unevenly. But the most unusual thing is that the magpie, like a lizard, can leave its tail in the teeth or claws of the enemy. Then a new one will grow anyway. Magpie is a fast and agile bird. Snatching a piece from under the very beak of a crow costs her nothing! Magpie, like a crow, loves to collect shiny objects: rings, coins, brooches, pieces of bright glass. All this is often found in magpie nests and hiding places. Hence another expression - "Magpie - a thief." Magpies arrange their nests among dense bushes or high on a tree. These birds are excellent builders. From long strong rods, they first make a solid frame of the nest in the form of a ball. Its foundation is strengthened with clay and earth, like the foundation of a house. The nest is covered from above by a special roof made of branches, and the entrance is located on the side. At the bottom - a soft bedding of down, feathers, moss. Often the magpie plucks wool from the skins of animals for the nest. Magpie eggs are bluish in color, with brown and brown spots. Magpie warms them, not flying anywhere from the nest. And all this time the male feeds her. He also guards the nest. He is responsible for all members of his family! 5Swallow In the fairy tale of G.Kh. Andersen's "Thumbelina" a little girl saved a freezing swallow, and then the swallow helped Thumbelina: she took her to warm, magical lands ... On a bright sunny day, nimble swallows - birds with a black back and a light chest - just flash in the sky up, then make sharp turns. They catch their food on the fly: flies, mosquitoes, butterflies and other insects. They fly quickly, dexterously, they have strong long wings, which is why their flight is so swift. But the wings prevent the swallows from walking on the ground, so they rest sitting on wires and thin twigs.
Swallows on the fly can not only catch insects, but even drink! They fly over the water and scoop it up with their beak. Also, on the fly, swallows manage to swim. They will fly several times over the surface itself, lightly touch the water - so they swam! Birds often live near humans. They arrange nests under the roofs of houses, under balconies, they can even fly into the room ... And their nests are made of lumps of clay moistened with saliva. On the high bank of the river you can see many small minks. These burrows are inhabited by sand martins. They dig minks with their beaks. Sometimes impudent sparrows will drive the swallow out of the nest, occupy someone else's house. Then the swallows will gather, whisper about something - and close up the entrance to the nest with clay. Here the uninvited guest will not say hello! When the chicks appear, the swallows often have to feed them: the appetite of the chicks is excellent. Swallows help people know if it will rain. If they fly low above the ground - wait for the rain. Before the rain, the air becomes humid. Small midges get wet, get heavy and fall down. And behind them - and swallows. And it is absolutely amazing that these birds can be ... postmen! They always return to their native lands. And sometimes people sent letters with them. There were cases when swallows brought notes from people in trouble. And people were saved! Only in summer this kind bird lives with us, it flies to warm countries for the winter. But in the spring she returns, and we are glad to see her! 6 The owl is a nocturnal bird of prey. Its body is perfectly adapted for night hunting for small birds and rodents. Excellent eyesight, excellent hearing, silent flight, exceptional head mobility by 270 degrees, sharp claws, strong paws - these are the qualities of a good hunter. The eyes of the bird are large and round, but during the day the owl sees poorly, and therefore hides in hollow trees and old buildings until sunset.
