Neuro-Linguistic Programming. NLP Fundamentals and Techniques

Many are familiar with such an abbreviation as NLP. What it is, not everyone knows. After reading this article, you will get acquainted with this area of psychology, which has received great popularity today. Neuro-Linguistic Programming - that's how NLP stands for.

What it is? Briefly, this question can be answered as follows: this is a field of psychology that studies the structure of subjective human experience, and also develops a language for describing it, reveals ways to model and mechanisms of this experience in order to improve it and transfer the identified models to other people. At first NLP was called "metaknowledge". In other words, it is the science of the structure of our experience and knowledge.

Name details

The first part in the name "NLP" ("neuro") reflects what should be understood as "brain languages" to describe the human experience. These are neurological processes responsible for the processing, storage and transmission of information. NLP makes it possible to understand how inner perception works. The second part - "linguistic" - indicates importance, which has a language in describing the features of behavior and mechanisms of thinking, as well as in organizing various communication processes. The final part - "programming" - emphasizes that behavioral and thought processes are systematic: translated from Greek"program" means "a series of steps that are aimed at achieving a particular result."

Therefore, the name as a whole reflects the fact that NLP refers to subjective human experience and to people's lives as systemic processes that have their own structure. Thanks to this, it becomes possible to study them, as well as to identify the most successful experience, which we usually call talent, intuition, natural giftedness, etc.

Holistic Approach in NLP Theory

What is this area of psychology, you now know. We note its main features. One can consider NLP as a scientific field of knowledge, and even as an art, since it can be represented at the level of practical technologies and tools, as well as at the level of spirituality. It is based on a holistic approach to the study of human experience, based on the concept of the unity of spirit, body and mind.

NLP authors and the research they relied on

NLP was born from the interdisciplinary interaction of various researchers who studied the work of such great psychotherapists as Virginia Satir, Fritz Perls, Milton Erickson. Its founders are professional linguist John Grinder and psychologist and mathematician Richard Bandler. In addition, NLP co-authors include Judith DeLozier, Leslie Cameron, Robert Dilts, David Gordon. Today, this area is actively developing and supplemented by new developments. The circle of its co-authors is constantly growing.

NLP as an integrative independent field of knowledge has grown from the models of practical psychology, while absorbing all the best from a practical point of view. It was at first very eclectic, but over time it acquired a powerful methodology based largely on G. Bateson's epistemology, works on communication theory, and the ecology of the mind. In addition, B. Russell's theory of logical types was used, which became the prototype logical levels in NLP. What it is, you will learn by referring to books on NLP.

At the first stage of its development, it began with the modeling of Fritz Perls. This man is the founder of Gestalt Therapy. The modeling was carried out taking into account all the most important principles and approaches of Gestalt psychology. That is why the way NLP looks at thought and behavioral patterns has a lot to do with the Gestalt method. The second "model" that was used is specific linguistic patterns that create trance states of varying depth. They were used in the work of a well-known hyptotherapist. based on the works of Noam Chomsky, achieved in linguistics doctoral degree. Therefore, it becomes clear why linguistics should also be attributed to the scientific roots of NLP. Its authors proceeded from the idea that linguistic structures and speech reflect subjective experience, its internal processes.

To scientific foundations NLP, among other things, can also be attributed to the development of behavioral psychology. Its founder is A.P. Pavlov, Russian academician. Especially important are discoveries in the field of conditioned reflex activity. The authors of NLP focused their attention not on the mechanism of reflexes, but on the difference between unconditioned and conditional, on the study of triggers (external stimuli) that trigger a specific reflex. This topic is called "anchoring" in NLP.

NLP - a way to manipulate?

NLP has become very famous today. You can learn some technologies and techniques quite quickly and almost immediately feel the practical benefits. Unfortunately, in the media, sometimes individuals say that NLP is a way of manipulation. However, in reality, this is just a set of techniques and description techniques, something like an alphabet that helps to transfer knowledge. NLP, like any other tool, can be used for good or bad. Manipulators have been perfecting their skills for centuries, long before NLP techniques arose. Therefore, it is wrong to link these phenomena.

What can be learned by mastering these techniques?

First of all, you will learn to better understand others, their needs and needs, and you will be able to clearly convey your thoughts to the interlocutor. A person is often not able to clearly and clearly express what he would like to say. You will learn how to ask the right questions, which will help the other person clarify their thoughts, structure ideas, and save a lot of time and effort.

Note that NLP is a purely practical thing. He should be trained, practicing skills and immediately applying them in business. Learning by practice and from books is like comparing a person who can speak fluent foreign language, with one that can only translate with a dictionary.

Why do people attend NLP trainings?

In addition to practicing practical skills, you will meet many interesting people. By doing the exercises together, you can not only communicate in a relaxed atmosphere, but also make acquaintances, see yourself from the outside, and also note in others your own mistakes or moments that you have already managed to cope with. NLP training is usually quite fun. A significant part of the time is given not to lectures, but to practicing the knowledge and skills that are being studied.

In addition to cognitive tasks, other tasks are solved during the training - to spend time usefully and interestingly, to understand oneself, in relationships with other people, to set goals for the future, to solve complex problems facing the training participants. Together, this can be defined by the term "personal growth".

Duration and specifics of trainings

Usually NLP training is inexpensive. However, it has its specifics - if you seriously study it in order to subsequently be able to freely apply its elements, the process of developing skills must be given quite long time. Therefore, the minimum certification course time is 21 days. Classes are usually held once a month on weekends and last for 8 months.

Practical benefits

NLP programming can help you various fields life. For example, when starting a conversation, people often do not realize what they want to get as a result of it. Many problems can be easily avoided if you always remember the purpose of communication. This will prevent you from making hurtful mistakes. What other NLP rules can be noted for every day? Before starting a conversation, think about why you need it, what is your goal, whether the interlocutor understands your position, what arguments he may have. People sometimes get so carried away with the process of arguing that they can forget about everything, including possible consequences. The ability to control emotions and stop in time is another useful skill that NLP programming provides.

Application of the "anchoring" technique

To manage your emotional state, you can use a technique called "anchoring". With its help, you can prepare in advance for a difficult and unpleasant conversation, while maintaining a positive state of mind. You will also learn how to change your automatic reactions to things that irritate you using NLP. quite simple, but it is better to master anchoring in training or in life, and not theoretically. In a written presentation, what would be easy to demonstrate may cause misunderstanding and doubt.

Anchoring is the creation of a connection between a certain event and what is associated with it. The ship is held motionless by means of an anchor. In the same way, it causes the corresponding connection - the physical or emotional condition person, or we recall by association some past situation. This NLP rule works well.

Unconscious anchors, for example, can be “happy” clothes, the smell of your favorite perfume, photos, etc. To create an anchor for a calm and positive state, you can, for example, use a photo of a place where you were once happy. You can also apply special words or gestures that can be repeated mentally in difficult times. These are, for example, the words: "I am calm." It is important that they do not contain negation, as well as double meanings. All these and many other techniques you will work out in the NLP training. This practice has already helped many people from all over the world.

NLP today

By developing and integrating the most effective technologies and models, NLP today has gained wide application in learning, communication, creativity, art, business, therapy and organizational consulting, that is, wherever the resources of human behavior and thinking are most effectively involved. NLP today is primarily a methodology that allows us to successfully serve various areas of human progress.

Currently, NLP has become widespread in most countries. The best of it is used by many in practice, so there was a need for training. In the USA, for example, there are about 100 organizations associated with it, in Germany - about 70 major institutes and centers involved in development and research based on it in various fields. This direction of psychology came to Russia recently and is not yet part of formal education. However, NLP training is carried out as a special course in practical psychology in many institutes and universities. NLP today is available to a greater extent in our country in educational centers, as well as firms that use it (NLP consulting).

NLP: books

Of course, one of the most popular books is "From Frogs to Princes" (R. Bandler, D. Grinder). It is recommended to everyone, especially good for early stages study. Another one useful book- "Communication Mastery" (A. Lyubimov). Everything is explained in an accessible and understandable way: sorting gate, tuning, meta-message and other NLP terms. This book will be enough to teach the basics of this area. You may also find other work useful. In the book of Gorin S.A. "Have you tried hypnosis?" you will find excellent descriptions of Ericksonian hypnosis and trance induction techniques. The book "NLP for happy love". Its author is Eva Berger. "NLP for happy love" is useful for those who want to find a soul mate and live happily ever after.

Hello dear readers of my blog! I am sure that most of you have heard of such an ambiguous and sometimes even frightening psychological technique as Neuro Linguistic Programming. Indeed, the first thing that comes to mind when you get acquainted with NLP is tambourines of gypsies with bears who rob their victims with the help of hypnosis, or silhouettes of secret agents of special services. What is NLP, really? And why are we talking about it on the pages of a blog about self-development?

What is NLP, who created it and why

NLP is a direction in psychology and psychotherapy, founded in the sixties of the twentieth century by a group of scientists from the University of California: R. Bandler, J. Grindler, F. Pucelik and Gr. Bateson. This is a kind of symbiosis effective techniques family therapy, Ericksonian conversational hypnosis, transactional analysis and gestalt therapy.

NLP is based on the technology of modeling verbal and non-verbal behavior successful people and their interaction with society.

More plain language is a technology that helps to learn what someone already knows. It can be anything: cross-stitching, Chinese, corporate management, the ability to charm the opposite sex, establish communication with people, and even manage your emotional state.

From F. Pucelik's point of view, NLP is a set of skills that allow you to do everything you do, even better.

That is, NLP techniques can be useful to everyone who is trying to achieve something, to become brighter, stronger, more productive. The task of the master is to trace the features of the behavior model of a person who has achieved something, overcome something.

So, Richard Bandler, to work with patients who suffered from phobias, found several people who independently defeated the disease, summarized their experience and created the “Quick Treatment of Phobias” technique.

And one of John Grinder's successful students modeled mastering the skill of walking on hot coals as a test project. The idea gained popularity, and the enterprising student toured with seminars all over the coast.

Many have the misconception that NLP is a technique for manipulating people to "fuck the world". Indeed, any reliable knowledge of the functioning human brain allow you to influence behavioral responses.

Where can these techniques be used?

The methods and techniques of this amazing system work amazingly effectively. This is sometimes the danger. Knowledge itself is neutral, but the scope of its use can be both positive and negative. Therefore, like many other discoveries, NLP techniques can, unfortunately, be used by "specialists" with a guilty conscience to create various totalitarian structures, sects of controlled people.

However, the reality is that we do not live in society in isolation, but exchanging impulses, influencing each other, sometimes quite harshly.

How can a teacher conduct a lesson without manipulating his students in one way or another? And the head of the enterprise can manage the team without influencing it?

Or maybe you managed to put your naughty little son to sleep without having to carry out complex maneuvers and auctions?

I doubt it. Personally, I am quite calm about manipulations. By studying NLP, I learned to track these attempts. If the manipulator tries to harm me, I do not get annoyed, but ignore or just play with him.

Let's say when your daughter in the supermarket, walking past the shelves with bright toys, suddenly tries to tell how lucky she is with her parents. After all, this is also manipulation and much more subtle than the banal rolling of a tantrum. So manipulation and manipulation are different, and there are benefits from them (the daughter will still get a new doll - I think few people can resist).

The simple use of Neuro Linguistic Programming techniques helps to resolve conflicts or prevent them from occurring, that is, to produce high-quality communication.

In addition, NLP is not, not a collection of knowledge available to the elite, not shamanism, but diligently collected into a system psychological techniques really helping modern man in learning, in love and business.

After all, NLP is a tool like a hammer, knife or drill. You can use them to build a house, or you can injure a person. It all depends on how you apply them.

How NLP can help you become more effective

As mentioned above, NLP focuses primarily on the practical aspect and provides answers to many uncomfortable questions.

  • How to build a negotiation strategy?
  • Convincingly and reasonably formulate your idea?

A person who practices these techniques changes and inner world and a system of external interactions. Relations with other people become more transparent and harmonious, thanks to which it is possible to solve a large number of problems that interfere with life.

So NLP helps:

  1. learn to “read” the interlocutor using non-verbal sources of information;
  2. get rid of someone else's influence, stop or transform its direction;
  3. form and develop the gift of persuasion;
  4. to reach mutual understanding with other people;
  5. establish relationships with loved ones, with subordinates, with a random audience;
  6. learn new skills and improve existing ones;
  7. increase the efficiency of your actions;
  8. get rid of bad and acquire good habits;
  9. transform the worldview and increase self-esteem;
  10. allocate time efficiently;
  11. to form or strengthen the feeling of inner joy of pleasure.

Did you know that the use of Neuro Linguistic Programming practices allows you to boost your charisma on your own? About that, we have already spoken.

Conclusion

NLP provides many tools for self-development. With its help, you can form the necessary attitudes and achieve success in those areas where you think that you are not strong enough.

The great thing is that learning NLP is interesting and fun, as the results are visible almost immediately.

There are also many techniques for using this method, from complex pseudo-scientific to simple, accessible to a simple man in the street. If you are interested in this model of self-development, then write in the comments. And I will cover this issue in more detail in future articles.

Learn something new, friends. Bye Bye

Cool idea - we can learn other people's skills. I already wrote that NLP is essentially a system for modeling success. That's just in order to find out how someone else's skill works and teach it to others. And this can apply to almost anything: touch typing, walking on coals, playing the stock market, sales, the ability to make acquaintances or manage own fortune.

By the way, one day one of John Grinder's students modeled angulation to pass the test for the master's NLP course. After that, he began to conduct seminars on teaching this very coal walking, which suddenly turned out to be very popular.
Richard Bandler, when he came across a person with a phobia, went - as the great Milton Erickson bequeathed - to look for people who themselves coped with their phobias. Found a couple of them, figured out how they did it, and created the "Fast Phobia Cure" technique. Which allows you to deal with a phobia in 15 minutes (true, true - we go through this technique at the Successful Thinking 2 training and quite quickly remove various phobias).
Personally, when I certified as an NLP master, I simulated touch typing on a computer. He taught himself and taught others. This is the model I'm using right now.

Each person is unique or "the map is not the territory"

Men are mistaken in thinking that all women are different, and women are mistaken in thinking that all men are the same.
Joke.

Indeed, each of us has his own personal life experience, his own view of the world. And this view of the world is unique. A person's personal view of the world in NLP is called card(in contrast to the surrounding world, which, respectively, is called the territory). Maps are different - more or less convenient, suitable and detailed. The only thing they are not - right or wrong, because this is only a description, a model. Any, even a very good card, somewhere will not be very convenient: the most best card of the city of Moscow is completely useless in the glorious city of Saratov, and the wine list of a French restaurant is not very convenient for orientation in the metro of the city of Berlin.
And, of course, the map is not a territory, just like a very detailed description borscht (even with pictures) will not become borscht itself. So, most problems arise when a person tries to fit the world (territory) to his map, instead of redrawing his map so that it is more successful for this territory. And, to some extent, all that NLP does is help a person in finding such personal cards world that will help him become more successful, successful, happy and healthy. Naturally, if he wants it.

A lot of NLP change techniques involve "expanding" the map - seeking a broader view of the situation. Well, really, if we have a problem, then the solution is somewhere outside our world map. And in order to solve the problem, you need to expand the map so that this very solution gets into it.

Behind every behavior is a positive intention.

Calibration

People say one thing, but often feel and act very differently. There is such an important concept in NLP as calibration- ability to notice external signs states. Because any of our assessment is manifested in the whole body: in intonations, movements, gestures, posture, sentence structure or breathing. And calibration allows you to understand what a person really feels, how he relates to whom, what he wants. And pay much less attention to what he says. Since he can speak in order to please, what is expected of him or what he considers more correct to say in this moment. Or simply because he did not realize his assessments and feelings. Calibration makes communication much more accurate and efficient, and human behavior much more understandable.

We already have all the necessary resources to achieve our goals

In order to get from Moscow to Saratov, a car needs gasoline (and a train needs electricity). Both a car and gasoline are necessary resources to achieve the goal of coming to Saratov. Now, NLP assumes that we either already have the right resources to achieve our goal of becoming more successful, quitting smoking, communicating better, or finally writing this report, or we can find them. The world is big, you just have to look.

At least thinking this way, you will achieve a result sooner than meditating on the topic “why am I so unhappy” and “I won’t succeed anyway, I’m not created for happiness (success, marriage, prosperity and owning a BMW X5 car)”.

Environmental verification

There is a very important thing in NLP - environmental check changes. This is a test of the consequences of actions - will it get worse after achieving the goals? And then he became the general director, but earned an ulcer, stopped being afraid of heights, fell from the balcony and broke his finger, demonstrated confidence and calmness during the dressing of the authorities and was fired. So that new abilities, skills and beliefs do not ruin your life, you need to check in advance and tweak the result so that everything works out well.

Models and techniques

Model in NLP is useful description(map). For example, how to clarify what a person is talking about (“meta-model of language”), how to change an assessment (“reframing”) or belief (“tricks of language”) during communication, in what sequence to collect information (“SCORE”), typing people ("meta-programs").
You can read about models in the NLP Encyclopedia.

Techniques NLP is step by step instructions. Most often, techniques describe how to solve some kind of problem (“Swipe”, “Six-step reframing”, “Quick cure for phobias”, “Changing personal history”). But there is also about how to set goals correctly (“Well-Formed Outcome”) or how to communicate better (“Effective Communication Strategy”).

In fact, techniques are also models, because they describe something, and are usually very useful.

Many NLP techniques are the result of modeling how people have successfully solved similar problems themselves. For example, “Effective Communication Strategy” is the result of modeling successful communicators, “Changing Personal History” is modeled on the great Milton Erickson, the same one who created Ericksonian hypnosis, and “Quick Phobia Cure” is modeled on people who themselves removed their phobias.
Description of various techniques in the Encyclopedia of NLP.

Values, criteria and beliefs

What we strive for, what we want, or vice versa, we avoid, is precisely determined values, criteria and beliefs .
Values- important concepts for a person, usually expressed abstract words, like: happiness, freedom, justice, prosperity. Since values are rather abstract, values are attached to criteria- ways to measure the realization of value. For example, the value is "prosperity", and the criteria for prosperity are "earnings more than 150,000 per month, your own apartment, car and cottage."
Beliefs- rules of life describing how to interact with the value. For example, for the value "love", beliefs might be:
- The most important thing in life is love.
- Love comes and goes.
- I'm not worthy of love.
- Real love happens only once in a lifetime.
Beliefs can allow and prohibit the achievement of value, describe what is needed to achieve it and what are its criteria. For example, even if "love" is a very important thing for a person, the belief "I did not deserve love" will "forbid" him to receive this same love.

Beliefs govern our lives: either a person does something for the sake of their beliefs, or they do nothing.

At one time, no one managed to run a hundred meters faster than ten seconds. Until Jim Hines ran 9.9 seconds in 1968. After that, everyone quickly started running faster, record after record. Now the record is 9.69. Well, the runners before Hines did not believe that it was possible faster than 10 seconds, in their reality such a possibility did not exist. So far, this bastard original Hines vilely has not destroyed this belief.

Beliefs are also one of the most important filters of perception. If a woman does not believe that there are decent (according to her criteria) men, they will not come across to her in life. And even if they come across, their behavior is interpreted in such a way that, God forbid, it does not fall under the criteria.
In NLP, there are quite a few techniques for changing limiting beliefs (for example, "The Museum of Old Beliefs"), as well as a set of speech structures for changing beliefs right during a conversation - tongue tricks(they are promotions).

Our Attitude Is Encoded With Submodalities

In communication, the score and attitude is 85%. But inside about the attitude - important, like, right, legal, mine, someone else's, bad, wonderful, right - we learn with the help of the so-called submodalities .

Modalities (sensory) in NLP and psychology are called hearing (auditory modality), vision (visual modality) and feelings (kinesthetic modality).

For example, we can move the image away or bring it closer (which usually enhances the experience), make it brighter or darker (weakens the experience), color it differently (it depends on the choice of colors) or blur the background (makes the object more important). Similarly, you can change the characteristics of sounds and sensations.
So. Simply by changing submodalities, you can change the attitude: make the unpleasant neutral, increase motivation, remove obsession, turn doubt into conviction or confusion into understanding. With the help of visual and auditory submodalities, you can control your own attention. And with the help of kinesthetic submodalities, one can quite successfully learn to control various interesting states, such as creativity, increased attention, intoxication, or super motivation.

Read more about submodalities in the presentation.

We can manage state with anchors

Would you like to manage your own wealth? So that you press the button - and be sure of yourself. Or calm, cheerful, cheerful, relaxed, focused. And in the same way to manage other people - once, and the person feels good? Or calm, fun and so on? Surely I would like such a thing - well, at least try it. And there is such a thing - it is anchors, such labels in the mind that trigger the desired state.

In fact, anchors are conditioned reflexes. But the word anchor sounds more clear.

With the help of anchors, we can "turn on" and "turn off" our state: attention, cheerfulness, calmness, motivation or creativity; we can transfer the state from the place where it is to the place where it is still lacking: for example, there is peace and confidence lying at home on the couch, but when communicating with clients it is not there yet, so you can transfer it from the couch to clients; you can manage the state of other people, as well as destroy old anchors that are no longer needed.

At all times, a person has sought to find techniques and techniques for how he can influence the people around him, while achieving what he wants from them. To some extent, neuro-linguistic programming, which is popular today, opens the veil of secrecy. It is based on the idea that a person is made somewhat manipulable. Examples of NLP can be traced everywhere.

Man has a mind. It is often shaped by parents, teachers and society as a whole. If you understand how a person is programmed, you can influence him. The features of the functioning of thinking are also taken into account. You can absolutely not know a person, but influence his thinking in a way that will naturally fit into his process.

Website psychological help the site understands that many readers would like to know the secret secrets of influence. However, neurolinguistic programming needs to be constantly trained, because even the followers of this theory have not yet revealed all the secrets.

Every day a person is an object for programming. They try to program him, like a robot or a computer, for certain actions that are desirable not for himself, but for other people who program him. How do they do it? The main methods are manipulation on fear or repetition. When you are scared, you are not in control, which means you do what you usually do, succumbing to panic. If you constantly repeat the same thing, then over time you will get used to this thought and agree with what they say to you or what they do to you.

A person can be programmed for certain actions through an idea that you express in words in writing or orally. Tell the person only what idea you want to plant in his head. Over time, on a subconscious level, he will remember it and will act in accordance with the embedded thought. Here the principle applies: everything you do, see, say, hear, etc., shapes your future. And here the future is formed by means of words, the meaning of which you want to introduce into the head of another person.

Most people perceive a particular situation more easily - a picture or an image of what is happening, and not philosophical thought. In other words, it is better to show a picture or create such a situation that a person remembers it and remains in his subconscious.

Moreover, people do not like long speeches or texts. Short expressions, slogans or phrases are more memorable. Therefore, if you want to influence people with a word, speak less, using clear and precise language.

What is Neuro Linguistic Programming?

Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) is a recently emerging concept that refers to a set of techniques and techniques that mainly affect the activity of a person’s thinking in such a way that he begins to perform the necessary actions. Usually people turn to NLP with a desire to control and manipulate other people. In fact, psychologists doubt the effectiveness of these techniques. Of course, a person can be influenced against his will. However, he continues to be a free man. If he remains vigilant and does not want to give in, then no NLP techniques will work on him.

Initially, Neuro-Linguistic Programming was aimed at changing the person himself. A person can achieve success and make his life the way he likes it if he uses special techniques and begins to influence himself.

There are many techniques used in NLP, some of which are popular:

  1. Use of the word. People have not yet fully grasped the meaning of the word, which actually carries a very strong influence.
  2. Adjustment at the level of non-verbal.

Each reader must understand that his brain is a kind of computer in which certain patterns, stereotypes, beliefs, fears, complexes, emotions, experience, etc. were laid down. All this now affects a person’s behavior, his strategy for making choices and making decisions, his lifestyle etc. If a person is dissatisfied with his life or himself, then he must understand that, first of all, all problems are in his head. You can use special techniques to set yourself up to prevent other programs that have already made a person unhappy from acting.

Neuro Linguistic Programming Techniques

Neuro-Linguistic Programming was developed by Bandler, Erickson and Grinder. Initially, techniques were used in psychiatric practice to eliminate fears, phobias, stressful conditions, etc. However, NLP gained popularity among ordinary people who also wanted to independently influence their subconscious.

You should take responsibility for the consequences that will arise as a result of the neurolinguistic impact on others. NLP techniques can be both beneficial and harmful.

Techniques in advertising are becoming very common, where specialists try to bypass all obstacles and protective psychological mechanisms. First of all, it is taken into account how a person perceives information, and then the appropriate words are already used:

  • Visuals (people who perceive information mainly with their eyes) are affected by words such as “look”, “pay attention”, “turn your gaze”, etc.
  • Audials (people who primarily perceive information through their ears) are affected by words such as “listen”, “hear”, “listen”, etc.
  • Kinesthetics (people who habitually perceive information through tactile sensations) are affected by words such as “touch”, “soft”, “feel”, etc.

Neuro-Linguistic Programming can change a person's life. It all depends on what a person directs forces. Can get rid of fears negative emotions. You can improve your self-esteem. You can develop new skills for successful communication. You can change your attitude to specific phenomena or life in general.

Using the example of the emergence of a feeling of jealousy, let's consider how neurolinguistic programming works:

  1. First, a person imagines pictures of his partner's betrayal. That is, there is a visual channel.
  2. The person then begins to imagine the groans and sighs during the betrayal (auditory channel).
  3. Jealousy develops (kinesthetic channel).

To change your feeling, you need to change the script in the first or second stage:

  1. For example, at the visualization stage, you need to be aware that the pictures are false, unproven, untruthful.
  2. At the stage of auditory perception, you need to imagine that lovers are having sexual intercourse to a humorous program or cartoon music.
  3. Already at the third stage, jealousy will not arise if the first two stages have been done correctly.

NLP offers many techniques that should allow you to achieve your goal. Here are some of them:

  • "Light the film" - when you need to let go or forget some memory. Each time you need to make the picture of memories brighter and brighter until it completely disappears.
  • To remember what has been forgotten, you need to scroll through the memory as often as possible in your head, “exaggerate”, make assumptions about what happened, do this until the memory is removed.
  • "Twenty years later" - when you need to reduce the strength of the current experiences. To do this, you need to imagine yourself, a place or another person twenty years later and pay attention to what feelings you now have for him (to the situation).

An important technique in NLP is rapport - adjusting a person to an interlocutor in order to establish contact with him of trust and goodwill. This is done by taking a pose, performing gestures and facial expressions that a person makes.

Neuro-Linguistic Programming invites people to act as if the desired result has already been achieved, real. This allows a person to get rid of many clamps and internal fears. It is believed that a person performs the most favorable action at the moment and always proceeds from good intentions. A negative result is not something bad, but shows the ability of a person to act differently next time, because he has potential.

Another technique of NLP is the "Anchor" - this is when a person in himself or in another individual wants to cause a certain state with the help of a conditioned stimulus. So, a person constantly performs some action, says a word or observes an object, while experiencing positive emotions. After several repetitions of this process, you can already just say a word, do an action or look at an object so that positive emotions arise as a conditioned reflex.

Neuro Linguistic Programming Examples

Neuro-Linguistic Programming has gained its popularity in the workplace, where people want to influence and achieve the desired results. So, the most popular areas are management, trade, advertising and even politics. However, there are people who use NLP in love relationships, so, for example, such a direction as a pickup truck is known, which offers various ways attracting girls quickly.

Why program people for anything? Everyone wants to have influence on others so that they do what he wants. Of course, only a few have this kind of influence. But if you try hard, you yourself can get closer to this kind of contact with others so that they begin to fulfill your wishes.

How to program people with your own words? The most simple and easy rule: you should only say what directly concerns your desire. Don't say what you don't want to come true. Remember that all your words are programs that are imprinted in the head of your interlocutor and then realized through his actions. What do you want? That's what you're talking about. Forget everything else. Do not say a word about what you would not like to see in your life.

Is it really possible to program a person in this way? Can. After all, they say that "if you constantly tell another that he is a pig, then soon he will grunt." The same principle applies here: you constantly talk about the same thing, which is how you program a person to fulfill your desire. And do not worry about the fact that at first the person does not want to obey you. There is always resistance in the beginning. But then a person gets used to the idea that you told him, after which he himself begins to think about the same things that you programmed him for.

Outcome

Neuro-Linguistic Programming offers many techniques and tricks. This is a separate direction that you need to study in order to be a guru and be able to manage both your own and someone else's life.

NLP Influence Technique - methods of influencing a person that allow you to succeed at work and be successful in your personal life. This is help in establishing contact with another person, a small manipulation for your own benefit.

NLP helps to establish effective communication with people

What is NLP

AT modern world success is associated with well-being. The ability to achieve goals, aspirations, victory over competitors - success in business depends on such factors. Secret techniques are used in companies whose earnings directly depend on the pliability of customers. Network marketing, shops and outlets use simple psychological manipulation to get rich.

NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) is the modeling of success. A technology that helps you succeed in any field without innate inclinations. Basic methods will be useful to a man and a woman different ages and social status. NLP is a small manual, a collection of techniques that allow you to improve your own situation - to attract the right people to achieve more at work.

On the Internet or in a bookstore, you can find several NLP publications for beginners. Author Danny Reid reveals the simplest and most necessary techniques that make it possible to correct the behavior of people from a close environment. His book "Secret Tricks" is very popular all over the world.

How NLP can help

  • improving communication skills;
  • understanding of one's own thinking, awareness of one's nature;
  • solving protracted problems;
  • control over one's own state;
  • setting goals and achieving them without barriers;
  • improving intuition - it will be possible to better understand which people will help and which will only harm;
  • increasing the concentration of attention, working capacity, labor efficiency;
  • promotion.

The essence of programming is modeling someone else's success: it's not stealing someone else's achievements, but following rules that have already been tested by others. Such programming does not require special skills or talents.

The use of NLP allows you to improve communication skills: improve relationships in a team or better understand loved ones. It is a perception technique, but it does not necessarily ruin the life of another.

The benefits and harms of the technique

Even safe methods can hurt. The rumors that go around about the NLP technique can be misleading: manipulation is associated with violent influence on another. Before studying NLP, you should familiarize yourself with its main position: this is one of the areas of psychology that has been effectively used for more than a decade. Psychologists, psychiatrists, trainers, people who work to achieve a certain result, motivators use this technology of influence. The technique is practiced all over the world and has many fans.

What methods of influence can be dangerous? Any psychological manipulations are contraindicated for people with mental disorders: they have a distorted perception of reality, and they cannot objectively assess the situation. This type of influence is also dangerous for the fragile psyche, which is just being formed. There may be an assimilation of incorrect attitudes and beliefs.

Promotion is one of the effects of using NLP

manipulation techniques

Neuro-Linguistic Programming is a practical psychology. The method of influencing another person increases the efficiency of work and helps in the treatment of difficult patients: useful methods of influencing a person are used to correct behavior.

NLP technique is used for discussions, speeches, negotiation. This effect does not serious consequences. The most popular manipulation techniques:

  • contribution trap;
  • three "yes";
  • mixed truth.

Any NLP technique is aimed at another, but for the benefit of oneself. This is an increase in success due to the correct perception of the message and actions by the surrounding people.

Even in a team of ill-wishers, such a technique can increase the efficiency of an employee or employees. Universal techniques can be applied to colleagues, household members or friends.

Contribution trap

Basic manipulation techniques are effective only in the right conditions. The investment trap is based on one psychological reception: if you force a person to invest effort, time, resources in any business, you can get his assistance in the future.

Subconsciously, such a person will feel involved in the case: he is part of the process, and in the future it will be very difficult for him to refuse to participate in it. The contribution to the common cause may be minimal, but it also obliges the assistant to further assistance.

The basic techniques of NLP are simple and require a bit of cunning to perform. It is not so important how a person was involved in the case, if he started work, then he will remain in the project until it is completed.

Technique of three positive answers

NLP techniques allow you to get a positive response from a recalcitrant person. The three “yes” technique works flawlessly. How it works:

  • a person is asked several questions, to which he is very likely to answer positively - these should be simple questions, without negativity or claims;
  • as soon as the person answers the distracting questions in the affirmative, you can ask the main question for which the manipulation is used.

The technique works in such a way that a person tunes in a positive way. He is pleased to answer questions that cause a positive reaction in him. The three-yes method works in most cases.

Problems with the technique can arise in cases where a person is aggressive or has a personal dislike for the interlocutor. In such cases, another manipulation is needed to obtain a positive response.

mixed truth

A technique that can be used unconsciously - on an intuitive level. It is useful to use in your speech phrases or facts that are easily verifiable or widely known. During such stories, when the interlocutors have already gained confidence, you can add unverified facts (doubtful), and people will still believe in them.

In psychology, this effect is called induced unconditional trust. You can call favor from people who put pressure on others, because they are too demanding and biased. If you adjust to their pressure, they will begin to trust.

Trusting interlocutors can be presented with untruthful facts that they will believe

Ways of influence of NLP

Practical methods will be effective if a person creates additional conditions for the implementation of the plan: the possibility professional growth or prerequisites for achieving the goal.

In psychology, NLP techniques are used:

  • reframing;
  • "anchor";
  • rapport and leading;
  • motivational;
  • reinforcing.

Techniques are used to locate people to themselves. Examples where NLP techniques are used: negotiations with important partners, a date, a friendly meeting, a business conversation.

One or more techniques can be used to conduct constructive conversations. It is important that the interlocutor does not catch the manipulation, does not notice the purposeful suggestion.

Conversational reframing

Reframing is a different look at the situation, rethinking the main part of it. This method helps in dealing with difficult people whose words and actions are difficult to understand. Meaning reframing changes the perception of everything that happens, because the emphasis shifts. It is used as one of the most effective NLP patterns (repetitive behavior).

The Neuro Linguistic Programming technique is useful during the consultation so that its results do not seem negative: during negotiations, when a different view of the proposal is needed; for sales, to revalue the product and its value.

The results of the technique directly depend on how naturally a person makes a revolution in the meaning of what is happening.

For any phrase that needs to be reframed, you need an evaluative word - it is the brightest and most informative, it can come from the situation, and you do not have to invent it. After that, the word needs to be inspired: to imagine in what situations it is most appropriate, what it describes, to whom it belongs. The general definition is corrected, its emphasis is shifted to what a person needs. This is how meaning is reframed.

Anchor technique

Neuro Linguistic Programming techniques such as anchoring are based on conditioned reflexes. As long as a certain stimulus is turned on, any desired result can be achieved from a person. The "anchor" technique helps in communication, negotiations or contracts.

What is an anchor? This is a stimulus associated with a reaction - a conditioned reflex. With the help of this technique, you can control the behavior (of yourself and others). The method can be used selectively or permanently, make it a good habit.

Stages of the methodology:

  • determination of the state that is needed at the moment;
  • the challenge of this state is the creation of a suitable emotional background, memories;
  • at the peak of the experience, a conditional anchor is set, which must be fixed in memory - it will come in handy in the future;
  • abrupt interruption of the state;
  • examination;
  • anchor use.

The results of the technique will be visible immediately. The brain is designed in such a way that at the peak of any state (negative or positive), a random situation is remembered the most - this is a trigger that becomes an anchor. There are many such signals in the psychological schemes of manipulation. If a person experiences joy, an accidental touch will become a trigger. In the future, this gesture will be associated with the peak of joy, and it can be used to mitigate difficult conflicts.

The rules of NLP-2 define the conditions for the anchor to work - there must be an emotional peak and an unusual trigger. The stimulus is always inside a joyful state: work with the subconscious is carried out especially carefully. The trigger is selected original. He is like a key that will make a person experience positive feelings again.

The "anchor" technique is based on conditioned reflexes

Rapport and Lead

Rapport characterizes the relationship of two people as trusting. It is a special connection that has been established over time. Such a pair forms a system: they are one and act as one organism. Rapport is the desire to follow a person, trust him, follow him without any questions. Subconsciously, this situation is perceived as unconditional trust.

Rapport is followed by guiding. These are related concepts: trust arises, followed by a person. Changes in one member of the system entail changes in the second. This technique has three stages that form a cycle: adjustment, rapport, leading. If you build the system correctly (follow the person first), you can take control. Leading is the main instrument of influence, especially in close partnerships.

Calibration of behavior is necessary in cases where the interaction is disturbed. People are building common system, and the one who manipulates must observe rapport - this important condition successful manipulation.

People in one interaction must have constant contact, otherwise the whole harmony will be broken. This is the main difference between trust and psychological rapport.

Strong motivation

Motivation is a force that you can use to achieve your goals. Its principle is very simple: a person must make certain action now, in order to receive additional encouragement, reward, benefit for it in the future. Motivation is the expectation of the good, which generates strength for hard work.

It is used only in relation to the inner circle: people whose intentions and secret desires are known. If the motivation is not correct, it will not be possible to get a return on it. Working with the subconscious in this case requires knowledge of the habits and aspirations of the person whose behavior needs to be corrected.

Reinforcement technique

Reinforcement is the basis of reward. A stable energy message that needs to be reinforced so as not to reduce the effectiveness of the technique. Reinforcement is based on gestures, pleasant little things - these are things that remind you how pleasant it is to perform the actions that the manipulator needs.

Without encouragement, motivation is not enough for a long time: part of the NLP techniques rests on long-term interaction for the sake of obtaining benefits. It is necessary to select things for reinforcement individually, based on the desires and needs of the other.

Conclusion

Neuro-Linguistic Programming is a system of simple manipulation techniques that will come in handy in life. At work, at home, in complex negotiations, you can use the technique and win over the right person.

Techniques will help achieve your goals, and motivation will help to improve relationships in the family. The selection of techniques depends on the wishes and goals of the manipulator.
