When is Nha Trang better? When is the best time to visit Nha Trang? Weather in the southern part of Vietnam

Vietnam is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Southeast Asia. Tourists are attracted to this country by beautiful tropical beaches, clear sea, small and very cozy resort towns. When planning your trip to Vietnam, keep in mind that there is a rainy season here, which may not be very pleasant for a holiday.

Rain season

In order to choose the right time to visit Vietnam, you must be aware that the weather in different parts of this country can vary greatly. Despite the fact that on the map Vietnam looks like a small piece of land, there are three climatic zones:

  1. South Vietnam - popular tourist resorts Ho Chi Minh City, Con Dao, Phu Quoc Island
  2. Central Vietnam - famous beaches near Nha Trang, Phan Thiet, Phan Rang
  3. Northern Vietnam - beach holidays in Hai Phong, Thai Binh, Nam Dinh

In the southern cities of Vietnam, tropical showers begin in May and continue until the last weeks of November. In December, tourists from different countries, because the sunny clear weather is finally set. For five months, until the first days of May, there is never any precipitation here.

Central Vietnam will be attractive to tourists whose vacations fall on summer period. The period from April to August is considered the dry beach season here. The rains begin in September and end closer to January.

The rainy season in North Vietnam lasts from April to September. At this time, it is not only rainy here, but also quite cool. The air temperature can drop to +6 degrees. So it is best to relax in the north of the country in favorable period from October to the end of March, when it is dry and warm here.

Despite the fact that the rainy season is not very popular, in the south of Vietnam you can relax almost all year round. It is a common misconception that it rains around the clock here, and whenever you go outside, you will definitely get wet to the skin. However, this is not the case: showers in the southern part of Vietnam occur mainly at night. During the day, tropical rain lasts only 30-40 minutes, and you can easily wait it out in a hotel or cafe. The rest of the time it is still hot and sunny weather. The air temperature is stable at +30 °C. The sea is warm (+28 °C) and almost always calm.

However, if you are planning a trip to Central or Northern Vietnam, it is best not to go here during the rainy season. The fact is that along with the rains, monsoons come to the central regions. Large waves rise on the sea, and it becomes unsafe for swimming. AT northern regions low season differs in that cold air comes here from China. Of course, by Russian standards, the temperature drops slightly - usually to plus 10. However, in combination with high humidity, it becomes rather cool and uncomfortable here.

How long is the rainy season

The rainy season in Vietnam lasts approximately 5-6 months, while in different parts of the country this wet period can vary by month. For example, in the summer it rains in the south of Vietnam, while in the central regions, on the contrary, dry weather sets in.

Six months of rain is quite a long period. However, do not think that it rains every day for many hours. In the south of Vietnam, rains practically do not interfere with a comfortable stay. They go about 30 minutes a day and bring life-giving coolness after a long heat wave. Sometimes it happens that even during a rainy period, not a single drop may fall from the sky for 4-5 days.

rainy season nha trang

The popular resort of Nha Trang is located in the central part of Vietnam. The rainy season here is quite short: showers begin in September and end in January. Unlike the southern resorts of Vietnam, the rainy period in Nha Trang is accompanied by stormy winds. Serious destruction and disasters have never been here, but hurricanes are definitely not suitable for a good rest. On the beaches in the off season, it becomes impossible to swim because high waves rise. In addition, the rainy season in Nha Trang is unpleasant due to the invasion of mosquitoes.

Despite the fact that the rains in Nha Trang end in January, beach season here it only starts in April. The fact is that from January to March the weather here is quite cool for a tropical resort. The air warms up only to 22-25 °C, the water temperature averages about 20 °C. This weather is great for long walks and excursions, but sunbathing and swimming in winter is better in southern Vietnam.

Rainy season in Phan Thiet

Phan Thiet is one of the most developed and popular resorts in the south of Vietnam. Tropical showers come here in May, and go throughout the summer and autumn months. In the second half of November, there may be no more rain, but there is no guarantee that the showers will not last until early December.

Most tourists visit Phan Thiet from December to April, when there is no rainfall. It becomes especially crowded here during the New Year and Christmas holidays. However, you can relax in this Vietnamese town all year round. During the rainy season, showers occur mainly at night, and during the day you can swim and sunbathe. In addition, in summer and autumn, hotel prices are reduced in Phan Thiet, and you can save a lot on accommodation without sacrificing a comfortable stay.

The best months for holidays

Vietnam is unique country where you can avoid the rainy season by moving from one city to another. When in southern regions tropical showers begin, you can move to the northern or central resorts and enjoy dry weather and bright sun there.

Therefore, it does not matter at all what months the vacation will take. In winter and spring, it is best to relax on southern resorts– Fantien, Fukuoka or Ho Chi Minh.

In May, June, July and August, the most favorable cities for recreation will be the cities of Central Vietnam: Nha Trang, Da Nang, Hue.

autumn high season can be found on the northern beaches of Vietnam in Hanoi and Nam Dinh.

Holidays in Vietnam are possible throughout the year, because the climate here is conducive to relaxation and serene pastime. Even the rainy seasons, without which not a single year is complete in Vietnam, can be used for family holidays. Vietnam, due to its geographical position, is divided into three vast areas, each of which can have different weather at the same time of the day.

The rainy season in Vietnam in Nha Trang occurs in certain months of the year, so tourists planning to relax in Vietnam are advised to carefully study the climate of a particular region of the country before purchasing plane tickets.

The rainy season in Vietnam: is it worth going on vacation?

No one would like to fly a huge distance to Vietnam and get into the rainy season, when tourists are somewhat limited in their desires and possibilities. However, despite the fact that showers in Nha Trang happen often, sometimes turning into a storm of rain and strong wind, air and water have time to warm up perfectly and are easily suitable for swimming and exercising water sports sports.

Vietnam rainy season is coming different time for different regions of the country. This is very convenient for travelers who can come to Vietnam at any time of the year, only choosing the most favorable climatic and weather. The country is divided into Southern, Northern and Central regions.

Southern region of Vietnam: rainy season

The southern region of the country is made up of such famous resort cities as Dalat, Nha Trang, Mui Ne, Ho Chi Minh City, about. Phu Quoc, Phan Thiet, Vung Tau. Precipitation in these cities begins to fall in May and ends closer to. However, do not think that the rainy season here is endless downpours, thunderstorms and squally winds, which make it impossible to appear on the street and walk along the sea coast.

In Vietnam, the rainy season has nothing to do with many hours of heavy rain washing away everything in its path. The rains here are short-lived and last quite a short time, interspersed with the solstice and turquoise skies. Rains in Nha Trang, just like in other regions of the country, last about 15 minutes, then there is a lull, the sun comes out.

Of course, when the cloudy weather The air temperature drops slightly, it becomes noticeably cooler outside. Trees, shrubs and herbs, having received a small sip of water, straighten their petals washed with drops of water and begin to smell marvelously fragrant. The aroma also spreads from ripe fruits and berries that ask to be put into the mouth.

Central region of the country: rainy season

When in Vietnam the rainy season in the southern part of the country dominates and sets the rhythm for vacationers, in the central region, on the contrary, dry, sunny weather reigns. Hoi An, Hue, Da Nang - these resort towns meet with rainy season mostly in December. and until the very end of September it is dry here, hot weather, with warm, warmed up to 27 ° C air and no less warm sea water. It is here that it is recommended to come to tourists who want to get a bronze tan and own body experience the full power and ruthlessness of the Vietnamese sun.

In Vietnam, in Nha Trang, the rainy season brings with it winds that raise large waves on the sea. Swimming at this time is not recommended, diving will also be inconvenient. The ocean becomes restless from about mid-December and calms down towards the end of February. AT autumn months- in October and November - powerful typhoons can fall on the central part of Vietnam, bringing heavy rainfall and scaring away vacationers with a roar of water pouring onto the ground.

Northern Vietnam: rainy season

In Nha Trang, the rainy season is more noticeable and strong than in the central and northern regions. In the north, dry, sunny weather prevails, lasting from the beginning of May until the very middle of autumn. And with the onset of the winter season - December - in the northern part of the country cool, cloudy and rainy weather. At this time, it is best to drink hot tea in the room, wrapped in a thin blanket.

In Vietnam, the monthly weather of the rainy season in the north of the country is divided into dry and rainy periods. So, April here is characterized by sufficient humidity, at this time the air temperature reaches 20 ° C during the daytime and about 10 ° C at night. The coldest month of the year in the northern region of Vietnam is January.

Rainy season: rest or rejection?

Most tourists prefer to travel to Vietnam during the warm, dry months. This time is great for:

  • excursion walks;
  • city sightseeing;
  • beach holiday;
  • water sports;
  • riding scooters;
  • diving;
  • bathing in warm sea water;
  • going to massage and spa treatments;
  • gatherings in cozy summer cafes in the open air, etc.

Monthly rainy season in Nha Trang should not frighten travelers who have decided to properly take a break from the bustle of the city away from their home and service. Having a short-term character, the rains do not in the least interfere with a pleasant pastime, as they spill onto the ground mainly in the afternoon, namely in the evening, when many have already left the beach.

In the central region, the beach season begins in May and ends closer to. Throughout this time, the beaches and hotels of Nha Trang are clogged with tourists who have come from all over the world with different goals: someone wants to get to know Vietnam better, learn its traditions, ancient customs, other tourists come here for nice tan, others strive to taste the incomparable Vietnamese cuisine, famous throughout the world for its exotic dishes.

If suddenly you are going to Vietnam in June, then check out the article:.

From September until December, favorable conditions are also provided for those tourists who prefer active sports to passive recreation. Riding scooters, diving and surfing are just a few of the activities that stir the blood of travelers and leave indelible impressions in their heads.

The beach capital and one of the most popular cities in Vietnam, Nha Trang is a lively, cheerful, full of fun resort that has gained popularity and worldwide fame. After reading this article on the Tour-Calendar, you will see that the most best time to visit it - from February / March to the middle - the end of September.

Tourist season in Nha Trang

Nha Trang on the map of Vietnam is not just a point, but a wonderful resort that deserves to be written about. Once in this city, it is hard to believe that earlier it was a modest, inconspicuous fishing village, where no hotels and restaurants were ever seen. So this Vietnamese corner would have continued its monotonous and boring life, if the French colonialists, who built the first villas here and attracted the first pioneer tourists, did not pay attention to its amazing purity and unique natural splendor. We can assume that thanks to them, this resort has taken its current form. Well, the merit of its popularization belongs to the American invaders, who often rested in Nha Trang in between military operations. Fortunately, that difficult time for the city has long passed, and today nothing reminds of it. Kilometers of soft white sands, bordered by sprawling palm trees, "grown" along the coast luxury hotels and entertainment complexes, well-trained service and bright night life- this is how modern Nha Trang appears before its many thousands of guests. By the way, our compatriots are among them.

High season

In the midst of tourist season lasting from March to August, Nha Trang is experiencing a stormy influx of foreigners. During this period, local beaches are filled with everyday bustle. The main interest of tourists focuses on the adoption of solar-water procedures. And this is not surprising, since the bay of the resort is one of the 20 most beautiful bays in the world. The second influx of tourists is observed during the Vietnamese new year "Tet", which falls at the end of January, beginning or middle of February. During this time the rates are very high.

low season

The decline in the tourist season, which occurs from late September to mid-January, is primarily due to the worsening weather situation. The main obstacle to a carefree holiday are frequent and heavy rains, as well as a stormy sea. True, here it must be added that the climate changes from season to season, and even weather forecasters cannot say for 100% that the weather will be terrible. So, in November 2014, the notorious rainy season did not start. And in 2013 in the same month, on the contrary, it flooded every day. But one thing is known for certain: the price level at this time is rapidly falling. This is especially beneficial for those who come here for a long time on vacation or to look for work. Of course, there is a risk of typhoons and tsunamis, but in this region it is very, very small.

Beach season in Nha Trang

Nha Trang is warm regardless of the time of the year on the calendar, so the actual swimming season is never interrupted. However, due to downpours and gusty winds that generate restlessness of the waves, serene splashing in turquoise waters is far from always possible. The least recommended time for beachgoers is from October to December, when you can forget about the idyllic smoothness of the South China Sea, as well as about the transparency and purity of the water. Strong surf interferes with swims, and showers wash away sand and clay from the water area. This state of affairs suits only dexterous surfers, for whom the presence of “well-fed waves” is the main thing, and everything else does not really matter. However, if the main goal is not swimming, but getting a tan, then the “low season” is quite suitable for this. Precipitation, of course, is powerful, you can’t argue with that, but they are short, usually no more than half an hour. You can easily get a luxurious chocolate skin tone even in cloudy conditions, since the ultraviolet in these parts is very aggressive. In January, intense rains in Nha Trang are coming to an end, however, for vacationers craving beach bliss, this is not the best time, since the water this month is the coldest of the year: about +22 ° C - about the same as on Mediterranean resorts in early June. If you want an impeccable holiday, we advise you to start it for the period from March to August with a minimum number of “wet” days and a warm, calm sea. True, it should be clarified that in June, July and August there is a peak of heat, which is contraindicated for people with a weak heart and blood vessels. Also, since mid-August, the sea is slowly changing, and the waves become commonplace.

Diving season in Nha Trang

AT recent times specialized tours with a diving program are in increasing demand. The islands and resorts of the South China Sea are among the best on the planet for spectacular diving. Nha Trang offers enthusiastic lovers sea depths wonderful world colorful corals and colorful exotic fish. Since the water in the sea is always warm, diving is practiced here almost all year round. But still, the most optimal time for exploring the possessions of the kingdom of Neptune is March, April, May, all summer months and early September. During the rainy season, snorkeling is only done on downwind sites, and is mostly by professional athletes. During the rest of the year, about 20 dive centers are at the service of divers. Many of them are concentrated around the uninhabited island of Hon Mun, on the territory of which there is a real marine park with about 170 species of fish, 110 species of mollusks and 69 species of fauna.

fishing season

The sea off the coast of Nha Trang abounds with marine life - shrimps, lobsters, octopuses, cuttlefish and many inhabitants of tropical and northern seas. There are two ways to fish: sitting with a rod on the shore (the cheapest way) or on a yacht in the most “bread” places, along the way enjoying the pristine charm of secluded bays, picturesque islands and grottoes scattered along the coast. As with diving, the best season to try your luck at fishing is spring, summer and early September. However, even in these months, there is a possibility that she may turn away. The fact is that fishing around Nha Trang is highly dependent on the phase of the moon. When it moves away from the earth, it enters the coastal zone cold water, along with which a good catch comes in - mackerel, barracuda and tuna. The rest of the time it is rather modest, hence the mixed reviews that fishing in Vietnam is very mediocre or even worse, none at all. In addition, you can go fishing on the lakes. This pleasure costs, as a rule, cheaper, and the impressions are no less.

Wellness season

Another common reason why tourists visit Nha Trang is the desire to improve their health, regain their youth and beauty. Nature has rewarded the surroundings of this city with hot mineral springs and deposits of healing mud, which are actively used in thalassotherapy and in the treatment of various diseases. Indications for treatment may be dysfunctions of the musculoskeletal system, diseases of the bronchopulmonary and nervous system, endocrine disorders, skin diseases. The best time to undergo procedures is winter, when there is no unbearable heat and a huge influx of people. But at the same time, for serious treatment, the season does not really matter.

Time for holidays and festivals

Cultural life Vietnam strikes with its richness, scope and brilliance. Most of their mass depends on the phases of the moon, so it does not have clear dates. The largest ones include: Whale Festival (middle of the 3rd lunar month), Religious festival in the Po Nagar tower (April-May), religious festival "Am Chua Festival" in the temple of the same name in Dai Dien village (approximately in May), Birthday national hero Ho Chi Minh (May 19), Nha Trang Sea Festival (June), Independence Day (September 2), Mid-Autumn Festival "Tet Trung Nguyen" (on the 15th day of the 8th lunar month, which corresponds to the end of September -October), Che Ngo Festival (November), Catholic Christmas (December 25) and Vietnamese New Year(between the end of January and the end of February). You can familiarize yourself with the rest of the notable events if you go to the section in Vietnam.

Climate in Nha Trang

Nha Trang compares favorably with other cities and resorts in Vietnam with its blessed climate. It creates the most favorable conditions for the development of tourism in comparison with other regions of the country. Since the city is securely surrounded by a high ring of mountains, the frequency of typhoons, tsunamis and other natural disasters here is several times less than in other regions, and the relative humidity and precipitation are much lower. Temperature fluctuations during the year are insignificant, the change of seasons can actually be judged only by the precipitation regime. Like many cities in Southeast Asia, Nha Trang has the concept of a "wet season". Here it is understood as the period from October to December, during which about 1500 precipitation falls, which is 4 times more than in the rest of the year.

Nha Trang in spring

Spring in Nha Trang is the most successful time in terms of weather. So far, there is no exhausting heat and powerful downpours. The wet monsoon went home, having previously transferred this territory to the power of the dry continental. The sea is clear and without waves, you can swim at your pleasure, snorkel and dive.

The bright sun and cloudless sky are faithful companions of the summer season in Nha Trang. The incandescent power of the sun shows all that it is capable of, so you can get burned in no time. Don't forget to apply sunscreen regularly! There is practically no rain, and if they do, then only at night. But for a comfortable feeling, there is not enough freshness, so for small children and people with poor health this is not the best thing. auspicious time.

All the best and always! Winter has opened its warm embrace... Or rather, frosty burning, in the conditions of the Russian climate. And the lucky ones, whose vacation fell in December-January-February, begin to think about whether to go to the heat and to the sea, for example, to Vietnam. Another category - winterers - packs backpacks in half with suitcases, intending not just to wave under palm trees, including Vietnamese ones, for two weeks, but for the whole winter, or even longer, as they once did.

Accordingly, for the second category, the weather in Vietnam in winter is somehow not very critical, because they go seriously and for a long time, and plus twenty-six with rain is still more comfortable than minus twenty with wind. But the first category really does not want to spend a week in a hotel room out of two weeks of vacation, watching how gently furious tropical downpour draws watercolors on its windows. And so the first category began to actively ask questions in chats and tourist groups about the weather in Nha Trang in particular and in Vietnam in general. Therefore, they also considered it their duty to digress from the promised articles, in addition to an unscheduled post, in order to pour out a weather forecast to the masses based on their own experience of being in the blessed socialist republic of Vietnam, as well as the experience of friends living there.

Dry and wet seasons in Nha Trang

Let's start with a simple one - with what the weather is USUALLY like.

There are two seasons in Nha Trang: dry and wet. The dry season lasts approx. March to October, wet - November to February. All this is rather conditional and approximate, and it doesn’t happen year after year, and typhoons (and - we have calming articles), cyclones, and other natural anomalies contribute, but on average this is the case.

dry season

The dry season is a hot and dry season, when there is either no or very rare rain, the asphalt melts from pleasure and heat radiation on some days, and the sea is calm, gentle and photoshop blue. average temperature air at this blessed time during the day + 29 ... 33 ° C, at night + 22 ... 26 ° C, water in the sea + 26 ... 29 ° C (in different months in different ways within the indicated ranges, and year after year, as you remember, it doesn’t have to).

wet season

The wet season is no less blessed (by Russian standards) time, when it is quite warm in Nha Trang (+23...28ºС during the day, +22...24°C at night, +24...25°C at sea). However, during this period it is far from dry, because the rains can pour, and the waves beat. Oh shore. On the city beach. Therefore, swimming here can be very dangerous: on the shore you can see red flags and lifeguards driving rabid tourists out of the water.

This is what the red flag looks like on Nha Trang beach (beginning of February 2017). The waves are not visible, because it was taken from afar with an increase, and the flag setting level is higher than the surf level. Pay attention to the color of the water - it is cloudy due to the clay carried into Nha Trang Bay by the Kai River. And farther away, the dividing line between the blue sea and the brownish one is visible - clay from Kai does not get there

The color of the sea during this period is often closer to brown, because the rains contribute to an increase in the water level in the Kai River, which flows into Nha Trang Bay, because of which it brings clay into the bay, the particles of which make the sea brownish.

By rains during the wet season we mean tropical downpours, when water falls on the mortal heads of tourists, winterers and local residents strong streams, the streets in some areas (non-tourist) can be flooded, and this miracle lasts from 15 minutes to two days, including the night.

The amount of rain begins to gradually increase from about second half of November, reaching a maximum in December , decreases by the second half of January and decreases significantly in February .

It can rain heavily during the day, maybe a little bit every other day, there may be days without rain, and there may be days when it rains all night and all day without ceasing (this is less common). In the interval between rains during the day there may be cloudiness, under which the white skin of the winter Russian tourist burns easily, and the harsh winter Vietnamese sun can scorch, all the more capable of giving sunburn.

In general, in the opinion of ToZhe, you can live with rain if you have a raincoat and a positive attitude.

With waves it is more difficult - a raincoat does not help from them. Waves on the city beach begin to appear in October, while still on some days, they become more frequent in November, they reign almost the entire December, January and February, subside by March (more often in the second half).

Experience is the Same

This is the description of the weather average. But deviations are always possible. For example, December 2016 was VERY rainy, even for Russians who lived in Nha Trang for a long time (humorists in social networks renamed Nha Trang to Dozhdyang). And December 2015, according to old-timers, was quite warm and dry. In 2017, according to messages from chats and groups, December was dry, albeit cool. In 2018, at the beginning and middle of June, enough good amount precipitation, which should not be statistically average. Luckily it rained mostly at night.

About the waves. In December 2016, they also practically did not swim on the city beach. On January 7, 2017, we managed to swim here, apparently as a Christmas gift from the sea, and the day before and the day after, it became dangerous because of the waves. More or less swimming (namely on the city beach) has been possible since February, but not every day and mainly in the mornings. In 2018, the waves held on for quite a long time: they should have subsided by the end of March, but they “pleased” with their presence in April as well.

Winter 2018 - 2019, so far, is an example of the correspondence to statistics: both rains, and the sun, and waves within the quite usual, not counting the storm on November 18, 2018, as well as the fact that due to rains in late December 2018 - early January 2019 mudflows descended in the villages surrounding Nha Trang.

On what resources can I see a relatively accurate weather forecast in Nha Trang and Vietnam

Another way to get to Fukuoka, longer than by plane, but usually cheaper, is by ferry from the towns of Hatien (Hà Tiên) or Ratsia (Rạch Giá). And to Hà Tiên and Rạch Giá there are buses from Ho Chi Minh City (ticket price in the range of 200 - 250 thousand VND).

Ho Chi Minh - Ha Tien ticket link Ho Chi Minh - Rach Gia ticket link

Ferry from Hatien to Phu Quoc will cost 185 - 230 thousand VND, depending on which type of vessel you choose. Children's ticket - from 125 to 200 thousand dong. A child is defined as a person between the ages of 6 and 11. Travel time is either 1 hour 15 minutes or 2 hours 45 minutes, depending on the type of ferry. This Vietnamese site has Ha Tien - Phu Quoc ferry schedule and online ticket booking on him.

Ferry from Ratja to Phu Quoc will cost 330 thousand dong (according to other sources, 350 thousand dong), a children's ticket - 240 thousand dong. This Vietnamese site has ferry schedule Rach Gia - Phu Quoc .

And another option to get to this quiet island for a few days, perhaps not the cheapest, but very convenient: an excursion with a travel agency. So far we know that "Uncle Vanya" offers an excursion to Phu Quoc lasting 4 days and three nights. Perhaps other street tour companies are also considering this direction.

To summarize: if you I want the sun, but you will somehow survive the waves- go to Mui Ne or Phan Thiet; if you you need both the sun and a calm sea- welcome to Phan Rang or Phu Quoc.

Is it worth it to go on vacation or wintering in Nha Trang in winter

And now we come to the complex. To be or not to be, to take a tour or not to take? They will also try to give advice, in terms of their experience and outlook on life. But this is our opinion, which may not agree with yours.

For winterers

If you have already been to Nha Trang, love this city, and it is important for you to get from winter to summer, then you can and should go here in winter for several months. For the rains pass, but the summer remains.

You just need to mentally prepare for the fact that in December, most likely, there will be a lot of rain, and more or less the weather will be established by February. Also, you should be aware that swimming on the city beach during this period may not work as often as you would like. But with bathing, the issue can be settled, as described above. If the warmth with rains and waves in Nha Trang suits you more than the cold with the sun and wind in Russia, make up your mind. Remember that sometimes. Also our help. And we also have a separate page where we select air tickets to Vietnam at low prices and post links to them.

Tourists

Tourists should go to Nha Trang in winter if:

  • really want to go here;
  • calmly treat the waves on the city beach and are ready to get to quiet coves (at least to the North Beach);
  • treat people who are interested in excursions, walks, tasty food, but calmly do without long frying on the beach from morning to afternoon and after;
  • your children are children who are happy everywhere, as long as mom and dad are nearby, and where to swim: in the sea or in the pool - it’s equally wonderful for them;
  • treat people for whom nature has no bad weather. For us in Nha Trang, this is true. 😀 We are among the people for whom the very fact that you can walk along the sea in the morning and in the evening, even if it is agitated, warms the soul.

For lovers of exclusively beach holidays who go for the hot sun and many hours of swimming, and in order for the beach to be near the hotel, and not to go far and long to it, and excursions are not so obligatory, it is better to read the next section.

Where to relax in Vietnam when the wet season is in Nha Trang

What to do if you, nevertheless, want to dive into the calm sea early in the morning, and not get to the beach by bus or taxi, do not go somewhere with an excursion just for the sake of the sea, do not leave the hotel for several days to another city already paid as part of the tour? There are two answers to this tricky question:

  • Hope that it is in those two weeks of the off-season, when you will rest, that the weather will improve and the waves will subside. 😉 According to our (and others') experience, if there really can be little rain in Nha Trang in winter, then the probability of waves is still high.
  • Solve the issue with the waves radically: go on vacation not to Nha Trang itself.

Tour to a hotel remote from Nha Trang

You can take a tour to hotels remote from Nha Trang:

  • Amiana Resort 5*;
  • Vinpearl hotels;
  • Hotel on Hon Tam Island;
  • Hotels on Zoklet beach;
  • Hotels on the way from Cam Ranh Airport to Nha Trang, including Bai Dai Beach.

These hotels were written about in the article about.

There are also hotels on the coast of Ninh Vân commune and Whale Island Resort on Hòn Ông island. But the average tourist is unlikely to go there. However, there is also information about them at the green link above.

The main advantages of staying in a remote hotel:

  • many hotels have beaches in bays protected from waves;
  • even if there is a wave on the beaches, there are wonderful pools on their territory.

Main cons:

  • the average cost of a tour to such hotels is higher than to hotels in Nha Trang, because they are usually four- and five-star;
  • you will be removed from Nha Trang and most likely not see much of what this wonderful city has to offer. That is, in fact, you will not go “to Nha Trang”, but “to a hotel”. If that suits you, then great.

Combined tours

Currently, tour operators offer combined tours of Nha Trang + Mui Ne (Nha Trang + Phan Thiet), often at very reasonable prices. it a good option, other things being equal: capture the sun in Mui Ne, and feel the drive in Nha Trang. But the waves are likely to be here and there.

Tours in Mui Ne, Phan Thiet, Phan Rang (Ninh Thuan)

About Mui Ne and Phan Thiet wrote above. The main message: the sun will be, the waves too. If the hotel is good, then you may be lucky with the beach and, perhaps, it will be possible to swim in the sea. Definitely the issue of swimming is solved if the hotel has a pool.

Phan Rang is a small craft town between Nha Trang and Phan Thiet. Now it is gradually being mastered by tour operators offering tours here, as well as Nha Trang travel agencies that bring tourists either on a one- or two-day excursion. In general, it is worth going here for those who want a quiet, peaceful holiday in a small town, which does not yet have crowds of tourists (and everything connected with them - higher prices, intrusive barkers, and the like). But a person accustomed to active image life, spending two weeks here can be boring.

Tour to Phu Quoc

Nha Trang is a universal resort, thanks to its geographic location You can visit here any month of the year. Of course, everything is not always perfect, but for the most part it is safe to say that if you go in a certain month and will be doomed to sitting in a hotel, you can’t. By the way, it will be said that it is enough a large number of tourists from Europe, in particular the British, prefer to come to Na Trang in winter months when it is quite cold in their homeland, and in this way they save on heating at home, while the cost of renting housing at this time here, as in all other resorts in Vietnam, is sharply reduced, sometimes halving.

A fairly large number of tourists come here at the height of summer, such as from June to. At this time, the so-called eco-tours and various water sports are popular among tourists.

Rainy season in Nha Trang

At a time when all the resorts of southern Vietnam are immersed in literally the words "knee-deep in water" for as many as 6 months a year, due to heavy monsoon rains, Nha Trang seems to be on the sidelines, and only 4 months in the second half of the year (from December to December) can be called conditionally rainy here.

High season

In the first half of the year, almost January itself- the weather is, it's safe to say that, ideal for spending part of your vacation in Nha Trang. The dry season here is quite long, therefore, it cannot be said that there are a lot of tourists in certain months. "Packets" from the CIS countries appear here evenly, from January to August. However, beach lovers need to know that since June there has been a strong heat wave, and being on the beaches, and even in hotel rooms, is very difficult because of the heat.

Note: As with many European countries, In Vietnam, with the onset of summer, it's time for vacations. Thousands of Vietnamese with children rush to the sea. I advise you to take this nuance into account for the future, if you do not want to feel "like in Anapa."

The hottest time in Nha Trang

The period from July to August is a terrible heat. It is much worse tolerated than the similar heat in the resorts of Egypt, due to the fact that humidity is somewhat high in Nha Trang. We recommend postponing your trip during this period, or, as a last resort, try to make sure that the hotel where you will stay has air conditioning. With a propeller on the ceiling, it will be unrealistically difficult to survive such heat.

In my humble opinion, the best for Na Trang is the period from the month of April, average daily temperature at this time is in the range of 24-26 degrees Celsius, which, combined with a fairly large amount sunny days and rare night rains, makes the rest the most predictable and wonderful. I do not recommend going here in the fall, it is warm here, but damp and dull. There are no continuous rains, but they are quite frequent during the day and very intense. The sun is almost always behind the clouds, because of this the sea looks gray, the photos are not expressive. I hope the article answered many of your questions quite clearly, happy holidays to you.
