I was a little nervous, other students behaved calmly, some even came completely relaxed. Fortunately, the tasks were exactly the same in complexity as in the retake, and our seminarian and lecturer accepted.

At the end, when we had already handed in the work, many guys were left to wait for the assessment, and if someone lacked 0.2 or 0.5 points, then the inspectors tried to reach them: they asked additional questions, they asked again.

Students from other courses and faculties, including fourth-year students from the Minor in Philosophy, passed with us. Those of them who did not pass were immediately sent for expulsion. This situation had a strong impact on me, and I realized that a failed commission could end badly.

In my first year, I failed discrete mathematics and ended up on a commission.

According to the rigidity of the conduct, it did not differ from the exam and retake. Nevertheless, it seemed to me that the questions were simpler at the commission, although the attitude of the teacher did not change at all.

Because of the preparation for the Commission on Discrete Mathematics, I did not have time to prepare for the Difur exam and did not pass it. After the winter session, I went to the commission for difurs.

Difficulties arose with this commission: it was not very comfortable to hand it over. There were three teachers, one of them found fault and asked strange questions from other sections and areas of mathematics. But I managed to get out and passed everything.

At the summer session, I fell ill, but managed to get a certificate and had to pass all the exams in the new academic year. In the fall, I realized that I have eight debts, and if I manage to close them, I will not have time to prepare for a new session. I decided to finish only those subjects that I need to transfer to the course back. I used to study Applied Mathematics, now I could be in my third year. However, I transferred to another faculty for the second year.

This translation is my initiative because I wanted to change direction. I had few options: either transfer to another university without losing a year, or stay here on the same course. A number of subjects have already been credited to me, in the first module I took only one discipline.

They made an IEP for me. Now I'm on a paid basis, but I still pay part of the cost, since some of the items have already been credited. Payment is formed by loans: when an IEP is compiled, they look at how many subjects you have, what loans they have, and the cost of education is calculated.

It's hard to hand over your first commission on an emotional level. However, it is worth remembering that this is the same exam, only a little more teachers take it. Often they realize that the issue is being resolved: to leave or expel a person from the university, and therefore they are patient with those who pass. In the third semester, I did not pass the micro and financial markets. Then it turned out that the dean's office did not count English for this semester on the academic certificate from another university, although this was discussed in advance. As a result, I received three failures. In training, I was advised to try to take an IEP at a neighboring department or look for a way to transfer to other faculties. Management, logistics, public administration offered a transfer with the loss of a year. I was hindered by the difference in academic plans, its liquidation did not fit into the permitted annual loans.

I was able to transfer within the faculty: from the Department of Economics to Economics and Statistics. I know that when my classmate performed such an operation in the fourth semester, at the end of the second year, the academic difference did not allow him to do this and he was able to transfer only with the loss of a year.

The possibility of transition depends on the manager of the faculty and on the timing. At the Faculty of Economics, for example, there are set deadlines for the transfer, and the decision on the transfer is given not by the manager, but by the transfer committee of the dean's office.

No time to prepare

In the first year, we passed all our exams in one week, and it so happened that math analysis became the last exam, it was scheduled for December 26th. I prepared well for all the other exams, I did not have marks below 6. However, there was no time left for math analysis, and I got 0.

Rumor has it that there is such a tradition in Business Informatics: from year to year, the first year fails this exam, and I and half of the course were no exception. In addition, during the module I did not pay attention to this subject, I received bad grades. I thought that before the exam I would learn everything, but it turned out to be more difficult than it looked at first glance.

Before the exam, I prepared for several days on the Matprofi website, thinking that this would definitely help me. I left the exam in high spirits: I did five tasks, and three are enough to pass. Soon the results came, and I saw a grade of 0. All the holidays were ruined: the first year, the first retake, given that I graduated from school with a gold medal and studied on a budget!

Retake of the test is allowed in the direction of the dean no more than two times, as a rule, to the same teacher, and within the time limits established by the dean. The second retake of the test by the decision of the dean may be accepted by the commission.

The retake committee consists of the dean (deputy dean), the head of the department (deputy head) and, as a rule, two teachers.

24. Academic debt must be liquidated, as a rule, within a month from the beginning of the next semester, the deadline is one month from the beginning school year according to the schedule of the faculty.

It is forbidden to retake the results of the intermediate or final control of knowledge in order to increase a satisfactory grade (from 4 points on a 10-point scale).

Retake in the same discipline is allowed no more than two times.
Retakes are held at any level of the accumulated assessment in this discipline.
The first retake is conducted by the teacher who took the exam. Acceptance of the first retake by another teacher can be carried out only by agreement of the department with the teacher who conducted the Exam.
The procedure for the first retake must fully comply with the procedure for passing the Exam. Only the grade obtained in the Exam is subject to retake. The previously accumulated score cannot be changed.
The second retake of the Exam is accepted by a commission consisting of at least three people.

The second retake of the written exam is held in the presence of at least one member of the committee. A student who did not appear for a retake due to health reasons during the retake period is obliged to submit the conclusion of the clinical expert commission (hereinafter referred to as CEC) of the state, municipal health care institution at the place of constant observation of the student on the possibility of granting him academic leave for medical reasons. The student is obliged to independently learn about the results of knowledge control. Ignorance of the results of the knowledge control does not relieve the student from responsibility and cannot serve as an excuse for not appearing for a retake or violating the deadline for filing an appeal.
For graduate students, by decision of the dean, it is allowed to retake academic debts for the third or fourth modules before the start of the final state certification.

Students cannot be expelled without being given the opportunity to close the "tails"

The Ministry of Education and Science of Russia sent a letter to all universities stating that it is not allowed to charge students for retaking exams (the document is at the disposal of Izvestia). In addition, the department clarified that the expulsion of students who were not granted the right to retake is illegal. Ministry explains

“It is not allowed to charge students for passing intermediate certification (including repeated intermediate certification in order to eliminate academic debt),” the Ministry of Education and Science informs universities.

As stated in the letter, the ministry receives a large number of complaints from students who are expelled for academic debt without the right to retake. In this regard, the department clarifies that such a procedure for deductions is contrary to current legislation.

According to Art. 58 FZ "On education in Russian Federation”, the university does not have the right to expel a student who has received unsatisfactory results in one or more disciplines immediately after the session. He should be “given the opportunity to pass an intermediate certification in the relevant subject, course, discipline (module) no more than twice within one year from the moment of formation of academic debt.

“Thus, a student can be expelled for academic failure only in the following case: the student has an unliquidated academic debt, the organization has twice set deadlines for re-intermediate certification in order to eliminate academic debt, the student has not eliminated academic debt on time,” the ministry explains. .

Students complain

Izvestia found examples of universities where, according to students, the law is violated. - Complaints from students who are expelled for unsatisfactory results in exams without the right to retake come in all the time, Khromov says. -There are situations when students do not pass one test and they are not allowed to take exams at all. There may be objective or subjective reasons why a student did not pass a subject, but the right to access exams cannot be denied. Whether he will surrender later is another question, but such a right should be granted, he says.

The Student Ombudsman will monitor the observance of the law by universities - to identify cases of unlawful expulsion of students and retake fees.

There are also complaints from students about what they take cash for absenteeism and retakes. Universities are justified

Representatives of universities reacted differently to accusations of violating the law - for example, the DSU admitted their mistake, while the Chelyabinsk university does not believe that they are acting illegally.

Aziza Gasangadzhiyeva, head of the educational and methodological department of DSU, noted that after receiving clarifications from the ministry, the university revised its internal documents.

This semester, after receiving an explanation, we no longer expelled. Previously, we were guided by our charter, which was approved by the Ministry of Education, where it was stated that if a student receives three or more unsatisfactory grades in a session, the student is expelled. Now the documents have already been revised, we are developing a new regulation and charter, which will take into account the explanation of the ministry, she said.

The FEFU press service explained that at the university during the session, students have an unlimited number of attempts to pass the exam.

In our session - for example, summer, from June 1 to June 30 - a student can take one subject an unlimited number of times. And if he closes it before the end of the session, then this is not considered a retake. Retake - this is if the attempt is transferred to the next semester. Tamara Makarenko, director of the Chi BSUEP, confirmed that the practice of paid additional courses is widespread at the institute, but she considers this to be legal.

Boss legal management SPbSUE Pavel Smirnov noted that the regulation on the current monitoring of progress, in his opinion, does not contain a violation of the Federal Law "On Education in the Russian Federation", however, in connection with the information received, the university will conduct an additional check for compliance with the provision of the law.

Other universities, whose students complain about the violations, were unable to promptly provide a comment.

A student who did not pass at least one test should not have been admitted to the examination session at all.
Conclusion. There is only one way out - to study on a contractual (contract) basis. Otherwise, it is impossible to resolve the situation either theoretically or practically. As you can see, moral support failed.
