Civil aviation is a unified and standardized area of human activity. National and international flights are carried out according to the same rules.

Civil aviation pilot training systems practically do not differ between countries. With desire and free Money Anyone can learn how to fly an airplane and become a certified amateur pilot.

Pilot training: types

Training programs and skills requirements vary depending on which aircraft and for what purpose the person is going to fly.

In total, there are 3 types of licenses for operating a civil aircraft (in Russia - certificates).

Table 1. Types of piloting licenses.

Recreational pilots have the opportunity to obtain a Private Pilot License (PPL).

Where do you learn to fly an airplane?

In Russia, aviation training centers are engaged in training and issuing certificates. As a rule, there are such centers in every region, and in some, for example, in the Moscow region, there is not even one.

Training time - from 6 months. In principle, you can learn to fly faster. But flight schools have their own standards, which do not allow, for example, to fly more than 3 hours a day.

Flight practice is often limited to 1-1.5 hours. However, they do not fly every day. Plus - theoretical lectures.

In flight schools in the USA and Europe, if desired, you can study for 6 months. There are intensive courses that full program training can be mastered in 3-6 weeks. On an intensive course, they fly daily for 3-6 hours. It is believed that daily practice allows you to learn to fly faster and more efficiently.

How is the flight training going?

In order to learn how to fly, you need to master two courses: theory and practice.

Thematic courses are taught in specialized training centers. Some information can be gleaned from textbooks. Features of the device of the aircraft, its flight characteristics contained in the operating manual.

Theoretical course for pilots

The pilot must learn the following theoretical aspects:

  • elements of aerodynamics;
  • device and design features aircraft;
  • operation of onboard equipment;
  • aviation meteorology;
  • aircraft navigation;
  • training in pilot-controller slang.

What a person who takes the course should know and what skills should he/she learn:

  • know the basics of aircraft control;
  • know the characteristics and operating limitations of a particular aircraft type;
  • be able to calculate the center of gravity of the aircraft;
  • be able to calculate the effect of loading on flight characteristics;
  • have route planning skills;
  • have an understanding of the principles of control of probabilistic threats and human errors;
  • have an idea about the algorithm of actions in an emergency;
  • understand and analyze meteorological reports;
  • be able to use aeronautical charts;
  • know aviation codes and abbreviations;
  • have the ability to communicate with dispatchers.

In fact, all of the above is not as difficult as it might seem at first glance. Despite the fact that the course is theoretical, the information given on it is purely practical.

All this knowledge and skills are tied to a specific aircraft. Those. theory is given in a limited and dosed way, without loading students with unnecessary information.

The essence of theoretical studies is not that a person knows everything about aerodynamics at the level of an engineering university, but that he has basic information that will make the behavior of an aircraft understandable to him in certain conditions.

Practical course for pilots

Practical classes are held in parallel with the theoretical course. On the first sorties, the aircraft is controlled by an instructor, the student observes and acts as a co-pilot. At a certain flight time, the instructor and the future pilot change places. At this stage, the student assumes the function of the aircraft commander, and the instructor prompts, corrects, and insures him against wrong actions.

In addition to flying during the daytime, it is necessary to learn how to fly at night, according to instruments, in the absence of visual references, to be able to overcome a long flight with several landings.

As can be seen from the table above, flight training requirements for pilots in the United States are more stringent: they involve a greater number of flights at night, including one long, 3-hour flight in the absence of visual references, and the passage of one route with 3 takeoffs / landings on different airfields.

It should be noted that the flight requirements given are the minimum. Nothing prevents schools from increasing the duration of training, including flight practice, if there are reasons for this (for example, due to the fact that a person is slowly mastering the technique).

In particular, some American flight schools offer intensive three-week pilot training courses with 60 flight hours. At the same time, every week there are 20 hours in the air, which, with daily flights, averages 3 hours a day.

Upon completion of training, pilots pass a theoretical exam and make a control flight. With satisfactory results, aviation Training Center issues a Private Pilot License to the applicant.

What does a Private Pilot License entitle you to?

A licensed private pilot has the right to:

  • Fly within the borders of the country that issued the certificate on a certain type of aircraft (the one on which the training took place).
  • Quickly retrain for flying on other types of aircraft.
  • Having confirmed the Certificate abroad (by passing the exams without training), you can get a license for the right to pilot in any chosen country.

All civil aviation licenses issued in the world are standardized international organization civil aviation (ICAO). This means that they are international law to fly private jets.

How much does it cost to learn to fly an airplane?

The cost of training depends on the aviation school, the type of aircraft used. In Russia, you can learn how to fly an airplane for $7,000-$8,000 thousand (500 thousand rubles).

Cheaper schools operate in the US and Europe. However, travel, living expenses, a visa and a mandatory language exam will bring the total cost of education closer to $8,000-$10,000, and possibly even more.

At the same time, American education is traditionally considered the best. At least from an organizational point of view.

What if I want to fly big planes?

You can learn commercial or linear piloting in Russia at specialized higher educational institutions by completing a full 5-year course.

In Europe and in the USA, this is easier. For 8 months you can get a commercial pilot license. For 12 months - become a real pilot of a linear flight with the right to control large passenger liners. The cost of such courses is from $50,000.

Have you always dreamed of heaven? Piter Flight Aviation Club provides unique opportunity fly at the helm under the supervision of an experienced mentor or take small aircraft pilot courses and get real air rights.

You can choose any type of aircraft from the training fleet and the optimal flight training course, having received a solid theoretical base, practice for practicing piloting techniques and the necessary flight hours.

The issuance of pilot licenses in the North-West Regional District has been temporarily suspended. In this regard, in St. Petersburg, we conduct training courses for pilots of small aircraft - SVS and SLA-moto, training of amateur pilots is carried out to obtain piloting skills without taking into account the flight time. In the near future, the ATC will be opened and the full training of pilots will resume.

We offer four flight training programs to choose from

Flight training master classes

For those who have not yet decided, master classes on aircraft and helicopter control are available.

Each lesson includes theoretical part and briefing, familiarization with the basics of aerodynamics and the aircraft control system, basic instruments and flight stages - from takeoff to landing. Amateur pilot training How many of you thought, looking at an airplane flying in the sky, that he himself could be in the pilot's seat and perform dizzying aerobatic maneuvers or just fly from city to city on his own business? But it is available to almost everyone! We provide initial training for amateur pilots. Now 18 novice pilots from among the students and students of Moscow universities are engaged in the flying club. They undergo theoretical training in the flying club classes. On November 15, they all took to the air for the first time as passengers of the Yak-18T and Yak-52. At the same time, they took turns flying in the place of the co-pilot and took control in standard situations. After that, all the cadets made a parachute jump for the first time in their lives. Our aircraft fleet includes: Yak-18T, Yak-52, Yak-55, Su-26, Mi-2 (currently under repair). (for more detailed information see "Our fleet"). Airfields: The ATC of the NAC of Russia has two airfields at its disposal: "TUSHINO" has three unpaved lanes, equipped with the necessary equipment. For cross-country flights, five training routes with a duration of 30 minutes or more can be used. up to 1.5 hours. By decision of the State Civil Aviation Administration of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation, flights of civil aircraft at the Tushino airfield are temporarily prohibited. In the near future, only state aviation aircraft will continue to fly to Tushino. "BORKI" located 100 km. north of Moscow, has a concrete strip, navigation equipment. At the airport there is a hotel with all modern amenities. At the disposal of the educational part equipped classrooms and simulators. Flying is an old dream of mankind. Now, with the development of flying clubs, it is becoming more accessible. Flight training has long ceased to be considered the lot of the elite. Exists Government program pilot training and special techniques. If you want to learn, we will provide all the conditions for you. At your disposal is an aircraft designed in educational purposes and experienced instructor.

We will make you a pilot!

You will be trained to fly in full compliance with the Ultralight Pilot License with a maximum takeoff weight of up to 495 kg. This program is approved federal agency air transport. The training is led by an experienced pilot instructor with 11 years of piloting experience.

Flight training. What will you be able to do?

  1. Plan flights.
  2. Conduct pre-flight preparation (including calculations, inspection of the aircraft, preparation for the use of instruments and equipment).
  3. Start the power plant.
  4. Carry out taxiing, takeoff and landing.
  5. Maneuver within the established limitations for the aircraft this class and type.
  6. Take off and land on sites outside airfields.
  7. Fly along the route using visual references.
  8. Know and follow the procedures prescribed for special flight situations.
  9. Know the rules air traffic, rules of radiotelephony and phraseology.

These skills are fully consistent with the requirements for pilots of ultralight aircraft.

Airplane flight training. What does it look like?

As part of the training, you will complete general flight training and gain practical experience necessary to independently pilot an aircraft of this class and operate its equipment to the extent necessary for safe flight.

The training consists of a theoretical part and flight training and is carried out under the guidance of an authorized pilot-instructor.

flight training

The procedure for conducting a flight training lesson:

  • Pre-flight preparation. You do it yourself necessary calculations, inspect the aircraft, prepare instruments and equipment for use.
  • Getting a flight order. The task is issued by your instructor.
  • Training flight. The flight is carried out in accordance with the assigned task, with an instructor or independently (depending on the stage of training and the level of your training). As a rule, the flight is performed in a circle - for the development of takeoff and landing. To practice maneuvering and special cases (stall, engine failure, etc.), flights are made to the pilot area. At the final stages of training, subject to good preparation, flights are made along the developed route with landing at other airfields and on the site with selection from the air.

Skills of behavior in special cases of flight

As part of the training, skills of behavior in emergency and emergency situations are instilled:

  • Engine failure.
  • Control failure.
  • Emergency landing.
  • Stop and start the engine in flight.
  • Fire on the engine in flight.
  • The smell of gasoline in the cab.
  • Getting into the zone of dangerous weather conditions.
  • Recovery of an aircraft from an unintentional stall and spin.
  • Failure of the power supply system of devices with full and static pressure.

Flight hours

The training program for pilots of ultralight aircraft stipulates that in order to qualify as an amateur pilot, it is enough to fly 30 hours and 40 minutes. From these watches:

  • solo piloting time - 12 hours;
  • flight time on the route - 4 hours.

In fact, these standards do not fully take into account the individual characteristics of each cadet. To let him fly solo, the instructor must be convinced that the cadet is confident in the technique of piloting. After that, you need to independently fly at least 12 hours.
For the sake of safety and the full development of independent piloting, we recommend taking into account another norm developed by us in the process of practical training: 40-50 hours.

Our advantages

  • Extensive teaching and teaching experience. The pilot-instructor studied at the Austrian flying club, has 11 years of piloting and teaching experience.
  • Aircraft designed for training purposes. Fully redundant controls. During flights with an instructor, all your actions are closely monitored and insured.
  • Tandem crew layout. You sit in front, nothing blocks the view, no one distracts from the flight task. The instructor is behind you. He has the ability to insure you by taking control of himself.
  • Characteristics that ensure the safety of training. Ease of management. Low takeoff and landing speeds. Rescue system.

Airplane flight training. Price

The cost of all training is calculated based on the cost of a flight hour. In accordance with current regulations, we have set a minimum approved cost of 8,000 rubles.

In total, you need to fly at least 30 hours and 40 minutes.
