The method of systemic family constellations is treated differently, most often either very well or very badly. To fully understand what this method is, you can only take part in the constellations according to B. Hellinger.

A person who has been a participant in system-family constellations is convinced that this is not just a method of group psychotherapy. There is a lot of mysticism in the constellations, things that cannot be rationally explained. They delight, surprise and frighten.

Not all communities of psychologists recognize systemic family constellations as a scientific method of psychotherapy. Representatives of the Orthodox Church, as well as believing psychologists, consider it occultism and obscurantism. The author of the method himself, the German psychotherapist Bert Hellinger (born December 16, 1925), refers it to the class of spiritual practices. The author has developed not only a practical method, but also a whole theory explaining why and how system-family constellations work.

B. Hellinger integrated several progressive psychological theories and derived new knowledge on this basis. In particular, the transactional analysis of E. Berne, that is, the analysis of interactions, states, games played by people and their life scenarios, had an influence on the formation of the theory of family constellations. In addition, by the beginning of the nineties of the twentieth century, when B. Hellinger began to apply his method, family psychotherapy was already being used and was popular. The psychodrama of J. Moreno and the "Family Structure" method of V. Satir also formed the basis of the teachings of B. Hellinger and are in many ways similar to him.

In 2007, B. Hellinger created his own school, where even today he introduces and teaches those who wish to use the method of family constellations.

There can be no doubt that the family is extremely important in a person's life.. In a family, an individual appears, grows, develops, is educated, learns, becomes a person. The individual survives thanks to the family. But few people look at the family as a kind of system that stores not only knowledge and relationships of the present time, but also ancestral memory, a kind of family field.

The author of the theory and his followers discovered that problems in a person's life, regardless of the area in which they arise, are the result of family traumas. Injuries are troubles that happened to a person’s family, not only after, but also before his birth.

Most often negative events in the life of the family are trying to be hushed up or completely hidden. I don’t want to remember and talk about a difficult death (murder, suicide, early death, abortion), forced immigration, divorce, unfortunate relative (an alcoholic, a father who abandoned a child, etc.), a period when the family was poor and starving, about that children do not respect their parents and so on. However, all these events remain and are preserved in the family ancestral field.

According to B. Hellinger, the source of life's troubles is the concealment of a family trauma and/or the exclusion of one of the participants in a significant traumatic event from the family system. The imbalance of the family system leads to the fact that the current and subsequent generations suffer, not being able to realize the cause of their troubles.

Working on personal problem in a psychotherapeutic group, a person can discover the hidden cause, find out what in the distant past became the source of his current misfortunes and find a way out of the current circumstances. After constellations, life changes dramatically within a few months, and unlike other methods of psychotherapy, it is enough to visit a group of family constellations only once.

How are Hellinger constellations performed?

Constellations according to B. Hellinger is a method of systemic family therapy aimed at correcting the negative consequences of dynamic family traumas.

Constellations are carried out not only in psychotherapeutic groups, but also in the form of individual psychotherapy at the request of the client. In the second case, the group members are replaced by items.

The client reports his problem to the psychotherapist while in the group, after which participants are selected who will “play the role” of family members in the constellations, that is, they will be their “deputies”. Next begins direct psychotherapy session. The psychotherapist regulates the process, controls the actions of the group, directs the course of therapy, changes the number of substitutes, and so on.

The participants of the family system are not only blood relatives, but also people connected with the family by significant relationships. In addition, the family is both living, unborn, and deceased people, regardless of whether a person knows anything about their existence or not.

The human family system includes:

parents,
children,
brothers, sisters,
spouses, lovers, sexual partners,
other blood relatives
people who influenced the family, who were with one of its members in a "life and death relationship", this can be either a person who saved or significantly improved someone's life, or someone who made it unbearable or took it away.

It turns out that the members of the psychotherapeutic group take on the role of not only the living, but also the dead, as well as bad people (scoundrels, rapists, murderers, and so on), participating in the constellation. This explains a lot negative attitude towards the method of constellations as to the occult and the negative personal experience, because somehow the feelings and emotions of strangers appear in the deputy. For example, it is not easy to be a substitute for an aborted child or a person who died of starvation.

Orders of love

Problems arise if one of the members of the tribal system violates the laws of the family, the order necessary for its normal functioning and the well-being of each of its members. B. Hellinger called the laws that regulate the life of the family "orders of love."

Three orders or laws of love that must not be violated:

Affiliation. It is impossible to "force" someone out of the family. Each member of the system has the right to belong. If one family member is rejected by her, the other will “replace” him, will behave the same way as he or can repeat his fate, or problems will begin in the family that contribute to its destruction. When someone from the family feels "like a step-in", this may be a signal that the law of belonging has been violated.
Hierarchy. The new family is more important than the old one. When a person has his own family, parents are left "behind". This does not mean at all that the child should forget about his parents, but new family should be a priority.

This law also warns against transferring the problems of past relationships to new ones. Even if a man and a woman were not officially married, but loved each other, they were a family, after parting, each of them must leave problems in the past if they want to be happy.

Nowadays, it is not uncommon for women and men to have several relationships before they find a person with whom they go to the registry office, people get married and remarry, have children from former lovers, and so on. Whatever happened in the past, it must be accepted as part of life, not ashamed and not hidden.

Balance between taking and giving. This is the law of balance and mutual assistance. There will be no harmony in a family where one person all the time gives his love, strength, tries, makes concessions, and the second only accepts the benefits given to him, giving nothing in return. In order for relationships to develop, kindness must be repaid with even more kindness, the mutual desire of family members to make each other happy strengthens the system.

Systemic family constellations are unique in their kind. Despite criticism, psychotherapists working according to the B. Hellinger method help many people to understand themselves and solve problems, not only purely psychological, but also related to health, well-being, personal life and work.

System placement. Such a concept appeared in our lexicon recently. In this article, I will try to give a general idea of the methodology that many psychologists are already working with. It's called Systemic and Family Constellations.

This is a very strong and very effective help, working with individual problems of a person.

What is it and how does it work?

There is a so-called information generic system field, which has its own structure and three basic laws:

Accessories;

Hierarchies (seniority);

Balance: take - give.

When one or more laws are violated, system dynamics are created that are passed down from generation to generation. The phenomenological effect of the violation, even if it happened far, deep in the past, affects us or our children. The system itself, the information field, is outside of time and space. Any person, being a member of a kind and this system, carries these dynamics in himself and may not fully live his life, transferring fragments of these systemic disorders at the present moment, which is reflected in behavior, character, illnesses, feelings.

The constellation technique allows you to change what interferes with a full life, what could not be corrected in other ways, did not work out.

What happens during the deployment process?

The mediator or leader has the opportunity to enter the generic field, system, find the cause and balance the balance with the help of knowledge known to him. The system comes into balance and the dynamics disappears, which means that the very problem with which the person came to the constellation disappears. Do not forget that the request for solving the problem must be very specific and the customer says what he wants to get in the end. If there are several problems, each of them needs a separate arrangement.

Sometimes it happens that, playing the role of a substitute in the process of constellation, a person replacing someone can discover and work out his problem, which he had not even guessed about before or was looking for other solutions. Miracles don't happen. Therefore, you need to understand that changes can take time, sometimes an hour, sometimes a day, sometimes a year. But the process is still running. A properly trained mediator has the opportunity to enter the generic system, find the cause and, using knowledge, even out the balance. As soon as the system comes into equilibrium, the dynamics disappears. And this means that the problem with which the person came to the constellation also disappears. It just ceases to exist. A person's life is changing. He becomes himself.

It is very difficult to describe in a small article what is really happening.

About constellations, today a lot of articles have already been written. Professional constellators, leaders or mediators are people who have been trained in this method for two years, and mostly already have a psychological education. Although the absence of such is not a refusal to study. Those people with whom I intersect quite often on the topic of constellations study at the French Institute of Family and Systemic Constellations, directly from the Master - Idris Laor.

In order not to retell the methodology and not to quote the articles of masters and teachers, I will give one abstract and one specific example to understand how the spreads work.

So, an example of what can happen if one of the family members in the family is undeservedly forgotten, deleted from memory, for various reasons.

Many people know such examples when a tragedy occurs in a completely prosperous family, and a child who grew up ordinary and calm suddenly finds himself either in a bad company or commits a crime, and eventually ends his life in a prison cell.

What can happen in terms of arrangements?

Sometimes a person's actions are not his personal actions. He begins to live the life of an ancestor, with whom his fate is intertwined, and who, perhaps, went just such a path, and was erased from memory. That is, it is an excluded member of the system. The ancestor was engaged in robbery, committed crimes and ended up in prison. All relatives turned away from him, considering him bad, and the mother, in order to protect the child from bad influence, said that the father had died or disappeared in an unknown direction. The child was given to understand that he did not have a father. In ordinary life, this happens quite often. Nobody wants to deal with bad people especially with criminals. But at the level of the system, kind, this is a violation of one of the basic laws. In fact, this is a wound for the system and it begins to heal it, usually choosing the youngest member of the family, and through him corrects the violation.

What's happening?

A person begins to repeat the actions and behavior of his expelled ancestor, commit robbery, hooliganism or something similar, and eventually ends up in prison.

This is an example that calls into question the topic of self-installation. The feeling that was adopted from the ancestor will also affect self-setting. By the way, if we talk about self-installations in general, then we can say that they simply do not exist. These are someone's examples and someone's attitudes that a person adopts in the process of life. But this is about something else.

Returning to systemic violations, one can see that the person is not to blame. He is responsible for the actions of others. He took on this responsibility without even knowing it.

Using the constellation method, you can go deeper into the problem, to its roots, which sometimes turn out to be at the level of the ninth generation and even deeper. Those violations that have arisen once do not belong to us, and we cannot realize them. But, being representatives of the genus, these problems are passed on to us as living people, and from us they can pass to the next generations.

Second example. Real.

The woman came with a problem. Her younger son, who is 18 years old, has lost interest in life. He is afraid to go out, he has no desires and goals. A prosperous family, however, not so long ago, moved to live in St. Petersburg from another country.

At first, the parents associated the depressive state of their son with the move. But time passed and nothing changed. And then the mother turned to the constellators for help. In the process of arrangement, it turned out that the woman had two abortions before the birth of her second son. Forgotten children, erased from life as unborn, began to influence the life of the youngest member of the family. Such situations are also quite common, when the cause of depression and loss of interest in life cannot be explained. Unborn or aborted children can "force" a person to commit suicide, they show a desire to take their place and receive the love of their parents, which they were deprived of.

What is done in this case?

It is necessary to recognize the fact that these children are also members of the clan and the system and accept them in your heart as full-fledged members of the family, give them a place, agreeing with their existence. How acceptance occurs, I will not describe. This is a kind of ritual that you can see when you come to the constellation. Feelings and states cannot be described in words.

Once upon a time, after reading and watching a video about Bert Hellinger's constellations for the first time, I tried to understand how this could even be, why and what was happening. Outwardly, it looks like a performance, and it is rather difficult to believe that this is a reality until you yourself take part in this action. The presence of the field is felt so strongly that, being a substitute, a person really becomes for some time the one he replaces. He experiences exactly those feelings that were experienced by the one whose role he plays in the constellation.

In the end, I still want to say one thing. "Better to see once than hear a hundred times".

Often in constellations, amazing life parallels appear.

The client does not want to work, "is looking for herself" in the esoteric, categorically denies the church and Christianity.

Bad relationship with mom.

The client has a bad relationship with her mother. Mom constantly reproaches her: “You took everything from me!”

The root cause of these relationships is revealed in the constellation - a woman who died in childbirth.

The client's mother carries the feelings of this woman who died in childbirth, for whom her daughter is her death, which took everything from her, took her Life.

We remove the identification and for the first time the client can approach her mother and hug her gratefully.

Money or vocation.

The client has a very prestigious specialty, a chic education.

But all her life she is faced with the choice of either money and exhausting boring work, or penniless work by vocation, which warms the soul. It is impossible to combine money and vocation.

We put the deputy client and two figures - Money and Vocation.

The deputy broadcasts the feelings of the client: “These two figures seem to tear me into two parts and I don’t know what to do.”

The figures of Money and Vocation turn into the client's parents, who divorced when the client was very young. The client practically did not communicate with her father, who drank heavily. Mom did not approve of the daughter's communication with her father.

Usually, with a divorce and such ambiguous messages - mom wants one thing, dad wants something completely different - it is very difficult for a child. In life, he can obey one of the parents, but in his soul he will be loyal to the other parent, for example, repeating his fate.

And then in life this child, already being an adult, will constantly face the problem of a hard choice "Either this or that." Confrontation will be seen in all spheres of life.

And he will not be able to connect in life "Both this and that."

Life will constantly put before the problem of choice.

BUT key moment here in the choice "between mom and dad" and when the long-awaited union of parents in the heart occurs - the problem of choice disappears.

It becomes possible to accept both at the same time, and the vocation begins to bring great joy and big money.

Enuresis in a child.

Girl, 11 years old. Mom died, dad is in prison, the girl is being raised by her grandparents.

The child has psoriasis and enuresis.

Enuresis is the unshed tears of a child.

They worked individually with the help of arrangement pictures and metaphorical cards with a symptom of psoriasis.

We start with a drawing. I ask her to draw psoriasis and the one who is hiding behind this symptom, then the one who was hiding behind the symptom - in the second picture, already without the image of psoriasis.

The girl drew a man and was frightened of him herself, began to whine and asked to throw the picture away.

We continued to work with the help of figurines and metaphorical cards.

It is interesting that the girl's enuresis stopped immediately after the placement, although we were working on another symptom.

P.S. The psoriasis went away after a few months.

Bert Hellinger suggests the following for stopping enuresis in a child:

…“Some parents face a problem when they are already relatively big child urinates in a dream. These children can be told a story by including small scenes, such as turning off a faucet or fixing a gutter.

For example. Little Red Riding Hood came to visit her grandmother. She was about to enter the house when she noticed that the gutter was broken and water was dripping onto the porch of the house. One father whose daughter had this problem told her these stories, and they immediately worked. The next morning the bed was dry. But in doing so, he learned something else.

Previously, when he told his daughter bedtime stories, she listened very carefully and made sure that he did not miss anything or add anything of his own. But the tale of Little Red Riding Hood, told with changes, did not cause the slightest protest in her, she took these changes for granted. This suggests that the knowing soul of the child unites with the narrator. The soul wants to find a solution, but it should not be verbatim, then the child, with the help of understanding and courage, will be able to do something new.

Of course, the child understood what the father wanted to say, otherwise nothing would have changed. But by not naming the problem itself, the father showed respect for the shame of the child. The child felt a deep respect for himself, felt how carefully his father treats him, and was able to react accordingly.

The child himself knows that he wets the bed, he does not need to be told about it. He also knows not to do it. He doesn't need to talk about it. When he is given advice or reminded of his problem, he feels humiliated. If such a child follows the advice, he loses some of his own dignity, while the dignity of the parents is “added”. The child defends himself without taking advice. Precisely because I am giving him advice, he must act differently in order to maintain his self-respect. Dignity is the main thing for any person, it is also important for a child. Only if the child feels that the advice is given to him with love, he will follow the advice.

Life success.

The client is a teenager, 16 years old. Considers himself a failure. The parents divorced a few years ago.

In the near future, the client will have to enter a very prestigious military school, with a huge competition and difficult exams.

We put the client's deputy, his mother, his father and the figures "Life Success" and "Military School".

The figure "Life success" is standing, turning away from the client.

We work with the acceptance of both parents, the acceptance of masculine power through the father, with the acceptance of Success.

And although Hellinger says that our success has the face of our mother, this arrangement shows the following - the success of the client has the face of his father. His success comes to him through his father, through his male gender.

After the arrangement, the boy enters the coveted military school the first time and successfully continues his studies there.

Infertility.

The client came before the wedding - enters into a second marriage. Request - sterility.

She is divorced from her first husband, the relationship is still incomplete.

She left her husband, although she loved him very much. He explains his departure by the fact that it will be better for him.

The first marriage had an unborn child (abortion).

In the constellation, it turns out that the client cannot look at her unborn child, and the child's substitute broadcasts a lot of aggression on the client.

Property.

The client divorces her husband, and somehow it turns out that her property (2 apartments) remains with him. We put her, her husband and property. The figure of property immediately sits at the feet of her husband's deputy like a child, and the husband supports him. The deputy client is unable to look at the child. It turns out that the client and her husband had an unborn child (miscarriage).

We work with the situation and the client, despite the severe pain, accepts her child into her heart and stands next to her husband, supporting the child.

The property in this case only indicated the situation with their child, called to look at him.

The aimlessness of existence and the decline of strength.

The client does not have any goals in her life, does not know what she wants in her life, constantly feels a breakdown, does not live - but exists.

The constellation shows her identification (the strongest connection of her Soul) with her unborn sister - her mother had an abortion.

And the client carries all the feelings and emotions of this unborn child.

After the arrangement, the client felt the Taste of Life for the first time.

I look for you in all men.

The client has a recurring love scenario. All her men begin to perceive her as a sister. And she forgives too much to her men. She had many men, but the relationship with them does not suit the client. She is looking for her one and only.

The arrangement shows that in all her men she is looking for her unborn older brother. Her dad had a first love - and in that relationship there was an unborn child (abortion).

The client confirms that since childhood she dreamed of an older brother. And in her relationships with men, she projected onto them the role of her older brother. Therefore, she forgave them a lot - after all, a brother is forever ... And she was disappointed in them - not finding the one she was looking for in them ...

The same thing happens with men who have an unborn sister. They begin to look for her in all women - and do not find ...

Sometimes there are situations when a man begins to look for his unborn brother in other men. He becomes a homosexual great love to his unborn brother - he needs to feel him next to him - in another man ...

Another variant of homosexuality is when a person has a strong identification with a person of the opposite sex from his kind. The same can be said about lesbian love.

Love triangle.

The client has a difficult relationship with two men at the same time. One is much older than her, the other is her age. Her father and brother died in the accident.

The arrangement shows that the two men next to her replace her dad and brother.

Her soul thus tries to revive the people dear to her.

Asthma.

The client has a young daughter with asthma.

The constellation shows the daughter's deep connection with her great-grandfather, who died of pneumonia during the war.

After the arrangement, a significant improvement in the girl's health condition occurs.

Panic fear.

The client has a panic fear that he will be killed.

We start individual work on figurines and it turns out that in the client's family there is a Don Cossack who killed a man.

And the client wants to pay with his life for that sin...

The interweaving of destinies comes to the surface, the source of this fear becomes clear. And the fear goes away.

Money.

Client request - money. He wants to make good money - it doesn’t work, and when he manages to earn money, money flows through his fingers.

The arrangement shows the main reasons:

It is dangerous to earn a lot - they can be dispossessed and exiled. This is the dispossessed family of her great-grandfather.

And the money is slipping through your fingers - they take her mother out for abortions.

After the arrangement - six months later - the situation with money changes dramatically for the better.

I am also in the war, like my grandfather.

The client has tense relations with people, many conflicts "Not for life, but for death" ... He fights with everyone with or without a reason. He needs enemies to fight with someone and hate someone. He needs opposition.

"The man who wants to go to war doesn't think about whether his opponent wants to fight. The man who wants to go to war is blind. He never looks at the enemy, he just rushes at him. He doesn't want to look at the enemy. Essentially, any enemy he meets. He does not need to see the enemy, he himself creates the enemy and rushes at him. When a battle rages inside a person, enemies appear from the outside. " Osho.

The client's grandfather died in the war. And the grandson has a strong identification with his grandfather.

He, like his grandfather, remained in the War ...

A part of the soul of a person who has been in a war remains on the battlefield.

Understanding comes and the situation changes - the client understands that he is the grandson of the Warrior, but he does not need to fight in order to prove his love and belonging to his grandfather in this way.

He may remember his grandfather differently.

Be a winner in life.

I have had great lives. Past life experience.

Sometimes in the constellation, karmic experience from the client’s past lives is revealed.

In the life of a client strip natural Disasters: all the appliances in the house broke down, a brick almost fell on his head, a wheel fell off the car, and a few days later the car was stolen ... A state of frozen emotions and body. The Snow Queen. And absolutely no desire.

The constellation reveals an old hermit saint who has achieved samadhi in an abandoned cave. The desires of the client stood near this cave - they aspired to the spiritual world, and in material world there were no clues.

We put the figure of the Client's Life - it seems to her unsightly and small compared to those Great Lives. The client says the phrase: "I had great destinies in my Family."

And the understanding comes to all participants in the constellation that the phrase should be different: "I had Great Lives."

At the same time, the family-clan layer opens and the unborn elder sister clients.

At the end of the constellation, the client, standing in the flow of energy, embraces her Life and Purpose.

Another client in the process of arrangement showed a kindred Soul in the form of a beloved man and the mutual desire of these souls for each other through many lives. And there was such a message: "We were lucky to meet in this life, we do not meet every life, so appreciate me in this life ..."

Motherhood and Demeter.

A pregnant client (3 months pregnant) has a threat of miscarriage - bleeding.

Let's start at the archetypal level. Out of 70 cards, the client randomly takes out one card - and on it is the Greek Goddess Demeter - the Goddess of Motherhood.

The message of the Goddess is - "There is blood on you - look there" ...

There is indeed a small drop of blood on the client's white blouse.

The client had an abortion.

We work with the situation. The next day, the client felt a strong connection with the child, calmness and discharge completely stopped.

Envy and pride.

The client often encounters someone else's envy directed at her.

We put it and the figure of envy. There are two murders in the family.

In the family of the client there were wealthy industrialists patrons, whose life motto was: 80% of the profits to give to charity.

Instead of spiritual tithe (10%) - give 80% of the profit.

Out of the best of intentions, her ancestor, a philanthropist, wanted to do good, so that everyone around him would be rich and happy. Let not the hand of the giver fail...

The figure of envy turned into the figure of a killer and spoke of justice... The Ancestor placed himself above other people. He was extraordinarily generous. He considered himself extraordinary, exceptional, generous... Spiritual pride led to envy.

And envy led to murder.

Client request - relationships with men, hidden hatred of men.

She has been married three times and is now divorced. From the first husband there is a child, in subsequent marriages she could not get pregnant, although everything was fine with her health.

We worked individually.

Also, in the course of the arrangement, the client recalls two murders in Rod - her uncle killed his mother, and her aunt killed her husband.

We put the root / original cause, which led to such consequences.

This is a woman who killed her newborn children.

She gave birth and killed. A lot of dead babies ...

We bow before the fate of the killed babies, not understanding how she could do this, because she is their mother!

We look again at the situation - we stand in her role - and the understanding comes that she could not do otherwise.

In this case, it does not matter whether this person, whom the substitute represents, is alive or dead, since the field manifests in the person of the substitute the qualities of this person, his needs and desires, etc.
