Recycling plastic bottles as a business with calculations. Collection of plastic bottles Solving an environmental problem

For and topic today building a plastic recycling business.

As you know, PET plastic bottles and other types of plastic practically do not rot, you cannot burn such material, as it does great harm. environment and as a rule it is simply buried by tractors in city dumps.

At one time, I myself was interested in the topic of recycling and I conducted a kind of study of this issue.

As it turned out, not everything is as simple as I thought (in general, it always is), all landfills are controlled by special organizations and, as they say, everything is “captured” to get access to the garbage, as ridiculous as it sounds, I did not succeed, since this market has been divided for a long time and as they say, the channels are established.

Therefore, a newcomer to the plastic recycling business may have problems at the very beginning - this is the raw material for recycling. If you manage to solve this issue, then the business is 50% successful.

Of course, you can arrange plastic collection points, as well as arrange special garbage cans around the city with separation into paper, glass and plastic (as is done in most countries of the world), but here again the problem is the mentality of a Russian person, he doesn’t care what and where to throw , so you can find anything in your plastic container.

It was a preface to a business plan based on my own observations.

PET bottle recycling business plan

It is necessary to start this business with the official registration of the business, for this you need. I suggest as the best option.

When registering an LLC, you must select the type of activity:

37.20 Treatment of non-metallic waste and scrap

It is quite enough to indicate this group in order to engage in this business, but in general we are interested in a subgroup ( 37.20.2 Treatment of waste and scrap plastics), but this subgroup is included in the group that I specified initially and therefore indicate it as you can in which case, engage in all types of processing that are included in the group:

  1. Waste rubber treatment;
  2. Processing of waste and scrap plastics;
  3. Processing of waste and scrap glass;
  4. Waste processing of textile materials;
  5. Processing paper and cardboard waste;
  6. Processing of waste gems.

So if you choose OKVED 37.02, you will be able to use all of the listed activities.

PET recycling taxation

I would choose as a taxation system, this is due to the fact that UTII cannot be applied, and there are not so many expenses in this business. Although it is still worth making calculations on the simplified tax system (15%), perhaps in your case such a tax will be more profitable. But I'm still leaning towards the STS Income (6%).

Premises for the organization of processing

About the processing room plastic bottles PET, then it must be looked for in the industrial area. The area should be large enough to accommodate all the equipment.

In some cities, targeted programs are being carried out and various discounts and preferences are given to businesses that deal with waste processing. You may even be able to rent a room from the administration.

The probability is certainly not great, but it's still worth a try. In this case, the cost of renting a room will be mere pennies, and in some cases even free of charge. Since every city is interested in improving the environmental situation.

What equipment is required for processing

Once you have found a space for your PET bottle recycling business, it’s time to start choosing equipment.

Processing equipment can be purchased in modules, or you can purchase a complete processing line at once.

I would choose the second option. I also want to note that you should not buy used equipment. It is better to overpay and take a new line.

The composition of the PET bottle recycling line:

  1. Paper Disposal and Cover Remover;
  2. Crusher. Cuts plastic into small pieces;
  3. steam boiler. Eliminates unnecessary elements from the resulting mass (using hot water);
  4. polishing machine;
  5. rinsing machine;
  6. Dryer. The cleaned plastic is dried in it. After all the procedures, a flex is obtained, which is placed in a special bunker.

Flex is a recycled material for the production of new PET bottles (looks like plastic flakes).

As I said earlier, I recommend purchasing a full-cycle line, just as almost every manufacturer provides a supervised installation service. That is, specialists come and install the line, as well as start processing and receive the first batch of flex.

PET bottle recycling process

Before starting a plastic bottle recycling business, an entrepreneur should become familiar with the recycling process itself.

Consider what you need to know about the recycling process:

  1. Distribution of PET bottles. Before entering the line, the bottles must be sorted by color;
  2. Bottle cleaning. Each bottle must be cleaned of debris: paper, rubber and other debris that may fall on the bottle;
  3. Delivery to the processing line. After the first two points, you can start the line for processing and pressing, the most interesting thing: the first 2 points are made by hand.

Where to get raw materials for processing?

I already touched on this issue at the beginning of the article, so let's determine where you can get raw materials for your processing business:

  • Conclude an agreement with the city dump. An attempt, as they say, is not torture, you may be able to do it, so try by any means;
  • Reception points. Open PET bottle collection points around the city, for little money you can start accepting raw materials in this way;
  • Urns for plastic. It is better to expose several urns: for plastic, paper and glass, otherwise everything will be thrown into your lonely standing urn. It is necessary to place the urns around the city in crowded places. Coordinate this issue with the administration in advance. At 90% they will not mind, but it is necessary to agree on it.

Profitability of the PET recycling business

Let's look at the profitability of such a business. It is really quite difficult to do this, since there are many unknowns: rent (perhaps the administration will generally give you a place for your activities free of charge), the supply of raw materials, the equipment that you will purchase, the size of the salary of workers, etc. Everything may differ from the region in which you open a processing business.

So I will derive the average cost of recycling plastic bottles:

  1. Equipment (middle price category) - 3,000,000 rubles;
  2. The cost of raw materials for processing - 30,000 rubles;
  3. Wages of employees for 6 people -120,000 rubles.
  4. The cost of contributions to the Pension Fund, Compulsory Medical Insurance Fund, FSS - about 40,000 rubles.
  5. Utilities about 10,000 rubles.

That's probably all! You can ask questions in the VK group, the link to it is at the beginning of the article, or you can simply ask directly in the comments to the article.

Successful business! Bye!

Growing interest in the organization own business has been observed for more than a year. At the same time, most individuals and huge companies are increasingly paying tribute to environmental protection in order to preserve their health and the future of the planet.

That is why one of the ideas that are gaining popularity is the recycling of PET bottles.

Since any projects that help improve people's living conditions are at the peak of popularity, bottle recycling is a relevant business idea. Given the fact that so far in our country practically no one is doing this, we can conclude that any novice entrepreneur has a chance to gain a foothold in the industry and start making decent money.

However, this kind of business has its drawbacks, which in fact can be considered as obstacles to the successful implementation of the idea:

  • Difficulties associated with opening. Since this area is poorly regulated by law, the preparation of documentation itself is a rather complicated process. In addition, it is necessary to obtain a large number of permits from various kinds of structures. As a result, the whole process can take from 5 to 8 months (which is quite a long time compared to other activities).
  • Difficulty in establishing a sufficiently stable supply of raw materials. In order to really make money in the processing industry, it is necessary to establish a process so that raw materials are constantly available. On the other hand, a problem of a different nature stands out here - it is not always clear where processed products can be sold.
  • High dependence on manual labor. In all situations where a business depends precisely on this type of work, it is necessary to organize employees in such a way that they form Friendly team Otherwise, the efficiency of the activity will tend to zero. To simplify the solution of this problem can build a system of motivation.

At the same time, the advantages of this business cover all possible disadvantages. So, among them stand out:

  • High profitability. The ratio of profit and revenue will be about 25%, which is significantly higher than in other areas.
  • Loyal attitude of people to such activities. If many companies have a controversial image among the population, then a bottle recycling entrepreneur will definitely be respected among the residents. This may guarantee some support from their side.
  • Environmental projects are now easier receive support from the government and local authorities.
  • Many companies strive to be socially responsible and in some way protect the environment. At the same time, they often do not want to do this, because if this is not their main profile, it can be extremely unprofitable with economic point vision and adversely affect performance. Therefore, they prefer to invest in such projects.

Technology of the processing process

The technology is carried out in this way:

  1. First, plastic PET bottles are collected.
  2. Then you need to sort by class. Most often, it is produced for an unpainted group and a dyed one, within which an additional sorting by color is performed. Each subgroup will be processed separately. Also a separate category are PVC bottles, which must be recycled in a special way.
  3. After that, in each group there is a manual removal of rubber, paper, metal, etc.
  4. The next step is to squeeze the bottles. When they become compressed, they must be loaded onto a line dedicated to container recycling.
  5. The result is a flake-like flex. Flex is a raw material either for the manufacture of the same bottles, or for chemical fiber, from which many products are made, among which packing tape, paving slabs, films, etc. stand out.

It is important to understand that during the recycling process, labels and caps are automatically removed and bottles are crushed. Then the fragments are placed in a special boiler, where the remaining foreign elements are washed off with water. Finally, the cleaned plastic is further cleaned and dried. It should be stored in a bunker intended for this.

Necessary equipment

There are two options for organizing such a business:

  • First, it could be mobile plant processing unit that fits in a truck. This idea is most cost-effective if the entrepreneur plans to serve several small towns at once through his project.
  • The second case is rent of a building for a processing workshop. The cost of equipment for a fully equipped line can be 3-4 million rubles th. You will need:
    • Belt conveyors;
    • rotary machine;
    • The so-called "crusher" - an apparatus for crushing bottles;
    • screw conveyor;
    • Steam boiler;
    • polishing machine;
    • Dryer-water separator;
    • Air dryer;
    • Storage bins.

It is important to understand that the cost of a mobile plant will be higher and will be about 5-6 million rubles. As for the stationary option, it will be required big square– not less than 2000 sq.m. Accordingly, abandoned factories or warehouses closer to the outskirts of the city are best suited for these purposes - so that the price for the premises does not turn out to be fabulous. Alternatively, you can buy a large plot of land and build a hangar yourself (however, this will cost much more).

It is ideal to produce not only flex, but also fiber, since in this case profit and profitability will seriously increase. However, this will require an even higher level of investment, and a novice entrepreneur should do this only after the initial investment has paid off and begins to bring stable income.

Obtaining raw materials for bottle recycling

In order to successfully organize a business, it is more expedient to open a factory in major city so that transport costs are minimal, since bottles are a very light product, which at the same time takes quite a large number of places - accordingly, transportation over long distances will reduce profitability. Alternatively, the location may be equidistant from several major cities.

Raw materials are collected by hand at landfills in various parts of the country. In fact, at these landfills, the bottles are collected by hand into bags, then pressed and delivered directly to the factory.

In addition, you can search for raw materials via the Internet. There are many sites that post ads for the sale or purchase of plastic bottles. The main task in this case is to offer more favorable conditions than potential competitors: such services work on the principle of conventional auctions.

You can find a direct supplier of waste in the form of PET bottles. Often this method is the cheapest. It is necessary to find manufacturing or trading companies that produce large volumes of this kind of waste (in particular, these can be offices of beverage companies, since in most of them the consumption of all products is free for employees: accordingly, the level of consumption is very high).

General Costs of Setting Up a Business

First of all, you need to understand that organizing such a business will require a large number of workers, since so many operations will be performed using manual labor. The minimum number of workers will be 10 people. At the same time, their salary this moment averages about 20 thousand rubles. However, it is important not to forget about the motivation system: as a result, the cost of wages will be slightly higher.

When calculating, it is necessary to take into account the fact that the work schedule of employees should be in shifts.

The purchase of a ton of bottles, taking into account transport costs, will take about 10-15 thousand rubles(primarily, depending on the purchase price). Interestingly, the price depends not only on who the purchase is made from, but also on the type of raw material: for example, brown plastic is the cheapest (its scope is rather narrow), while transparent, on the contrary, is considered the most expensive.

The costs also need to take into account the cost of electricity and consumed water. The cost of one ton of finished products may vary from 40 to 90 thousand rubles. It depends on the size of the granules specifications, as well as colors.

Sales of products

In order to earn money on this kind of production, it is necessary to properly establish a marketing system. First, a company that does not produce fiber can sell to other similar processing companies with a more complete technological cycle. In this case, the price per ton will be somewhat lower than the market price, but at the same time, the enterprise will have constant demand.

In addition, some organizations are only engaged in the production of fiber from the finished flex. There are only a few such enterprises in Russia, but their volumes are very large, so this will guarantee a stable profit. You can use the platform to search for buyers of recycled plastic - place an ad and wait for responses.

Calculation of profitability and payback period

The payback period for such a project is about 1.5-2 years due to the need for a large amount of investment in initial stage. The advantage is the fact that the costs of an organized recycling process are quite low. Therefore, with a revenue of 800 thousand rubles per month, the profit will be about 200-300 thousand rubles, depending on the processed raw materials and other factors.

Thus, a business focused on improvement environmental situation, can be profitable and bring consistently high level income. Bottle recycling is a promising niche in which a small number of companies operate, so the market glut does not threaten the industry for many years to come.

Video about the organization of production

On the video you can see the production line and processing technology:

I'll tell you real story business formation. Looking ahead, I’ll say that you won’t become a millionaire collecting plastic bottles, but a fairly large and stable income is provided. And so the word to Igor. Every morning, when I leave my apartment, I see a myriad of tin and plastic bottles in the entrance, in the evening young people arrange gatherings, so they relax. In the courtyard, the picture is exactly the same.

As a rule, during the day, homeless people pick up glass containers, but plastic bottles lie and lie. I have long been tormented by doubts, is it possible to somehow profit from this mountain of plastic bottles?

I rummaged through the directory and found the Plastik enterprise in the region. I called and asked if they needed recycled plastic. "Necessary" - they answer. “Then why don’t you collect the plastic that lies under your feet?” “Here you collect, deliver - we will buy” - it seemed funny to me.

Well, I go to the housing office, I negotiate with the boss, he gives the master and the material. We cook a cage-frame. We paint this box and put it near the trash can in the “passing” place near the school. For seed, we throw a couple of plastic bottles there. I come in the evening ... In general, the effect exceeded all expectations. Not only is the cage-container 2 m high filled to the top, but there are also plenty of bottles around. Chief Zhek was in disarray.

The very next day, he reported about this "phenomenon" at the City Council, where on the same day they gave the "green light" to a new line of business. Now, plastic containers are placed near all the trash cans. They are filled on average in a week, and in crowded places - in 2-3 days. The city has become much cleaner. Now it's the neighborhood's turn.

The essence of the phenomenon, in my opinion, is this. Initially, the cells were "transparent". But when there were a lot of cells, the problem of loading the content appeared. So that this process does not take too much time, they began to insert synthetic bags into the cells. So. Cells with bags were filled very weakly, and the next standing "transparent" - very quickly.

When this pattern was noticed, the bags were removed. That is, people see an empty space and subconsciously try to fill it - apparently, this gives them some kind of inner satisfaction, such is human psychology.

Another problem - what is the "good" to take out? It is light, but oh-oh-very voluminous! The solution is simple - a container receiver with a thermal press is installed on an ordinary bead. Now one bead for the whole city is enough - a full container is recycled to a small cube in 5-6 minutes. just in time for the bus to reach the next trash can.
Such is the idea - purity and money at the same time.

First time on the internet complete guide creating a Sushi Bar.

I found here a fresh article about another super method of collecting raw materials around the city. Reading...

AT Penza region The first processing cooperative was opened household waste.
Two weeks ago, new garbage containers appeared in the courtyards of Kuznetsk - concreted, with turnkey lids, with the inscription: "OOO Clean City". Young people explained to the townspeople:
- Now, as in the West, plastic containers and household waste should be thrown into different boxes.

Someone nodded approvingly: "It's high time. At least clear the city of garbage a little." Some passed by. There were also those who demonstratively overturned the bucket into the usual container. After the sound of broken glass, the guys heard: "You won't succeed! These rules are not for Russians."

From employees to businessmen

Two years of work at "Avtoresurs" professionally "shod". Rinat (the owner of Clean City LLC) knew that he had no competitors, moreover, in other regions, the "garbage business" was only in its infancy. He retired from the company and began to look for partners. People gathered quickly school friends, familiar. Some lost their jobs earlier, some later lost their jobs, some lost their diplomas, TIN, work books. After the restoration of documents, in mid-November, 9 newly minted members of the "Clean City" registered their business.

Like "they"

AT developed countries around the world, the mechanism for collecting and sorting household waste has been debugged for decades. In Europe recycling PET bottles are even put on state basis. The result: 70 percent of PET bottles are recycled in England today, 80-85 percent in Germany, and 90-95 percent in Sweden.

Explanatory note:

Well, over the hill they know that littering will cost several times more. It will be even more expensive to dismantle the old garbage dump. They do not have such vast territories as in Russia.

In England, the most severe penalties for violators rage. Disposal and disposal of waste is one of the most expensive in the world. It is understandable, the landfills are concreted like a large pool with waterproofing so that not a single drop seeps into the soil. It will be cheaper to bury English garbage in China, including freight and other related costs.

Those 30 percent of PET that the British did not collect apparently leaves with tourists or is thrown into the sea with a fair wind. Or, under the cover of fog, they float down the river until no one sees, again into the sea. I think it's not so fashionable to throw a bag of garbage under the neighbors' doors, as it is customary to do here. Hope it doesn't take too long...

In Germany, cleanliness and order in the blood since childhood. Young German women do not disdain to wash Tetrapak packages like household dishes. At the same time, a little later, all household garbage will be neatly laid out in their containers, and not all in a bunch ..
The same glass containers are rented directly in supermarkets. A German burgher drags a box of empty beer bottles to the store ... No, he is not a poor German, it's just that they have a custom in society - to hand over reusable containers. Try not to hand over, then the neighbors will hand over you with giblets. It is generally the sacred duty of every German to observe law and order.
In Germany, throwing an apple core or cigarette butt out of the car window on the way, be sure that at the next post they will completely sand it. Because the German, who was driving behind, will have time to capture your falling stub in flight and provide a photo to the police with the car number and the exact time of outrage on German soil.

Try to do the same in Rush. Make your beloved wash the package after sour cream ... At best, you will hear a specific "NAKH", at worst you will get a rolling pin on the brain center. Well, throwing garbage out of the car window is like washing your hands (for most Russians). Well, if the mind is enough to throw out through the right door. It happens that through the left is not weak.

In Finland the situation is almost the same as in Germany. With the help of a state program, which cost a lot of money for a small state, they instilled a civilized approach to waste. Starting from the school bench, the young growth was laid in the brains, everything that a mature German knows - garbage is thrown out strictly segregated.. Waste paper, plastic, glass, etc. Spent a lot, but the result is on the face.

That's who will really delight you now and make the whole world go nuts in this area, and this is China.
Quiet eastern brothers really buy garbage in England and take it to China, but not in order to dump the trash into a ravine or dig it up at the nearest hill, in no case. All garbage is sorted exclusively by handles and recycled.
This has really succeeded...
No wonder if the Chinese are pulling some greenery from the British ... for recycling, of course ...

I must say, they earn very curly ...
First, they cut the British, and then, having sorted everything in their homeland and stuck on a new bunch of goods, they sell it to us - the Russians ... Oh, how ....
We are proud people ... We don’t recycle our own shit, we save up for a happy future, and even buy someone else’s like candy. A good transit in China was invented ...

In Russia, however (due to the lack of waste processing plants in sufficient quantities), landfills are covered with dozens of tons of plastic bottles. When burned, they release a large amount of carcinogens. And if secondary production is not developed today, the country will face an ecological catastrophe.

Explanatory note:

No Renat, not because of the lack of MSZ the whole thing is wrong. The population could manually sort out all this junk, according to the principle of the Chinese ... Yes, and the incinerator can be poked at each landfill ..
Here the matter is deeper.
Who actually receives money from the population for the disposal of solid waste is in no way interested in sharing his "loaf" with someone else. The appearance of an incinerator at the test site may slightly push or completely deprive such earnings ... Accordingly, no one intends to figure out what is better for the environment and for people.
This is not a royal business - poking around in the garbage.

Meanwhile, big money can be made from this big problem. Waste from plastic bottles today is the most valuable and highly demanded recyclable material.

From plastic bottles, raw materials are obtained for the textile industry, the manufacture of tiles, euro pallets, wadding, panels and bumpers for cars ... But not yet in our country.

Explanatory note:

You are mistaken, a lot has already been done with us for a long time. We have a lot of raw materials, but few processing plants ...
That's why!-
Before the crisis, a used PET bottle cost 12 rubles per kg. And today (13.12.09) a kilogram of collected PET costs 5 rubles. One PET bottle costs about 20 kopecks.
And they will also drop the cost of PET easily, because processors are now dying from the crisis.

We change consciousness

Now 21 containers of the "Clean City" have been installed in Kuznetsk. More, according to young businessmen, is not necessary yet. They covered the most densely populated areas of the city, where the boxes are filled in a few days. They can, of course, faster, but so far everything depends on psychology.

“It takes at least a year to teach people to throw out garbage “selectively,” says Rinat. - Everyone should understand: it is beneficial for him personally and this is a contribution to the cleanliness of the city.

While public consciousness has not changed, Bareev and his companions agree with the janitors so that they, if possible, sort out waste from conventional containers and folded "where necessary."

Today, the cooperative sends bales of 60-70 kilograms to Chaadaevka, in which plastic container"crushed" into shavings. The price of this product is twice as high as the unprocessed one.

In the future, the volume of containers will increase several times. For what? First, the guys will open in different parts The city has five collection points for PET and glass containers. Secondly, they will install paper containers. And closer to the summer they will "get" to the track, where there are many eateries and cafes. And in a couple of years, perhaps they will become manufacturers.

– Plaids and blankets are made from PET containers in the West, – says Bareev. We also have such ideas. But what is more likely is the production of corrugated board for furniture factories. For example, in Kuznetsk there is a great demand for them, but there is almost no supply.

Although this is all a matter of the distant future, when the cooperative will pay off. According to plans - in three years. In the meantime, young businessmen drive around the city from morning to evening, from point to point, and repeat the memorized phrase:
– Now there is a separate container for plastic bottles. articles Penza truth.

A specific final explanation, for those who are in the tank:

Guys, why did you decide that the whole city is about to mature psychologically and will live by your rules? Yes, if the governor of the city barks out of the mouthpiece into the ear of each resident separately that tomorrow we put all the solid waste separately, then you just get 100 percent garbage removal at night .... the whole bunch, and not separately ... And it will not be hesitate...

I put a homemade bag of garbage in the car in the park and forgot to throw it into the container. I decided to throw the garbage into a container near another house. Out of nowhere, one smart pensioner, seeing me near THEIR container, flies with the words:
“Are you doing business? Do you throw your garbage into OUR container? We pay money for it!!!

Grandfather, I say, but it will become easier for you if I now scatter this garbage along the sidewalk and the janitor (who cleaned up so close in time) will put it all in your container ??? What is the meaning of your and my container? Will they charge you for my trash?

Here is such a mentality ... Scatter garbage along the street, no one will say a word to you .. Put it in the nearest container, ready to dry the whole brain. Grandfather cooled down after my proposal, but in my opinion he didn’t understand that the overload of his container does not happen because I dump bags of garbage there every single day, but because the service, designed to regularly take out the garbage, saves on an extra club .. Or maybe even simpler, the garbage truck driver himself regularly saves free fuel.

And what is the benefit of separate collection for the population, I still don’t understand? In the case of the person who dumped the garbage in a heap, I would do the same ... For I pay money for recycling and do not intend to sort trash at home ...

To change consciousness and teach people to throw out garbage "selectively", in Rush it will take time and effort of several generations. And not the fact that it will work everywhere ...

The first thing the local population will do is they will try to pull your dishes out of the container and hand them over to the nearest receiver for money .. But since you seem to be a monopoly in the city in the field of glass containers and PET, they will simply fill up your containers with ordinary mixed solid waste.

But to agree with the wipers on a bubble basis on selective (separate) garbage collection, this is healthy. If again they agreed for free, then the result of the fees will be appropriate ...

And now about the main thing...
The only thing you have succeeded in is saving on renting premises for receivers and on the receptionist .... But the sword is double-edged ... Every time you drive a car for half a hundred PET bottles, you know, you roll more gasoline than you earn. Well, since there is no receptionist, then the driver will apparently be engaged in sorting ...

Reception points become unprofitable for many reasons... The crisis is the number one reason. The second reason is the meager cost of recyclables. Increasing rent and energy carriers - reason number 3. To the heap, collections of glass containers and PET in the city fell dozens of times. If a couple of years ago, 100 boxes of glass containers were accepted, now 7 boxes at most per day. The same thing is happening with PET ... At this point, the homeless simply went on the principle, for 5-10 kopecks they refuse to wear it. It is understandable, just recently PET was taken for 20-25 kopecks. This is a long song, let's move on ...

In order not to devote your whole life to traveling to receivers from morning to night, you need to get into production today, which will be provided with raw materials from the receiving point. Thus, you will kill several birds with one stone:

1. The price of PET will no longer depend on the buyers of raw materials. You can assign a cost for the acceptance of recyclables depending on your needs.
2. At a minimum, save on travel expenses ... For any reason, take it somewhere and hand over the collected raw materials .. Perhaps you are going to another city ...
3. Own production NATURALLY! in terms of profitability, it is an order of magnitude higher than fees. Without your own production, even if there is a monopolist in the city for the collection of raw materials, you still cannot survive ...
4. There will be even more income if the production is capable of producing the final product, and not a semi-finished product in the form of a flex .. For selling flex (crushed washed PET) is almost equivalent in terms of profitability to selling simply collected dirty PET.

These are PET pies with kittens.

Note address:

interesting this topic, so the following questions arose:
1. How do you evaluate the prospect of sorting pet bottles right at the landfill?
2. if you place not 21 containers, but 150 containers around the city and check not every day, but once every ... 2 weeks, will it be more economically feasible?
3. the price is 5 rubles per kg, for which bottle? transparent, with a label, without it?

1. PET has been collected in landfills for a long time ...
Landfillers should be happy with volumes...
The main thing is to recruit workers for PET collections, the raw materials are cheap, and the work is still so ...

2. If one and a half old women and two janitors collect PET around the city, then the number of containers will not play a big role ... An increase in containers or their number will be advisable if the already installed ones cannot cope with the collection, and this is a very distant prospect ... Very I doubt that the population for a great life will begin to stack PET separately from garbage ...

3. At the moment, the price of transparent PET with a label is 10 rubles per kg ... Brown and blue, 8 rubles per 1 kg. They will buy it from me with my delivery ... How do you agree with your customers on what conditions, such a price will be ...

P.S: In general, the picture with PET is as follows-
The landfillers collect PET to the fullest, but I don't think they are very satisfied with the profit ... They collect it cleanly to the heap mostly.
Wholesalers in the city are sitting on industrial waste - pure PET (offcuts, production defects) - the volumes are good and the cost is correspondingly higher than the landfill ...
Perhaps wholesalers separately accept dirty ones too ... I know two people who refused to accept dirty ones at all, because the profit is not encouraging ...

The receivers hand over PET that is not as dirty as at the landfill, but its price is still very dirty, so in the end you get the same pennies ... And if the wholesaler and the landfiller can still somehow cash in on large volumes, then the receivers dry the oars in this place ... They didn’t build any checkered monkeys, they didn’t spend money on anything, but they simply remove this crap from acceptance ...

Earnings on PET start with wagon deliveries, but not with Gazelkas with Gaziks ... Here is such a picture.

The understanding of plastic as a valuable resource exists all over the world. Reuse polymer materials are not uncommon among Russian processors. However, they all complain about the shortage of "secondary", which is largely due to the lack centralized system separate collection household waste. Entrepreneurs from Ufa decided to rectify the situation and help their native city in terms of ecology by independently organizing the collection and export of PET bottles for further processing. What are the nuances of such an activity and can it become profitable business, Ruslan Fazullin, managing partner of VtorPlastEkologiya LLC, shared his experience and opinion with the site.

Ruslan, how did you get the idea to collect a recycled plastic bottle?

In fact, this idea came unexpectedly, we just wanted to do something useful for our hometown. Three years ago we decided to deliver the first ten containers - nets for collecting bottles in one of the districts of Ufa. At first, our initiative went unnoticed, but we did not stop, we made ten more grids, and after some time we began to receive applications from the city administration to place such containers. Today, there are already 500 of them in the city. And there are still applications for 1000 units.

Is it difficult to ensure the filling of containers?

We are interested in utilities, or, more simply, the janitors themselves. For 1 kg of bottles we pay them 6 rubles. One grid holds 50 kg of containers, in total it turns out 300 rubles. The grid should be replenished at least once a week, otherwise there is no point in installing it. As a result, the janitor receives 1,200 rubles a month for raw materials from one grid. With this approach, the system works clearly.

Is it profitable to collect "secondary" and can it become a profitable business?

In addition to the fact that we pay 1200 rubles for the mesh per month, we also have costs for transporting bottles (driver's wages, gasoline), installation and maintenance of the mesh itself. The production of one container costs 5000 rubles. We can say that it is unprofitable to engage in selective collection. At the initial stage, it was still more environmental project than commercial. For two years we collected a PET bottle practically at our own expense and decided that it would be more profitable to recycle it as well. We bought a production line, we have been processing it for a year now and we understand that this is again unprofitable, since large funds are spent on renting production facilities.

Are you still continuing what you started?

Yes, we are counting on an increase in the collection of bottles, we have applications for another 1000 containers, so we will look for finances and continue. In principle, if it were not for the cost of rent, we would have already made a profit. There are many nuances in this business. Own raw materials are not enough to load the line with a capacity of 100 tons per month. We are forced to buy 60% of raw materials from other regions at a higher price. In addition, there is the problem of the purity of recyclables - as you know, here the waste reaches 40% of the total mass. And in order for the business to be profitable, the support of the authorities, including financial support, is needed.

How could this help be expressed?

In theory, the city should have compensated us for the selective collection of waste, since we actually take out the same garbage as the utilities that receive funding from the city. But for some reason everyone thinks that we already live well, earning money on the bottle itself. And these payments just could cover the cost of rent, cutting our costs in half.

Are there any prospects for such support?

In Ufa, we are considered as the main participant in the public-private partnership for selective waste collection, since VtorPlastEcology is the only company in the city that does this on such a scale. It is possible that there will be financial support from the authorities, since we have extensive experience, and the administration plans to launch a collection of mercury lamps, glass, as well as a project for separate collection food and non-food waste. I must say that the mayor of Ufa Yalalov Irek Ishmukhametovich supports us ideologically, for which we are especially grateful to him. We received great methodological support from the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Republic of Bashkortostan, which helped us conduct laboratory studies of waste and select the right equipment. So we will continue to work. We hope that during the year there will be serious progress.
