When will the bridge in Chulkovo be built? Novoryazanskoe highway will be expanded towards the region.

Until recently, the southeast of the Moscow region was an outsider - industrial zones, dense buildings, the federal highway "Ural", always busy and dangerous. Now the reconstruction of Novoryazanskoye highway and the construction of the metro have been completed big changes.

In September 2016, Novoryazanskoye Highway began to move faster - the long-awaited flyover was built on Volgogradsky Prospekt, st. Lyublinskaya and Ostapovsky passage, driving pockets appeared for public transport. As a result, the speed of movement along Volgogradsky Prospekt increased by 25-30% and relieved traffic flow well on Novoryazanka. Not only residents of the city of Lyubertsy began to get to the capital faster, but also residents of the districts of Brateevo, Maryino, Lyublino, Tekstilshchiki, Kuzminki, Kapotnya and Zhulebino.

The disadvantage is the lack of intercepting parking (many people have to leave their cars in the yards, which annoys both residents and motorists from the suburbs). However, in the near future a large interchange hub will be built on the Ryazan highway and new metro stations in the Novoryazanka area - this will simplify the situation.

What are they doing? The construction of the Kotelniki metro station is underway.

A branch of the light metro is being designed, which should go into the depths of the Moscow region.

Preparations are underway for the implementation of the project for the reconstruction of Novoryazanskoye Highway, the main objects of reconstruction are the flyover and the elevated pedestrian bridge.

Tomorrow (2017 - 2018)

They promise to open a junction at the intersection of the Lytkarinsky highway and the M-5 Ural highway in the urban district of Lyubertsy. It should link the M-5 Ural road, Lytkarinsky Highway and a section of the planned regional highway"Lytkarino - Tomilino - Kraskovo - Zheleznodorozhny", as well as the territories of the urban districts of Lytkarino, Lyubertsy and the Ramensky district. The interchange will significantly expand and unload the Novoryazanskoye highway, the M-5 Ural federal highway and provide a hassle-free exit from Lytkarino. Also, thanks to it, congestion in the area of the Harvest stop will decrease. An overpass with 3 traffic lanes in each direction will be built on Novoryazanskoye Highway. Novoryazanskoe highway will be expanded to 5 lanes in each direction, lanes for public transport and side lanes with traffic lights on both sides of the road will be equipped. To ensure traffic safety, it is necessary to build an elevated pedestrian bridge and install fences.

Day after tomorrow (until 2020)

In the next three years, Novoryazanskoye highway will become exemplary up to about 25 kilometers from the Moscow Ring Road. Further, it is planned to begin construction of several backup roads, in particular, bypassing Oktyabrsky and Ostrovtsy, in order to save these areas from freight transport. Next - to continue the construction of the Novoryazanskoe highway bypassing Bronnitsy to the Urals. Now Novoryazanskoye Highway, from about 50 to 115 kilometers, remains one of the most dangerous in the region: there is no median, and the speeds and flows of freight transport are extremely high, so head-on collisions often occur on the road. The route is most unsafe from Bronnitsy to Kolomna. It is not yet known when this section will be reconstructed.

Reconstruction Volgogradki Novoryazanka - highway M-5

These plans were told in FKU "Centravtomagistral"

Oktyabrsky will be bypassed on the left

Interchange in Chulkovo to be completed

Text: Vasily IVANOV

Reconstruction Volgogradki in Moscow is nearing completion, and the interchange of this route with the Moscow Ring Road has already been updated. But summer residents are well aware that in the region the reconstruction of the main highways is noticeably behind what we see in Moscow. This fully applies to Novoryazanka - highway M-5. Last year, a bypass of Bronnitsy was launched here: a 12-kilometer section of the new road from the concrete road A-107 to the village. Ulyanino. But when and how will the other problems of the highway be solved?

These plans were told in the FKU "Tsentravtomagistral" (this is the department of "Rosavtodor", serving federal highways in the Moscow region, it is the customer of the reconstruction of these roads).

Oktyabrsky will be bypassed on the left

Perhaps the most anticipated element of the updated Novoryazanka today is the detour of Oktyabrsky and Ostrovtsy. According to FKU "Tsentravtomagisral", its project is already ready.

The detour will begin with a large interchange, which will be built at the confluence of the Ryazanskoye and Novoryazanskoye highways. Old Ryazanka will pass under the flyover and further - to Oktyabrsky, along the current trajectory of the road. And the main course of the updated M-5 (5 rows in each direction) will be allowed on top, along the flyovers, and then - completely new road, which will pass to the left of Oktyabrsky and Ostrovtsy. An 11 km long detour will get interchanges with the Mikhnevsky and Ostrovetskoye highways and will go to the Moskva River not far from existing bridge in front of the village of Chulkovo.

The deadlines have been pushed back, but in 2016-2017, preparation of the territory will still begin at the construction site, funds for this have already been allocated. The construction of the bypass will begin no earlier than 2018 and will last approximately 4-5 years.

Interchange in Chulkovo to be completed

Last year, when the left turn to Zhukovsky, located on the M-5 immediately after the Moskva River in the village of Chulkovo, was reconstructed, motorists immediately noticed one “oddity”. Before the reconstruction, there was a traffic light here, now there is a two-level interchange, but traffic jams before the turn did not decrease, but ... grew! And the thing is that a section appeared at the junction - a small one, 100 meters - where the entire federal highway narrows to 1 lane in each direction!

Of course, there was a reason to organize traffic in this way: the exit to the highway from the interchange was covered with something like a safety island, so that those who drive in a straight line and those who are going to merge into the stream do not immediately fall into one lane. But there is a problem: before the reconstruction there were two rows, and although they were held by a traffic light, the flow moved faster. Motorists are perplexed: what will happen when the Oktyabrsky bypass is built? Is it possible that 5 rows will merge into one?!

Of course not. According to the Tsentravtomagistral FKU, as part of the construction of the Oktyabrsky bypass across the river, two separate bridges for oncoming flows will be built, each with 5 rows. At the same time, an interchange in the village of Chulkovo will be completed. 2 rows out of 5 will go to Zhukovsky, and 3 will go in a straight line to Ryazan.

How to stretch the M-5 Ural in Oktyabrsky and Ostrovets July 20th, 2015

The section of the Novoryazanskoye Highway from the confluence with the Ryazanskoye Highway to the Moskva River in Zaozerye is one of the most traffic jams in the Moscow Region. In the morning and evening hour the peak travel of ten kilometers takes at best 50-60 minutes. And in the "country" hours there are traffic jams for 2-3 hours or more.

I have been asked to take over this place dozens of times. stopped decision on the construction of a bypass for Oktyabrsky and Ostrovtsy (from 28 to 37 km), which would allow transit traffic to bypass residential areas and finally put an end to traffic jams in this section. The bypass was even designed by order of FKU "Tsentravtomagistral", you can evaluate the future traffic organization project.

Someday the bypass of Oktyabrsky and Ostrovtsy will go like this.

However, construction was postponed six months ago for financial reasons. Apparently, after all, it is fate for us to do it.

But before prescribing treatment, it was necessary to make a diagnosis. And our “patient” is severely neglected, his disease has been developing for a long time and has metastasized. One thing was immediately clear: improvements at one or two intersections were not enough, the entire ten-kilometer section with its 10 traffic lights needed to be analyzed.

Where did you start
First of all, I opened a brainstorming thread on Roads.ru, asking the members of the forum traveling on the M-5 to post their analysis of the problems and their suggestions. Many responded, I will mark the help int13H, crenlot, abric, ax3, kold777, magistr_tk, RoadMan, Lord_Teo, JuNiK. All collected during brainstorming I laid out the proposals on a summary map, marking all the proposals at the point of each traffic light.

As a result of this work, it became in general terms it is clear which traffic lights create the greatest traffic jams, at what time and why, the main contours of solutions have been outlined.

She helped a lot with the traffic lights of the traffic police of the Moscow region in the person of the 2nd regiment of the traffic police serving the M-5 highway: from there they sent traffic light cards of all 10 traffic lights according to the schemes of phase-by-phase passing ("by phases") and programs for the time of day and days of the week ("timers") .

As analyzed
But all this was not even half the battle. It was necessary to bring all these data into such a form that a single “diagnostic map” would be obtained, on the basis of which decisions could be made for each intersection. Despite the experience in solving road problems, we have not yet taken on tasks of this magnitude. But after sitting on the task for a couple of days, I still found a way to reduce 20 A4 sheets into a table on 1 screen.

What does this give us? All the problems and inconsistencies of 10 traffic lights, their mutual arrangement, phases, causes of problems immediately become visible. Let's say it became clear why at intersection 4 near the shopping center in Oktyabrskoye Shosse it is constantly locked. And intersection 6 in Ostrovtsy (Centralnaya Street - Zavodskaya Street) turned out to be the only one where the left turn is made directly from the left lane, and not from the pocket, as a result, only 1 (one!) lane remains to go straight to the region. Traffic lights 7 and 8 are only 230 meters apart and their cycles simply have to be synchronized.

With the power of Excel the values of throughput and phase coefficients are calculated automatically, according to formulas, which greatly simplifies the work, and for straight lanes, I introduced reducing coefficients due to slowing right turns.

The main thing that catches your eye: traffic light modes are configured as God puts on the soul. On one there are 3 programs, on the other 1, on the third 2. And the length of the cycles at different traffic lights at the same time of the day varies from 56 to 250 seconds. There is no difference between "dacha" programs for entry and exit from the city, and so on. Not surprisingly, the estimated throughput of intersections in the forward direction is not only small, but also differs at many nodes by more than 1.5 times! Such places in the right column are marked in orange (2100-2350 cars per hour in the forward direction during rush hour) and red (less than 2100 cars per hour).

Traffic light suggestions
Having a summary diagnostic table with automatically calculated throughput values, it was already possible to work with phase lengths and programs, aligning them. It went easier, though I wouldn't say faster. After a couple of days of work, the “as it should” table took on this form.

For 8 intersections out of 10, it was deemed necessary to make 3 cycle lengths: 120 for off-peak, 150 for average traffic and 190 for peak traffic; at 2 intersections, the cycle length had to be increased to 160-190-250 seconds, since they are nearby and it is necessary to ensure their synchronous operation. Programs of work are proposed somewhere 3, and somewhere 5: the intensity of left turns in the morning and in the evening is different. At intersections 4 and 5 it was necessary to add "exhaust" phases against locking.

Expected results visible on the right in the throughput tables: 6 "red" and 2 "orange" dots turned into 5 orange. To pull up throughput places in the orange zone, either re-marking will be required (2 points at intersection No. 6), or local measures (right-turn pockets, transitional speed lanes), or the cancellation of some phases and directions. However, the real situation may turn out to be better, since I did not take into account the "turnaround" flows to the exit, and they are quite significant.

Markup Suggestions
For two nodes out of 10, we did not limit ourselves to traffic lights alone. There you can increase both security and throughput with a simple repartition!

The worst node in terms of throughput is No. 6 (Central - Factory) in Ostrovets. Due to the displacement of the axis, a left-handed pocket can be gained.

Now

Necessary

Phase travel

And this is the most emergency-dangerous node - the confluence of Novoryazanskoye and Staroryazanskoye highways.

3 lanes per area here cleverly turn into 2 right before the traffic lights. Moreover, contrary to logic, it ends with the left lane, and not the right one: it is not surprising that they constantly violate and get into an accident here. In the direction of Moscow, everything is also stupid: 2 lanes turn into 3 immediately after the intersection, preventing you from safely leaving the Ryazan highway towards Moscow.

What is most interesting, the third lane into the region becomes unnecessary from the Lytkarinsky interchange itself. Because up to 30% of the flow goes from Novoryazanskoye to the south and north, that is, in fact, 1 lane out of 3!

And there are no junctions on the section from the interchange to the intersection. It turns out that the flow of 2 lanes after the junction is uselessly “smeared” into 3 lanes ... so that after a kilometer before the intersection it will again be built into 2.

The solution suggests itself: either make the right lane from the Lytkarinsky interchange to the confluence with the Ryazansky one selected or close it.

And at the crossroads at the confluence, everything is neatly canalized.

What's next?
The 2nd regiment of the traffic police of the traffic police of the Moscow region has already approved our proposals. In FKU "Tsentravtomagistral" preliminary also do not object, now we are waiting for their decision on implementation. It is important to do all this in a complex this year, we will insist on this.

Will Novoryazanskoye Highway get rid of traffic jams? Of course not. But we can say with confidence that the traffic parameters will improve: the speed of travel will increase, the interval for observing traffic jams and their length will be reduced. This will make it possible to somehow put everything in order here in anticipation of the construction of the Oktyabrsky and Ostrovtsy bypass.

When all this is done, I will definitely write about it, I will ask you feedback.

By the way, there will soon be news from FKU Tsentravtomagistral on Ilyinsky Highway. And the news is good: our proposals have been generally accepted and are already being implemented. But more on that next time.

In the Moscow region, large-scale work is underway to build new highways and interchanges, which should relieve the burden on existing roads. Projects are implemented in all areas and have different time frames. What major road construction projects are being carried out in the region, what new transport facilities will change and what highways will unload, read the site in the material of the portal.

Central Ring Road

Source: Photobank of the Moscow Region, Alexander Shchemlyaev

The construction of the Central Ring Road is called the largest and most ambitious project in the Moscow Region. The total length of the Central Ring Road will be 525 km, the route is designed to relieve urban highways, including Moscow ring. It will pass through the territory of the Moscow region and New Moscow, 50 km from the Moscow Ring Road.

The construction of the Central Ring Road began in 2014 - from the first launch complex. It is planned that he and the fifth launch complex will be opened in 2018. The remaining sections of the Central Ring Road will be handed over later: the third and fourth - in 2019. But the last section - the second launch complex - is planned to be completed by the mid-2020s.

The new ring will bypass settlements, connecting only with the largest. The capacity of the Central Ring Road will be 70-80 thousand cars per day.

It is expected that the road will significantly free the Moscow outbound highways (those that have an extension in the Moscow region) and the Moscow Ring Road from the transit transportation of goods, reduce the cost freight traffic and transport costs. Due to the fact that there will be no intracity transport on the Central Ring Road, the speed of car advance will also increase - 100-120 km / h against the usual 20-30 km / h on the Moscow Ring Road. The Central Ring Road will create large international transport corridors in the Moscow region. For example, it will be possible to get from Nizhny Novgorod to London or Helsinki.

Meteorological observation stations will appear on the Central Ring Road and automated system traffic control, it will be equipped with rest stops for drivers and roadside services. Also on the route will be provided 70-80 underground passages for pedestrians, and there will also be overhead crossings for animals.

Interchange in Krasnogorsk

Source: The construction of a two-level transport interchange at the intersection of Volokolamskoye and Ilyinskoye highways in the city district began in 2016. The interchange includes a flyover in the direction of Krasnogorsk - Mitino, a turning loop and a flyover on Ilyinsky Highway, consisting of two parts - in the direction from Ilyinsky Highway to the capital and back.

According to Governor Andrey Vorobyov, at present this site is one of the most problematic in the region. The speed of traffic on it rarely exceeds 20 km / h. However, the situation will change very soon.

A multi-level interchange will connect the two parts of Krasnogorsk and unravel the problem nodes. Under the overpass of the main traffic there will be an exit from Volokolamskoye to Ilyinskoye Highway - from Moscow, and an exit from Ilyinsky to Volokolamskoye Highway - in the direction of the region. It is also planned that the new transport facility will facilitate the exit from Krasnogorsk and the Istra region, partially relieve the burden on Novorizhskoe highway. The overpass will have four lanes of traffic, two lanes in each direction. The total length of the interchange will exceed nine kilometers, and its prospective capacity will be more than 100,000 vehicles per day.

The project is divided into three launch complexes. Works on the ground launch complex.

Junctions on the Gorky Highway

Source: Ministry of Transport and Road Infrastructure of the Moscow Region Reconstruction Gorky highway currently being carried out in three directions - the construction of interchanges 4 km from the Moscow Ring Road (adjacent to the Bypass Highway), 6 km (intersection with Sovetskaya Street) and 7 km (adjacent to the Leonovskoye Highway). In 2017, it is planned to start construction of the fourth interchange on the Eastern Highway.

Thanks to the reconstruction of the route, traffic jams from Moscow and Noginsk should disappear, since the overpasses will be through, without traffic lights. Upon completion of work, the transit overpasses will retain three traffic lanes in each direction, and on both sides of the overpasses there will be parallel two-lane roads for city vehicles. As a result, will be removed most of loads from the private sector, including from Saltykovka and Nikolsko-Arkhangelskoye, which is now receiving a large transit flow, bypassing traffic jams in Gorkovka.

And the fourth interchange will provide transport accessibility of the Sacramento microdistrict. Currently, to get there from Moscow, drivers are forced to turn around in the Noginsk district, because the left turn from the highway to the microdistrict is closed.

Overpass across the railway in Dolgoprudny

The editors of the Portal of the Roads of Russia

The federal highway M-5 "Ural" with a length of over 1800 km passes through the territory of ten subjects of Russia - Moscow, Ryazan, Penza, Samara, Sverdlovsk, Chelyabinsk, Ulyanovsk and Orenburg regions, as well as the Republics of Bashkortostan and Mordovia. It starts from the Moscow Ring Road in Moscow and stretches to Chelyabinsk through Ryazan, Penza, Samara. The route is part of the North-South (NS) international transport corridor, the European route E-30 Cork (Ireland) - Omsk and the Asian route AH-7 Ekaterinburg - Karachi (Pakistan). Last year, the M-5 road appeared more than once in the media. The DorInfo portal has collected the most significant and high-profile events that took place on the highway in 2017. Repair and reconstruction of road facilities, improving traffic safety, accidents and many kilometers of traffic jams - all this in one material.

Road works on the M-5 Ural highway: what and where was done in 2017

Last year, on the federal highway M-5 "Ural" within the boundaries Moscow region over 100 km of the roadway was restored. In the course of the work, specialists replaced the road surface, repaired junctions and exits, strengthened roadsides and slopes, and applied road markings.

So, the road was brought to the normative state in both directions from km 86 to km 94, from km 94 to km 101, from km 101 to km 109, from km 109 to km 117 -th km and from the 117th km to the 124th. Not only the road surface was repaired, but also artificial structures - five overpasses and two bridges across the Moscow River. Specialists repaired spans, supports and cones, restored stairs, replaced expansion joints and equipped with waterproofing, laid a new bridge deck, installed fences and applied road markings. In particular, such work was carried out in the Kolomna region on overpasses in the area of km 104 and 106, as well as on river bridges in the area of km 35 and 105.

AT Ryazan region last year, a section of the M-5 Ural highway from km 241 to km 245 was reconstructed. In the course of the work, the road workers made the section four-lane, brought ramps and junctions to the standard, arranged turnaround loops and transition lanes, installed a 1 km noise screen near residential buildings, built a drainage system and installed new treatment facilities. The reconstruction made it possible to eliminate the "bottleneck", which was located near the villages of Dobry Sot and Zarechye in the Spassky district. In addition, 145 road signs and 9 km of new fencing appeared on the highway, two pedestrian crossings were equipped with traffic lights, thermoplastic markings were applied to the roadway, and street lighting was installed.

Reconstruction work also touched upon the bridge over the Pronya River. For the convenience of motorists, specialists added a new one to the existing structure, labor movement which opened in 2015. On the old “half”, movable supports were straightened and protective casings were installed, damage was eliminated and the protective layer was restored, the main beams were reinforced, and the bridge deck was leveled, expansion joints were replaced, drainage and stairs were repaired. Also in Ryazan in 2017 continued construction works at the interchange, which is located at the intersection of the M-5 "Ural" and R-132 "Kaluga - Ryazan" highways. Currently, traffic is allowed on the right lane M-5 and the right semicircle.

On the section of the M-5 highway passing through the territory Penza region , restored the worn-out coating on the section from km 540 to km 548 in the Nizhnelomovsky district and from km 662 to km 678 in the Gorodishchensky district. On the Penza bypass, the reconstruction of the section from km 634 to km 645 took place, during which the roadway became four-lane. Specialists also built an interchange at the intersection of M-5 and Austrina Street. The object allowed to reduce the time spent on the road, heading from the Bessonovsky district to Penza. The second interchange, which appeared on the 645th km of the M-5 highway, provided a free exit from Chaadaev Street to federal road towards the village of Chemodanovka. In addition, in 2017, vehicular traffic was opened along the repaired overpass across the railway crossing and the reconstructed bridge across the Sura River.

AT Ulyanovsk region road workers continued the reconstruction of the road from km 814 to km 835. Passage through a two-lane section was allowed within the boundaries of the Nikolaevsky district in mid-September. As part of the work, engineering structures were rebuilt, a culvert system was built, and pavement was arranged. Also, work was underway on the bridge under construction across the stream, where the beams of the superstructure were mounted, a fence was installed and a drainage system was arranged. The renovation is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2018.

In Togliatti ( Samara Region) ahead of schedule, they repaired the bridge across the Volga, which is located in the area of the 970th km of M-5 near the Zhigulevskaya hydroelectric power station. Work at the facility proceeded around the clock in four stages. Specialists restored the expansion joints, repaired the structural elements of the bridge, replaced the drainage pipes and arranged drainage channels, the road surface was laid in two layers.

AT Republic of Bashkortostan Repair work was carried out on two sections with a total length of 18 km. In November, specialists overhauled the 1281st km. Coastal and intermediate supports were restored at the facility, the bridge deck was renewed, expansion joints and adapter plates were replaced, the drainage system was repaired, the cones were strengthened and structural elements under the bridge were restored. After the reconstruction, a section was opened at the 1418th km. In the course of the work, the road surface was replaced, the roadway was widened and two pipes were installed.

The overhaul was completed in 2017 at the entrance to Yekaterinburg ( Sverdlovsk region) in the section from km 138 to km 143 and from km 191 to km 193. In addition, the road builders repaired the overpass across the highway in the area of km 185, as well as interchanges at km 139, km 157, km 161, km 178 and km 185. AT Chelyabinsk region on sections of the M-5 highway, about 60 km of the road surface was restored. Seven artificial structures brought to the normative state: bridges over the rivers Kuvashi (1722 km), Bishbaital (1851 km), Serazak (1863 km), as well as two overpasses over railway crossings - in the area of 1852 km and the 1777th km.

Traffic restrictions on the M-5 Ural highway

On the federal highway M-5 Ural in 2017, traffic restrictions were mainly introduced on the above sections in connection with current and major repairs, construction and reconstruction. This is usually about narrowing the road or organizing travel in reverse order. In addition, on the segment from km 943 to km 972, which passes through the territory Samara region, from May 1 to November 30, from 7:00 to 22:00, restrictions were in place for heavy trucks weighing over 3.5 tons and dimensions over 3.4 meters. This decision was taken from the repair work. The highway near Yekaterinburg was blocked twice at night due to the installation of superstructures of pedestrian crossings. The restrictions were in effect for half an hour.

Spring 2017 melt water a section of the M-5 Ural highway in the Alekseevsky district of the Samara region was washed away from the fields, which led to subsidence of the roadway and, accordingly, the impossibility of travel.

Restrictions were repeatedly imposed on the M-5 highway due to adverse meteorological conditions. So, in winter, heavy snowfall, gusty winds and snowstorms led to reduced visibility. The longest closed section over the past year was the segment in the Samara region. To prevent accidents, the road was closed from km 890 to km 1194. The length of the closed section was over 300 km. By the way, because of this, on the road, which lasted about a day.

Enhance Security traffic on the highway M-5 "Ural"

To improve the safety of road users and reduce accidents on the M-5 Ural highway, last year the road workers carried out a number of measures. In particular, in the Moscow region, to prevent accidents involving pedestrians, a new fence appeared on sections from 27 km to 85 km. An underpass was also repaired in the area of the 28th km of the highway near the village of Oktyabrsky. Its ground part was protected by a polycarbonate canopy, a railing was installed, lighting was installed, a drainage system was restored, and an automatic platform was arranged for the descent and ascent of low-mobility groups. In total, 34 cameras for photo and video recording were installed on the highway traffic violations, five traffic counts and six weather stations. According to FKU Tsentravtomagistral, from January to November 2017, the region recorded a decrease in accidents by almost 20% compared to the same period in 2016.

In 2017, within the boundaries of the Ryazan, Penza, Saratov, Ulyanovsk and Samara regions, the highway was equipped with a lighting system at 14 unregulated pedestrian crossings, traffic lights appeared at eight crossings. In the Samara region, more than 6 km of anti-glare screens were installed along the axis of the barrier fence. In order to prevent cars from entering the oncoming lane, more than 2 km of cable fencing was installed in the Penza region, and about 300 meters more appeared at the entrance to Samara. During the overhaul, 17 bus stops and 17 unregulated pedestrian crossings were equipped with an autonomous lighting system. According to the statistics of FKU "Povolzhupravtodor", the measures taken have reduced the number of accidents on the M-5 highway in these regions by 9%. For 11 months of 2017, 1137 accidents occurred, in which 348 people died, another 1863 people were injured. In 2016, 1247 accidents were recorded with 356 deaths and 1863 injured.

On the section of the route from km 1214 to km 1217, passing through the territory of Bashkiria, specialists replaced almost a thousand linear meters of barrier fencing. Also, on the segment from km 1401 to km 1449, duplicate road signs at 17 pedestrian crossings.

According to the statistics of FKU Uprdor "Priuralye", in the subordinated sections of M-5 in 2017, the accident rate decreased by 19.4%. So, in 2016 there were 201 accidents against 162 in 2017. At the same time, the number of victims decreased by about 28% - from 292 to 209 people, and the number of deaths by 7.5% - from 53 to 49 people. The Office added that the number of accidents that occurred due to poor road conditions decreased by 64% compared to 2016.

A metal barrier fence to separate oncoming flows appeared at all sections of the overhaul of the M-5 Ural highway in the Sverdlovsk region. In addition, to improve safety, lighting poles were installed and above-ground modular pedestrian crossings were installed in the areas of km 191 and km 193 near bus stops. To prevent pedestrians from entering the roadway, sidewalks with railings to public transport stops are equipped. In addition, two reversal loops have been installed at the 191st km and 193rd km of the entrance to Yekaterinburg. FKU Uralupravtodor reported that the measures taken had a positive impact on the reduction of accidents in the region on the M-5 highway, and also increased the throughput of the transport hub.

On the territory of the Chelyabinsk region in 2017, specialists replaced and installed over 10.5 thousand linear meters of a side metal fence and installed about 11.3 linear meters of an axial fence. Three pedestrian crossings in the area of km 1779 (“Miass”), km 1840 (“Birgilda village”) and km 1843 (“Vitaminny village”) were equipped with lighting with motion sensors and traffic lights. To improve the safety of road users, it is forbidden to turn left at km 1799 federal highway. Warning boards "Accidentally hazardous area" were installed in six places. In FKU Uprdor " Southern Urals» noted that last year, in the places where work was carried out to improve the level of traffic safety, there was a decrease in the accident rate and the severity of the consequences of road accidents compared to the same period in 2016.

Major accidents on the M-5 Ural highway in 2017

The federal highway M-5 "Ural" is very popular with motorists - several tens of thousands of cars a day pass through it every day, accidents often occur on the road, in which people die and are injured. The cause of car accidents is the exit to the "oncoming lane", violation speed limit, non-observance of a safe distance, overturning of the vehicle into a ditch. Bad weather can also lead to accidents.
